: The reason the new PROJECT splashes look so different is because the colors/contrast is WAY off
I think you hit the biggest point that we're all thinking about, and it's absolutely true. Another problem I have noticed though is that Jinx, Akali, and Irelia are not as robot-y. Their outfits have fabric in the oddest places for robots! Jinx's pants and Irelia's bodysuit are easily identifiable as *not* bare robotic limbs. Akali slides past this one in the splashes, luckily for her, but as OP said, the white is not a color to contrast with a dark background and high attention-to-detail of lighting (yes I know her background isn't dark at all). I don't mind the faces, as Ashe, Katarina, Vi, Vayne, and probable a few others I am missing have faces, so it would not make sense to complain about them. They just contribute to the human feel that the fabrics are giving off, which isn't working in Riot's favor. **HOWEVER, Jinx and Irelia's faces are actually human faces, not reconstructions! There are no seem lines like in Ashe, Katarina, or Vi's faces!** Why Riot? My guess is that the people who did the new line are not the same people who did any of the last 3 and just couldn't mimic the theme well enough. I have nothing against the artists themselves, but I have to admit that they dropped the ball on this one, and should probably give it another try or hand it off to someone who has more experience in style that the original 3 PROJECT releases have.
: Idk I take it on Volibear and it seems to do a shit ton of healing on the rune page after games. Maybe its only good on supports or junglers who gank a lot though
I take it on Nunu and I can get upwards of 2-3k healing to my teammates just from FoL
: I have a good chunk of singleplayer games I cool off with, the ones I usually go to are either Minecraft or Skyrim too, funnily enough. I honestly just never think to use them half of the time I'm playing League - would getting into that habit really be as helpful as you make it out to be? I try to do that whenever I play with said friends, yeah. It works... for the most part. (The toxicity is kind of abundant among all of us at this point but its usually me getting legitimately mad it seems.) I will try to do that more though, or try to have a generally more... casual and play-for-fun approach to the game.

I honestly just never think to use them half of the time I'm playing League - would getting into that habit really be as helpful as you make it out to be? I can't say for certain how much they can help you cool off, since it's bound to be different for most people, but it certainly helps me. In any case, it couldn't hurt to try using them more often to cool off. In the end, what keeps you from tilting is up for you to find out, but I definitely don't mind giving suggestions to people when they ask and it makes me happy to know that I'm at least trying to help.
: Everyone else's responses are much appreciated as well, I didn't expect to get even one reply to this so I'm really glad this forum is as active and helpful as it is. :) I have talked with some friends about my dilemma and they say that I should still play for the sole reason that all of my irl friends play and that's what got me back into the game in the first place, but that I should still definitely take precautions and just refrain from typing at all if possible/still get therapy and play much less. Would this be a good course of action or should I still quit the game altogether?
> [{quoted}](name=SodiumSucc,realm=NA,application-id=yrc23zHg,discussion-id=j9EMyEU6,comment-id=0006,timestamp=2019-07-15T03:59:44.627+0000) I don't think you have to quit altogether. What other games do you play? I would suggest adding a singeplayer game to your library, something with replay-ability or lots of content to explore in it. Usually when I get tilted I move on to something else for the next few hours, regardless of whether or not I can play with my friends. For me, I play a lot of Skyrim in my downtimes from League. It's still engaging enough to demand effort, but it's not tilting enough to get under my skin. Sure I get mad sometimes after I die without saving for a little while, but at that point I can either: Shrug it off and try again or go back to playing something else like League. If you play with friends a lot, try to focus more on making jokes and having a good time that revolves around the game, rather than in the game. Chatting while farming peacefully and interrupting that with the occasional trade/engage makes for a more relaxing experience.
: Why is League of Legends so polarizingly infuriating even for casual players?
Well, for one this game is competitive, regardless of if you are playing Norms or not. People want to win and take the opportunity to hold their advantages over their opponent's heads, which can get toxic. Another thing is that Riot has made it so easy to get into a game, win/lose, get out, repeat that it's gotten much easier to forget that there's another human being on the other side of the server. When that happens people tend to forget about the results of what they say/do, especially because they don't get to witness the results most of the time. All of that combined makes people more unfriendly and much less enjoyable to play with. You might also be angered that the game's directive has changed drastically over the years. Riot doesn't have the same balancing goals today that they had several years ago, and many people have been upset by this. Maybe this affects you, maybe it doesn't. Regardless, burst metas have a tendency to make people angry regardless because there is little opportunity for counterplay on a micro scale. Maybe you enjoy blowing people up in .2 seconds, but I am very certain you don't enjoy being blown up in .2 seconds. And, on a more general side that doesn't only affect League: the more people you meet, the more likely you are to run into people that are generally disrespectful/less interested in your mindset. Humans are hard-wired to remember bad things more than good things, so we tend to dwell on poor experiences. This includes toxic behavior online that gets directed towards us. **TL;DR** Competitiveness; lack of human identification; game design/balance; general behavior of the population.

: [Proposal] Twisted Treeline gameplay update, New game mode & More. @Riot, Mort, Meddler
I'm really supportive of the ideas. However, we've learned about Riot's work ethic over the recent years. This leads me to believe that Riot will only glance at this, decide it's too much work, and go back to doing the bare-minimum to maintain their status as a billion-dollar company. My personal opinions on the subjects really only concern the Little Legend themed ideas. I think most of the ideas based around acquisition should be the standard for TFT as well as these ideas you have. If you guys are really, *really* interested in committing these ideas and want to go even further to do more work than has already been done (seriously, this must have taken a long time to put together and develop, so kudos to you guys!) then you'd be much better off talking to Rioters in person at a business meeting. I have no idea how one would go about doing that, but I definitely don't think that making a Boards post or a Reddit post is the best way to get Riot's attention on these subjects, nor is it the way to get them motivated to do something on this scale.
: i hate that riot has such a fleshed out and interesting universe but is doing nothing with it
I remember the Burning Tides event, which was pretty cool in the way of lore interaction. They basically just did it to accompany Gangplank's rework; I don't remember how the Gangplank mains took the rework, but the whole process felt epic to watch. Also, Butchers Bridge is a great alt map for ARAM and Black Market Brawlers was/is hands down the best game mode Riot has ever made. I think if they did more events like Burning Tides then we could get some more cool things out of Runeterra's lore. I honestly don't know why they haven't after they introduced missions into the new client. ######Fun fat, Dead Man's Plate was originally an item introduced by Black Market Brawlers. Riot decided to keep the item in standard Summoner's Rift after people wanted some of the items to be added into the game. Many of them were a little wacky and overtuned, but Dead Man's fit the bill for a standard tank item almost perfectly!

: Does that situation suck? Of course. Are there games where you should surrender? Yeah, probably. Is it ever acceptable to AFK or leave? No, never. When you're in queue and you press accept, you agree to play the game out until a Nexus explodes. You can try to justify it however you want but at the end of the day AFKing is wrong and against the rules. If you want to keep AFKing, that's on you. Eventually you're just going to lose your account.
I mean in the end, what's more important? Upholding some arbitrary set of rules put into place to punish the trolls? Or your mental state? Sitting in a game where you are becoming a victim of a harmful ideology (never surrendur) or a victim of people who are abusing the system put into place (never leave no matter what even if the trolls are trolling) literally holds ***zero*** value for me or whoever is in the situation. I don't care what Riot says, if I deem it healthier for me to just leave the game\* then there's nothing they can do to stop me, and as long as I am making sure to put a good chunk of time between my games that I leave, the system probably won't think anything of it. \*I personally have not left a game in this manner in a *long* time, but I have gotten extremely close to that threshold in recent games.

Double deathcap + Yuumi + 6 Sorcerer bonus results in you legitimately killing one squishy -- not picking them -- at the beginning of the fight but is probably massive overkill. We want diversity, not pick/ban scenarios. You're complaining about the Hashinshins of the community, who yell that everything that isn't their champion or their class or their role is broken because they are massively biased towards their playstyle. They believe that they should be able to just beat everyone. I would recommend not paying attention to this group of people, because they are not going to give you good insight into what a balanced scenario looks like.
: Your reasoning is this: > 1. Old game modes could not be instantly ported to the updated client > 2. That means Riot can't make a **NEW** game mode for the updated client **2 YEARS LATER** Never mind that Riot *has* released random game modes on the updated client, or that a completely new mode is something entirely different then updating an already existing mode.
Point one isn't my reasoning at all. I *know* you can't just slap the gamemodes on the new client at all, I am saying that they look almost exactly like the base game, so why is there 0 effort put into them and instead we are putting all the effort into something completely new that doesn't resemble the base game (mechanically) at all? Point two isn't even there all the way. Riot *can* and *has* made new modes in the past two years. I complained then like I am now. Granted that I enjoyed the other game modes like Nexus Blitz and Nexus Siege much more than I do tft, I am just confused as to why they jumped straight into making new modes rather than re-implement the old ones, whether that means build them from scratch or not. If I were making the roadmap for gamemodes the first thing I would say is "update/remake existing game modes to fit with the new client." Also, if making a new mode and updating old ones are entirely different things, then why aren't they both happening at the same time, with different teams of people working on them?
: > [{quoted}](name=CytheGuy,realm=NA,application-id=3ErqAdtq,discussion-id=WkstqpKR,comment-id=00030000,timestamp=2019-06-26T20:28:12.666+0000) > > Why not just rebuild the game modes from scratch? they could do that but I doubt it's something they'll want to do and rather just do something new and shiny since out of nowhere they want to introduce "permanent" game modes... even though they could just add the rotating game modes in custom games but whatever floats their boat I guess
Or rebuild the old game modes and implement them in rotating queue along with poro king and ascension
: They developed the Games for the old Client, this is a new Mode for a new Client. I loved them too, don't get me wrong, but this is just biased.
Just rebuild the games from scratch I doubt it would be that hard considering how much work they have been willing to put into tft
: Yeah, totally. It's not like a lot of time has passed since then, or that they haven't had other game modes after they said that. Oh wait.
I honestly have no idea what you're trying to say with this comment
: it's almost like something was developed using old technology. Try playing an old PC in todays PCs and tell me how well they run without you having to go through hoops and loops to even get them to start. They could make those modes work for the new client or they could develop new modes for it.

Good on him to control the environment(have it on his discord), stick to points that didn't really have anything to do with the topic but made nubrac look bad & throw in multiple other guys to make it not a 1v1. Maybe it was even better prep on nb3's part. I don't know. Fortunately, Nubrac's side speaks for itself. The guy is playing a strategy that helped him get from middle diamond to master tier. Should this be bannable because he doesn't always inform teams of exactly how it works? I don't think so. I think Nubrac carried himself respectfully and intelligently through the argument though. He let NB3 talk when he was going on rants of the same thing over and over, because there's no point in repeating himself. When he did have something to say, he put his foot down and didn't let NB3 interrupt him. He did have to give some ground when he started talking about morality though, as that isn't exactly what he should be arguing. Nubrac's argument and strategy should have been to convince NB3 that his in-game strategy was legitimate and worked to the point where NB3 gives up and decides to leave the argument behind because he knows that Nubrac won't give any ground. Seeing how the rest of the argument went, I think there might have even been a chance that NB3 would have even been pressured enough to give in that Nubrac's strategy might be legitimate. As far as this went, neither person left with the thought that the other person won or had a legitimate argument for their case as a whole. They parted disrespectfully.

It was a similar case if you look on the outside of this one. In that case, a player's strategy was counterjungle singed support, where he would go and take the enemy jungle and leave his adc in lane alone. He actually had over a 50% winrate and he told people that he was going to play the strat. He also did this every game he could. The differences are that Nubrac only does this strat with high-profile streamers on his team to get publicity. It's not his go-to, he knows the strat has a subpar winrate and yet he does it anyways.
