Hey Meddler! g'day 3 quick things: * Can we get cho gath's and pyke's execute on Zed?, since he already has the shiruken * what is your stance on support items like ardent censer which enhance a champ's kit vs active/link item and their use rate by MMR level? * What is your design stance in shadow buffs/nerfs? Do they have benefits when seeing power perceived by players vs actual power (for example saying in patch notes you are gonna buff cinderhulk but not actually doing it for whatever reason)
: Taric counters AD assassins like Qiyana
I think Lulu is a better counter, her W completely ROFLSTOMPS any assassin/diver that wants to get on your AD carry face, and her ULT also stops them in their tracks. For me taric is better at team fights where you want to hard engage and stuff like that
: btw someone suggested some changes on surrenderat20 comm section ( https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/99f11f5f67371728ea07414e7c6e10157c69d49dd3d3fce8172ee931343f7cbc.png ) , and honestly I can say it fit her much better and looks less like she's having a wig made of dog hair. (I do not really know like what dog breed her hairstyle remind me of, but im sure there is one with exactly that white fur style covering its body)
: Qiyana: Awesome visuals, but one big missed opportunity.
this is actually a good point. I don't really think that if a character draws inspiration for any particular culture they should represent said culture in a perfectly accurate way, but her hair style does seem very out of place
: Riot said it's a solo laner,next one will be a marksman. Jungle: *exists* {{item:3070}}{{item:3070}} {{item:3070}}
yeah I miss original junglers too. Last one was Ivern, so really the last original jungler was kayn, since Ivern's playstyle is so odd Icouldn't get into it myself
: So this is the solo lane assassin from the jungle, yes? Because she really isn't giving me that impression.
tbh it is really hard to het any sort of character or kit impression from the teaser. Would have to wait for the actual reveal, but yeah at least her clothing doesn't really communicate "assassin"... she look too similar to Sivir for me to picture as anything else other than an ADC

not for me, specially because the name of the region she is from is called Ixaocan. That word has very distinctive Mayan structure to it. Shurima already represents northern African cultures very well, so it makes sense for a new region to be something different (draw inspiration from other places to make it stand out)

but remember the more you consistently win the more your mmr goes up. Not everyone has the same winrate. Also the influx of players changes (total gamer population in ranked for a server) which changes mmr as well Also sorry I wasn't clear enough, but I need a recent game where that happened so I can look up the low rank match history to see what is going on. For example you could have gotten a smurf that was trolling, or premades, or a legitimate shitty roll of the dice with matchmaking, but unless this happens on a consistent basis I really don't see how it is a problem

They use mmr for matchmaking. But use this ranking system for some reason. So if you are going through say bronze and go on a huge winning streak, you suddenly get matched against gold players. So if I’m good enough to be matched with gold players. Why am I not just gold then? :/ You’re throwing me into gold games. But just saying “nah, you aren’t gold. Good luck”

yes pecause you have to know what to do with her to have a good win rate, she is like ryze and azir (not as extreme but still). Her heal is good early if you manage it while kiting camps, her knock up is good if you ambush people with E and not just run at them, and her Q is reliable damage. also, that has nothing to do with the original point of my previous comments so I'll stop here :)

: Will Riot ever fix hitboxes?
no because the problem isn't the hitbox (in most cases) but the perspective the game is being played in
: If you want to use a mmr based matchmaking
what people don't understand when they make this posts, is that MMR is relative to the rest of the server's player base. : Rek sai is still dead, the kit has no dmg output, the stats per lvl are low for a tank, and the ult is useless untill late game, which hardly happens when u play rek sai. Its half a champion compared to new ones which have spell kits of two champions in one.

So, when you have a high bonus AD to go with the ratio you heal for a lot more on Q and R. It also increases in damage per level. As I said it's an alternative build and you have to understand why you're doing it, but it is viable. Several diamond + Warwicks build Warrior over Cinderhulk for specifically this reason. If you don't believe me check out some youtube replays. Then check the builds even at Challenger. Sometimes they opt for Warrior.
well yeah, you heal more but that isn't optimal at all, guess you can play it if you really want though
Haze97 (EUW)
: Then take waterwalking. They're probably running it due to which they can run around you in circles. With Warwick's Q they should never be able to do that other than if they had taken waterwalking in which case it isn't the champion, but the runes.
I already take it, if you Q they just walk the other way lol
Haze97 (EUW)
: His ganks may be shit but Xin, Lee, and Vi are never going to outduel him early game. I play WW and the only champ who can duel him early game is Udyr. With everyone else you walk into their jungle, kill the opponent and walk out with their camp, then off to the scuttle and don't give a shit about whether they show up. If anything he needs better ganks early game and he's good to go. He can in no way be outdueled by the champions you mention.
I also play WW (got to diamond with him) and yeah, they do. they only have to go bak and forth so he can't auto them all the time and cicle thorugh cds
Velasan (NA)
: Technically you can Q max, but it's a different build. You can go high damage Q + R set up with Warrior Enchant, but you need to be consciously doing it. If you just build like the basic cinderhulk titanic you won't have enough CDR or AD to make it work.
but what is the benefit of maxing Q when the AD ratio and base damage don't go up by skill point? nor is the Q cd reduced btw, only the amount of healing and damage based on enemy's health go up
Haze97 (EUW)
: He isn't supposed to do well late game due to how phoneme good early game is. The only champion who can duel him in a 1v1 is Udyr and even then it's a skill matchup. They should buff his mid game if anything and leave the weak late be, to justify this.
His early game isn't that strong, sure his dueling might be good (many champions do beat him like lee, vi, xin, udyr and shaco with ignite), but his clear is super slow although safe (most junglers have good clears safe clears nowadays) and his ganks are only ever good if your laners is ahead or enemy is over extended (compared to good junglers like lee, shac, rek sai, zac and elise who have actual gap closers) He is supposed to start be a good duelist/skirmisher mid game and transition into a tank late game. Sure his late game shouldn't be bonkers but definitely not as weak as it is now, specially since he is literally middle of pack in terms of win rate compared to other junglers)
Saezio (EUNE)
: I like your post and upvoted. You make totally reasonable points and in my opinion only a moron would disagree. The only thing I want to point out is that reksai's wasn't really a QoL change because they changed it from being able to legit outrun the ability, to "you need 1000 units of instantaneous movement" to dodge it. Great job other than that :)

I will never accept the w max It doesn't make any sense to me
let me explain it. If you look at warwick's wikia https://leagueoflegends.fandom.com/wiki/Warwick you will see that every time you level up Q the only thing that goes up is mana cost (bad cause makes for weaker clears), healing (which you don't need because of your passive) and damage based on**enemy** total health; the cooldown and AP/AD scaling remain at the same no matter how many points you put into it Therefore, by putting points into Q first you actually only buffing damage against monsters slightly, since champion health doesn't scale that much until mid game when enemy tanks have a bunch of health and all champion's have had their base health go up by level So basically it is better to put points into W early since Active CD goes down, which means more ganks, as well as passive attack speed going up, which means faster clears and DPS vs champions. I only put 3 points into W because by the time that happens it already gives you enough passive movement speed and attack speed, and you start needing the Q's healing because you start fighting multiple champs at those level and take way more ambient damage (need more survivability) + enemy starts gaining way more health and your Q health scaling starts mattering a lot more

: Apparently fixing bugs isn´t really one of riots core strenghts. Beside the thng you have mentioned there are far more bugs. For example the passive doesn´t update after respawn or the body blocking bug. Hell they can´t even update his Blood Hunt passive text. It still says "below 20% hp attackspeed bonus is tripled" which is wrong. Anyway there is a huge buglist with videos and descriptions on reddit already. The only thing I´d like to see buffed is his abysmal base hp. He does have even less hp at lv 18 than most of the adc´s. Just .. seriously?
what do you mean his passive doesn't update after respawn? you mean the W's passive?
Haze97 (EUW)
: He doesn't even NEED a Q hall buff. He already clears every camp with more than 2/3rd HP remaining, can outduel anyone at level 3, and still synergizes incredibly well with {{item:3065}} and {{item:3812}}. Fucking braindead buff which doesn't bother addressing the issue.
yeah but griveous wounds fucks him over and his early clears, while safe, are tediously slow (which should still be until he gets bami's or tiamat). I think there is room to buff his mid to late game, I just disagree with the way Riot is going about it ---------------------------------------------------- https://champion.gg/champion/Warwick/Jungle? take a look at his win rate by game lenght
: Riot said Blood Hunt is still likely the best first max... i thought people maxed Q first.
Inexperienced WW player do. The optimal way is actually to put 3 points in W and then max Q, but most players top abilities 1 by 1 https://champion.gg/champion/Warwick/Jungle?

: This is a nice trick but I'd definitely avoid doing this if you actually have the time (and specific mechanic) to ward properly. If you have any ability that can withhold vision within the fog of war (for instance, Lux's Lucent Singularity, Ashe's Hawkshot, Quinn's Heightened Senses etc), it can act as a temporary ward for you to actually ward safely, properly. If you watch the video in its entirety, you'll see that honestly, it gets the ward in there but not much else, the vision for many of them are very limited. If you feel immediate danger, do this, that's fine, don't risk dying to ward properly, but if you feel safe and are able to reveal parts of the map, I'd suggest you ward at the furtherest edge/corner of certain brushes; that way you can get a lot more vision. Another 'trick' that this video didn't show specifically is that, if you click on your trinket or hold down whatever key you bind to your trinket (and whatever item slot you may have a warding item), you'll be able to see the "aiming reticle" of your ward/trinket. What some people don't know, is that it goes green in a brush. As such, if you hover your mouse over the edge of a brush, you'll always be able to tell whether the ward is going to be in the brush or not. Nothing's more embarrassing than placing the ward _just_ outside the brush.
hey thanks this is actually useful! I find the blue side top ward one of the hardest and more useful ward tricks, this will definetly help not wasting a ward

: Sentiment around us doing such mini updates seems to have been pretty positive. For any given one opinion has been more varied though, hence some getting reassessed. In terms of future work some of these have been projects to take advantages of a bit of spare time between other work (e.g. Blitzcrank), others have been prioritized because of a pressing issue (e.g. Aatrox). Would expect the latter to keep happening regularly, the former to be more variable based off other projects needs over the year.
Hey Meddler, hope you are doing well Speaking of small changes I have 3 short questions regarding your design philosophy: ----------------------------------------------------------- 1.- What is your stance on shadow buffing/nerfing (**not showing changes on patch notes or showing incorrect changes)** like Cho gath's execution indicator or bamis cinder buff being mentioned without happening to asses power change/perception of players? 2.- Has Cho's execution indicator altered his win rate significantly (I find it easier to use now) **Would you consider adding a similar execution indicator to Zed's death mark** since the shirunken is hard to see/understand for inexperienced players? 3.-What is your stance on changing support items to have less actives which IMO are a turnoff for the majority of players and instead focus on more items like ardent censer that enhance a support's kit instead of adding effects to it?

: You apparently didn't even read my last respond. But anyway. Let us got through each point. Remember if this went through entire teams would think of little issues that need to be dealt with in order to make system that is 100 times better than the current one we play in. But right now I'm alone and i can still solve it which proves it ain't that hard to do. 1. XP debuff applies after 30 seconds in lane that is not yours. 30 seconds is more than enough to perform a roam/gank take the kill or make the enemy leave lane, and shove the wave. Then respectfully go back to your own. 2. I didn't break anything. Teemo should have never went top to begin with. Additionally with minor changes to his basic attack range he could easily become AP attack speed champ going for {{item:3115}} {{item:3124}} and {{item:3100}},would be cool to have that kind of champ in the bot lane as he is by definition marksman. As for mid, with his removal from top he could get more passive movement speed and Buff on Q damage. Probably some kind of buff to shrooms too. Its simple both of adaptations. 3. At random??? When riot makes a champion at first they decide which lane they want to target with it. Their mistakes make it able to go elsewhere. Some champions should remain as dual lane champions. Like you mentioned i think that Galio could remain one of the flex options because even though he has quite a big range on his poke its avoidable and his basic attack is melee. Hecarim is one of them too. So is Jax. Probably a couple more. But not too many. Camille's place is in the top not in the jungle. Getting stunned from the fog of war is not quality gameplay. 4. Teemo is no longer a top laner, with simple changes. Gnar is just a mistake of bad design. Personally I'd remove him pending a rework, but since that is not an option, he could remain as remainder of design teams mistakes and be a semi-ranged top, while getting some things buffed his auto attack range should be cut to 350 and his jump in mini form should be way smaller. Compensation buffs approved. Jayce should join Zed in the midlane with any compensation required. Quinn is again remainder of Riots terrible champion design as she is never balanced. She is either broken most OP top in the game or utterly useless. Which means she needs a kit change to be addapted properly either to jungle or to adc position. 5. While they thought is was good, they proven time and time again that they do not know how to please the playerbase and continued to lose players due to terrible balancing decisions and exactly things i'm suggesting to get changed. Its way more fun to try and win a matchup you know you can win and lose based on your good or bad play as opposed to matchups that you know you cannot win no matter won because you got defeated in champ select. 6. Lastly. If a champion is bound to a lane. And you get some specific lane in champ select, and also become able to pick it in blind pick by clicking on it instead of typing it in the chat, it issues that you are only able to pick champions who are meant for that particular lane. You dont need instinct, you dont need to ask anyone DoEs TaLaUyaiaHHH gO tOP? Game shows you if it does or doesn't. Simple, Focused on quality instead of quantity. Better for 95% worse for 5% or less. Fair trade-off. If some champions <10% or all, have to undergo a transition its worth for stabilizing the other 90%
I was gonna give you point by point answers but then I realized most of it boils down to you presenting your opinion on what each individual champ should be as fact ("Statements like "Gnar is just a mistake of bad design", for example) First of, yes I did read your last post, where do you think all my questions came from? (also you are comming off as very defensive/aggresive for no reason at all) No, your own personal opinion on where each individual champ should lane is not fair, specially when taking into account the literal feeling of thousand of players No, Teemo would not be balanced with a range increase, because his blind would make him auto win all trades in bot, specially because you just made it so that only ADCs can go there. "At random??? When riot makes a champion at first they decide which lane they want to target with it. " For some champs yes, for others like Vi, Swain, Graves and Tahm they let the player base decide where they went I called your design unintuitive because when players start learning to play they pick champions first and go from there, they don't know what top, bot or mid is, or how to jungle. If they buy a champ for example and pick whatever lane just to play it, when they swap lanes the xp drain they get is not intuitive at all No 30 seconds is not enough, you still have to push tower you might get into a skirmish that lasts longer and the high risk would make it so that experienced players would avoid roaming in most circumstances since it is such a gamble, so many champions/play styles would suffer because of it (and again, this isn't intuitive for new players that take longer to roam/gank)

Do you really think anyone who has dreamed for years to work in the videogame industry would turn off a job after going through all the hiring process, just because in their final contract (which usually is super large) there is a clause about "forced arbitration" which who don't even know about because you are 28 and just want to work in video games? Usually you just check the paycheck you negotiated is there, as well as benefits and vacations. Big companies "take advantage" of employees this way a ton. and unless people demand change after incidents like what happened at Riot, usually it stays the same If you're 28 and STILL don't know what forced arbitration is, that's entirely on you. Arbitration benefits the employer AND the employee.
