"Traditional mage" lol. I'm 100% positive that people are going to take Taliyah as support, just like they do with Vel'koz and Zyra.

: Getting real tired of these "fill" people
If Riot brought back TB, we wouldn't have this problem.
: Queue up in new champion select this week!
Bring back Team Builder. There was no reason at all to remove it, considering that this new system and TB isn't even close to being the same.
: Instead of retiring Teambuilder, why don't you replace Blind Pick with Teambuilder?
Here's a simpler answer: how about we just keep Teambuilder, Blind PIck, _and_ the new dynamic picking? There is literally no reason why the three of them can't coexist, considering that they are each fundamentally different from the others.
Llanite (NA)
: Support goes AFK. ADC gets all XP. Support times 7-8 mins then come back, both hit 6 before the other 2 guys.
That is a stupid argument. Completely, utterly stupid. This is what actually happens: Support goes AFK. ADC is now 1v2. ADC gets no farm. Support comes back 7-8 mins, and is also now behind. There is absolutely no reason why someone who DCs should not passively get experience like in Dominion. Literally none.
: I don't think we're really forcing anyone to play roles; players get to pick their two favourite roles (or fill), and we do our best to give them their first pick. We do 2 options because, well, sometimes two people want to play the same thing and rather than have it break out into an argument *during* champ select (which sets the tone for the rest of game), it's settled before even going in. Also remember we're allowing the option to play with more friends, so having people play with you who are bought into unconventional comp experience is also an option. Off-meta, ahoy! We'll keep monitoring how the champ select process is actually playing out for draft mode, and if there's anything that looks concerning we'll look into it.
No, Riot _is_ forcing everyone to play roles by virtue of the fact that we must choose two roles to play (or fill). This is fine for ranked and draft pick, because bans means that sometimes the champion you planned to play for a role is taken out of play, but the problem lies in the fact that you guys removed Teambuilder in order to accommodate for this new dynamic picking when it really wasn't necessary for you to do so. This new picking system is great for ranked and draft pick; far better than any of the previous systems. But for normals, where sometimes a player just wants to play one specific role and one specific champion in order to practice, it falls short. It makes it more likely we can get the role and champion we want, but not guaranteed. And players are greedy people; we want to play what we want to play, for whatever reason. Teambuilder was far superior for that. And that's where this dynamic picking and Teambuilder are fundamentally different. Reiterating myself, it wasn't necessary to remove Teambuilder from the game. It and blind pick and the new draft pick occupy distinct and separate roles. They accomplish different things and suit different needs for different players. There was and is no reason why they can't coexist in the game. The only thing removing Teambuilder accomplishes is to force players to play this mode of play, or blind pick, by removing a substitute choice. A sneaky move, if that was intentional. > [{quoted}](name=Riot SlumberJack,realm=NA,application-id=3ErqAdtq,discussion-id=y1VttssE,comment-id=00100003000000060000,timestamp=2016-01-15T03:10:16.955+0000) > > Well, that's not terribly fair for other players who would love to play with you but now have to wait for someone else of a similar skill level to pick *exactly* what they need as their first preference, is it? > > Might not seem like a lot in a one-off scenario, but add up the amount of cases of people who want to play mid- or ADC-only and this becomes an unscalable solution. And because I feel this needs to be responded to as well: There is nothing unfair about those players having to wait for someone else of similar skill level. In fact, it's the opposite. It's unfair to the players who _don't_ want to play this new mode, or want to play only one champion and/or one role. To use an analogy, it's like if there are two group of kids; one wants to play soccer while the other wants to play baseball. The parents (that would be Riot) decide, however, that soccer is simply the superior sport, and thus takes away the second group's baseballs, bats, and mitts and forces to go play soccer with the first group. That is the definition of unfair. You are forcing a lot of players to play a mode they have no desire to play because it's been deemed "better," for whatever reason, despite the fact that, again, there is no reason why TB can't continue to exist now. Maybe Riot did explain why TB was removed somewhere and I just missed it. But if I haven't, I would really love for a Riot's response on why they thought it was necessary to remove Teambuilder.

: I am honestly so mad that they keep nerfing Azir. I don't even play him that often, but the fact that they keep peeling away what made him good at all is painful to watch. First they completely destroy his E making the shield weaker, the knockup literally nonexistent, and the whole use of that ability (escapes) null. Then they go and nerf his Q so that it doesn't deal additional damage past the first soldier? WHAT'S THE POINT OF HAVING ADDITIONAL SOLDIERS THEN? I understand that you can still attack with these multiple soldiers at the same time, but really? You honestly felt like Azir, of all people, needed further nerfing? I also understand that this sounds super ranty, but you're pushin' my buttons, Riot. First with the further breaking of champions like Darius who didn't need to be any more broken, then with the THIS. ugh. Anyone else have similar or different opinions? I'm honestly interested to see if I'm the only one who sees it this way.
Azir is a hard champion, and that balances him out in the lower levels of play. But in the higher ranks, where the skill of the player becomes less questionable, he is disproportionately powerful. The nerfs he's received so far has helped tone him down, but a good Azir is still a nightmare.

: Just to be clear. You're upset that rito is giving you an awesome free skin and it took us longer than we intended to get it out. So we should never, ever do that again. Well ok..... Feedback noted.
Please don't put words in my mouth. That's not what I said at all. What I said was having Gangplank disabled is frustrating. Whether you guys do or don't give out a free skin is a different matter entirely.
: Can we get Gangplank now?
Like, is it so hard to believe that players can't enjoy and become immersed in lore without having this done to them? Because I'm pretty sure that there's quite a bit of people who want to play GP not just because of the rework, but also because of the whole lore event. Too bad Riot's not letting them.
: Hey Keg Master GP, you have every right to be upset about it. MF blew him off the face of Runeterra! There's no bug. GP is dead. Edit: To clarify I honestly think you have the right to be upset about it. I was not being facetious. He hasn't been disabled due to a bug, he has been disabled because in the live event he is dead.
So you Riot recognizes that there are people unhappy about this move... and sticks with it anyway? My god.

The second day was a bit concerning, but I thought they wanted to let it really sink in to some people. But three, going on four days of refusing someone access to a champion that they may really enjoy playing is really upsetting. I really hope they have some super bad ass skin or something for him when he comes back, because if not, a lot of people are going to be upset. I know personally, if that stunt where pulled with Udyr, I would be complaining so damn hard, and be so infuriated. Although I myself dont too much care for Gangplank, I know there are people that love him just as much as I love Udyr, so I can understand them being upset. He is actually disabled due to a bug, not actually lore. They just aren't saying as much in the message for some reason. (read my above post)

And this makes it more enjoyable or even acceptable... how?
Jaredan (NA)
: It really isn't the true reason. Gangplank was not made inaccessible due to a bug.
Just bring back Gangplank, please. This is neither an interesting nor smart way of expanding on lore. All you're doing is making the people who enjoy playing Gangplank really freakin' annoyed.

: The thing is, it will be very very very hard to code for what you described. I don't think "moving back in time" in a multiplayer, online game has never been done before, its just so hard due to all the inputs people give, such as issuing pings, dragon/baron/buff spawns, cds, ect...there is so much that goes into every second that a player does, that it will be too hard to reverse all of that.
It doesn't even need to be that large scale. I was just trying to point out that the core idea behind that ult would be better than what is currently going to happen. You could even take that concept and scale it back like this: > Chronobreak (R): > > Ekko generates up to 1/2/3 time-warp charges periodically. He can cast this spell to apply the charge on an enemy champion, and then cast again in order to reverse time for both of them, returning them to the location they were at a few seconds ago. Health and mana are restored to what they were at that point in time for the enemy champion only. Also, I like Nilok's idea of how Ekko gains a damage bonus against marked enemies. Makes sense to me.
: I can't find the source, but I do remember seeing a Rioter mention that Ekko's kit wasn't what was in the video. Plus, from a gameplay perspective, a kit in the style of "Edge of Tomorrow" like what was featured in the Seconds teaser is just never going to work in a multiplayer game. Sorry you got your hopes up. Then again, I'm jaded from the Great Disappointments in Gaming 2014 (Watch Dogs, Destiny, Assassin's Creed: Unity, etc) so it doesn't surprise me that the actual kit is nothing like the cinematic. Get on my level of no expectations, all aboard the no-hype express. Edit: Also, you can't reasonably post a poll asking if his kit "feels" right or wrong since he's literally going up on the PBE as I type. No one's played him yet. You can't have an informed opinion about his kit.
No, dammit. I won't hop aboard the no-hype express. Witcher 3 is going to be amazing. I believe.
: Well his ult states it recovers a PORTION of the health lost. Compare that to the video, where Ekko has his arm broken when the Juggernaut steps on it, only to rewind and his arm is clearly still hurting, but functional. His broken arm was healed, but not entirely.
Really? Because aside from the part where his body automatically goes through the motions of rewinding time, he doesn't use that arm at all for the rest of the video. That doesn't really look like it's functional to me.

: What's your League of Legends Origin Story?
I used to play dota. Scratch that. I used to play **Techies.** Loved that champion. Still love it. Probably my most favorite champion to play out of any game in existence. Absolutely embodies everything Morello hates about anti-fun, which is why he's hilariously fun. I digress though. Back then, my dota had a nasty tendency to have these mini-lag spikes, where the game would suddenly freeze for like half a second or so. Wasn't too bad, but I did die or miss out on kills a few times because of this. Anyway, it got to the point where it just became way too bothersome for me, and that was when I heard about HoN and LoL. I started off trying out LoL, and my friends got me to try HoN soon after. After playing both, I decided LoL was the superior game because whereas HoN was just a dota clone, LoL actually tried to be original in order to differentiate itself from dota. That was what got me hooked on league, I suppose.

I'm not sure how I'd feel about this. A lot of times, I just a-click in the general direction of the minions because I know I'll be attacking the closest one, which is what I want to attack. I mean, I'd adapt to this change if it went through, but I don't know if I'd like it.

You know, after playing dota 2 for a while now, I have to say that as bad as LoL players bitch about afks, dcs, trolls and the like, dota 2 is far worse.
: no, 20% lifesteal more than makes up the damage that thornmail does. a single merc scim with vamp scep or better makes thornmail almost useless
Thornmail returns 30% of the damage dealt before reduction. 30%>20% And then after that you factor in the armor and damage mitigation, further reducing damage dealt to you. So no, 20% LS does not make up for the damage thornmail does. Not at all.
Giovarco (EUW)
: If they have lifesteal, it won't hurt that much, especially if you have the shield of {{item:3072}}
If they have lifesteal, Thornmail cancels it out, and then some depending on the amount of LS they have, making them that much easier to defeat.
