You are here to control the flow of threads, not to interpret it. I said that the argument was idiotic because I think that the argument is idiotic. I don't care if you felt offended for whatever reason precious snowflake, you are not here to dictate whether someone meant something or not. : So why is Rito allowed to rip off ideas from other games and get away with it?
Why do all the fps games get free passe? Because no one cares. Every company will always make games similar to others in order to compete. After a while, whichever one is best will succeed and the rest will die off to a degree. That's how the market works in order to prevent one company from patenting a ton of genres and monopolizing the whole business. When someone criticizes a game purely for being similar to another (barring legitimate plagiarism) they are being stupid. You can say "I prefer TF2 over Overwatch because I enjoy the variety of weapons each character can equip." But saying "I like TF2 because it came first and Overwatch is a rip off" is a non argument.

: free love answer, its not some people its most people in this toxic game. the person who says quit feeding and/or person calling people the n word are normally escalated on the same system, maybe a little different. They all lead to the same thing and are considered the same thing then in the end. If people are running it down or afking that's easy to tell all the other stuff you claim people do they already do and chat on top of that. The resources not put toward the chat can then be put toward what you call the "other" stuff. Basically its your way or no way is what you say and nothing else matters. Just like this is considered a rant, i guess, hence silence and shut up is the method of your answer. Plus moving this from player behavior. This is a waste of time to write on here just same answers from "top" people with the same bottom line, your way or no way and ill be slightly nasty about saying it too. : im not mad i lost it for a whole 3 hours lol. might seem so from the sarcasm in a lot of the post might make an edit to clarify. ive only seen "spotsman like" conduct in chat a few dozen times. could flip that in reverse, imagine not getting rid of it because 10 people like it. the same 10 people who wanted the old aatrox to stay. the feature is supposed to be used as you inted but in almost a decade of playing its such a small fraction of a percent that actually used it that way. 3-4 more pings on a different key could almost handle the interactions needed for a game.
So if you specifically think the chat is useless and that it should be removed, why don't you mute all at the start of every game?
: Ive filed hundreds of them and not a single one has been "thanks for the report summoner" close to the decade Ive been playing. might just be a forums thing shedding more light on a minuscule minority. i think my stuff is fine not disputing its wrong or zomg shouldnt have done it rito.
I have had plenty of them give me instant feedback responses. They don't send an instant feedback response for every punishment. I can understand why too. For many people seeing that message that someone has been banned gives them a rush of endorphins and after so many of those messages they may start falsely reporting people just to get that message, rather than to actually punish those who break the rules.
: why not? since when is "defending yourself" wrong in any context. videogame or not. why is it wrong when someones ruining your day that you cant get the little satisfaction ruining theirs back? lose/lose with 1% win is better than lose solely on your part. if flame wars ditract from the game why not remove chat? no one likes talking to eachother and since voice chat is here just remove it and take the bad stuff with it. no minor strategy talk is worth it. if they dont then guess you have to go back to point #1 on the list. neither will flaming. BUT if they ruin your experience guess i should int back huh. thatll teach em! lol
"why not remove chat?" That's what the chat restriction was for. You seem to be angry about losing your chat privileges for breaking the rules, but you're also advocating to remove chat for everyone? If you think it's unfair that you got it taken away when you "defended yourself", imagine how unfair it would be for them to take it away from me or any of my friends who only use it for constructive planning and friendly chatting with teammates.

I'm assuming that Is because one day you ran across a toxic player ingame and now you're somehow scarred for life? Never understood how there can be so many special snowflakes in one place (these forums). This isn't really the point of the post, but if you really want me to give you an argument, here it goes. > You got your first permaban because Riot told you to stop bothering other people No, they didn't. In fact I had no idea you could even get permanently banned. I legitimately, wholeheartedly, was under the impression that this game endorsed free speech, like most other games do. My consistent toxic behavior can be attributed to many things (which is fucking irrelevant, by the way) - but the objective of my original post is to provide some insight, pointing toward the player behavior system in particular, which was literally designed to reform players, failed to do that for me. And that's ultimately what this is about. You are talking about something completely irrelevant, by the way. You're steering off the topic so hard. > Actually, it's like throwing a bowling ball at other people and complaining about the blood spatters on your coat lapel. Are you seriously trying to tell me that calling someone "dumb" is equivalent to a mass homicide? > The McDonald's coffee lawsuit was legitimate. The coffee was heated to very hazardous levels that would've given that woman third-degree burns on her mouth and esophagus if she'd drank it instead of spilling it on her lap. It's just like slipping on a wet floor. That's not necessarily the point, and you would think if the coffee was THAT hot, they wouldn't have been serving it in the first place. Surely other people drank the coffee as well, and I didn't see _several_ lawsuits pop up. Just that one. So I am under the impression that it was, in fact, not as hot as the media made it out to be and I believe the lawsuit is unjustified. Either way, making really hot coffee is hardly a crime, the same way calling someone a bitch is hardly a crime. If you decide to cut yourself because some _complete fucking stranger_ called you a bitch, that's your fault. If you spill hot coffee on your lap, that's your fault. Sticks and stones can break your bones but words will never hurt you. Right? Didn't your mother tell you that one? How did everyone become such sensitive little pussies? > Why would they try a system that didn't work a second time? It proved ineffective. The only people it helped were the sociopaths who were given free reign to ruin other people's matches to their hearts' content, and Riot is more concerned with the courteous majority. Because it's literally insane to think that someone would start _inting_ JUST because they can't type. That is fucking preposterous. Also, the proposal I gave at the end of my OP is not exactly a "permanent mute". It serves a much greater function and I suggest you reread it because it is not at all identical as to what Riot had put in place in the past. I believe my idea is much more superior in comparison to their pathetic attempt. > If someone just "can't refrain" from robbing banks, that means they will be pursued, tried, and possibly convicted and imprisoned, You are demonizing me. Do not compare me to a fucking criminal. I am nothing of the sort. > Maybe you should consider seeking that kind of help, if the consequences of the actions you can't restrain yourself from cause you so much distress. Now you're patronizing me. You realize this is completely unprovoked, right? Hard to take you seriously when you continuously insult me in your 'argument'.. if I can even call it that, since you really haven't given me a valid reason as to why my proposal is wrong, you're just trying to defame me as if you had some sort of psychological vendetta.
"Now you're patronizing me. You realize this is completely unprovoked, right?" Are you actually complaining about someone patronizing you after you call people "snowflakes" for not wanting to be called the n word? There is so much double think in your comments.

To wit: _When Dr. Samuel Johnson had finished his great lexicography, the first real English dictionary, he was visited by various delegations of people to congratulate him, including a delegation of London's respectable womanhood, who came to his parlor in Fleet Street and said, "Doctor, we want to congratulate you on your decision to exclude all indecent words from your dictionary." And he said, "Ladies, I congratulate you on your persistence in looking them up."_ _If people are determined to be offended, if they will climb up on the ladder, balancing it precariously on their own toilet cistern, to be upset by what they see through their neighbors' bathroom window, there's nothing you can do about that._ Those who are determined to be "offended" will discover a provocation somewhere. We cannot possibly adjust enough to please the fanatics, and it is degrading to make the attempt.
Man, none of y'all have ever been called a degrading term over a disability you have no control over, huh? I guess when you live your whole life not knowing how it feels, you can just go ahead and claim nothing is a slur. I'm not going to separately reply to all six of you, literally song the same thing though, so consider this my reply to all of you. On the topic of one of you bringing up "outrage culture" I fail to see what exactly is outrageous about asking someone not to use a slur that has historically only been used to insult and degrade. I do however see a lot of outrage surrounding one team getting a WARNING (not a punishment) over an obvious attempt to BM another team. But I'm done reiterating the plethora of reasons as to why their bans don't make any sense in a competitive viewpoint. If y'all wanna keep thinking that there was a real reason they banned shit that hasn't been seen in pro play in a year, that's on you.

Just like they would if they banned all dark skinned champs against a team comprised of black players. It is obviously disrespectful and being disrespectful to your coworkers will get you a warning from HR in any work place. On the second point only: No. It’s not the same. If I make a team of all top lane mains, and they get top laners banned against them, that would be the same scenario. In this instance, the banned champs were Janna, Lulu, Nami, Thresh, and Braum. So, beyond being all supports, against a team that is mostly support mains, what’s the actual issue here?
Because half of the champions they banned are not competitively viable and they only banned them in an attempt to be disrespectful by using the "women can only play support" meme.

Just like they would if they banned all dark skinned champs against a team comprised of black players. It is obviously disrespectful and being disrespectful to your coworkers will get you a warning from HR in any work place. Commenting on events and making actually a valid comparison isn't a "hate speech" just because it isn't patting everyone on their backs. When "X person" is playing badly, it's ok to say they're playing badly. Suddenly when "Y person" is playing badly, you're not allowed to say anything because you'll hide behind a hate speech? So if you target ban 5 top lane champs it's fine, but target ban 5 support champions (that are also played in other positions btw) and it's "disrespectful", "discriminating" or "hate speech"? That makes absolutely no sense and you don't understand what "equality" means, so maybe you should stop using it as an argument (or more of a way to shut down anything someone says when you disagree with it). >Just like they would if they banned all dark skinned champs against a team comprised of black players. 1. Make a team "comprised of black players" 2. Make sure they only grind dark skinned champions as their mains 3. Nobody can target ban them in pro play, because that's insensitive. That's literally what you just said, buddy. Congrats.

: I can understand Vega Squadron but punishing ROX is beyond rtarded. I can't contribute anything that hasn't already been said in the Reddit post so I'll just paraphrase 2 Reddit posts that summarize my feelings on this matter. 1) Banning them for "gender discrimination" doesn't look so good when you're an organization that puts female low Dia players vs male Challenger players and then streams the humiliation of those female players live. What a fucking joke Riot RU, if anyone should be banned it's you for allowing this in the first place. 2) Riot RU compromized their ladder by letting in a low Dia team in in the first place, they make Riot and the LCS RU look like a fucking joke of a company and not the serious esports organization they want to be. So again, if anyone should be ashamed for this it's Riot, not the CHALLENGER players who have to play against LOW DIA players. Idk if anyone at Riot RU actually play League of Legends, but the difference between CHALLENGER and LOW FUCKING DIA is absolutely massive.
We're dealing with a team disrespecting a marginalised group and the first sentence you start with contains a slur? Where is the self awareness?
