: Game don't die when they get this big. They may dwindle over time but there is a core playerbase big and dedicated enough to keep them afloat. The thing that kills multiplayer games is when player count gets low enough to severely tank queue times, and then it just falls into a death spiral as the long queue times make less people want to play and the less people playing the worse the problem gets, until you eventually have something like Battleborn where you can't find enough people for a single match. : It's not the same Yugioh had the creep problem because the company itself was under pressure to make new TV series and keep pushing for physical card sales. 1. You have to add new cards and scenarios for kids to be vested into the tv series. Every tv series/movie suffers from this. Every new threat, needs to be bigger and badder. 2. New cards need to be better, even if slightly to increase the chances people buy cards. This happens in physical cards and digital content. Look at Hearthstone or WOW. This is a good look at what power creep (even if very small) does to the original content in the long term. League of Legend may be suffering from scenario #2 **BUT** Riot is also retroactively preventing it. This is what reworks are; what bi-weekly patches are. They refine or change something that is no longer good. The trick is to make sure you don't over do it. Clearly, the designer who created Yasuo and the new upcoming Akali took it too far. That designer (Imo) went past the parameters that i feel like should be fine Look at old Yugioh cards, look how weak they are. You have 8 star, 2100 ATK normal monsters. The company behind Yugioh can't do anything about it. LOL is digital only, they are able to change something that is completely dated to be a bit more fresh. So no, LOL isn't really suffering from yugioh did.

: It's hard for me to choose because so many champs I really do want to be updated, either because they really are outdated or problematic. If I had to choose 4-5 of the top tier though, it'd have to be {{champion:82}} {{champion:80}} {{champion:10}} {{champion:25}} {{champion:77}} {{champion:82}} has had more bugs than I can recall and honestly just is a really old champ. He completely relies on damage, doesn't really have a solid theme of either being a metal-mancer or soul manipulator, and let's not forget his pizza feet. Riot needs to nail down what he needs to be, cause he's one of those champs I'd love to play based on character and theme, but can't due to how he is right now. {{champion:80}} is just one dimensional, an absolute nightmare to lane against if you don't know how to play/build against him (not to mention a bit oppressive) and he just kind of serves as a cheap Spartan fantasy knock-off. There can be a lot more to him, especially now that the lore is being updated, though considering on how Targon is being hated for all the shit they've been doing I wouldn't be surprised if everyone hated him more. {{champion:10}} + {{champion:25}} has kind of been something floating around for a while as a duo rework. Plus with the somewhat lore bombs of Aatrox interacting with them, it also would help them be brought into modern League lore (since at this point everyone says they're ascended). {{champion:77}} I just straight up hate. From his looks, his lore, his gameplay, everything. He's basically an experiment of Riot for making a "no-ult champ" that is sometimes a pain in the ass to deal with. I also just don't really get the whole Ionia aspect of his base lore. SG makes sense but I'd imagine Udyr to be a bit more wild of a champ with these spirits. --- Outside of those top tier choices, some personal ones of mine would be {{champion:54}} {{champion:23}} {{champion:62}} {{champion:54}} just doesn't have a place in League's lore. He still goes off of the whole "taken from another world" story and with how League has been updating champs to be grounded in one location, that leaves the big moving mountain out of the picture.
