: Your thoughts on Executes in League?
Execute abilities as in bonus damage scaling on the target's missing health? or increasing its own damage by a percentage against targets with low health? literal instant execution? **GOOD DESIGN:** {{champion:86}} does it the best, and is the only one. A single target, melee range that properly scales on missing health with laughable base damage, yet still can be countered via MR and last second shield/heal(unless you are the villain). {{champion:202}} Ult: Still isn't technically an execute, but its fine because despite it's long range, it's still a single target skillshot. Passive: Fine but can be problematic because of {{item:3031}} 's passive. {{champion:421}} : the damage is an unfunny joke if it used on a non low health enemy, even on low without pen. still dodgeable, but have to be marked first. {{champion:6}} : Fine, a predictable skillshot that has low base damage that doesn't do anything impressive on its own unless the target is below an acceptable threshold. **ACCEPTABLE DESIGN:** {{champion:28}} 's is fine, it is increases its own damage if below a threshold, aoe but still melee, and deals magic, not true. {{champion:222}} Global aoe skillshot that also does less at point blank. it is fine but a bit too high base damage {{champion:238}} Damage is based completely around damage dealt during a 3 second period, takes landing a skillshot too. it's fine even if it is an untargetable point and click gap closer that can be used to outplay. the problem is that Zed has too much damage WITHOUT using it, and combined it can be really too much. **PROBLEMATIC:** {{champion:45}} does it bad, because it isn't really an execute. His ult is a nuke that will deal half your health when you're at max hp anyway. the bonus damage isn't even scaled on the target's missing health, but rather with it. it ensures you won't survive it, and the current pen options ensures building MR is futile. {{champion:31}} : A better version of Garen's ULT that does a flat amount of true damage like Darius's ult but has a scaling. {{champion:122}} is where it is really problematic: it is still melee like Garen's, but deals true damage. the problem is that it is resettable which leads to anti fun chain executions that can win the teamfight alone. Luckily there is STILL some ways to counter it, such as last second heals/shields, and that it takes time to stack for the full damage. **ABOMINATION** {{champion:555}} 's is the biggest problem and the most terribly designed. not only it is ranged, not only it is AOE, not only its base damage and scaling are extremely overpowered so far that you'll be executed at 50% health if you build no health, but it also ignores shields and damage reduction. AND IT IS RESETTABLE. WTF? ON AN ASSASSIN WITH GAP CLOSERS

You should make a different thread suggesting such a keystone. i doubt anyone is going to scroll in the comments for the discussion, and i'm sure the Riot staff only bother to take 1 quick glance a day at the front page.

I like your random first suggestion, but i'd say it has way too much power to be a normal rune because of the shield. it could be used as a new keystone for tanks and juggernauts that are against a ranged target. if a tanky melee champion is laning against cancer like {{champion:17}} {{champion:133}} {{champion:67}} {{champion:112}} , in this meta, it's very hard for them to survive. Grasp is instantly useless. Guardian unusable in a solo lane. Aftershock is useless and as unreliable as grasp. The extra shield could tank a couple of autos, and the constant recall could tank a couple of annoying seconds. or as Riot would put it: "If you're struggling in lane and backing a lot, this is the rune for you."
: > [{quoted}](name=Sire Hippington,realm=EUW,application-id=3ErqAdtq,discussion-id=GTcGFTAo,comment-id=00000001,timestamp=2019-01-02T19:38:22.482+0000) > > Basically this, though i disagree on one thing: Revitalise! > It's a very underated rune that has alot of value for about anyone with a shield or selfheal, which are most tanks and juggernauts, and it paris great with triumph, second wind and grasp. People seem to forget that it also affects any selfinflicted healing and shielding inclouding regen and lifesteal. i mean, heck the reason why inspiration is riots most interesting rune path is not just because the runes are more interesting than stat power. but theyre also usable by literally any champion in the game. every single inspiration rune can get picked up by every champion and have almost the same benefit (except for klepto which still favours ranged champions). this is what makes runes like demolish, second wind, boneplating and even conditioning well designed runes. the only requirement to make them scale is to build health (except boneplating which scales with level), which every champion who wants into resolve does anyway. runes like aftershock, shield bash and font of life are bad design, since they only interact with specific champion kits. overgrowth and unflinching are good ideas, theyre just too weak.
> [{quoted}](name=Critmaster Garen,realm=NA,application-id=3ErqAdtq,discussion-id=GTcGFTAo,comment-id=000000010000,timestamp=2019-01-02T19:51:47.514+0000) > > runes like aftershock, shield bash and font of life are bad design, since they only interact with specific champion kits. > don't forget that Aftershock has a better synergy with squishy champions with cc like {{champion:555}} {{champion:127}} {{champion:421}} than tanks. the effects are far more noticeable and effective.
: will demolish, font of life and shield bash ever get addressed?
why is this a surprise? tanks have no default runes, nearly all champions from all of the different classes can make better use of the resolve tree than tanks themselves.

Pyke’s Ult execution threshold should be hard capped against everyone at any stage of the game for at least 50% max HP. No matter how fed Pyke is, it should be hard capped at all costs.

{{item:3285}} should be heavily nerfed. It is 104% gold efficient without including the Echo passive. Suddenly its missing health refund, damage amps, mana and ultimate cd refund, true damage conversion, huge bursts of damage, literally free gibs, tower demolishing, max health or damage reduction in some ways, extra movement speeds, ward gimmicks and a lot of extra damage from so many different sources.

: **Warning: Lengthy post from a very passionate Shen player. ** As I'e already done on a number of Shen related posts, I'll leave my own thoughts as a Plat 300k+ Mastery Level 7 Shen main and try to address the points in your post: 1. Strictly numbers-wise, Shen is doing fine. NA op.gg has Shen at a 49.2% win rate overall, while lolalytics has him at a 50% win rate overall in the top lane. Remember that Shen is a champ balanced solely around professional and coordinated team play. That is a _very_ respectable win rate for solo queue, especially if you compare Shen to his other professionally balanced counterparts (Kalista, Ryze, Azir, Sejuani, Galio.) 2. I agree on the audio overall (voice lines wise). Shen still has the same voice lines he had from season 1, and I will admit the pool of available lines is rather... limited. Sound effects wise however, the rework was pretty spectacular. Especially the Q. Pulling your sword through someone and hitting them with those empowered "WACHUNG" autos is very satisfying. 3. His taunt hit box is quite fair for what it has to offer: a multi-man cc that can be a gapcloser, escape, and peel. It actually had its width buffed (from 100 to 120) back in patch 7.8. The taunt comes out decently fast; a good rule of thumb is that even if you're trying to land a taunt at max range from the side, make sure the edge of the indicator is just touching the edge of a champ model if you're trying to predict and lead. The shorter from max range you need to land the taunt, the more of the indicator you should place directly onto the target. (Also, make sure you're quickcasting this spell with indicators; that is, you hold down E to show the indicator line, then release E to immediately dash). 4. The Sword pulling takes some getting used to. Back when Riot reworked Shen, it was during a very strange phase where many reworks and champion kits focused around "minigames", forcing you to directly interact with your opponent for some (in theory) greater benefit than if you didn't. In Shen's case, dragging the sword through someone for higher damage than if you didn't. Enforce in your head that the whole point of the sword dragging is to give Shen a damaging ability that does 300% AD damage + 18% max. health magic damage every 5 seconds. On the bright side, I guarantee you that no one up to Diamond Elo pays attention to the giant floating sword, nor do they make any attempt to dodge it when you try to pull it through them. 5. You don't always have to use Q before W, especially in laning phase. Against certain champions, e.g. Jax, you can "hover" or stay near your floating sword. If they jump on you and attempt to use an empowered auto (e.g. Jax Q into R auto into W auto reset), pop W to block the damage, then taunt through them and then drag Q, to get your empowered autos in and trade back. 6. Yes, R into E-Q-W is 90% of what Shen does. Yes, it can be boring sometimes. But remember, _that's literally why you pick Shen_. Shen's kit is like what it currently is solely because of your ability to immediately grant someone on the other side of the map a shield and teleport to them. _Your ult is a literal game changer. _ Games are won or lost based on a single use of your ult. Save your jungle from an invade, or help him invade the enemy's jungle. Save your carry from assassination, and maybe pick off an enemy at the same time to turn the game into a 4 v. 5. Get the snowball rolling down in botlane, and get your ADC a double kill, or save both your carry and support from a gank. The possibilities are endless. 12. Again to reiterate, Shen is balanced around team play. Yes, it feels horrible to lose when you have incompetent teammates. But on the flip side, it also feels amazing to win when you do have good team members. The higher in elo you climb, the better Shen becomes, simply because your teammates are more likely to know what they're doing, and how to take advantage of having a Shen on their team. 14. Lastly, although this wasn't a point you made, if you truly want to learn and get better at Shen, join us on reddit at [r/Shen](https://www.reddit.com/r/Shen/). We're surprisingly active for such a small playerbase on a nice champion, and many of us are willing to lend advice and tips. Some of the more well known Shen one trick's (TrickyTravster, RoyTheRoyalBoy, and EUW Challenger player PetuTheBeast) tend to post frequently as well.

That is a _very_ respectable win rate for solo queue, especially if you compare Shen to his other professionally balanced counterparts (Kalista, Ryze, Azir, Sejuani, Galio.) > 2. Some of the more well known Shen one trick's (TrickyTravster, RoyTheRoyalBoy, and EUW Challenger player PetuTheBeast) tend to post frequently as well. literally wanted to make a post thrice as long as yours 2 days ago and wrote more than half of it in a txt file but gave up because fuck it, nobody listens or cares, especially not Riot
: I want to know why does this happen without any kind of reaction ?
> [{quoted}](name=MOuHahaHAhahaaaa,realm=EUW,application-id=3ErqAdtq,discussion-id=QjvmAh0o,comment-id=,timestamp=2018-12-27T19:14:12.034+0000) > - The new runes and suppression of many old items destroyed the diversity of gameplay for the same champion (in the past with old masteries and runes and with ad ap ratios there were bilions ways to play the same character). The game gets boring easily. Lie. Everything else is true
: Why is camille allowed to be the jg she is?
Any direct nerf to a jungler will impact their laning phase, but not vica versa. this is why when top laners get overly nerfed, sometimes they end up homeless and wander in the jungle. another reason for sudden role change is because they are simply more effective in the jungle than they are in top. what can you nerf about camille that won't impact her laning phase? nerfing her mobility or lockdown will impact her teamfighting. the only way i see is is to make he E range scale with rank, and make leveling it up first unviable, so that she can only reach her oppressive mobility mid/late game, but that will never happen

: Tanks are screwed
there is only 1 tank item that wasn't abused by divers/juggernauts only because they have zero use for it. {{item:3001}}

: Armor pen is infinitely healthier than true damage
Really? infinitely healthier? because the current way i see it is that armor stacking makes physical damage almost do nothing, and after 1 armor pen item it acts like the armor never existed in the first place. Riot need to balance the armor so that it would be more consistent throughout the game, stacking wouldn't be too powerful and {{item:3071}} /{{item:3036}} shouldn't instantly make it useful. Same goes for Magic damage/resist but its even worse
: I love people who say a strong champion like zed is weak while....
The game is about blowing up your enemy as fast as you can = Tanks aren't meant to do damage = Tanks are irrelevant and are in a quantum superposition
: Champions such as Velkoz & Xerath should NEVER be "supports"
Mages are viable and even overpowered. its just easier to go bot, get about the same gold, not bother with farm and harass squishies instead.
