: Hows everyone's Friday?
New Jojo Op is good, so not too bad.
: Why do you guys keep overloading kits?
In the recent reworks, Riot has overloaded the champs. Akali being a the best example along with Fiora (the huge amount of true damage she is able to deal and the infinite dashes along with a slow). Not much can be done though, it's very hard to balance champs like these especially with so many people using them. The best thing you can do is just ban her (which a lot of people do).

: If they're muted, no-one will see the insults. You can still report them and they'll still get punished. There's literally no downside to not being able to get insulted.
I have to see the insult to report them.
: yep that would be
But according to other people, I should just mute and let them insult and berate my friends and myself.
: Oh, the system and I can tell the difference. But nothing that you were doing was really bantering. You were being inflammatory and insulting. Teasing and joking, while saying "nice flash" when they fail, or "haha try again" are game related banters. There's nothing wrong with that. You, however, you were being personal, you were calling the player a homophobe, ignorant, and childish. Those aren't bantering. That's straight up insulting, toxic, and inflammatory. What you may consider mild is irrelevant in this case. There are no "mild toxicity" or "Extreme toxicity" when it comes to the penalty system. There's just simply Toxic. That's it. As for the Pyke, he's not going to be the topic here. No one cares about what he did or what he said. Because when it comes to your case, this case is about you and you alone. If that Pyke came here with the same topic, blaming it on someone else, we'd say the exact same thing to him as what I am saying to you. Pyke here is irrelevant and not the problem. The problem is how you handled the situation. A penalty is a penalty. We all get the same warnings. No special privileges. If you were suspended for 14 days, heed the warning, next time mute the player. For your next suspension will be the last for your account. If you were permanently suspended... Well.. You're either part of the game or part the problem. Permaban means you were the problem.
It may be, but its all true, he was homophobic, ignorant and childish. I guess the community has become so sensitive that saying things like that is on the same lines as being racist or homophobic. Didn't know it was a crime to call people out on their shit. I probably should've muted him, but that doesn't change the fact that he was extremely offensive. You cannot compare the two issues, I handled it the way anyone who cares should, defending their sexuality and friends.
: what really qualifies homophobia anyways gay and fa g are not imo homophobic words. racism yea i understand that, but unless you are bashing on someone and belittle them by saying like "gays make me sick" yea thats should be ban worthy but just calling someone a fa g eh i dont think thats ban worthy.
He said "Go jerk yourselves off like the %%%gs you are." That's homophobic.
: It is fair. Why? Because you retaliated against toxicity with toxicity. It wasn't just what you said that was against zero-tolerance policy, but your attitude in general. How in anyway in your head did you think flaming back was going to solve anything? Toxic is toxic, regardless of who starts it. All you had to do was mute them.
There is a really fine line between banter/arguing and toxicity. I feel as though what I said was not close to as toxic as what he said. Sure toxicity is toxicity but the same for crimes, there are different levels. There are misdemeanors and felonies, both are bad, but one is more heavily punished. If I had to classify it, his was a felony and mine a misdemeanor not worth of a suspension, but Chat Restriction.
: I reported a duo for some absurd behavior a few days ago, no notification from riot, but neither of them has played a game since..
Hopefully they were punished in some way. I feel as though the system is flawed. I feel that there shouldn't be an automatic system unless reported for Hate Speech or Inting. Riot's system picks out words that fit their criteria for punishment and it can be extremely out of context.
: > [{quoted}](name=DrtyTrouserSnake,realm=NA,application-id=ZGEFLEUQ,discussion-id=ewlyMQHr,comment-id=00000000,timestamp=2018-06-19T20:26:22.515+0000)My friend also reported him for the same thing, no sign of punishment so far. But you're not wrong, just no sign of the other guy being punished yet. You do not always get informed when a punishment is sent out. It's possible than the other individual either received one or received significant progress towards one, and it's honestly hard to say which it likely is without having seen the chat logs of the other individual.
That's true, I always wondered, why does Riot only include your chat logs, puts things extremely out of context.
: Riots punishment system is broken as f. You don't even have to say anything offensive and you can get banned. Its ridiculous. Riot needs to stop with the immediate bans and punishment over simplifying the punishment system is ruining the game. Cant talk smack anymore, might as well just play the game with everyone muted.
I agree and disagree, sometimes it works, but yeah automatic punishment is overall trash. Especially for such a big company. You get in trouble for stupid things, but when someone says something that is actually messed up (Actual racism or homophobia) they get away with it.
: You flamed back, all of you probably got treated exactly the same, as you deserved. "they started it" does not work in court, or in league.
My friend also reported him for the same thing, no sign of punishment so far. But you're not wrong, just no sign of the other guy being punished yet.

: Riot: Pushes crit ADC's back to 30-35 minutes, but does everything to make games end before 25...
Riot has a real problem in the balancing department. When they update items, they never find a good middle, they either ruin or overpower the item and who can use them. Taking away Giant Slayer to make way for the new Infinity Edge True Damage was not a good idea. I personally would love to have Giant Slayer back because I don't build IE on every ADC I play and not having that health damage (unless I have bork) is basically asking for tank meta. Just a thought though.
Chermorg (NA)
: If you'd read the comments and the chat logs, they were not punished for cussing. Their attitude was that of an ass the entire game, they repeatedly flamed teammates, and they gave up and continually tried to pressure their team to give up in chat. I strongly suspect this is the case for your friends as well - they refuse to admit they were toxic in game, and as such they try to claim it was "for nothing" when they're really just leaving out 99% of the information.
I was in those games, they were not toxic besides for the "Shut the fuck up." I don't know if it was a rare case of IFS scanning, I know Riot can't go through every game personally, but their system is definitely flawed. I know this is off topic, but I heard last season, honor was sped up and it was still a ridiculously tedious climb. I barely reached level 3 and I was constantly receiving honors.
Chermorg (NA)
: I think there was definitely changes needed to ADC itemization - it was very **very** boring and the same thing every single game and virtually the same between champions even. I think you're looking at this from a view of trying to find any way to say that they've changed, but they've made changes like crit since before Tencent owned them. Large changes, that many players don't understand, but have reasoning and actually end up making the game more fun in the long run.
You're probably right, I haven't been playing close to as long as you, I'm just going off my own personal experience. Even if you don't agree with me on the Tencent part, you really can't argue that the current balance team is doing their job very well. They have implemented many ridiculous changes, and player outcry supports that. I think Riot really needs to rethink who is leading the Balance team.
Chermorg (NA)
: I would love for you to link me to someone punished **only** for cursing, but no bad behavior. The IFS does not "scan for keywords" - it doesn't care if you fucking curse so long as you aren't doing so while violating the rules. Swears are not prohibited at *all*.
I don't know how reliable this is, but this guy supposedly got restricted for cussing and nothing else. I have also had people I know be restricted for telling people to "Shut the fuck up" and nothing more. [Chat Restricted for Cursing](https://www.reddit.com/r/leagueoflegends/comments/8c1877/chat_restricted_after_one_game_i_only_used_2_or_3/)
Chermorg (NA)
: Riot has **always** factored money into the skins they choose to create. They are a company, after all. I have been playing since Season 1. It has always been that aside from skins decided by non-Riot (ex: eSports skins), money is a small but albeit noticeable factor in their skin creation calendar.
Even if you don't factor in the skins, they have changed gameplay to fit the pro's needs. If you are an adc main, you would know that he new changes to crit were not necessary and were change for changes sake. I'm not here to argue but discuss. We both have differing opinions and I think that's necessary for a board to work correctly.
Ulanopo (NA)
: I can understand the appeal of the idea in general, but it goes against the notion of reform. Simply put, Honor is not always - or even frequently - awarded for being a positive person. Often it's nothing more than a reflection of performance (I know I get more Honor when we win and when I do well). Given that the punished player doesn't have any control over this (they can't guarantee they'll do well every game) and because it isn't direct feedback on the behavior that got them in trouble to begin with, I feel this would ultimately not work.
There should be two different honors for each player. One for someone who played well (maybe they carried or really assisted the team) and another for being kind or fun. I know this is really kinda reaching, but I think it could work. Also, bringing back honoring enemy teams would really be a blessing. Some of the best people I've played with (Personality wise) have been on the opposite team.
Chermorg (NA)
: Money and pro play haven't taken over at all. I know multiple people who work for Riot - and players are still their priority in everything they do. Tencent doesn't control Riot at all anymore than you can claim that any other company with stock in another controls it. Tencent owning Riot's stock only really gives them influence over the board of directors, and they don't actually exercise any of that influence to my knowledge - they let Riot do Riot so long as owning the stock continues to be profitable for Tencent. Put shortly, Tencent doesn't care. Nothing has actually changed since Tencent bought the share of Riot.
Since Tencent has taken over, there have definitely been changes. Such as champs like Lux and Ahri receiving more skins for the money while fans cry out for skins for forgotten champs. Sol has still not received a second skin, same with Camille and Taliyah. Yet Jhin is over here with 4 or 5. If you can still call them the same company they were before Tencent, I have to respectfully disagree.
Chermorg (NA)
: Well.. I disagree. If they're reported, and it's valid, they obviously aren't phased by the chat restriction and it's not working. A valid report *while on an active punishment* should immediately escalate to the next highest punishment. If someone's *on* punishment and still didn't care to improve, the punishment didn't work and harsher punishment needs applied.
But what if it wasn't valid, I have known people to be punished by the IFS just for having cuss words. I know that's the not the case super often, but that does happen. I feel like for a game that online play isn't rated by ESRB, they punish people for using swears more than they should. Again, often people get what they deserve, but using a bot to ban/restrict people is a little ridiculous for such a massive company.
Chermorg (NA)
: I'm not sure why you're getting downvoted. I do think that it wouldn't hurt to implement something such as: getting honors during your chat restriction from non-premade teammates will result in you gaining chat faster during the game (ex: 5 seconds faster per message per game you're honored in) or getting an extra message or two at the start.
Exactly, that would be a good thing to implement. And if you get reported during your restriction the timer increases. I honestly think this would be a great help to those trying to reform.
Chermorg (NA)
: I hate to be this guy, but if you think you can do better, [go help them out](https://www.riotgames.com/careers).
I feel like at the point Riot is at, Tencent has completely taken control. Even if people applied there and got hired, their ideas wouldn't be take into consideration unless there was a way to make money attached to it. Money and Pro play has taken over, the average gamer isn't their demographic anymore.
mabdu (NA)
: This game is super fun but it's ruined by the current feedback system. Come on Riot you make so much money you have no excuse for not creating a better system.
I love how people are simply down voting this post when I'm simply giving a suggestion that is actually reasonable. Some people are so ignorant to Riot's shitty practices since Tencent took over and will randomly down vote for no reason. And I agree, they can easily make a better system, they are not the little indie comapany they used to be.
: Getting honored will speed up your journey out of honor level 0. That's it.
I'm just saying, that's long term, it'd be nice if Riot implemented a little "pick me up" as short-term motivation. I'm honor level 1 I think.
mabdu (NA)
: You're talking to deaf ears mate. The current IFS team are a disaster. I have no idea how they haven't been replaced yet.
Just like how the balance team is barely non-existent. Been playing this game for around 3 years and the changes they are making are a joke.

Considering most of my games are norms I don't think that really relates.

Why do you give a shit about normals and ARAM? They're meme modes people go to for practice or to play meme picks like full MR Heimer.
