: Champ Mastery Costs, Masterwork Chests, and Some Loot Buffs
What about duplicate mythic skins? I have a Hextech Annie skin shard and it only disenchants into orange essence (650 when I last checked).

: Runes, Expectation, and the FUTUUUUUUUUUUUUUUURE!
Are you planning on enabling PBE sign-ups for more testers? I had a PBE account from around 2013 and occasionally dipped in for testing purposes, but it was disabled without warning because it was so old. I would love to help test runes for you but everyone I've spoken to told me there's no way to re-instate my PBE account or sign up for a new one.

That would be fine, tbh I'd never touch the new one though and haven't really found even one person who prefers it.

Getting _at most_ 1 honor capsule every 3 weeks feels pretty bad, especially when my last one gave me an Ashe champion shard and two key fragments. I own every champion.
: Warning: frank discussion incoming. One of the things we haven't talked about a lot with you guys, but which should come as no surprise, is that Riot does make revenue on runes, which we ultimately invest back into League to make the game better. This is indirect revenue, because it comes from players purchasing champions with RP since they don't have available IP to get those champions, since some of that IP goes towards runes. Freeing up rune IP (in the absence of any other changes) would let players buy a bunch of champions and spend less RP overall. Now we *are* making some other changes to the system, but overall, Riot is losing money on this deal. Potentially a lot of money. This was something we had to talk about a lot internally, but everyone was ultimately behind the decision, all the way to Tryndamere and Ryze. I don't want to make too big of a deal out of this, but if we seem cautious with some of our decisions here, this is part of the reason why. (Another big one obviously is that we are taking a gamble by overhauling such a core part of the game for something that we believe will be better.) We are making the new runes free because we believe 1) That it's the right thing to do for League and for League players, and 2) Our business model has always been to make a fun game that players want to keep coming back to year after year. Runes Reforged is a long-term bet on League of Legends (and Riot for that matter). If we thought that Rune Pages made no sense with the new design and risked feeling like a cash grab, we would absolutely just kill them as a feature. But we have found they are useful with Runes Reforged, just less mandatory than they were before. Definitely open to discussion on this topic however.
The honesty is appreciated, along with de-monetizing an aspect of the game for the good of the community. The majority of game developers go in the opposite direction, usually choosing to charge for things that should be free, so I really can't underscore that it's really cool of you guys to do the right thing. As far as rune pages...I still see the value in mine. I prefer to pay attention to picks and bans, and maybe look up some last-minute stats, rather than change my pages (esp. since the pages UI can't be minimized - if you need to peek at champ select, you either save your changes halfway through or just start over again). I'm also set-and-forget and tend to create a list at the beginning of a season and tweak on a need-to basis. That being said though, I understand how some players feel like they paid for their ice cream at the door, and new players get to experience it for free because of what they already chipped in. Finding a way to mitigate that is tough. The "exclusive event runes" didn't really seem fair in the long run. Limited skins/cosmetics to a particular cutoff date is something you're (rightfully) trying to do away with. I guess a partial IP/RP refund for the rune page purchase, even if it's something like 50%, would go over well with people and be a sign of goodwill. As an aside...plans to re-release Riot Singed?
: Yeah, this is a big problem for people who've been playing for a while. All that IP is about as useful as the Chuck-E-Cheese tokens in the bottom of my underwear drawer. I don't want to spoil anything, but we've got some plans in the works to address this. We can't say more until early September, but we hear ya.
Somewhat related, a few years ago you were toying with an idea to reward cosmetics for the amount of lifetime RP spent. A few months later, it was cancelled, presumably to avoid free players feeling alienated. I was wondering if you guys have thought about that since and have any ideas making the rounds.

: Microsoft stopped supporting Windows 7 in 2015. Half of users still use it. Riot still supports it. 1/5 of Mac users are still on Lion. 1/5 of Windows users are still on Windows 8.
Incorrect. Windows 7 will still be supported by Microsoft for another 2 1/2 years. Support is "stopped" when Microsoft stops giving security updates and ends extended support. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/13853/windows-lifecycle-fact-sheet

: Windows 7 came out in 2009. That's still supported.
3 versions of Windows vs. 6 versions of OS X. Mac upgrades are generally smaller improvements and are free. Windows upgrades change a lot more and cost money (recent exception for Win 10, which the free aspect is now over). They'll probably support Windows 7 as long as Microsoft does. Supporting the smaller OSX releases for 6+ years doesn't make business sense.

: Patch 5.17 Notes
I really hope you re-think what you're doing with the PROJECT skins. FULL price and a border or early discount and no border...either way you also have full price icons. That's just wrong and against what you guys have been doing.
: Flash didnt kill you. Riot has bugs often like I remember the flash icon was pulsing on sunfire cape a couple moths ago. It probably just was bugged and said flash killed you.
Flash pulsing on sunfire cape sounds like a graphics card issue.
: I still do not believe you should be able to lose more LP than you gain
I agree. It's just not feasible and it keeps a lot of people (imo) out of ranked. Sure, I COULD play 300 games and even out my MMR so that it's "accurate" but I don't have that kind of time, patience, or League self-esteem to keep pressing the lever for an unrewarding system. There needs to be a better way to identify where you belong in ranked.

: Icons from down under
Really? *More icons for **RP***? Give us a break! The other regions didn't have to pay RP for all of them. And how many of our icons did they get?
: > Corki and other players on both teams cannot see his E's cone of effect because it looks like a line of raindrops at the edge of its range. It's a legit gripe. We've seen other AoE buttons get a clear delineation of where they will hit, and it seems all upside to me. > From a gameplay standpoint, I think his E would be a much better ability if you could select where the cone goes (and then are locked in that direction until cancelled, like Lucian's ult). This is a problematic mechanic. Currently Corki E is strong when chasing and useless when kiting. If you make it work like Lucian R, it's strong in both usage models. It's a big design shift that I don't think will work out well.
Thank you for pointing that out - I didn't clarify that I meant within a 180 degree cone of where he is facing on activation (or even 90 would work fine).

: They did explain this. Legendary skins are now price protected. When you buy those old Legendary skin, you're not only buying the skin itself. Like it or not, you're also buying the prestige and exclusivity of that skin. I'm NOT saying I agree or disagree with this approach, I am just here to give the reasoning.
But it's not in the price guidelines. Unwritten rules shouldn't apply here.
Piticus (NA)
: This generally has happened due to those summoenrs buying those skins full price the night before the sale has happened or a day before not realizing the sale was going on.
Then they can contact support, who sometimes honors the "I bought it right before a sale" excuse. That's why they forecast the larger sales in advance now.

: Annie in Wonderland is one. I own it. I got it from a 490RP mystery gift, but still.. It's definitely not legendary skin material. In fact, I don't believe any of Annie's are even worth 975.. They stay too basic.
Yeah, it's boggling that Wonderlannie was EVER considered that tier. I have to say though, Pandannie and Goth Annie are worth the price. Goth Annie is 950ish if you own all of the champs in the bundle already (which was a controversial change).
: IDK if Black Frost Anivia is old......but it is a beautiful skin, it is my favorite by far :)
Blackfrost Aniv isn't old by my standards, but you're right - it's a gorgeous skin.
: Actually, with the perfect example being Tristana, these skins are getting reworked to be MUCH better once they get to the champions, just give it time, cause once those old champions and legendaries are updated, they'll be worth the price.
Firefighter Trist isn't "much better" - it's like a standard 1350 skin.
: Because if they lowered the price, people who own them would bitch. Were you not there when they sold the old, old legendary for half price before removing them? The shitstorm was massive. Personally I don't care, I paid 1820 for them and enjoyed my usage, if they were to lower the price it would change absolutely nothing for me, but some people might decide they are worth it for them at 975 and buy it, So while I personally support you OP, it's extremely unlikely that they will do it. That and Hippalus would probably set his own mother on fire before "lowering profit" on those skins.
I was there for that, actually. And you know what I remember? GD being flooded with threads of "Hey, 900 odd RP just showed up in my account." "I was just given 1800 RP?!" "Riot, thanks for the RP!" You know what that was? Riot refunding the difference that people had paid because legendaries are price-protected.
Lukaol (EUW)
: Those who actually bought those legendary skins paid the full price and it would be unfair to lower it now...
Legendary skins are price-protected. This means if they see a drop in price (even temporarily), people who own the skin are refunded the difference immediately.
: You know what else isn't in their price breakdown? You "feeling like the skin is worth 1850 RP". It matches the price requirements. Maybe not as much as you personally want them to. That's cool. You don't have to buy them. But they don't need to reduce the prices that they followed because you personally think they could've done a better job.
Do you have a specific example in mind? I don't know how I'm supposed to respond to vague arguments.

I think this is a defining factor in Riot's choice to be mute over it. if a skin goes on sale Riot doesn't owe you any kind of refund. Thats like saying Walmart or some fucking place like that owes you a refund if they decide to put something on sale you bought 2 weeks prior
Check your attitude. That's common sense. In the past, they HAVE given out price-match refunds for legendaries. People have seen RP given to them when Alien Invader Heim and Firefighter Trist were retired to legacy and placed in a 50% off sale. Also, because legendaries are price-protected, they will do that EVERY time a legendary skin sees any kind of price reduction, which is why that has happened exactly once since League has been released.
: They have plans to puff up legendary skins with Champion VUs as far as I've heard. The champion VUs are far off, yes, but when they happen it'll be glorious.
Right, but it's been two years since the price points were laid out. I don't think "when it happens, it will" is good enough for them to continue to contradict themselves.
: As long as people continue to pay legendary prices for lackluster skins, Riot has no incentive whatsoever to change the pricing structure. Quite the opposite, in fact. Once people stop buying said skins, they'll consider adjusting the cost.
Additionally, the problem is that they need to refund people whenever the skin changes in price (even if it's temporarily put on sale). I think this is a defining factor in Riot's choice to be mute over it.
: I skimmed over the champions you listed in your post. None of them were mispriced per the guidelines, except possibly Gentleman Cho, who should get a bit of leeway for being such an original and defining skin.
You skimmed it and you're going to try and argue with me? I broke down, skin by skin, what qualified it as a legendary or non-legendary skin. Also, "original and defining skin" isn't in their price breakdown.

: *cough*Gnar*cough*
Uh...good point, actually. I didn't even consider Gnar. I don't think the big ears look good on Trist, but they're being consistent with the "new" Yordle design. I could try to make a case that since Gnar is so old, modern Yordles have evolved smaller ears.
: http://i.imgur.com/p8cGc9k.jpg there are flying animals with proportionally large eats they wanted to make her more yordle (aka more animal like) since the meglings were retconned
So...is she meant to look like a bat or a rat? I totally understand making her more animal-like, but I think they went overboard with the ears.
: what do ears have to do with being a gunner?
Easy - they make her less aerodynamic. Plus, a strong wind could flap them into her face.

: I agree he could use a few QoL changes like the range indicator on W like you mentioned. But first, a visual update. He looks like a bean bag with a rubber band on the center.
I also thinks he needs a minor kit redesign, as his E is one of the worst abilities in the game to play against. It's so hard to kill a Kennen because he can just instantly get away.
