: The champion with the absolute worst skin selection.
The great thing about this thread is coming back to it now knowing that Kassadin is about to get a beast of a new skin.
: Why would Riot have to apologize to Yasuo fans? He has a shitton of other skins. Meanwhile, Aurelion barely got his third skin which was Grade A shit and nobody gave a damn.

He has a shitton of other skins. Meanwhile, Aurelion barely got his third skin which was Grade A shit and nobody gave a damn. Well, the concept of a wind-controlling samurai in an old-school 2-dimensional game could make for a really fun and creative skin, if Riot had put some effort into it. Instead it was a pretty bland skin with simple pixels in place of his wind effects, even if the skin's splash art and lore were pretty cool. A disappointment and a missed opportunity is still a disappointment and missed opportunity, whether he has other good skins or not. In fact, his other good skins just make that one worse, since his other skins like Odyssey and Yasuo show the level of quality Riot *could* have done, had they actually given it more thought. So, hopefully, this would bring that level of quality back, for people who like the champion.

The thing is, we're still not sure what *kind* of rap it is, if it's full rap or some kind of subgenre/mixture with another genre. For example, K/DA is full pop, but Pentakill strays away from full metal and is often more like symphonic metal (which fits the fantasy members).

Camille, when promised a skin for last year, got hers in the second-to-last patch of the year herself. Quite satisfying to her fans who know that she hates snow. Plus, I don't think Zilean would really be the kind of champion to fit this skinline anyway... I'm especially curious if he'll be in the same skinline as the upcoming Thresh skin; makes me wonder what kind of skinline could tie the two together. Maybe Omen of the Dark?

Kayn skins take a lot of work, which people seem to forget since his first post-release skin was a legendary. That's not to say they wouldn't have been cool picks, but there are definite reasons as to why they're not there.
Arakadia (NA)
: Project Akali looked shitty cause they based her colors off you getting the Ruby Chroma, at which point it looked much more cohesive. I can't say many champions "deserve" another skin because their last one did shitty, which is Riot's fault. Lots of champion's get skins that fall flat, and its unfortunate but not a reason to just make another. I literally have no clue why Riot would leave major marketing decisions up to performers and I think its just an excuse to say "well we had no choice but to give it to Akali and Yasuo :)". Assuming that they did let the performers choose.

Assuming that they did let the performers choose. Oh of course; I mean, there are numerous numerous reasons to dislike Project Akali. The chromas and all the issues that come with them are just others to add to the list. As I mentioned, I am *not* saying that Akali and Yasuo "deserve" them, but them getting these skins is simply *more* justified than if Riot instead gave another skin to, say, Lux, whose skin earlier this year was rather well-received in it of itself and much more liked by her fans, even if it was criticized for being a cash-grab choice of a champion for the skinline. And part of the reason Riot would let the artists choose would be part of the appeal for the artists to come and work with them on this song, depending on which artists they actually got this year. If I'm not mistaken, I believe the K/DA ladies all had some influence on their champion and said champion's skin (correct me if I'm wrong). That's not to say it would, even then, make Yasuo and Akali "deserve" these skins, not by any means, but it would simply be another point of justification, because Riot wouldn't be directly in the choosing, similar to how Worlds skins go, where, for example, Fiora got two skins within a quarter of a year this spring.

It's a shame too; champions like Ivern and Nunu could have really fun skins in it. And Neon Strike itself could be a fun sub-skinline; you could add Jayce, Jarvan, Katarina...

I'm thinking the new bio didn't retcon everything; it just shortened it. But all your points would definitely explain why Senna was able to keep her cool. Also, since they are souls in his lantern, the "psychological vs physical" torture was probably always one in the same.
Rioter Comments
: So when is Riot starting a clothing line based off these kids?
I love that they represent the modern take on vampire-esque gothic fiction, while Vladimir is the classic take. That's just perfect.
: Honestly, I'd think the Ruined King would be a mage considering his lore states that he has some sort of magical aptitude.

Hmmm, that doesn't necessarily mean he's a mage though. It would be weird to see a champion with a sword as such a big part of his character and have him not use it. He could definitely be an AP assassin though, or a hybrid one.
: Sooner or later, we are going to have to see the ruined king in game
I think it was already pretty indubitable that we'll get the Ruined King as a champion at some point, but Senna's biography seals the deal. It'll probably be after a little while though; even though Senna isn't directly a Shadow Isles champion, she's way too tied to the Shadow Isles to not be counted with her as a "Shadow Isles addition". The question is whether we should receive him first or Ledros. I'd assume the Ruined King would be an assassin, given his item and how his blade should look (plus the fact that the Shadow Isles have no assassin yet), and Ledros will probably be a juggernaut fighter, which is especially confirmed by his new Legends of Runeterra art. I want them both in the game, but I have no idea which one should come first. I suppose probably the Ruined King, since he's been built up for a long time.

So does this confirm that Jinx and Vi are indeed sisters? I don't think it confirms it exactly, but it definitely shows they had a past together. This could mean they were blood sisters or people who just sort of "adopted" each other, so to speak, as figurative sisters. Clearly they were close friends nonetheless.

No; Thresh enjoys torturing people and giving out pain. An unambigous character of black morality, so to speak. Of course, he was messed up quite a bit by some artifacts on the Blessed Isles, and even more so when he became a specter, but it's implied that he was already kind of messed up beforehand. God-King Darius's philosophy could be taken as one that benefits society, if taken in small doses. However, I actually think that both he and God-King Garen are both supposed to be taken as *bad*, in that sense, since they both take those fine-at-their-core ideologies to the point of extremes. Conversely, Nightbringer Yasuo and Dawnbringer Riven can easily be viewed as both *good*, since they more represent the benefits of Order and Chaos respectively, and it helps that those two are implied to be lovers and the ancestors of the God-Kings (they're confirmed as the individual ancestors of their respective "order and chaos" counterparts, but it's highly likely that Garen and Darius are descendants through Riven and Yasuo's children through each other. That's one reason I want to see a Shen vs Zed Versus event so badly, because they would fit perfectly as Riven and Yasuo's actual brother children, and in this universe, they would actually be blood brothers for the first time).

The actual Versus events are about characters with whom you might actually *want* to side in life, so, for example, Ashe vs Sejuani is a potential Versus event, but either Ashe or Sejuani vs Lissandra would not be. Now if there could be a kind of *canon* Versus event for them, just for whether or not people like their champions, that would be cool. Thing is, we already know Lucian wins this fight and gets Senna back anyway.

: I think it would be cool if Yordles' were just ordinary mammalian bipeds in ancient times that ascended to the Spirit Realm. There's a sort of MASSIVE plot hole in Gnar who evolved into modern day Yordles, but why would a spiritual being iterate biologically over several generations when they can just change on a dime with spirit magic like Glamour or whatnot? It would be cool if Gnar represented that "grassroots" Yordle of before, but then at some point the Yordles found Bandle City which has occupied different races before them and then they "ascended" (I know that's a celstial concept maybe "crossed over" is a better way to describe it) into spiritual beings.

Apparently Yordles (and closely related spirits like Yuumi) "evolved" with humans, since they all reflect them. Gnar reflected early Freljord tribes, who hadn't developed much in the way of civilization yet. And he's probably the oldest Yordle chronologically, whereas other Yordles seem to reflect parts of Runeterra as they are today, perhaps developing along with them as they go. I remember hearing a Rioter or someone quoting one that Yordles find something that they attach to at some point in their lives (ex. Poppy finding her cause to "find" the Hero of Demacia, Tristana enjoying building guns and leading the charge to defend Bandle city like various military troops, especially naval fleets, Ziggs finding out how much he loves making explosives, etc.).

All the people who make fun of Lucian losing his wife are going to have been played for FOOLS now. And yeah I'd love him and Senna to have some interacting. They need some skins together too. High Noon especially, since Lucian has a legendary there and she's such a big part of his story.

I imagine Freljord mostly barters, and maybe Buhru and a lot of Shurima too (though possibly the latter has currency in the more urban places?). Ionia I can imagine having a currency though, maybe more common in the urban areas, and perhaps it could even be different from region to region, given their geography and decentralization. I would imagine Ixtal has a currency as well, what with all their treasured resources. Icathia and the Blessed Isles I also imagine having currency once upon a time, but, you know, both of those regions don't really have much use for money anymore...

Win-win. :3 But that's just for me. > [{quoted}](name=AbiwonKenabi,realm=NA,application-id=6kFXY1kR,discussion-id=rBnl8KET,comment-id=0001000000000000,timestamp=2019-10-01T01:17:11.553+0000) > > Kumungu jungle basically got turned into Ixtal jungle, hence why some champions are naturally from there (particularly Zyra, Nidalee, Rengar. Malphite had no home formerly and Neeko is newer). But I get what you're saying too; Qiyana is the only Champion associated with Ixtal's faction or the actual culture rather than just the place, the jungle itself. Nidalee is from Ixtal itself too, it's implied, but her family seems to have been part-vastayan villagers from the fringes of the society. I wouldn't mind simply seeing her lore move forward, visiting her old village, maybe finding her family and discovering her past, and thus, we can learn a bit more about the periphery of Ixtal. Then again, I wouldn't mind an Ixtal villager who's actually more connected to the villages than Nidalee, of course.

: Leblanc Visual Update?
LeBlanc's kit isn't bad enough to warrant a rework just yet, and Riot has said that from this year on, they'll be working on reworks that need the most priority regarding their kits, and then go down from there. I also think that she should get more than just a mini-rework, but I will admit that other champions, like the five on the rework poll, have it worse than she does.

: ... Ionia is an actual island off the Greek peninsula, isn't it? I had a friend in HS named after it

Ionia is an actual island off the Greek peninsula, isn't it? > I had a friend in HS named after it Ionia is an old name for one of the eastern Turkish peninsulas, though there are islands around it, and I think the Ionic form of ancient Greek might have been codified on those islands (I haven't taken enough of ancient Greek yet to know though). The Ionic column style also comes from there, in-between the plain Doric and elegant Corinthian styles, which is what a lot of people tend to know about real-world Ionia by default.
: What about Ildhaurg ?
If she specifically mentions Tryndamere when invoking Ildhaurg, perhaps Ildhaurg is the Tusklord that Trynda's tribe praised? I'm guessing that he would be a humanoid boar of some kind, like an anthropomorphic Bristle.
: High noon 2019 lore?
We've gotten far less skin lore this year than last year, as the dev team has said that they want to put more focus into the main lore until it's set enough to the point where they can afford to focus on these AUs, so I wouldn't be surprised if we don't get a story this time. On the other hand, getting one would be a pleasant surprise, and we did actually get a bit of a Star Guardian short story, so perhaps we'll get something.
: I've realized HN Ashe have interaction with everyone related to Far West...
Woah woah. You forgetting about our favorite Western monsters, Sonoran {{champion:96}} and Sandscourge {{champion:72}}? They get shafted by her too. But as a TF main, I'm especially disappointed at her lack of interactions with him.
GreenLore (EUW)
: From what I've understood she used the Captain-MF outfit when she hunted down Gangplanks men, but reverted back to her old outfit afterwards. You can actually see this in her comic "Fortune Smiles", where she starts the comic in her captain-outfti, but ends it in her regular one. https://universe.leagueoflegends.com/en_GB/comic/missfortune/fortune-smiles

I'd rather have... "I'll take a corn chip...AND EAT IT!"

Lux does have a familiar named Mimi. The main reason she really isn't shown in the skin is because Lux had a very early Star Guardian skin and she'd probably need a rework before that changed.

I'd say that they're both unlikely, especially Lucian, since we've already had two close-together ADCs in 2017 and 2015 respectively (even though Graves is played ADC far more rarely, especially in pro play). So ADCs'll probably get a break for a while. Cassiopeia, Lissandra, and Zoe are also likely out since there was just a midlaner skin last year. That leaves Braum, and I'm definitely thinking that he's the most likely choice based on elimination. I think braum makes the most sense maybe. Mafia braum came out last year didn't it? Maybe he might get a new skin with the 10 year celebration or just for halloween. Who knows.

Everything seems to be pointing at him to get it, so now I'll be surprised if he doesn't.

Miss Fortune also has two familiars, and Syndra has three. ...would that make Poppy the weakest though? Since she's the only one with no familiar (yet; that could be a very big anime moment if her hammer's familiar is revealed. {{sticker:slayer-jinx-wink}} )
: With what we currently know about the Star Guardian universe, who is the strongest Star Guardian?
Since they all draw their power from the same place, I'd actually say that they're all equally powerful. Even Zoe, particularly Zoe before her corruption.
: Underrated Skins, Part 3: Battle Academia
Honestly, I don't think anyone dislikes Battle Academia in it of itself; people were just rolling their eyes at who got the skins, especially Ezreal getting a second legendary that wasn't even for a Versus event, which requires them. But Battle Academia itself just got screwed over by being overshadowed by MSI in Riot's eyes, so it was sort of thrown out there while most of the effort went into the MSI event. Here's to hoping it'll get its own spotlight in the future.
: Is there anything that The Watchers could be afraid of?
In all truthfulness, {{champion:432}} or a fully-free {{champion:136}} would probably terrify them, since they're probably part of the building blocks of the universe's existence. And if they actually teamed up together, you'd best believe the Watchers'll be scared. EDIT: Judging by the votes it looks like being in all truthfulness isn't why we're here.
SEKAI (OCE)

Uh, Taliyah is like, 11 or 12 years younger than him. He's more like her much older cousin figure, if it's anything other than student-teacher. Taliyah's quotes clearly show that she has a crush on Ekko.
: Thats because team skins just depend on the victory of the team. If Orianna gets a team skin now, they wont cancel it cause she has victorious And yeah Braum is a good guess, was active a lot, but at the same time he was gutted, riot didnt want to see him really for some reason.

They've done the same thing with Tahm, I think it's because tank supports are seen so much because they're a safer pick than squishy mage/enchanter supports.

I know champions can have both Victorious and team skins and both Championship and team skins, but it's true, no champion has both Victorious and Championship. If that's true, I'm definitely vouching for Braum then. Especially since it's now over a year since his last skin. Plus, as we saw last year in that Mafia skin, he actually looks great with gold.
