: 5 champions are enough to chose from, imo. There is no need to overload the poll with choices. They said that they will include these which didn't win this years poll, except if they do another one of these before the next poll starts (so most likely Shyvana is out by then, too). So I hope the next poll consists of: {{champion:36}} {{champion:56}} {{champion:42}} {{champion:33}} {{champion:32}}

But for me, I would say: {{champion:31}} {{champion:72}} {{champion:35}} {{champion:42}} {{champion:54}} We know {{champion:77}} is definitely coming sooner or later, so I'm not putting him on this list. I have a feeling he'll be one of the non-polled reworks coming up, unless Riot will only be doing polled reworks from this point on (and I think they said they aren't). So, my reasonings for these 5: {{champion:31}} - The Voidborn in general desperately need an update, since we have no idea how their lifestyle relates to the actual origins of the Watchers and Vel'Koz, which have the only concrete Void lore at the moment. Between him and {{champion:96}}, I would go for {{champion:31}} since, for one, he still mentions the Summoners in his voice lines, for two, he has two old legendaries that could use to be updated for modern standards, and, for three, his kit is somewhat more messy than {{champion:96}}'s (though both could use some work), since {{champion:31}}'s don't all come together like a **tank** really should, even a mage-ish one. Though, the most recent mage-y tank they did was {{champion:3}}, who has had many problems himself, so I'll bite my breath until they make a kit for our big hungry Voidborn that's less problematic... {{champion:72}} - This poor guy looks terrible, and his playstyle doesn't hold together that well either. Not to mention that he literally has the *worst base splash art in the game*; seriously, I know people complain about hers a lot, but, as I've said before, {{champion:89}}'s base splash looks like the Mona Lisa when compared to his. He also could use some more expansion on his lore. It's nice that we got some, but the Brackern crystals are still a pretty vague enigma whose only vague connection seems to be the World Runes, both being stonelike objects that seem to be integral to Runeterra's magic. Oh yeah, and he mentions summoners too, apparently. And due to his ancient nature he could use a lot more and better voicelines. But he could still keep a bit of his tragic ruthlessness too. {{champion:35}} - With {{champion:9}} getting a rework and {{champion:54}} at least getting a short story that ties him to old Ixtal and basically confirms him as some sort of elemental spirit, {{champion:35}} is the one champion left who really lacks any sort of place in current Runeterra. We're not even quite sure *what* he's going to be. Is Riot going to stick with his current mini-bio and make him a haunted puppet, or will he stay as just a crazy human like his old lore, but maybe as jester formerly, which would be similar to the puppet origin? Either way, he has very few voicelines, his model isn't that great, and his kit is pretty messy. He could use quite a lot of love. And for my part, I'm hoping Riot goes full Dark Knight with his personality. Make him funny, but still really sinister and sadistic. {{champion:42}} - He's not in as confusing of a state as {{champion:35}}, but his place in lore is still very messed up, and it's a real shame that the Bandle City update didn't explain any more about him at all. Is he in Piltover or Bandle now? Which city does he protect? If he's protecting Bandle with his plane, is he basically like a non-temperamental version of {{champion:68}} for the city? If he's protecting Piltover, how is his relationship with {{champion:74}} and {{champion:115}} around there? Did he build his plane with {{champion:74}}'s guidance, or are the two of them more like peers, since they seem to be around the same age? Or was he just given the plane? There's way too many questions that need to be answered about this guy, and he could be a really fun character if they update him right. Also, of course, his visuals need a proper makeover to make him look more Yordle-y, which Riot seemed to be starting on already with his Corgi skin. He also definitely needs far more interesting voicelines, and, of course, some definite changes to his pretty iffy kit (though I'd say his kit is better than the three above him). {{champion:54}} - This guy might have the best kit on this list, but his lore is still in big need of an explanation. Is he an elemental spirit a la {{champion:40}}, or is he some kind of rock species? Or maybe something in between? Either way, this guy needs a lot more lore and he could also use some more interaction with other champions to ground him in this world, especially since his voicelines were barely more than {{champion:33}}'s lines to begin with. And his kit, while not horrible, is not that good, either. I know he did just receive some tweaks but he'll need a bigger overhaul to make him really fulfill that fantasy of being a hulking mountain man tank.

But I think many of us here would also love to see updated Nocturne and Mundo too, whenever you guys get to them. {{sticker:slayer-jinx-catface}} Also, will the poll for next year have any of those three champions on it, or will it be a poll of five entirely different high-priority champions? If I remember correctly, the list of high--priority rework champions would be enough for two or three 5-champion polls, and of course, that wouldn't account for the reworks being worked on that *aren't* on those polls. *Note: If I'm incorrect on that, can you give us an update on the high priority rework list? : Champion Login Themes may actually be songs from Runterra, existing in the lore's canon.
Even though her voicelines are pretty old (from before the IOW was officially dissolved from canon), Jinx does sing a mockery of Vi's theme, so it's possible that her song is canon in some way (perhaps it's an song advertising for the competence of the Piltover police and her in particular, which would explain why it's in 3rd person). Jinx's song, on the other hand, could likely be something she wrote herself for fun, which would explain why it's in 1st person.

They might mix it up and do one champion per universe section. Even this year, Coin Emperor Tahm Kench was actually classified among the general Lunar Revel skins, even though he's clearly shown together with Firecracker Sejuani, Vayne, and (in cameo form) Jinx. All parts of the universe are supposed to be connected, so there's no reason not to mix them up in a year.

The patch after's (9.18) focus is more than likely Star Guardian skins so they won't have a new champ there. The one after 9.19 is confirmed to be The Worlds patch so there's NOT going to be a champion there. New Roadmap should come after we get the marksman that was teased in the last one. Given the leak that came with the current upcoming patch, the marksman should probably come in the patch after next. We should probably get a roadmap either with her reveal or with her release.

Rammus is actually high on the rework priority list, so it could easily happen very soon. He's already in the Infernal universe though, so it's not as if Riot isn't willing to **meld** Molten Rammus's name in with the rest of the crew.
: But at the same time, this would be a golden opportunity for one. He's the KING now; an opportunity to completely reinvent himself. He could be the opposite to Azir; whereas Azir uses his soldiers, commanding them like a general, J4 could be the opposite. J4 would be right in the thick of it, throwing down ALONGSIDE his soldiers, rather than just commanding them. Yes, he could just get minor changes ala the Ezreal VGU or Morgana VGU, but like I said above, he's now the King; we could get to see how a KING of Demacia fights, not just a PRINCE. As for what the Kit's design itself could be, I don't know, but this would be a prime chance for him to get one. Only time will tell, but I personally think it could be a good idea.

I do agree that this would be a great opportunity for it, but I'm doubtful that it will happen anytime soon. Riot said themselves that they want to focus on more true reworks before they get down to the minor ones, and there are even some champions only in need of a mini-rework who have more problems in their kits than Jarvan's (such as Nidalee and Rumble). So sadly, we'll probably have to wait a couple years before it ever happens, and it also depends on how fast they want to balance reworks vs new champions after they tried a fully-even year this season. So sadly, it'll have to wait. But they better not be holding out on some Sona lore until that ever happens. {{sticker:darius-angry}}
: Well, I realize this is on a SAS thread, but with the death of Jarvan the 3rd in the lore, and J4 thus now becoming the new king OFFICIALLY, could this mean that we may be seeing J4 get a VGU? I can get behind that. Jarvan's kit is fairly good; his rework will probably be more in-between Ezreal-level and Morgana-level. Mostly the same, some tweaks to modernize the kit more. In fact, along with Ezreal (and Rakan more recently), his kit has been good enough over time to grant him not one but *two* Worlds skins. However, he definitely needs a visual update badly. His visuals on his model, especially the awful faded yellow color of his armor, look horrible in comparison to more modern models. His voicelines are also fairly outdated now, though at least he doesn't mention the Summoners. Hopefully he keeps some of the more well-known lines, and he better still shout "DEMACIA" when he ults. Hopes are that Kyle Herbert can come back and voice him; he didn't do Ezreal's rework (likely because his voice wouldn't fit with Ezreal's insecurity-upped personality tweaks) but he did revoice old Pulsefire Ezreal about a year and a half before. So it's not as if it's impossible. Also, lastly (but least importantly), he does have some outdated splash arts that could use a mini-rework as an opportunity to be redone. Particularly: Commando, Dragonslayer, Darkforge, and Victorious. Maybe Warring Kingdoms too. His base splash can probably stay the same, since we see in this comic that the splash is very accurate to how he still looks in today's lore.

It could always be that way and just wasn't added upon or given more lore to it. Note that this is also in the Immortal Journey skinline, very explicitly too: "A pupil of a famous martial arts school, Fiora pined after her fellow student Yi, but was never able to win his heart. Now she pursues him as he searches for the fabled sword of jade, to protect the artifact from the man she once loved." Then again, there's also this year's Heartbreaker skins with her and Vi, where it's ambigious whether they're competitors or lovers or both. So I think it would be a fairer guess to think that she actually likes both in canon, most likely. Now all we need is some Yi and Vi content to complete the triangle.
Manxxom (NA)
: So rhaast was a god warrior of shurima?
Keep in mind that a lot of Rhaast's personality depiction is a relic from when the Darkin were still an alien race from another world. So when (if ever) Rhaast gets some proper lore, I think he'll have a few more facets to him before he became murder-obsessed.

GreenLore (EUW)
: Actually I'd argue that this goes for {{champion:16}} as well. I mean her lore claims she is a celestial being, but we have seen that there are several different kinds of celestial beings, so what is she? An Aspect like old Pantheon? A spirit like Bard? Or is she closer related to Aurelion Sol?(I remember a rioter saying that Sols siblings aren't necessarily dragons) Or maybe she is none of the above. Also we don't really know if {{champion:36}} is really human considering that his new lore makes it so that he was already that way as a baby.

All of the celestials besides the aspects are miscellaneous. Bard isn't a spirit; he's a straight-up celestial. So is Nagakebouros. So is Aurelion Sol. He's not actually a dragon; he just likes to take that form. His true form is incomprehensible to the eye, as he states. Soraka is like them, but likely a bit lesser in her power and purpose. Kindred, I believe, is somewhere in-between a celestial, an aspect, and a spirit all at once.
: Gnar might have a chance if he's in Mega Gnar form. I heard that Mega Gnar is pretty gigantic in lore. I think Nunu and Willump's affinity to frost won't have an effect on Trundle since he is extremely adapted to the frozen barren wasteland environment on Freljord. However they moght have powers that I am not aware of. Mega Gnar is probably Yeti-sized in lore, which is probably why he confused Yeti for white Yordles (the other ancient Yordles who, like Gnar, adapted to be like ancient Freljordians, probably all had Mega forms that reflected the berserker rage of the barbarians around them). I'm more considering them all in a combat of strength and wit; Gnar would probably lose out in wit but beat Trundle in strength. Same with Willump; ignoring the ice powers, I think he might win with about equal strength and probably greater wit in a fight alone. Obviously Willump is far wiser.

Since most of the people in Ionia are farmers, there is high chance that they actually have something like pizza with different ingredients of course Ionia's main grain seems to be rice though, like in eastern Asia in our world. Concept art definitely seems to show a big emphasis on rice farming. And rice flour...is not the most ideal for making a pizza dough. Rice can be very fickle. Take it from someone who was recently doing a job making fat sandwich wraps in rice wraps. They would always rip! However, perhaps there are the Runeterran equivalent of naan pizzas around the places where Karma (and possibly Jhin) come from? But then again, they'd have to have access to jungle-grown tomatoes to make a proper pizza. Ionia is likely also not that big on cheese or dairy, except, again, for the places that correspond to India in our world (do we have an exact location for that in Ionia, even Karma's hometown?)

: Trundle and his trolls potential use in the wars of Freljord.
The trolls have a lot more potential than people give them credit for, especially with Trundle leading them. He might not be book smart, but he can keep his wits in a fight and use them to outsmart more powerful opponents. That makes them formidable foes to the beasts of the Ursine cult and whatever beasts Ashe and Sejuani can bring into their armies. Besides Lissandra herself, the only Freljordian champions who could easily crush the trolls would be the demigods, and that's if and when they decide to join the fight against Lissandra at all. Chances are we'll need to see them settle their spats among themselves before they band together against any sort of common foe. Then there's Braum, but we don't have any concrete lore on him to know how powerful he actually is. I suppose Olaf might stand a chance against them because of ironic prophecies and all, but that won't stop the trolls from destroying the rest of the Winter's Claw while he's charging headfirst into their battle lines. Oh, and I shouldn't forget about Gnar and Willump (with Nunu), but we have yet to see either of them in a real fight in the current lore. Trundle vs Nunu and Willump might be a pretty even matchup (lore-wise), but who knows about Gnar.

I think they do trade a bit with Piltover, if I remember correctly. They have good relationships with them. But it would probably only be basic trade like food and essentials (like tomatoes!), nothing like tech.
: [Discussion]: Runeterran Pizza
Miniature historical food analysis, mixed with correspondence of Runeterra's factions incoming: Tacos - today's versions are based on a combination of European and Native American cuisines in our world (mostly originally American with European ingredients often included; can you imagine a taco buffet today without cheese or sour cream?), so likely a mixture of Noxus's cuisine with the cuisine of northeastern Shurima (in the jungles; the part of Shurima that's closest to what Ixtal is like) Therefore, Pizza - mostly native Italian, but mixed with the sauce of the fascinating American tomato - if we assume that tomatoes are also from Ixtal's area, then it's likely a mixture of mostly Demacian ingredients with tomatoes that managed to find their way from the jungles to Demacia through trade routes (perhaps through Piltover?)

: Are suits a thing on Runeterra?
Of course there are suits! Do you forget the most handsome character of all, who sports a very snappy suit? {{champion:4}} Oh, and his partner {{champion:104}} wears similar garb, but he has more of a cowboy suit under that cape. In short, we don't see suits because we have very few male Piltover champions to show them off in a traditional archetypal way. On one hand, we have {{champion:126}}, who prefers to dress, at least in public, as more of a "steampunk Superman" than a snappily-suited business man. On the other hand, we have {{champion:74}}, who is a Yordle scientist and well, even for human scientists in stories taking place in and around Victorian times - very few wear snappy suits and it's a rare sight to see. And of course, none of the female Piltovan champions wear normal suits - though I believe we have seen women of these areas wear them in concept art, so it's probably more happenstance for the champions we have. In general, Piltover and Zaun would have the majority of the kind of suits we see around today, the kind that became popular in the Industrial Revolution era. In Zaun's case, such garb would be more common among the chem barons, I imagine, and we don't have a champion belonging to that group yet (apparently Singed doesn't count as one; he's just a crazy chemical scientist and we have no idea if he got rich off of his exploits in Ionia; he probably wouldn't have bought suits with such money anyway). Piltover would have it among most of the population. Then we come to the type of wear that {{champion:4}} and {{champion:104}} wear, and the former is from the Serpentine Delta (and we can assume his friend has visited there often, though we can't be sure if his current clothing is from there or from Piltover itself), which is basically an offshoot of Bilgewater culture, probably with more Piltover influence mixed in than the rest of Bilgewater (since it's en route for trading between the two places). We don't know too many details about the cities and trading that goes on here, but judging by the champions associated with the place and the general environment of the area, we can basically consider the Serpentine Delta to be Runeterra's Victorian-to-1930s-era New Orleans, if Piltover itself is based on a mixture of Victorian-era London, Paris, and New York City. And then, of course, we have suits that went out of fashion in the 1800s, namely the tailcoats and wigs that one would think of from the 1700s and before. We've seen clothing like that in the main Bilgewater area, particularly in Fortune Smiles, and I wouldn't be surprised if such clothing could be found in Demacia and Noxus either, though their clothing seems to generally be a couple centuries behind (more based on the 1400s or 1500s-era Europe). And there is my very long suits analysis. Sorry for the text wall! World History interests me very much, especially when it can be used to worldbuild.

Sure, there are border tension in Ionia and towards the Freljord, while preparations for an invasion of Piltover and Zaun are being made, but Noxus hasn't been involved in any major conflict since Swain's coup. Noxus does have plans with basically every other faction in Runeterra, except perhaps Targon (and they might have plans with them too, correct me if I'm wrong). -As we know from Awaken, a second Ionian invasion is being prepared -Their rivalry with Demacia is famous, and we can be pretty sure Swain will have heard the rumors of Sylas's rebellion and is planning to exploit that weakness, especially should King Jarvan III die -They're expanding into Southern Freljord, particularly Darius's troops -They've conquered small patches of land in Shurima, and with Azir back, that probably indicates a big conflict coming there soon (perhaps even a three-way conflict between them, Azir's forces, and Xerath's forces) -As we know from At the Edge of the World, they have eyes on Ixtal, and Swain will likely hear of what Qiyana's done to Piltover's miners and perhaps find out even more about Ixtal; that is, if he doesn't know all this already -Progress Day shows us the Noxian invasion being prepared for both Piltover and Zaun -Swain will have his eyes on Bilgewater too, since he wants his boat back from Gangplank, and I'd be very surprised if he doesn't know yet that Gangplank survived his ship's explosion I'm not including the Void and the Shadow Isles (especially since Mordekaiser doesn't appear to be connected to the latter anymore) since they're basically horror factions and that's more what Noxus will eventually fight *against*, not invade.

: His old lore was really good too. This one however looks more connected to other aspects of runeterra, and can hint at gameplay aspects. Brakerns are not really fleshed out in neither of these tho. Solving that can help also determine what skarner is and what he needs. R Is good and unique, feels great when used properly, and has great impact. He just need the rest of the kit to hold up to his R standards. I wouldn't mind him being a tank at this point, i've been playing him tank, ad and ap. And he's a good tank. Just needs parts of his kit to better support him in such direction, since Q and passive have not much reason to be in a tank's kit But i'm more a fan of juggernaut skarner. That's the role that better compliments better to his original gameplay of "relentless predator that sticks to you and never lets go", the gameplay that got me stuck to him so 5 seasons. He could use some more; part of the reason that Hextech (and probably Chemtech, to an even bigger but more obscure extent) is so confusing is that we don't know *what* the Brackern crystals are, what exactly their magic is, and how they're connected to the world. Judging by the implications from his lore they're probably connected to the World Runes?...somehow?... And yeah, his kit needs big retooling. I hope he can keep his R; it's a great move and can only be made better. After all, his kit is...troll-y, but okay in comparison to some. Not to mention that Pantheon's rework is likely coming the patch after next, and Riot confirmed that there would be other reworks in between Voli and Fiddle's ones next year. Well there are four other candidates that I'm thinking are almost certainties for the skin, especially the first three. Riven, Xayah, Rakan, and Taliyah. Of those four, three are new champions with a massive amount of voice lines, and Riven already has a modern legendary. Quinn, the one whom I (and several others) would want as the fifth (and jungler) team member, is the only one who has none of that.

She deserve one before Cass who received eternum in the past 2 year. I'm hoping that Quinn gets a Star Guardian skin this year. Maybe even the legendary, since she doesn't have one. Valor would be so perfect for a cute but awesome Star Guardian bird familiar. {{sticker:sg-lux}}

: Is Twitch the only nonmagical creature in League?
Magic is literally everywhere on Runeterra. I have a headcanon that not one single champion is what we, on Earth, would consider "normal" or "mundane". {{sticker:zombie-brand-mindblown}}
: More Skarner skins
He's up for a rework, so it's likely that he won't get more skins until after that. Though, since he did just get a lore update, it's possible that his rework is further off than some? But that didn't stop Riot from putting recently-updated Nocturne and Shyvana on their rework poll, which confirms that they'll get their reworks sometime. So hopefully Skarner gets that love soon, in whatever format. A skin, yes, would be nice if they're not going to touch his kit for a while. Dark Star would be cool, or maybe something sinister yet enigmatic for Omen of the Dark.
: don't know why you were downvoted, you are right on the money

Apparently someone doesn't like us criticizing Rito and is downvoting us all. Help the upvotes!

: Is it just me or is Riot not even trying to hype up new releases anymore?
Sylas did get a login theme, just not an animated splash. I'm grateful he did get a login screen of a sort, at least. But yeah, as I've said before, this is likely due to Riot's money loss and budget costs. Possibly combined with the more positive hope that they're also working on a new game, but...honestly, they should be more focused on making the quality of their *current* game as consistent as possible before taking a leap with shafting off half of their departments onto something they aren't revealing and their current playerbase knows nothing about. Because, while we can speculate, all we see before our eyes is League of Legends becoming cheapened. It saddens me.
: Morde is still due for a "New" Skin
First Morde needs to have some of his new animations and current skin effects implemented. I know they were rushed for time and short on budgets but first things first.
