: Honor Capsule update delivers new drop rate
While all of this is good. I feel like there should also be a heavy protection for those of us who've gotten all the champions. Specifically for honor capsules. As they feel pretty much the same as opening a standard box... Which is why I'm still getting champ shards out of all of em. Like... Why? Honor feels frustrating to upkeep if you are only let down at the end of it.

An ideal change, considering you said "We're planning to use items, rather than things like Runes or Champion abilities that you have to commit to as part of the game", because of this I recommend using {{item:3056}} good ol' Ohmwrecker. My reasoning is because unlike other people whining about it's a change for some time. As for stuff like "why is this even in the game?" you could give it an ideal spot in the game by it negating shields as well. Fewer stats but more utility allows for tanks and supports to both opt into it. Keeping the gold cost fair though. Let's say it negates the nearest turret. And the nearest enemy champ if you did not highlight one, to begin with. Or if you click on a specific enemy champ it has it's shield reduced by a bit or just removed altogether. You get the idea. It just seems right for the tower dive potential. Plus this reduces the worries of "sounds like round 2 of the Grievous Wounds issue." comments. Now my reasoning for it being a single target reduced shields is because adc's are generally in a really safe position. Reducing the point and click reduce shields range to around 300-500 units increases the risk for range/melee users of the item. I think having an item that simply cancels out Locket with aoe shield reduction would just be an oxymoron. Enemy tank Taric is building locket early. "Starts building this item". Then they're screwed and the Janna wins. They can't deal with Janna's shield up close or they lose trade. Taric uses locket. Still loses trade because of the item. Factoring in whether it cuts shields after they are put on the enemy. It's just a loooooot of stuff that you need to take into account. Lastly, it should be a choice item. Not a staple. Something you'd only buy vs lots of shields. If not then supports could easily run ignite and this item then the enemy adc would just die because healing has been cut. And shields have been cut. So they're dead. That would further push the late game ranged carries ashe, trist, varus, ect. Goodluck. Don't create something stupid op lol. Or something that makes diving supports better than shielding supports. That'd make locket useless. And if it does go through like that the meta would shift from Tristana's Twitches immediatly over to assassin like adc's. Bursty ones.

Little extra note on that "Ultimore" rune. Along with the cdr. To balance it around people like Kass and others with faster R's. Should it become too difficult to handle, just add an internal cd on the rune of about 30 seconds to slow it down. Kass instantly stacking it to max only 15 minutes into the game for a 2-second cd early game isn't exactly fair usage. Otherwise love the runes so far <3

: They'll both also be after 7.18, they're part of a separate work flow though so won't necessarily be after LB/could come before Azir or Udyr.
Now Meddler I know how you are with reworks... But first you have to fix ur game... I've been playing league for a long time. I've started on a literal toaster that got so warm you could make eggs & bacon on it, League ran perfectly fine on a GT325m. Over the years I've moved onto better things. I am now more or less rocking an i7 4790k + GTX 1070. It hurts to say that I've seen a massive decline in my framerate since last year. I used to be able to pull between 300-400 fps. Now my frame rate hardly sticks around 200 during the early-mid game it begins to drop into the lower 100's. Until at one point went below 80. Now we are talking about the performance on the rift, take ARAM, for example, a similar thing happens where my frame rate just barely hovers around 150. Not to mention the game visibly stutters and hiccups when entering bushes sometimes. I can for sure say that this isn't my computer's problem. It has been rebuilt completely recently, on top of that I do not have such issues with any other game. I think I actually get a higher average frame rate on Warframe now than I do on League. I surely cannot be the only one that has noticed this? League isn't a demanding game, it was designed to run on almost any computer so why are frame-rates tanking so much? I don't suppose reinstalling the game on an SSD would do much, but would possibly be worth a shot. I understand we have had many updates/changes but they should in no way affect performance as they weren't really visual updates. I also anticipate some of you will probably say that having high frames doesn't matter, or that I should be happy to have at least that many. If my frames dip so much on such hardware, I cannot imagine what lower-end users are going through. I know you're a great dev. I love you. But you've gotta delete your system32 or you'll never be a real big boi.. Its just how life is. How could we ever forgive you if you didn't? That would make us less than human... P.S. Ily... and get meme'd on big guy.
: > and ctrl+123456 , pings (which cant be muted you know) These are all muted via the mute function. > Try playing this game ,for a day or two, you will know how to fix it, its pretty simple. Yeah, like penalizing people for telling the enemy team 'my team is at dragon' and 'they are camping that bush'.
Tantram, Tantram... I've been on my computer for at least 6 months now.. I've gotten the ropes of it now... I know how MY game is supposed to work. In fact, I've been playing league for a long time. I've started on a literal toaster that got so warm you could make eggs & bacon on it, League ran perfectly fine on a GT325m. Over the years I've moved onto better things. But to be good with computers all you have to do is delete your system32 folder on your computers files. That really got mine running. It crashed one time but then it started windows backup and chose a restore point. When it did that it secretly picked a point to where my computers fans glitched and went twice as fast. I know wut am tolkien abowt here mk? Now go fix ur game big boy. P.S. Get meme'd on.
: We will be looking at Kayn very carefully and practice caution. The 7.15 buffs will do a lot of work for Shadow Kayn so we definitely won't be reacting with dramatic changes before we see how those play out.

You're actually my favorite rioter btw. Just wanted to let you know. You're so chill and talkative with the community that we feel like we're not getting fed <auto rito reply> bot'd.
Meddler (NA)
: Yep. XP is probably the biggest culprit at present, given how powerful an edge a level or two can be in a gank, both in terms of raw stats and access to an extra spell (ult's particularly). We're seeing some champions who when they jungle are consistently at least a level higher than they were prior to the jungle changes after the first few minutes of the game. That's a pretty significant increase in power that's going to come at the expense of other positions. Mid and top influence on bot might also be too high, that's something we're looking at at present to. First step though's to address the jungle situation.
I'm actually really curious as to what you think about APC Ziggs in the bot lane? Or mages in the bot lane as a replacement for a team comp. I've always thought of Azir being a better bot lane APC rather than a mid lane mage with his kit.
Rioter Comments
Meddler (NA)
: Frankly, Aatrox has a lot of gameplay problems. I'd agree that, apart from raw power, he doesn't bring enough that's meaningful to the table even when he's strong. Definitely some similarities with some of the issues on Garen we're trying to work on here.
If I may jump on the "Suggestion Train" over here. I know things like this don't get added for the sake of adding them. But to keep Aatrox afloat during the preseason I simply suggest just adding tenacity during his R. Honestly it'd fix a lot of problems without him being broken either. His laning phase is okay for now until the big "diver update" gets here. But the only thing that really kills Aatrox's whole diver fantasy is that he requires to heal constantly from his auto attacks during teamfights. Being a diver like I said with only autos means that he NEEDS to not get cc'd. Merc Treads help but not all that much. As we all know, Aatrox's only objective, whilst not being able to build full tank (its mostly brusier builds due to the kit), is to split push until he wins. This would even it out a bit between split pushing - Which is fine btw - and adding more mmph to his team fighting capabilities. Even if (with merc treads) he only gets about 50 or 60% tenacity during ult it's better than none. I just think it's funny how a single cc can kill a flying angry demon. Lol. Please consider mister Meddler. Peace.
Meddler (NA)
: He is looking a bit out of line yeah. We'll likely trim a bit of power sometime in the next couple of patches. Not sure what yet, one of the first things we'll look at though is whether tank builds are inappropriately effective.
Listen to the number one Yasuo main ArKaDaTa please... Honestly I trust him with Yasuo's design, probably more than the designer of him.
: This is usually due to your client being unable to connect to the Server. This [Connection guide](https://support.riotgames.com/hc/en-us/articles/201752664) should put a stop to that issue and get you back in the game. Make sure to go through all the steps and if you continue to have issues reach back out to me.
Thank you so much. This also happened to me.
: A follow-up on the "Offline Status" feature request
Yes, that would be amazing. Also, during the "away status" hide the games that you may or may not have played from friends or "specific" friends. We still like them. Especially if they are irl friends. It's just the issue is that we don't wanna tell them we wanna go solo and get hit with the "Aw come on man lets play ranked" ect stuff like that. You know, all the usual stuff. Even those irl friends that we know aren't great at the game and we wanna take it serious and play with another friend. I seriously consider all of this a good idea.
Threshlight (EUNE)
: Aatrox rework concept
I'm going to lose it if you don't let his ult give him attack range on auto attacks anymore... :( It was probably the most fun thing on his 'LIVE' ultimate (Besides the massive base damage) Aatrox is a supposed "God of War" type of demon with a blade that is alive. It should at least still have that growing length power. Or at least put that type of auto range increase into his W or something. Am cri.
: Unlikely, then Swiftness Boots would make roots turn into slows and Sej couldn't be rooted.
: Around the same age. I think we were saying 16-17 during his development
: If Ekko's balance starts looking good again, is there any chance you could revert the ult radius nerf from a year ago? Not all the way, but I feel like his ult radius should be a little bit bigger.
The particles are definitely a little off.
: So what you're saying is that roots are coded as slows
Meddler (NA)
: Not necessarily. A cap can send the message of 'get this much of a stat then build other stuff (potentially tank builds again). Diminishing returns beyond a certain point (e.g. 5% per 100 above 500, 2.5% above 700 etc) can be useful to avoid abuse cases (like a root here) while still rewarding the desired build path.
Still make it possible to root with like 2000 ap or something so that Vandril can make a video about it lol.
: Her ultimate will never deal damage. This is very much working as designed. Imagine it did do damage. Now on top of having to think about whether or not you want to ride it and where you want to place it to most effectively cut off the enemy, you'd also have to consider if you wanted to try and hit enemies with it to damage them or maybe even hold it and not use it until you're fighting someone because it's part of your damage combo. Giving players more options to use a spell often makes the spell *worse*. It becomes less obvious if you used it well, you feel bad using it in interesting / out of the ordinary situations, and so on. In this case, constraints breed creativity. Spells that interact with your location do sound cool and I wouldn't be surprised if we did one eventually, but you may have noticed that Taliyah's kit is complete and she is going to release soon. It's a little late to put a new spell in ;P
I must ask because I've always thought Taliyah's ultimate would've been a global control since I heard that's what she'd be. Did you guys ever have the idea of making her ultimate a long ranged 3 shot control ability, almost exactly like her W, or is that a no-no?
: yeah because when trick type stuff like this : r43j8tg 4H$H$56h4h45otg3tg3 in chat that won't affect other peoples gameplay yup i think iw ill start doing this just for the fun and also ping like crazy just like him best role model way better than tyler1 .
Well, honestly as a teammate when I see < *A player has been slain (adc)* "skafnsakfnalknveuansf;asfsfk" > I personally think it's hilarious.
: the only diffrence between trick2g and tyler1 is that trick would say shit like this in the ingame chat : fuegforeggh9gh4thg45gh54g54g and tyler1 would actualy use real words for being toxic but both are extermly toxic so the conclusion is that riot accept you as a toxic player unless you use the ingame chat in a mean manner. so keep being all toxic you want but don't do it in chat k kids ?
Well in game toxicity is the problem. Riot doesn't really give a shit if you are mad at home playing the game. As long as your toxicity doesn't affect other peoples gameplay (which it does) then you're fine.
: I would also like to point out 2 things to the people that say "But x, y, and z do bad stuff too and they aren't banned!" Point 1: Just because others are slipping through the cracks, doesn't mean we shouldn't try to ban those we catch. It's like when you get pulled over by a cop for speeding, and say "But cop, I wasn't the only one speeding!" That doesn't make it anymore okay. You got caught speeding. The others will get their turn, but right now it's yours. Others troll, afk, flame, whatever, and yes it's bad, but that doesn't mean we just do an ALL or NOTHING approach. Either we ban EVERYONE at the same time, or NO ONE gets banned makes no sense. Point 2: Some of the examples that people give of toxic players aren't actually toxic ingame. Sure, you're watching their stream and they may call their teams retarded, armless, cancer babies, ON STREAM but they never say that ingame. They never type out their frustration. There team never knows that one of their players is flaming them in real life. As long as you don't vent your frustration ingame, who cares what you're doing behind the keyboard or on stream. Toxicity that's purely on stream is a twitch/streaming platform problem. Not a Riot problem.
This comment. I like this comment. Good comparison and contrast with the situation.
: unbelievable to imagine 2.3k tyler fans assembled just to downvote the most obvious super ban in the game. I honestly thought that there were non-tyler fans genuinely criticizing this decision.
They were not but I wouldn't be surprised if the very large downvotes got other people to see it as negative too. Especially the way the put it. "especially if they are a genuine jerk" like I wouldn't be surprised if regular league players downvoted it because a company was rude lol.
: I realized this the moment I saw all the people saying they logged in purely to downvote/hate. Seriously, so many new people visiting the boards isn't a coincidence.
Well at least they know this place exists now lol.
Elikain (EUNE)
: The reason why i don't ever think anything on these boards is valuable until i actually read the post and have my opinion formed is because it's driven by sheep mentality. People will just go along with it because they didn't have to do the work and upvoting or downvoting is just one click away. Some arguments in Riot's thread about Tyler1 were about Meteos being toxic and that's a lie. In reality, he provoked Meteos and then just screencapped his response on twitter, saying how Meteos is forgiven for talking shit but his behavior is called toxic. There are YouTubers who intentionally provoke people in FPS games and then they record them saying shit, gathering subscribers and earning money for this. If if has really come to this, then it's about time Riot says enough - in a game i want to support for years to come.
All of this is true. This is my favorite video on that response of Tyler1 and Meteos. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k4aFbAqUu6c
: That clears it up, the wording was not very specific on that but makes sense now
There are Riot's rules and then there's mine. Like as long as you dont feed or constantly remind me that im doing bad, insults me toward my play, ect. Other than that do whatever you want. But even saying that those are my rules still means you have to abide by Riot's or get banned. It's out of my hands. Personally, all the rules they put down cover everything. It's just everyone has different opinions such as "why can't i talk like this toward my friend gawdddd. stop being a pussy foot" ect. That still not in line with the players who try to stay away from dirty talk racial stuff ect. It's just rounded so that EVERYONE can play this game comfortably.
: The community suddenly lost all credibility for me (Riot Socrates on Tyler1)
http://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/player-behavior-moderation/lR8L1E3N-to-riot-socrates-not-hate-mail-tyler1-post-truth I actually made a post on all of this too lol. All that happened was the post got raided when he showed the post on stream.
: wow Tyler 1 riot post has -2.5k downvotes
Read my post on it. Halfway down I cover why it's like that. http://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/player-behavior-moderation/lR8L1E3N-to-riot-socrates-not-hate-mail-tyler1-post-truth
: So, the point of that reply just flew right over your head
By good behavior. I meant "not ruining the game for everyone else" in any form or fashion. I personally don't care if I get death threats. It's still not accepted by an array of people though.
Aliyn (NA)
: I agree with this. And thanks for the fun fact about the reddit votes and the stream votes. I was honestly really fucking pissed seeing it was downvoted so much. Made me lose some fucking faith.
Yeah, the only people that hated on that post were all Tyler1 fans. Trust me.
: You hear him call doublift a "ch%nk" on stream today? I think Rito had all they could take.
Doublelift has an ego absolutely. But he does not fuck around and feed. If you couldn't tell. He kinda likes his account.
: its a video game. this game specifically is becoming more and more harsh to toxic players. idc if someone tells me to kms or get cancer. im old enough to not care. all video games have trash talking and trolling. this guy got trolled multiple times and didnt cry or whine. but when he does it the world is over.
Like it's a difference between saying I did bad in lane and I read that for like 2 seconds. Then I go back to my lane and keep playing. Where as if you feed. You will ruin the next potential 20 minutes of my game and life. A game of which I just wanted to play to have some simple half-assed competitive fun. Just don't fuck us over trolls that's all we really care about.
Suparmon (EUW)
: unban tyler1 cuz ranked is unplayable
So basically what you're saying is. Nothing has changed in ranked yet?
: He flames on stream, not in the chat. That's the difference. When Trick get's mad, he spams the key board as such a;lskdfjgh a;lkjha ;lkasdg; lkjhasgd f;l.kjna sdg l;'kjasfg. and that's it. Meanwhile Tyler is intentionally feeding, trolling, and being toxic in the chat. You'd think after 19 accounts get banned, he would learn.
Honestly, Riot was extremely generous with Tyler1. They gave him so much time to reform.
Nidelkha (NA)
: ***
No, we just like not having people who intentionally feed in our games. We could care less if you called us a ton of racial slurs or death threats just don't ruin our game.
: I think the biggest issue with him was how many accounts has he got permabanned and he STILL didn't change anything! I"m for the ban...he had his chance.
He had 15+ chances from Riot. They were being generous tbh.
: for me, its just the reasons they gave where pretty shit. you see kacy/nicktron both flamers. half of the tits up in the scream and sit and just talk shit inb game and out are just as bad. but lately tyler been pretty average player toxicness. IMO yeah he shouldov learned his lesson but past 2 bans where just to ban him, not for actual hard core toxic reasons. also if you do watch his stream and not just base off your others opinions. people hard core troll him when he climbs from beginning or purposely feed or even just afk or purposely camp his lane with 3+. idk. i understand the perma ban but at the same time its kinda dumb for riot stating why when they obviously see other streamers are a lot worse. eh im not a fan of him but i liked the fact he tried every game no matter what until it was just done./ oh wells
That's more of a Twitch problem. And they troll wayyyyy less in league because they've gotten warnings ect. They still troll in other games but like I said. That is a twitch problem/ whatever game they're playing's problem. Not Riots. The Tyler1 ban is unique specifically because of one circumstance. He came back doing the same thing. After permabans. On 17?-ish accounts. That is an issue. He never reformed completely. Just vents anger through actions in game and the "int" list because that gets him banned less. He can still play. Riot actually gave him the slip on this one. AGAIN. All they wanted to accomplish by this was to stop his streaming and popularity and encouragement of toxic behaviour ect through his stream. He can still grab a account. He just can't stream his toxicity to the League Community. We already have enough problems with our toxicity. It's kinda bad though when he's becoming popular and is making toxicity more common and seem like an okay thing. Yeah, he tried. It's just his ego was in the way all the time. He's a good player. But I can't stand someone who has his head so far up his ass to where it affects his gameplay on a serious level. This guy brought a whole new meaning to tilt and toxicity just by playing the game in front of everyone on stream and youtube a bit. In the end it's better for him to not be public to represent Leagues Community. We're already shit as it gets. And we're trying to get better. That's the difference between reformed people and the "Tyler1" type of which says they will reform but never actually tries and just goes and lets his ego get in his gameplay when someone trolls him a little in game. If you were truly trying to get better report that guy for trolling. To succumb to that trolls level and go and feed right after. That's not reforming that's encouraging people to relax and not get better and continue flaming. He basically said through his stream with his actions. Flaming is okay, because leveling is easy now, all you have to do is climb a little and if you get banned. So what? Just get a new one. He is not a good influence on anyone. He COULD get better but he really doesn't follow through on what he says.
: If you I.P. ban .....then R.I.P internet cafes, dorms, libraries, student centers, etc.
: It's not a policy that Riot doesn't IP ban, it's that it doesn't do anything. A person can pretty easily change their IP address (not to mention it can harm people in dorms or PC cafes)
: >The end. To be honest though, if Riot wanted to they could change their policy to allow them to I.P. ban again. IP bans both incur collateral damage and are unlikely to work. In many cases a person's external IP is dynamic, making a specific IP ban worthless. It's also possible, by banning a single IP, you ban an entire college dorm, (or library, cafe, etc) that shares it, possibly punishing plenty of innocent players.
Rioter Comments
: The indefinite banning of Tyler1
So far all I've seen for comments are people who support Tyler1. And in his stream he went to this post and everyone saw it. To all of you who think this post is "bad" or whatever. Just remember all of his toxic fans who enjoy watching a guy being a genuine jerk and stuff, came here and upvoted all of the "supportive" Tyler1 comments. All of what you see on the most upvoted are just his fanbase. Don't worry.
: Yeah, Meteos probably worked his "mouth magic" on the riot ban squad and got his way. GG boring ass streamer Meteos that is also toxic af.
It is one thing when you get to high elo. It is another when you don't get blue buff as DRAVEN mind you and go feed your ass off when you were winning the game.
: Does the "Who Will Own the Rift" thing count all game modes? i.e. Howling Abyss or Twisted Treeline or Special Game Modes or Coop vs. AI
I'm pretty sure it just means "The Rift" the only rift. Summoner's Rift.
: > why is being able to buy an item and negate a large part of Zed's kit considered unacceptable, while Yasuo's kit (infinite dashes, shield, windwall) negates a much larger portion of the kits of a much larger portion of the champion pool (projectile/skillshot champions)? I don't have a particularly strong opinion on the Yasuo case here, but my instinct is that this feels like a case where just because one thing is broken doesn't mean we should accept that it's okay for others to be broken, even if it's to a lesser degree. I had been thinking about this change for quite some time, and the mid season mages update seemed like a good time to do it. We were in a decent space to make some of these mages fair in a world where QSS isn't as effective as it used to be, so I got some buy in and tested some stuff out, and here's where that landed.
If I may also add something since I know you read these. What are you guys planning for Barrier? I've always wanted the item to be used vs burst mages/assassins. It would only make sense to allow damage reduction to it during the 2 seconds. Going up by level along with a weaker shield to compensate. Something like this basically: ~ Barrier 210 CD. Shields for 100 to 400 and gives you 10?-20%? damage reduction based on level for 2 seconds.

: True, zed is just the most obvious example
Zed's kill pressure will remain specifically because the cooldown of Cleanse is 210 seconds. Which is definitely longer than his ult. Zed also doesn't rely on kills to get ahead. His main goal is usually to get them out of lane so he can either push or roam. Roaming is usually the option since junglers watching mid back will go mid and cc you down and make you leave as well. But the enemy losing cs and xp is Zed's number one goal. He only needs 2 items and boots to be relevant at any point in the game so even if he gets his ult cleanse that allows people to cc them down since they no longer have it. Not to mention Cleanse makes you much less likely to win lane. The only people that could use this vs Zed and win with a high chance would be Lulu.
