: Can you make a super mega ultra setting or league for low pc gamers?
If your PC can't handle LoL I'm surprised you can do almost anything on it. You can get an ultra cheap laptop with like double or triple the performance of those specs, easily. Time, tech, and minimum requirements all march on... you have to update sooner or later if you want to participate. You're so far outside the stated minimum requirements that you're basically a unicorn. Don't expect them to use dev time just to help you play the game on an ancient PC you refuse to upgrade.

: How about instead of adding more champions you balance the ones that are in the game
Been playing since 2010 and I'm glad the oldies still get played here on the forums. :) Even if Riot took 2 years off just to balance the current state it would not be balanced perfectly. There are too many variables between champs, items, and runes. So they balance the outliers, monitor and nudge the game in the direction they think is best, and adjust as new stuff is added.

Buffing Blitz's hook range might have been a "no brainer" decision since it gives him power and lets him do even more stupid stuff with buff pulls, yeeting champs from fog of war, and generally being oppressive in lanes where his team is even or ahead. I can only hope they nerf him after Worlds. "Exciting pro play" > regular players I guess. That's what 9.19 felt like at least, not just Blitz.
: Raise your voices pls
No problems with the font choice or the lettering but it looks like a low-effort mobage advertisement. If minimalism is the goal then I think having a plan background instead of Lux is better. Probably just my taste but I prefer logos with borders or defined shapes. This looks more like, again, a cheap mobage advert or a poster for an event.
: Join Us Oct. 15th to Celebrate 10 Years of League
I prefer the current logo. Nothing wrong with the font choice in the new one but I can't imagine putting this new logo on a pin or something. Looks like a minimalist poster for a venue more than anything else. Also maybe ditch Lux in the background? She's popular, but she has a lot of people who hate her too. Go back to Ashe or Katerina as the face of LoL for the 10th!

: Unbalanced LP
The ranking system in general needs to be more transparent. And if you get in the top 4, you should NOT be losing LP. I think they adapted the SR system to TFT which explains the opaque gain/loss and frustrating disconnect between MMR and Ranking. Autochess practically begs for a streamlined system that shows you exactly where you stand amongst others in your group and doesn't have superfluous tiers to mask your true ELO. If I'm rated 1200, and the top guy in my group is 2000, I should be able to see it and think "ok, I'm in the top 50%, I can improve while getting matched against people about my skill level". I shouldn't be constantly proving myself worthy of progressing above Iron IV while getting matched against people already rated Gold as a newly minted Silver IV.

They reduced the chances of it but it still happens. Even when all 7 other players are available as opponents. Not sure if Riot is interested in actually ensuring no double matches until some players are eliminated or not.

He didn't really do much but if he landed his stun his team got to do stuff. Unfortunately for them we had a Caitlyn so she kept taking over all the brush he was creating. But it's not like he was total dead weight to them. I think the idea of him interacting with Poros - maybe instantly befriending them when they meet so ALL of them can follow him around as a little herd or something- is a great idea.

: Riot still don't get a thing about little legends
That's the thing though. Only a tiny percentage of players need to buy in hard-core for the profit model to work. And I see about the same # as you every game- 1-2 bought Little Legends. Probably about 20% of the playerbase has gotten one they feel is worth using; more may have spent who don't like the outcome and won't be using their result, and a tiny percentage will whale into the hundreds and thousands to get what they want. Gambling is extremely profitable for little effort on the company's part. That's why they will keep exploiting addicts, children, and regular old poor impulse control until the practice is made illegal. Lootboxes are still legal in the US so Riot's only transgression is an ethical one at this point. If I could have bought the moon-tipped hushtail outright I absolutely would have. But I'm not going to spend a cent gambling for it.

: Add an EXP to Little legends that grows with getting 1st place.
I was disappointed that the second Beta event didn't give a Little Legends selection like the first did. I strongly disagree with Riot's choice to go with surprise mechanics instead of a straightforward "buy what you want" policy like the rest of the content they sell has. If they had a system that you could pay varying price points ( $ for *, $$ for **, $$$ for ***) or had a gradient system such that you buy the base form of the Little Legend series you want, then grind wins (4th or better) to improve their tier (with a paid option to speed it up of course) I would be fine with it. I'm not opposed to spending a little RP to get what I want! But asking me to spend money on a slot machine with no guarantees of getting what I want is ridiculous. The worst part of all is that it only takes a few people spending a lot of money to make this system worthwhile to Riot. Less than 1% of the population can whale on it and they'll turn fabulous profits for the investors. So even if most players aren't happy about it they can just plug their ears with the cash foisted upon them by people with gambling addictions and more money than sense.
: I do think they need to speed up the creep rounds, put them on overtime speed but that really isn’t saving much. Once you play enough games of summoner’s rift to find out how garbage it’s become (been playing since season 6) you might come running and screaming back to TFT. Give it a few hundred games, I don’t feel like going into the why. Just look at the reoccurring posts on the boards that are never fixed.

Give it a few hundred games, I don’t feel like going into the why. Just look at the recurring posts on the boards that are never fixed. I mean, I played since before Season 1 was a thing and a lot of the same complaints are still around... I don't totally buy into player wisdom that the game is dying, if rito doesn't fix [insert pain point here] the game will collapse, esports is a waste of time, etc. ... There are absolutely problems that Riot should be looking at but there is also a lot of noise on the forums and elsewhere that has basically become background radiation because it's been harped on for so long. Sometimes you just need to accept a game's flaws. If the bad outweighs the good, look for something different knowing you can come back to LoL any time if you get the urge to play again. That said TFT is something I can only enjoy in small doses. I'm hopeful that the planned item changes will make it more tolerable but as it stands the frustration of item gaps and bad luck are keeping me from truly enjoying it. I recently had a game where I got gold in the first three rounds, and then gold again from Krugs... bought champs and levels early to keep up but in the end I was 4th because folks caught up to me in roster power and I didn't have the items to compete. I fought tooth and claw to gain 4th so I technically "won" but the 7 LP I got from it wasn't satisfying at all. So I see where you're coming from OP. I'd suggest keep doing what you're doing now by trying out other modes and keeping TFT as a side event. Maybe try some other autochess modes too- I hear that DotA's version is superior to this one, but I haven't tried it myself.
: So that whole thing about not facing the same person over and over again? Still there.
Yup. Always feels like the most lopsided matchups too, though that could well be confirmation bias. I notice it more when I get my butt stomped hard by the same team two times in a row. Shouldn't double matches like that be impossible before Krugs?

I remember ZenonTheStoic being something of a lightning rod on the forums way back when so this might have been the final straw (especially since it blew up so big that non-gaming/nerd websites reported on it). But if folks are looking for more retribution, they are going to be disappointed because Riot wants to forget and move on ASAP. Any company does after a huge PR shitshow. And honestly, the dude being fired for being a jerk is enough. Asking for hand-wringing and foot kissing at this point is kind of pathetic. Back then they didn't really discern between primary/secondary roles, they just showcased them in the role they thought they'd be played in. Mages invading bot has been a thing for a while but that's what happens when the lines between the champion roles are blurry and comparable gold is offered through items. : Can you please add in a trade for our little legends, or restrict loot boxes to one legend?
The fact that you put money into this at all means it's working. Trying and failing to get what you want doesn't matter to Riot since they got your dollars for it even if you didn't get what you wanted. The only way to tolerate systems like this, IMO, is to not buy into them. Just like any other "freemium" gacha game. Spending money on skins is fine since you can get what you want when you want it. Paying 35$ for a few spins at the wheel is just a waste of money.

: Eternals & TF2
I think the fact that Eternals track mere statistics and the free option is lackluster is what is what folks are up in arms about. The proposed launch price was pretty optimistic on Riot's part but even after backing down they are making it clear that this feature is intended to bring in money. A lot of the player responses are pretty telling about why folks are frustrated by this system: most can't see the value in this new feature, and even those that do don't understand why it's being ferociously monetized. Stat tracking isn't a "sexy" feature like skins, emotes, or announcer packs. It's a niche interest to people who love numbers and/or love incremental progression on champs. Also, a lot of people are used to getting this type of feature for free as a perk from playing the game itself. So Riot's decision to monetize a normally free feature that only a few will appreciate seems bizarre and "cash-grabby". From what little I've played in TF2 anything you want can theoretically be traded for, if you have something other players want. So you don't have to pay if you're patient and lucky enough. Riot only has RP gifting; you can't trade skins or other cosmetics. If purchasing the base eternal with BE and adding fun personalized stat tracking via nominal RP purchases or Mastery System progress/loot box rewards was the proposed solution, there would not have been a huge outcry. I don't know how much effort went into spiffing up Death Recap but I'm guessing they had to overhaul it from the ground up to accommodate Eternals. That's not insignificant and they need to recoup the costs to justify the investment. Still, it's a bad sign to me that they introduced gacha mechanics shortly followed by this. Hope Riot isn't going the way of most smart phone games.

: “This champion is too strong in pro play so now nobody gets to play it.”
Just want to say that I've been here since before S1 was a thing, saw the same arguments even back then... and yet here we all are. I myself took a break for 5 years since I got burnt out but LoL was here, ready and waiting on my return, with more or less the same experience as when I left. The pros are the best of the best. They can abuse champion abilities and synergies like no other. So the devs have to keep top players in mind first and foremost when they balance. Pros are pros because they know the meta game of how to last hit, when to shop, best times to fight, etc. Memes and jokes aside, when you start talking about DI+ pretty much everyone is at the same macro skill level, more or less. At that point you use the right tools (champions and items) to accomplish your goals in the safest and most efficient way possible... which is why there is patch after patch of adjustments to bring down champs that are too abusable and help some struggling champs that could be viable tools with a few tweaks. Meanwhile casuals like me win or lose depending on which team is worse at macro instead of individual champ prowess. Folks in Iron-Plat can lose most of the lanes due to champ counter picks then pull ahead with a win because they have higher macro skills than the team who was dominating in lane. That's why rito doesn't balance around champ power at lower levels except to slap down egregious outliers that are abusable even by relatively unskilled players. That isn't to say that champs like {{champion:157}} or {{champion:555}} are excusable. Being technically balanced in pro can still mean very frustrating games at lower levels because some champs just poo all over the cardinal rule of meaningful counterplay. That's a design issue that has been biting them in the ass since Irelia's original incarnation of "everything but the kitchen sink in the name of making bruisers a thing" and, even further back, original Soraka. Maintaining two balance branches would be too time-intensive and confusing though. So we will have to live with some champs on permaban status in mid-low until rito decides to address the fundamental issues with their kit design; an expensive and time-consuming option that could go into making a new champ. Looks like they tried to do a good job with Irelia though and maybe, just maybe, they will ignore the fury of Yasuo & Pyke mains to work on them some day too.

Stat tracking is cool and valuable to players at any level, whether they are more interested in peak performance or just doing cool tricks with their favorite champ's kit. The monetization of this system was the biggest drawback of it honestly. Features like this aren't created for free- you have to justify the investment of talent and time that could go towards other projects that could also bring money to the game. If you can't quantify additional player growth due to attracting new players, you have to prove how this will recoup costs and drive more revenue growth from the existing player base... and since detailed stat tracking would not appeal to general players but rather the "hardcore" players who care deeply about their numbers or the fantasy of their mains, you need to sell it as an additional feature. I'm not the target audience for this feature. Even if the price was reasonable (which it wasn't), I wouldn't buy into it. That doesn't mean it can't exist. I just hope Riot offers a reasonable free option -BE emporium for one champ per operative window maybe?- and/or more palatable price to buy with RP for the folks who do want this stuff.

: Riot Is Ruining League of Legends
I've been hearing "rito is doomed, LoL is kill" since I started playing in 2010... when I got sick of the game and Riot's behavior I stopped playing. Came back because a friend got back in and the game's bigger than ever, has more shiny stuff. So no I don't think Riot's doomed. They're probably at the best they've ever been. But I do agree that the new money making tactics aren't on the up-and-up. I don't agree with Riot on Eternals or Little Legends or any number of practices they have to extract money from people's wallets. I spent money in the past because "if you want it, buy it; if you want it cheaper wait for a sale" was very straightforward and fair. Putting player stats and cool things behind baited pay walls ("passes") or gambling machines is not going to entice me to spend money and I haven't spent a cent since I came back a few months ago. I think they have shifted even further away from being ethical. Shame they've followed the industry as a whole on this... best I can say is that they aren't outright evil about it like some other companies. I can only hope that the player base peacefully revolts against the unfair schemes being put forward and forces Riot to reconsider how they market and sell these items.

If they were overly short missions people would get them done very fast and might not even be trying to play, they'd just focus on those. Or, when they did get them done they might be like 'WHERE'S MORE MISSIONS?!" It's a F2P tactic to get engagement, nothing about making sure people are "dedicated enough" or "really trying their best" to earn the rewards. The longer people play your stuff, the more likely they are to throw in a buck or two to pay for some extra stuff to snazz up the experience. I'd prefer shorter missions myself since I just don't have time for all this nonsense but I'm not Riot's target demographic here (they rely on young men aged 13~24 with no or few responsibilities after all). This is a minor gripe though, I won't really worry or get up in arms about the length of the grind until they offer a paid option to skip it like so many other F2P games do. I'm going to settle for not getting all the rewards since the exertion of getting them isn't worth disrupting my normal life.
: Teamfight Tactics needs to be round robin when picking opponents
In the last few rounds there are going to be rematches and ghost army shenanigans. It's unavoidable. But they can improve the matching logic to favor the least healthy person not getting slammed by the top guy 3x in a row while the dudes in the middle faff around with ghost armies instead of fighting each other. It's just a little too random right now. It would be helpful if Rito was less protective of their RNG vision for the game and introduced a little more reliability here.
KiddFly (NA)
: You should not fight the same guy twice or thrice in a row. Repeat matches boring/pointless.
There should definitely be some logic to avoid rematches within the same "sprint". I feel bad if I trounce one guy 2-3 times in a row because I've experienced what he's going through myself. Once the pool is whittled down to the top four there will probably need to be a rematch or two to avoid someone getting free passes to final rounds via ghost army match ups though. A flag would track "fought this player before". Basically after the first PvP match up to the first carousel in round, no rematches. After the carousel the rematch flag is reset and tracks matches until the next carousel or PvE event, which would reset the flags again. Once there are four players left the flag is permanently disabled. Just a thought.

Excuse my sarcasm but I genuinely don't agree with Riot's priorities for this mode here. Items are the key to success so Riot cheerfully saying "you are going to suck this game and finish in the bottom half no matter what you do" is BAD. I don't care if it's good for their vision of the game; it feels awful to me as a player. So much that I've basically abandoned this game mode already. Not going to mention the RNG of who you fight, when? Not going to mention anything about these RNG chances to either permastun the entire team with 6 glacial, or dodge absolutely nothing with 6 yordles? Sure, it all *seems* like just a bunch of chaotic RNG...let's put it this way. In poker (I'll use standard poker, since its the more comparable), the fundamental rules state that each player antes up if they want to participate in that round, then gets 5 cards. The cards, of course, are randomized. You'd then have the option of trading out your cards for hopes at better cards (rerolling your champions in hopes of upgrades), and you can also bet additional money to get others to fold (this honestly equates more to sandbagging, but in poker, this may as well be the equivalent of playing items to look for a 1-up on your opponent in future rounds.) Your decision making in making item x or y, or to econ instead of hyper-roll, or to take the chain vest off the carousel instead of that free unit upgrade, right down to whether you decide to run Blademasters or Wild/Shapeshifters...all of this RNG you're seeing is fundamentally designed to cancel the rest out, and your decision making in *how* to attempt to cancel out your opponent's Draven is *strategy*. I agree it needs to be balanced a bit better, but all these people who keep talking about "reee item rng cucks the entire fucking game!" are just going to move down the line over and over again until they can consistently play their one meta strat every game with no variance. They did this *exact same thing* with regular LoL - they tried to make it super easy for all the meta-tactics to run against each other, and now there's little variance in pretty much anything. Guess what: people are *still* bitching about *everything* they can, from "fuck champion x" to "fuck the game entirely." No...fuck the meta. It's not a puzzle game of "I have these pieces, and I place them in this order to win." It's a *constantly changing battleground*, and it needs to *remain* that way. I don't think anyone is arguing about the amount of RNG in the game mode overall. Can't tell you how many times I wanted to try Yordles or Sorcery, but ended up doing well with something totally different like Glacial + Noble because RNG just swung that way for me. I've tried a bunch of comps I wouldn't normally because of what I had to choose from item- and champion-wise, and it's made the mode all the richer for me. However, the items are just _too strong_. The difference between the haves- and the have-nots is way too big and Riot's solution of granting gold does not really make up for getting components to multiply the effectiveness of your units. If they don't want to tone down the items -fair enough if they don't want to, it's a fun power spike to suddenly shred some faces- they should at least give everyone an equal opportunity to get some. Having the strong NPC fights (like Krugs and onward) guarantee a component (with Dragon onward granting 1 item) is a much more palatable form of RNG reward than getting half a re-roll when another guy got a Recurve Bow and a Needlessly Large Rod.

It's a bit confusing that this is some of the only content in the game that can't be outright bought. One would think that Riot would continue the mostly fair system they already had in place for this latest mode... "surprise mechanics" indeed. Items being optional isn't a free license to prey on the customers who want the product. I recently came back to LoL in part because of good feelings I had about Riot- they didn't always get it right but they definitely had a player-focused vision that I appreciated. This new gambling scheme is straight out of an unscrupulous gacha game and I hope it doesn't mean that we have more "surprise mechanics" to look forward to if it brings a profit.

Are you using Chrome? Worked for me when I signed in using Edge. Seems like a browser-specific issue with session management. If you don't want to set it as your default browser to launch from the client you can just sign in after accessing the link through site nav.

: Losing Promo after a single loss
Same, hit my promo and lost the first game, and it kicked me out of it saying I had 84 LP instead. Should have had best out of 3 instead.

: Change Log
I love everything that's been proposed! As someone who suffers from cluster headaches, knowing I can visit the CB without worrying about triggering a headache is awesome! Thanks for all the hard work. :) P.S.: I also really appreciate the full support of the flat lay-out. Thanks so much.
: This actually is a really difficult problem space. Skins work really well for consumer software like vBulletin because there are lots and lots of people who use it - and of the people who use it, some of them make skins. That means that there are enough skins that are pre-built that site administrators have a variety that they can choose from for their players It's a little more difficult for us. For a lot of reasons - any skin we are going to provide has to be made completely in-house whether it's for these boards or for the forums. Unfortunately it means that any change or upgrade we make has to be made twice (once in each and there's a lot more complexity around things like board-specific background images. Due to those reasons we probably won't prioritize having the option to switch or toggle between multiple skins. You still have some options though... 1. You could start support for a community project like FEK to change the visuals 2. We are aware of (and are actively working on) an eye-fatigue solution if you want to wait for that 3. You could look for some existing browser extensions (they exist for both chrome and FF, not sure about IE) to do things like color inversion or greyscale Not the answer you were looking for - but hopefully it's helpful
Yeah, it's not the reply I'm looking for, but thanks for dropping in here Pendragon. :) I'm willing to wait it out see what you guys do about the problem- I know you'll do your best to strike a balance between clarity and fatigue-inducing. I really only use this to test changes now and then, but eventually I'd like to be on this without the eye-strain issue for an extended time. I'm usually wary about installing extensions, so I'll see if I can tinker with f.lux and my alternate monitor to see if I can get a work-around in the meantime. Thanks for the reply. :)

: Please help with my survey for my final project!
I wanted to take your survey, but there were too many biased questions. There were at least two or three questions that I did not feel like comfortable answering because there were no answers that matched my own. I like playing characters that fit the situation and position I'm in, regardless of their gender/sexuality. Sure, I wish there was more manservice but I don't mind all the sexy lady art either.

: If you feel really strongly about it, hop into the "communityplatform" chat room on NA sometime. Pendragon, myself, Krylhous, and moltovcarrot hang out in there from time to time, and we'd be happy to talk about it with you. I won't be around much this week because of Thanksgiving travel, but the other should be, and I'll be there after.
Hi, I popped in to the chat room and said my piece, but I feel like it'll be drowned in a sea of other's comments. So... Please no more superblinding colour scheme. I get cluster headaches and these forums bring the familiar lurking pulse if I stay on them for more than five minutes or so. A more neutral colour, like tan, would be better as a background I think. I personally prefer dark backgrounds with lighter text, seems to be easiest on my eyes. (The real solution would be to let people choose their own colours but I can see that being a hassle to make when there's already so much on your plates.) Also, it's hard for me to understand the layout and how it's going to better serve my interests. On the front page of the Community Feedback sub-section there are off-topic posts about the PBE and suggestions for skins. I understand that this is a low-population environment right now, but is there any form of moderation ability to move topics to the relevant sections? Is the visibility of a topic primarily decided by upvotes on the original post or by the activity in the discussion itself? When do you expect your downvote algorithm improvements to be implemented? I think tweaking all these things will lead to a better experience. I'll admit that I'm heavily biased against the Reddit-style layout. (Off-topic: I'm incensed that you post more on Reddit than your own site.) I abhor nested replies- for me, the traditional layout on the current forums is easier to monitor and track. Being able to quote without replying is also something I really miss. I feel very strongly that the worst problems on GD will still be present here: loud, popular voices and persistent posters will win out over any other kind of discussion. This is probably very disjointed because I had to keep leaving and coming back to it because of the colour scheme problems, but I hope it's coherent enough to be understood.

: Good question. Currently, Reddit provides a single place for multiple territories to have a conversation. The way that we currently have the web properties setup is on a per-territory basis.
Can the people who dislike this layout and want to be heard... get heard? I don't want to be bitter or mean but I feel ignored. I'm not alone in the sentiment either. It's like you guys are charging full-steam ahead with this horrible system and ignoring anyone who is asking "Why REDDIT of all formats? It's proven to be useless for actual deep discussions!"... simply because a lot of Rioters like and use Reddit. Will there be an option for a flat, old-style format at least?

: Difference between reddit and normal forums
For now, they use Reddit because it's easier for them to communicate information to a global audience. When this goes live, they will theoretically use this instead. Anyone who thinks that their negative opinion matters is probably a little delusional- we must bow to our Reddit-loving overlords if we want to hear news straight from them. I wouldn't be so bitter if they even acknowledged that a lot of people hate this format, but the only response so far is: "Try it, you'll probably like it once you get used to it! Let us know if you don't!". And then there's not a single word about it, and we who dislike it are ignored.
: The forums don't only exist for Riot to talk to the community
Riot's invested way too much in their "improved" Reddit clone to completely re-do the whole thing. This is needlessly hard to read and keep track of, and no matter how many people say they don't want a Reddit-style forum, the devs will ignore us. :( I've been to Reddit several times, I've tried this site several times. I can honestly say that I hate this discussion layout. The only comments that are read are the ones at the top with the most votes- minority voices are drowned out and exiled to the bottom. Not to mention that replies to replies being stacked in the same box is a total eye-sore. If they really want to solve the problem of irrelevant/redundant/caustic threads always getting the most visibility, they could get rid of up/down voting and/or hire or promote positive Summoners to the position of Community Mod to delete and move off-topic or unproductive topics and posts. Having the same basic system with a new look will not change anything for the better.
