: Just a new guy looking for some help
Hey there, SlayinAngus! There's actually a new page that's out, targeted at new players (both starting the game and who are new to ranked). You can ask questions here: https://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/general-discussion/IrVl1IQK-new-players-and-parents-click-over-here-help-is-on-the-way And a more experienced player will happily assist you. : Can someone plz help me get better as a adc and jungle player (none ranked player)
Hey there RaidZero4! Sounds like you're in a rut, and I'm here to help! I'm an ADC/SUP main, and I'll try and go over everything point by point: 1) For your ADC pool, Sivir and Caitlyn are good places to start. They have massive ranged abilities, and their kits don't require too much mechanics to be effective. For Sivir, you should treat your ult like a panic button; If you see an enemy that can be collapsed on, or if a teammate gets caught out, mash that R key. Most of the time, it'll allow your team to re-position and get their bearings. For Caitlyn, I would try a game where you max your TRAPS (W) first, so you can store more of them per level, and use them to control objectives. When your team goes for baron/dragon/turret, use them at a choke point, or scatter them around the turret. A nifty trick is to put the traps in the "blind spots" behind turrets, so unsuspecting players will get snapped. I would recommend expanding your ADC pool to include other easy marksmen. Ashe is generally a good blind pick, as she's lane-focused and her ult is always useful. Twitch can also be a dandy pick, as his stealth is a good escape tool, and his ult allows you to free-fire from your backline (keep in mind he has trouble laning, so make sure you go with a support that can hold their own). Miss fortune brings the smack-down in lane dominance, and can build a wide variety of items. For now, hold off on playing the harder ADC's: Vayne, Lucian, Draven, Kalista, Tristana. These guys require really good judgement and kiting for fights in lane. In terms of farming, my rule is: if I'm using an _ability_ to last-hit the minions, i use my auto-attacks to make their healthbars _low and matching_. If i'm using autoattacks to last-hit, I use my abilities and autos to _space out their healthbars_. This simple technique ensures more gold from the laning phase. 2) For jungle, you should treat Master Yi like an adc, and consider your own team comp first. He doesn't provide Crowd Control, so you will have to rely on your laner's CC to effectively gank. I would play junglers with simple CC combos/abilities: Warwick. His W will tell you if there's a low health enemy, i.e. a good gank target. His E fear is good for pushing enemies toward your team, or disrupting a fight. Udyr. You run up, and stun who you're ganking with your E. Straightforward, and relies on autoattacks. Amumu. His ult is an instant-stun, and you don't need to be picky about who you hit with your Q, bandage toss. 3) Don't worry about ranked! When you play it, you will probably get an "Oh snap!" feeling, and likely feed. This is how it almost always goes for new players. If you want to try ranked, I recommend turning off the client music, cuz it can add to the pressure of champ select. You will also likely end up in a super-low division after your placements; that's how it goes for everyone's first time. 4) For learning a new character, go with who you think looks FUN. When you're getting a feel for what role(s) you want to commit too, you should give everybody you think you will ENJOY. Learning goes fastest when you like doing it! 5) In game, if you think your team is going to lose a fight, it's ok to abandon it. Knowing when to cut your losses is a HUGE step in improving your gameplay. 6) From the iron-silver divisions, I see a lot of "auto-pilot" players, who have the same habits (dragon/baron without clearing wards, using a spell EVERY time it's off cooldown, always buying recommended items, etc.). If you can learn to pick up on their habits, you can exploit them. You see the enemy jungler is camping your toplane? Take dragon, steal their jungle, and threaten botlane! Enemy support always blind checks a bush? Setup a surprise attack with your teammates! While I appreciate the commentary, I should tell you that this isn't a discussion page for the game's age limit; It's more a page to help new players. Favril15 (EUNE)
: Thank you EyeClown you helped me a lot ! Thanks your advices are very useful!I have 200k points Tristana but i have to play her 6-7 months ago!You think that can i main her again ? Thank You
I think that Tristana can be a strong pick, so long as you play her correctly each game. If your support doesn't give a crap about you, you take it upon yourself to splitpush the enemy into submission, and build fast-acting, hit-and-run items (stormrazor+rapidfire combo, which can also work on Twitch). I also find that going domination secondary on Tristana helped me out a TON against squishy lane opponents (Sudden Impact + Ravenous hunter), as Ravenous will proc from the mini-explosions rewarded for last hitting, as well as your W-E-R damage. Again, it's all about abusing the habits of your fellow players. A special note for Twitch; you don't necessarily have to KILL the enemy team with all shots of your ultamite. Building Stormrazor and Rapidfire cannon, you can make plays like this with a good team: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D4flBFBd4uk. Keep this in mind when playing adc in silver elo; sometimes, you have to use a 1 or 2-quick hit and then bolt out of a fight, so your team can clean up. This can also apply to Tristana, who gets extended AA range from her passive. Happy hunting!

Yeah, but in watchdogs, the characters aren't nearly as cartoony as those in LOL; it's meant to be a realistic representation of our world. And there is no _acutal sex_ in LOL.

: personal opinion: the game is rated for ages 12 and up but it should be changed to 16 and up. not due to the community but due to the content of the game there is literally everything that would rate any other game 16+ you have drugs like tabacco and alcohol (graves gragas) you have blood you have racism (ezreal hates noxians, aram ghostshopkeeper hates yordles) you have several sexual acts like nidalee pole dancing, (old) eves dance shacking her tits and her making several sex references (in out done?) you have champs clearly speaking about murdering others you have cursing even tho there is barely anything the latest was xayah calling minions "little shits" but riot removed this lol. you have "child soldiers" namely annie. zoe looks like a child and so does neeko but i know they arent but annie clearly is seriously half of this list would force any game to be rated 16+ and i wanna point out again this list does not take into consideration the community. if it would this game would be 18+++

I'm glad you posted, and I will try and address everything I can point-by-point. 1) The only champion in the game that frequently uses alcohol is Gragas (https://universe.leagueoflegends.com/en_US/champion/gragas/). It's to the point of being ridiculous how much he uses it , so I can see why you're concerned. But, again, he is the only character to do this. Graves (https://universe.leagueoflegends.com/en_US/champion/graves/), while having a cigar, has no quotes promoting the use of tobacco, which you can read about here: (https://leagueoflegends.fandom.com/wiki/Graves/Quotes). 2) If you can reference the blood-content that you're concerned about, that would be great! I don't generally see blood in-game unless it is from Orianna's auto-attack usage, which is known for being old/outdated. And the blood moon skinline tends to just use a lot of red, black, and other edgy colors, instead of _actual blood_. I know this might differ from EUW to NA, so if you ever find clips/animations of blood that differ from our regions, please feel free to post some links! 3) Ezreal isn't necessarily a racist. If you read the lore about Noxus here: (https://universe.leagueoflegends.com/en_US/region/noxus/). Ezreal hates Noxians because they are _actively trying to take over the world_. Noxus behaves as a Rome-like empire, taking over other nations and adding to themselves. As for the ghost keeper on aram, he has one quote that disregards yordles, yes. But keep in mind that: a) The ghost on the map is very, very old, and possibly crazy. He's a spirit that's been there alone for thousands of years, and I don't think he's a character that players are overly-fond of. 4) Personally, I find the Nidalee pole dancing to be kind of weird, but I have to disagree about evelynn's behaviour. Evelynn https://universe.leagueoflegends.com/en_US/champion/evelynn/ is essentially an incarnation of making someone's feelings elevated, then ripping it out through torture. It's a part of her character. If you don't feel comfortable with it, you can mute her quotes in-game through the in-game sound settings by turning down the VOICE volume. And I defy you to tell me that games and media nowadays aren't saturated with some kind of sex appeal, no matter how subtle. 5) Well, it's part of their lore. Vayne, for example, saw her parents murdered when she was a small child. So it's natural for her character desire a purge of all evil being across her world, which you can read about here: https://universe.leagueoflegends.com/en_US/champion/vayne/ And in her quotes, she mainly focuses on words like "purge" , "black magics", and "hunting evil". We also have champions like Twitch https://universe.leagueoflegends.com/en_US/champion/Twitch who is well known for being _criminally insane_, and Warwick https://universe.leagueoflegends.com/en_US/champion/warwick/ who is seeking justice for the slump-city of Zaun by hunting down it's equivalent of mafia-bosses (known in-lore as Chem Barons). He also has a personal grudge against Singed https://universe.leagueoflegends.com/en_US/champion/Singed, who experimented on Warwick to change him from a human into a wolf-machine, so of course he's got some choice words for the mad scientist. 6) I'm almost certain that they removed this curse-line from in-game; as a part-time Xayah main, I have never heard her say it. There is one champion that curses, being Kled https://leagueoflegends.fandom.com/wiki/Kled/Quotes. He has only a small handfull of curse-words, and some of them are even censored with a "bleep". For your earlier point, keep in mind that kids in middle school (ages 12-14-ish), you can extract curse-words from them as a natural resource, as they're in an experimental time for language usage and control. 7) Annie is not a child soldier. You can read about her lore here: https://universe.leagueoflegends.com/en_US/champion/annie/ For a synopsis, she is a child with the gift/curse of pyromancy, who wanders around the outskirts of Noxus, burning her way through danger, and seeking a home that will accept her. For Zoe, https://universe.leagueoflegends.com/en_US/champion/Zoe Synopsis: She is a magical being who is thousands of years old, given powers by a trickster-archetype god who adores her child-like wonder. When she kills someone, she is just trying to play with them, which you can hear about from her quotes on the wiki https://leagueoflegends.fandom.com/wiki/Zoe/Quotes. It's the 6th quote under "movement". "I should figure out a new game. One that mortals can play without dying!"--Zoe For Neeko, https://leagueoflegends.fandom.com/wiki/Neeko/Quotes. When she gets kills or objectives, she expresses distaste and remorse for having to kill (Scoring Kills and Objectives, second and third quotes). "Told you to not get close. Why did you not listen?" --Neeko "Neeko will keep your Sho'ma alive." --Neeko (Sho'ma being soul/personality). 8) The community can be toxic, yes. But there are options to avoid this. You can mute others in-game with the /mute-all commands, or through the scoreboard for specific players. The toxic communities of games are not endorsed by the developers themselves, but I understand how bad this community can get when the game gets competitive :/ If i can ask you, are you speaking as a parent, or speaking as a kid (or possibly both)? Cheers!{{sticker:vlad-salute}}

: Tilt is a real demon
Oof, sounds harsh. I've been in ruts before too (Went from platinum promos, down to gold 5, and BACK to platinum). But this can often happen when a player hits level 30, because there aren't any more bots clogging the system (bot-accounts made to sell to people who don't want to grind to level 30). I think if you focus on your own play more than your teammates, look for new champions that interest you, and keep a positive attitude, you will eventually get out of this rut. On a somewhat related note, I have made a board discussion for new players to ask questions and learn about the game. Yeah sometimes that can happen. I don't think this should affect anything important if it's not frequent. If it's your client that's lagging, I would recommend checking out this link: https://support.riotgames.com/hc/en-us/articles/201752664-Troubleshooting-Connection-Issues , and do what's called a "DNS flush". I don't think that end-game banter should be used as "loot karma", because saying GG at the end of a game would lose meaning (everyone would say it for lootbox value) :/
: I'm not sure what's up with the 14 day ban. The ban after the 14 day seems like normal Riot behavior.
If it's normal RIOT behavior to ban a player after said player tells someone to kill themselves, then good on you, RIOT.
: Helooo?
The first video actually looks really freaky, but the second video is something I think i can explain. Since league is from an angled, top-down perspective, and the hitboxes are close to the feet, it can sometimes look like the hook/skewer goes through a target. That being said, you can report a bug from in-client (bottom right corner) and send these videos in to rito if this happens too often. Cheers :)

: Ranked is Trolling me
Hey there Warwike! I understand how you feel about the silver elo. It's a giant hotpot of people with different skill levels, map awareness, and follow-up participation. I am a plat ADC, and I find silver-elo to be inexplicably harder than bronze AND gold. I found that the best strategy for me (when skill levels vary so much) was to assess the enemy's "automatic" playstyle whenever possible. What I mean is that I will see players repeating their actions over and over again, without regard to punishment or reward (warding the same brush, doing dragon without vision, using spells the instant they're off CD, etc). These are usually players with less experience in whatever role they're playing, so don't be afraid to exploit it. Don't lose heart; I'm sure you'll climb with careful observation, practice, and patience. Cheers :) {{sticker:vlad-salute}}

If it helps, I started a board for something like this: https://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/general-discussion/IrVl1IQK-new-players-and-parents-click-over-here-help-is-on-the-way If you want to participate. It's more aimed at new players/parents, but you are welcome to join! That being said: Dragons now give different buffs Runes + masteries are combined and are now free, AND you can change them in champ select :) Lux got 50 skins Ryze had more reworks More and more champions are "bending the rules" (Sylas ult-copy, Neeko disguises, Ornn with portable shop, etc) Rito is popping off with reworks of old champions/skins New tutorial system In-game voice chat (can only do with premade members) Ranked is now somewhat separated by the player's role (See dev corner posts) Hope this helps {{sticker:slayer-jinx-wink}}

You're also a new player :/ If it's a mistake then he doesn't deserve to stay banned.
KuraSei (NA)
: Ive never felt so bad at this game
It's probably just the chaos of iron-silver elo; don't beat yourself up. I'm a platinum player and I find silver to be more challenging, because of the range of skill and coordination is too chaotic to follow. What I would focus on is punishing enemies who have an "automated" playmode; i.e. they repeat the same actions/make the same mistakes over and over again. Again, iron-silver elo can be a nightmare, even for players who know what they're doing. Keep up the practice and I'm sure you'll climb {{sticker:slayer-jinx-wink}}
: always demand tank support and if ur support says no then u don’t heal him, let him get caught out , don’t even try to start a fight, don’t even bother to save him. Always play passive and loot. Ward at river to keep an eye out of jungle remember to run constantly. Always clear waves
It really depends on the matchup, and being salty to your adc doesn't accomplish anything. If you're playing support, warding river is nowhere near enough to prepare the map for your team. You have to learn to read both junglers, and find good times to ward the enemy camps. If you spot a jungler in the river, half the time it's too late to stop the gank. If you ward their _camps_, you can back off early, or prep a counter gank. Hope this helps out!
Favril15 (EUNE)
: Help Me to reach Gold
Hey there Favril! As a fellow adc main, I can try and give you some pointers for climbing to gold that I don't hear very often, and tricks that I used to get to platinum. For ADC, I would pick champions that punish mistakes really hard. I find that from iron-silver elo, people behave like they're in an automatic loop, and will play the same way/make the same mistakes over and over, This can range from the enemy not warding, to doing dragon without sweeping, to their support using their spells whenever they're off cooldown (regardless of how/why). And it falls on you to punish them. It's also generally good to know if you are going to lose a fight. If your team starts to lose one, it's ok for you to back out, instead of dying with your team. Silver elo is a weird place where anything can happen, and skill/team coordination varies wildly. I find it best to pick champions who can commit for 2 seconds or less, and back out just as quickly. Champions like: Tristana, who can jump on out of position botlaners Twitch, who can ambush splitpushers with an ally Lucian , who can combo whoever steps up, etc. These champions are also decent at splitpushing if either team is too uncoordinated. I find that if my team is too-AD heavy, I pop out the Ziggs and play the harassing-game. He can also punish teams who give up a siege too quickly, and can smash his way through turrets with his passive and W. For general in-game playing across all roles, try and op.gg your allies and your opponents. If you have an ally or opponent on a loss streak, stay wary. If its your ally, work with someone who is less likely to tilt. If it's an enemy, make _them_ your focus; it might tilt them and cause sloppiness. If your ally is tilted in champion select, dodge the game and wait a good 3 minutes before re-queuing, so you don't encounter them again. Hope this helps, best of luck :)

: nice initiation from you i respect that but that is not a small task you try to do if you envelop the parent counseling into your project you may start from: - psychological effect of playing such a bipolar game where a loss brings anger onto their child and a victory brings happines and pride - how it is better to build some personal space when the child goes into a game - and how to tackle daily tasks, league is realy good game if you take 30 -60 min breaks between games to do something but if you binge play for hours it is contraproductive for the house, life and the game
I never said I wanted to be a counselor, and I never said I wanted to fix their relationship problems. I am only answering questions about the game itself. I'm not really sure where you got the counseling idea :/. I mean I'll try and convince them it's just another activity, but I'm no professional.
: i dont mind playing warwick just saying. i could use the practice lel

You might be able to find a YT video of someone _reacting_ to getting an lol-skin on their phone, since there are at least 50 quintillion reaction videos. Best of luck in your investigation :)

You should submit a report ticket to riot right away! In the meantime, see if your email account has a "reference account" to recover it. If not, gather as many details as you can about your acc. so you can prove it's yours later. Best of luck :)
VÏÏ (NA)
: Stop autofilling me jg.
You might want to diversify your champion pool a bit more for jungle, and I don't simply mean more champions. I mean champions that provide different things to each game. Yi is excellent if your team needs a cleaner or a late-scale powerhouse, but sometimes your team comp will already have that. Sejuani and J4 are excellent picks for when you need to bring CC to your team's table. Even if they fall behind, they can still be beefcakes with stuns and knock-ups that don't care about AD/AP as much. It also helps if you know your laner's matchups. Any lane that does well independently, you can prep for a countergank. Any lane that's doing poorly, and you can help your teammate out. You should also ask your laners if they can do more warding after taking control of their respective lanes (river+deepwards). The autofill philosophy runs along the lines of "the needs of many outweigh the needs of few". I think you'll be surprised by how much you will enjoy the role when you expand your pool, but that's just me. Best of luck in your games :)
Dukues (NA)
: Feel like just playing random champs this season in ranked
Well, at the start of the season, honor levels all reset to 2, so during the first week or so you're more likely to encounter toxic behavior. It's an experimental system, and I don't blame the system for feeling wonky. It would have been better to put more of these changes into preseason, but what's done is done. Best of luck in your games!{{sticker:slayer-jinx-wink}}

Be careful of websites that mimic this one, as they take your account information when you "login" using your LOL credentials. Use your best judgement :)

There WAS one event back when Xayah and Rakan were released where you could BE-buy the champs for other accounts, but I doubt we will see this any time soon. I know it can be a grind, but don't get disheartened. I actually became a huge taliyah player after getting her champion shard, even though I was certain I wouldn't like her, so stay open. You will get the champions you want over time :)
voltiguer (EUW)
: LOL is a hard game could anything be done to make it easier to learn
Hey there Voltiguer! 1) I agree with you that the game can be overwhelming to learn at first, so I actually started a discussion on general gameplay, champions, etc. here: https://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/general-discussion/IrVl1IQK-new-players-and-parents-click-over-here-help-is-on-the-way. It's more targeted at newer players/parents, but anyone is welcome to join! We can discuss wave management, rotations, map-play, lane counters, etc., so other people can benefit from the questions. 2) Gold tracking should be a thing; you watch LCS and it shows each player's gold earned over the entire game. I think it would just make it easier for people to understand who is doing well/falling behind. However, knowing the exact amount of gold an enemy jungler has can allow for some rough, early-game calculations for what camps they have cleared. 3) As for the client ping test, I am super on-board with it; It feels unfair to lag your butt off in a game without being able to test it first, because it affects EVERYONE in the game. I usually use the practice tool or ARAM, but I think there can be better systems in place. I think the DRAW option would also be amazing, as it's a way to discourage and minimize the impact of feeders and people who go AFK (whether they chose to or not). It would be tricky to decide how many votes constitutes a draw, but I respect the idea of people having the option to back out of an unfair game.

For example, Ivern is almost exclusively played jungle, but Twitch can be both a jungler AND an adc. Tahm Kench is expensive, but can be played as a support or an off-meta toplaner. It's also good to look for champions that have a balanced winrate against most matchups. You should also try and use the discounts provided from champion shards whenever you can. If you don't plan on getting mastery of a particular champion, then scrap the shards of champions you already own. When considering getting a new champion, give yourself about 3 days before you make a decision, so you don't buy out of impulse. You can also check the LOL wiki for champion price drops when new ones are introduced (https://leagueoflegends.fandom.com/wiki/List_of_champions). I would recommend getting at least 2 champions per role, and then expanding your roster from there. Hope this helps! {{sticker:slayer-jinx-wink}}
raphtor64 (EUNE)
: ezreal is useless.
He might feel useless to you, but any champion can feel weak when they fall behind or their playstyle doesn't match yours, or the rest of your team. It can also be heavily influenced by your build and enemy matchup. For damage, you should change your build depending on the game. Your team has 50 zeds zipping around? Grab a tear and build archangels, with a sweet AP-hybrid build. Enemy team full of assassins? Get your explorer-boi an Iceborn Gauntlet, Guardian Angel, Hexdrinker, and other defensive items. Tanky enemy team? Grab a Black Cleaver, Lord Dominiks/Mortal Reminder, and a BORK. If you play the exact same build each game, your opponents will pick up on this and counter-build to it. He's one of those champions whose abilities can cover a lot of ground with the right items, so your biggest asset will be to tailor your item building to each individual game. You should also consider who the enemy laner is/are. If they're a hook or skillshot based lane (Thresh, Leona, Blitz, Zyra, etc), you can abuse your E to dodge their abilities. If you're against Sir-Spammalot laners (Soraka Q+E, Caitlyn Q + W) or lock-on abilities and damage (Sona-buffed autos, Bard-meep autos, Fiddlesticks Crow), then you're gonna have a bad time. On a somewhat related note, I made a page on helping out players over on the boards (https://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/general-discussion/IrVl1IQK-new-players-and-parents-click-over-here-help-is-on-the-way) for anyone interested in discussing anything they might not get about the game (focused more on new players/parents). I hope this helps!
