: omg riot, Maw of Malmortius nerf wasn't needed!
Nerf needed for maw? Yes. Was this the correct nerf. Hell no. Maw needs to be a functioning defensive item for champions who can't afford to build {{item:3139}} or {{item:3102}} early in the game. Nerfing the defensive stats of an item you should be buying _for the defensive stats_ is stupid. Remove the armor pen and drop the amount of AD it gives you and make it give 50MR again.
: In other words, it was intended that we hit not just Runic Echoes Udyr, but Udyr in general; he has been sitting in the top 5 win rate junglers for every patch since the preseason.
Ugh, decision making based on solo q win rates. My favorite. Meanwhile a champion that hasn't been competitively viable since the days of innervating locket gets a random mid game nerf (which hint: is where he starts to fall off anyway). Udyr was (as far as I can remember) the first champion in this game that really clicked for me, and I can describe his power curve pretty much at will. Here's what Udyr does: 1. He clears better than your Jungler. This is true for almost any champ I can think of barring Shyvana until at least 10-15 minutes in to the game. This is important because most of Udyr's power spike revolves around being ahead in levels. If you're level 18 as Udyr and so is everyone else then you've pretty much lost hope of winning that game through any means other than splitpushing, which will be impossible if the enemy has an opposing splitpusher that actually scales well, ie: {{champion:39}} {{champion:24}} {{champion:11}} {{champion:23}} etc. 2. He wins the 1v1, heck maybe even the 1v2 early enough in the game. In exchange for lack of viable carry builds (meaning you build some form of penetration) Udyr sacrifices any hope of being strong late game for his stupid good early-mid game. Choose any fight you want and as long as the enemy is pushed up and you can chase them long enough to get off 3-4 procs of phenoix you probably got yourself a kill. This works great until about 35+ minutes into the game where even having 2-3 defensive items won't save you getting kited like a bitch and murdered by the likes of {{champion:67}} {{champion:429}} {{champion:81}} . 3. He lacks this fancy thing called an "ultimate". Hello? Yes, that thing that makes champions useful when they're behind. Helps them make super impactful plays on the map? Usually has some form of crazy utility or big chunk of damage? Sound familiar? Maybe not. Think about that, a champion with no gap closer who is Xin Xhao levels of binary in terms of strategy doesn't deserve to be able to win fights early mid? That's what you're trying to tell me? If you can't snowball as Udyr like a monkey there is literally no reason to pick the champion in any situation ever. So while you've denied this isn't aimed directly at Runic Echoes Udyr I'll simply ask this. In a world where AP Udyr is stronger 1v1 than any other Jungler to the point he doesn't have to think to win, is the problem Udyr? Or is the problem that there should be 20+ other Junglers using correct builds who should ~~shit is his squishy melee mouth~~ be beating him?
: I don't care about dominion at all, but here is why I'm still pissed they're removing it
I would really like to hear from a Rioter as to how much influence they actually still have over how they get to spend the resources Tencent gives them. Since Riot literally owns zero percent of the company anymore it'd be interesting to find out. While I feel like it was justified to remove Dominion it may not have even been entirely up to them.
: Can we have a Damage buff on sunfire cape?
Ok. Roll with this for a sec. Champions that would be interested in {{item:3068}} : Tanky champs with lots of CC/sticking power who need waveclear/damage and lack other viable options to add it to their kit without basically troll-building. We're looking at you: {{champion:36}} {{champion:86}} {{champion:58}} {{champion:102}} {{champion:48}} {{champion:154}} {{champion:98}} There may be a few I missed but this is plenty to get the point across. Since the nerfs to {{item:3068}} we have added/reworked the following items, {{item:3071}} {{item:3748}} So now {{champion:86}} {{champion:58}} {{champion:102}} give zero total f@cks about buying a {{item:3068}}** . Leaving us with only {{champion:36}} {{champion:154}} {{champion:98}} as candidates who would be interested in "rushing" a {{item:3068}} . Since the {{item:3068}} nerfs do you know what else has happened? 2 of these guys have gotten signifigant buffs, you don't want them to be any stronger early game. {{champion:154}} is now a top tier jungler for his ridiculous engage potential, {{champion:36}} got a skill that scales with max HP. The only person this leaves realistically is {{champion:98}} . And you really don't want to give a kickstart to his splitpushing game. It's not a fun meta. ** - I'm not insinuating you would build both items on any one of these champions.
: Meddler, Any Plans to Nerf Thresh?
I'm going to regret this. So, I don't think Thresh is OP. I think Thresh is cool, him and Braum are my go-to supports when I have to play that role and I play them both for the same reason. The prey HEAVILY on people with low aptitude for teamwork and people who are unfamiliar with a 2v2 lane in general. I literally can't count the number of times I've snowballed a game from bot lane because someone playing an off-role picked Soraka/Sona/Varus/Ashe etc and just got butt blasted at level 2 because they didn't realize how heavily they were mis-positioning against me. In contrast however, people who generally have any clue what's going on won't allow for this. Thresh has one of the lowest base ADs in the game (lower than Soraka for reference), therefore if his passive isn't fully charged he will do virtually nothing with his AA and when it is charged his scythe literally GLOWS with warning that it is charged. For this same reason most Thresh players opt for AD reds which means Thresh starts the game with 8 less armor than most other engage supports. He's very squishy early and this can be easily punished if he is over-aggressive. Thresh is also feast/famine to an extent. If your team is behind and you can't go for a death bush play on a single target you pretty much do nothing because you're too weak to utilize your Death Leap>Box>Flay combo. On the "hidden power" of Thresh's soul collection please take the following into consideration. In a long 40+ minute game a total soul count of around 100 is fairly common. This amounts to a rather astounding 75 AP and Armor. That sounds like a lot out of context but also realize Thresh has no scaling armor, he starts the game with a flat *16* and this is only increased by collecting souls and buying armor. That means a level 18 Thresh with 100 souls has 91 armor. That's only 3 more than Soraka at level 18 both with 0 items. His total AP ratio is also only 1.9 so his full rotation does an extra 142 damage (late game 100 souls) if he hits you with all 3 spells. His shield only has a .4 AP ratio which means it offers a measly extra 30 HP. If you want to beat Thresh in lane and take advantage of this pseudo feast/famine problem that he has I suggest supports like {{champion:201}} {{champion:1}} {{champion:117}} {{champion:25}} as they will all win a sustained 2v2 against Thresh with his low DPS and try high mobility ADCs like {{champion:18}} {{champion:104}} {{champion:429}} {{champion:236}}

Remilia does not receive criticism for being female, she receives criticism because of previous drama caused by her being a stupid teenager (like most other teenagers). Yasuo doesn't have to commit to melee range to be effective though, his kiting is rather good for a "melee" champion. He also has his wind wall mechanic that makes him invulnerable to some enemies. GP cannot be built as a "melee carry" without committing entirely to split pushing, which is fine because that's what his rework was designed for.

: My point wasn't to complain, but rather to point out that people demonstrate obvious mistakes and then assume that ARAM can't be balanced.
Ok. New thought. Dash is removed. Flash now has a map specific cooldown of only 120 seconds. It gives champions like {{champion:3}} a chance to engage more than once every 5 minutes but without the devestating range advantage. He can still make plays but your entire team doesn't get rocked every time his ult is up unless you legitimately misposition. Also he isn't screwed waiting around 5 minutes at a time to be useful as anything but waveclear.
Mandaari (NA)
: Anybody that truly believes this isn't putting the effort in to learning the mode. Champion select obviously influences the game, but to say it's decided or even remotely close to 90% is blatant hyperbole. I'm finishing up leveling a second account right now (no, neither are ARAM smurfs) and I play ARAMs on my smurf every so often. It's depressing how people that have no idea what they're doing treat ARAMs. They give up when they have a clear win condition. They make mechanical mistakes. They ignore obvious build paths. They straight up AFK. You want to do that crap? Fine. But doing that crap and wanting to be balanced around is where I draw the line. No snowball was not balanced, but with snowball is worse. Should snowball be removed? Yes. But there needs to be follow up changes too.
I play _mostly_ ARAM. So I'm well aware that most people don't get what the hell to do if they don't roll the {{champion:110}} {{champion:37}} {{champion:99}} {{champion:81}} {{champion:12}} comp. And after reading your reply a second and third time, the only disagreement we have is the very first point, (Which I still contest is wrong) and the rest is you complaining about noobs on your team while leveling an account. So I don't really know what we're arguing about.

Mandaari (NA)
: It's time to acknowledge that Mark is an unhealthy novelty
ARAM is impossible to balance. Considering the only option is to constantly 5v5, 90% of the game's outcome is decided at champ select (the other 10% is decided upon whether or not your whole team connects to the game xD). SR has multiple strategies that allows for all champions to thrive in some form, but that simply doesn't exist in ARAM. So either you limit the champion pool or make it less random. Neither of which is good for a game mode called "ALL RANDOM all mid". The only thing you can do is just accept these realities and make the most of a 1 sided match up. I played 5 ARAMs yesterday and 4 of the 5 were decided at champ select. 2 easy wins, 2 easy losses and 1 actual game where teams were even and we came out on top. That was a _good_ day in ARAM. I've had streaks of 5-6 bad team comps in a row and just had to stop for the day, but it's nothing that stops me from coming back and playing more. So while I get where you're coming from, and agree snowball did nothing to fix ARAM, it also didn't ruin anything that was functioning super well in the first place.

: Oh no, don`t get me wrong I completely agree with your whole thread. I did the math one day and his contaminate at 5 stacks deals about an AA worth of damage early game, so it`s not too bad early, but later in the game it becomes negligible I think it`s part of the reason twitch isn`t seen as often anymore,
Twitch isn't seen anymore because right now ADC's need to be able to do 1 of 2 things. Win lane so hard it doesn't matter that their late game is bad {{champion:429}} {{champion:42}} Provide enough utility that it doesn't matter they're useless mid-game {{champion:22}} {{champion:15}} The only edge cases to this are {{champion:67}} and {{champion:18}} who have enough mobility that they can capitalize on an early snowball and hit their lategame fantasy sooner than normal. Twitch's late game teamfight potential is still very high but he gets there so infrequently it doesn't matter.
Tusutaki (NA)
: Because 2 out of 3 of those champions scales with actual ad and ap? You're grasping at straws here.
I'm not grasping at anything, either you completely don't get what I'm asking or you live in some fantasy universe where your starting item has to be offensive. Dshield has the potential to be an extremely strong starting defensive item. There was literally a patch it was so good that supports started dshield+1 pot because it made laning so safe, this extended across all roles and unless you benefited more from the mana regen of ring (mid lane mages) or you were an ADC, you bought shield exclusively, regardless of champion (obviously witholding junglers still bought machete). Since the following nerf it fell completely from favor in any role and has only been bug-fixed a couple times since. Flat out buffing shield in terms of damage reduction or stats, DOES NOT benefit tanks or ap bruisers any more than any other champion.

It will just make everyone start with that item, and the stronger AD lane bullies will _still make better use of it than they ever will_. I did read your post, but you failed to do it for my post. "Not even tanks or ap bruisers. " That's why we have to make Doran's shield exclusively useful for them, but not for ADs. ADs already have Doran's Blade as an excellent choice. Your point was buffing doran's shield would benefit ADC/AD Bruisers. My point was tanks and AP bruisers aren't negatively affected by the buff of Doran's shield, while ADs are. ADs mostly deal damage by AA. Introducing a stronger Doran's shield that mitigates AA damage would be an additional option to reduce their early game domination. It only benefits ADs if they are facing another ADs opponent, but this will give tanks and AP bruisers an alternative starting item. Please don't get offended because you didn't fully understand my point. I didn't really think I would have to explain in details for your laziness to think.
Ok. No longer upset. Please explain, how, you would buff dshield in a way that would make it a "tanky" starter item, that would in no way benefit {{champion:92}} {{champion:58}} {{champion:55}} but would be great for {{champion:36}} {{champion:154}} {{champion:57}}

: You misunderstand my post. I don't care that a new item is being created, nor do I really care how strong it is. What I DO care about is Riot removing an item I HAVE played with and I like to build: current Zeke's. I don't see why everytime Riot gives us something, they have to take something else away.
But you should care about how strong it is. Elise is a Jungler, she literally has no other purpose but farm camps, take objectives and gank like a mad spider lady. The problem is that her kit is so fine tuned for jungling that she was too good at it (even being able to execute extremely safe tower dives as early as level 3) so she got all her numbers fucked. She needs a rework so she can have abilities that actually do damage again. As far as how to build her she can be played with cinderhulk and a lot of tanky cdr items or with magus focusing items like abysall and liandries etc so she doesn't instadie before she can combo.

: Its not giving her another skill. Its her receiving what she should already have, a real passive. She wasn't broken she was strong in the meta, look at lee sin he was at her level in power at the time she was strong but he didn't receive the nerfs he deserves and now they decided with the recent changes that he doesn't need to be touched. How is that fair to Elise? She was nerfed because she was a strong pick like Leesin and now he gets a free nerf pass but she didn't? So no its not fair, she needs buffs to be viable again. She is avoided because she is weak.
Ha. Elise wasn't broken. Dank meme bro.
: Can Elise get a Real Passive?
You can't give Elise MORE skills, that's what got her nerfed in the first place. She was the most broken early game jungler in all of LoL for a while because she had a stun/gap closer/sustain and enough damage to one shot you with a full rotation at level 3. She got her numbers gutted because she already has all the best abilities for a jungler built in. If you want to see her buffed this is the wrong way to go about it because giving her a whole extra skill (even a passive one) would be unthinkable for the balance team. To be fair though she doesn't really need much at this point to be viable again, she isn't avoided because she's garbage, she's avoided because the amount of skill it takes to player does not directly equate to extra power. Like... Nunu is exceptionally easy and you can do relatively well with him with minimal effort, therefore high win/pick rate. Azir is exceptionally hard to play but if you put in the work it's worth it because his ability to do free damage in a teamfight is insane. With Elise you practice getting the best use out of 2 independent champion forms, a rather small long range stun and a wonky repel mechanic only to be rewarded with a champion that is best early game and completely outclassed by some easier champions.
