: 1. Champion costs never go up in RP. They only decrease in both RP and BE - the oldest champion (or sometimes more than one) from each tier will be bumped down to the next cost tier when a new champion is released. 2. "Reduce Blue Essence" doesn't make sense - you get more purchasing power with BE than you ever would've with IP under the old system. 3. Pricing items at "odd" rates... they don't do this. The costs of skins have been set for years now, and the amount of RP you get (outside of sale) from each level at each payment option has been set as well. This is the same as any store offering set tiers of gift cards that you buy for someone - if you give them a $20 gift card they won't be able to buy something worth 21$. You are welcome to hold the RP in your account until something comes along that you want and can afford with your remaining RP, or not buy RP in the first place.

These situations regularly slip through the cracks because the system is automated, and in my experience, Riot's support staff has zero empathy or compassion for context because they don't review In-game footage. They just read their scripts, say "well, you shouldn't have said that" and pass you on to the next person. This kind of unfairness actually CREATES angry players. > > The only thing that makes actual sense is that permabans are good for riot's bottom line. It's main focus is milking e-sports and making as much money as possible before bubble bursts.

: Numerically speaking, there are 67 million active accounts on LoL. Let's say only 50% of them play 1 game a day. That's 33.5 million accounts for 1 game a day, meaning 3.35million games a day. If only 10% of the games gets a report, that's 335,000 reports that need to be reviewed. Assuming 5 minutes to review a game, that's 1.675 million minutes or 3.18 years of man power needed to review 1 day's worth of games alone. Even if my numbers are off and only 10% of my numbers are true, it'll still take 3 months and 3 weeks of man hours to review 1 days worth of reports. The tribunal used to work this way and some people didn't get punished until 2 years down the road. Lesser about lazy, more about impractical. That said, players can submit a ticket to https://support.riotgames.com and have them manually review the punishment again. --- --- --- It's really hard to pin point what words are triggering the games you are reported in to be valid reports, but I have a feeling that you have alot of minor toxicity in your logs that build up and eventually burst. You may not see those as minor toxicity/ harassment, but the community sees it differently. My personal take is that if I offer advice once and they don't listen, I don't stay on them and get them to have to admit their errors. Keeping harping on their errors just tilts them more and at that point, they can no longer concentrate and the game is lost through internal psychological warfare. If I determine that the game can't be won cos of my teammate's bad choices, I switch focus to play to improve. I think of ways to outplay the enemy, maybe practice better micro mechanics or wave management, warding locations or guess where the enemies are in fog of war. : > The only thing that makes actual sense is that permabans are good for riot's bottom line. This form of discipline doesn't correct behavior, perpetuates gang-like abuse, and makes Riot (plus all the sites that sell accounts) tons of money. How does any of that make sense? For starters, account-selling sites are something that Riot is vehemently against, and on top of that, they're a waste of money, for two reasons: 1. The game is _Free-to-Play_, meaning any bought account is money wasted, and 2. _Buying accounts counts as account-sharing, and is against the ToU_, meriting a permanent ban when identified. Beyond that, the Permanent ban is not there to correct behavior, it's to remove players that refuse to change. The permanent ban is Riot's last resort when someone goes out of their way to break the rules again and again and again. And Riot doesn't _want_ the money from a player who got permanently banned. They want the banned player to leave and find another game. Beyond that, if someone gets permanently banned, the odds are high that if they _do_ come back, which in and of itself is rare, that they're not going to spend money on the game - since, they know that if they're not careful, they'd wind up right back at square one. Permanent bans are only lucrative in that they get rid of the players who would ruin the game for the players who would actually play by the rules. Those who play by the rules, then, have the confidence to spend money in the game, knowing that Riot gets rid of the bad apples. > ...but how greedy do you have to be to keep running a flawed discipline system _that literally steals money_ from people... And this is where it becomes difficult to take you seriously. Riot doesn't steal money. People _give_ Riot the money, in exchange for access to content in League. That content can be revoked at any time - and Riot only chooses to actually do so when the player earns a permanent ban. : Reminder for 2019 Riot Games :D
League of Legends e-sports is making enough money to sustain its company, despite it's diminishing player base. Because of this, Riot doesn't have to listen to the complaints of it's players. High and low elo players have often agreed on the same issues within the game or for Riot to ignore it and produced other issues with changes that many players never asked for. Many of the solutions the teams at Riot provides are usually off the mark, but players who have hope for the game try to hold and hope that each upcoming patch will address their concerns. When these concerns are continuously ignored, many players are too invested in the game and just deal with it as much as their patience allows.
: most of the players of this game are never going to be able to reach gold, that's roughly 70%, so you have a vast majority of the player base never even understanding the basics of macro play, wave management, proper csing, proper trading, rotations, champion match ups etc AND THEN people randomly play anywhere from their best down to straight up hard feeding if they're tilted there is no way to balance a game like this because it is too hard for most of the playerbase to grasp on a basic level, and further most of the playerbase cannot mentally handle the stress of this game either and be what you call "tilt-proof"
> [{quoted}](name=S9 Iron IV,realm=NA,application-id=yrc23zHg,discussion-id=F1tnOwcY,comment-id=0002,timestamp=2018-12-24T06:50:01.345+0000) > > most of the players of this game are never going to be able to reach gold, that's roughly 70%, so you have a vast majority of the player base never even understanding the basics of macro play, wave management, proper csing, proper trading, rotations, champion match ups etc > > AND THEN people randomly play anywhere from their best down to straight up hard feeding if they're tilted > > there is no way to balance a game like this because it is too hard for most of the playerbase to grasp on a basic level, and further most of the playerbase cannot mentally handle the stress of this game either and be what you call "tilt-proof" I somewhat agree with many of your statements. However, I feel that Riot has access to more than enough information about each player to attempt to provide more balanced matchmaking. The concern comes when Riot's system would rather decrease queue times at the detriment of more evenly balanced matches. If it was optional, I personally would elect to wait longer for games given the matches were more balanced. I feel this would truly make the matches more challenging. To clarify, having both teams possess some knowledge of how to win a game would create more engaging battles on the Rift as opposed to forcing players to carry the 1-2 players that are prone to either intentionally feed or play poorly on either team. In either case, a player who is unskilled but works with his teammates has a better chance of helping his team than a player who players poorly then elects to play selfishly while ignoring his team, forcing a 4v5 battle that ultimately creates hostage games and makes playing less enjoyable.

: You literally describe the way the system's supposed to work. At your deserved MMR, you will lose 50% of games. Thus, the chance of you winning two in a row is 25%. This likely happens a lot. The chance of you winning 4 in a row is only 6(ish)%. The chance of you winning 8 in a row is 1(ish)%. This isn't a fault in the system. It's the fact that you're at your deserved MMR, thus are losing about half of your games. Riot has no way of predicting a player's performance before your game, thus there is no way of Riot "trying" to match you with teammates that will be playing poorly. Riot doesn't have a crystal ball any more than you do.
> [{quoted}](name=rujitra,realm=NA,application-id=yrc23zHg,discussion-id=F1tnOwcY,comment-id=0001,timestamp=2018-12-24T05:41:29.250+0000) > > You literally describe the way the system's supposed to work. > > At your deserved MMR, you will lose 50% of games. Riot doesn't have a crystal ball any more than you do. I find your statement to be contradictory to what Riot states and promotes. Additionally, the new ranked changes further adds confusion around the MMR. For example, being Silver and having Iron players in games. The system claims to promote balanced matches, however as you mention, it has no way of predicting player's performance. This alludes to the matchmaking being mostly random. Ironically, Riot has full access to many stats about its players that they chose not to include in matchmaking that could provide more accuracy in matchmaking. With the way the system is operating, you are often playing against your team versus to playing to defeat the enemy. Being placed with accounts that have a history of intent feeding is overkill to providing a "50% win ratio."
