: Couple things: Do things to get you noticed. Great plays whatever. Make sure you honor. If everyone honors everyone gets a little honor. Play AI. Usually these aren't toxic environments (usually.) and people just honor at the end for whatever. If you encounter toxicity in chat, don't be toxic too. Try to be nice "Hey you tried your best" even though they're 0-30. {{sticker:slayer-jinx-wink}}

: Smurfs ruining ranked.
I guess no-one feels the same way I do.
: Smurfs ruining ranked.
I feel that Riot has a responsibility to ensure that you are matched against people of similar skill. They have ZERO policies associated with smurfs, boosting, etc. This is UNACCEPTABLE! It's fundamentally irresponsible to have a rank called "Gold" but allow Diamond+ players to abuse the member base. The whole CONCEPT of ranked play is that you are matched against people of similar skill to create a fair, fun team match. It is no longer fair, fun, or a team game. It is simply a bunch of smurfs making money off people willing to pay them to "boost" their account to a another ranking that they can't perform at. So boosters ruin people in the ranks they are boosting past and the people in the higher rank get to enjoy have a boosted player feed in their games. The concept of smurfs/boosting creates MANY problems throughout the ranks. The fact that Riot still turns a blind eye to it is UNACCEPTABLE!
: Smurfs ruining ranked.
Player named "joobacapbra" just admitted in /all chat that she bought her account. So a booster leveled the account to Gold and sold it to her. That booster kicked a bunch of actual silver/gold ranked players asses in to create that account. This can't continue for the health of ranked play.

I mean is this just the way the game will be now?

: Ranking Improvements
But that falls under, "losing on purpose" and is against the rules. What you're suggesting is that the ranking system should be designed to encourage people to follow the rules? Honestly that's two separate issues isn't it? But okay, in your example I think the chance for gaining more elo warrants that final attempt. The amount of grade you would lose for one more death wouldn't cause that much of a difference by end game. So you risk maybe 1 elo to gain 10 more...
: Ranking Improvements
Ok so I guess everyone is perfectly happy with the current ranking / matchmaking system then? I'm surprised that I didn't get more comments about what other people would do to improve it.

: Padding stats is less work then winning. I don't trust folks to not give up and pad for a softer loss.

I don't trust folks to not give up and pad for a softer loss. You mean through forfeit? Because if they just stop trying their grade will diminish quickly, and then they won't get any padding. Maybe if they forfeit there is no padding. This would encourage teams to continue to try until the very end. You need to actually finish the game with a high grade to get the padding then?

Google "League of Legends Boosters". Read how DUOQ boosting is considered "Legal" by Riot. 2. Use inference to determine that in order for boosters to maintain a Silver / Gold elo they must lose games on purpose. 3. Realize the corruption. You want some sort of screenshot with an arrow pointing to a smoking gun?

It's about how Riot is corrupt because they ignore boosters which violate their own policies.
: So I mean how are you supposed to tell the difference between that and someone playing with their friends?
You can tell the difference when match history shows 90%+ win rate when DUOQ and < 20% win rate when SOLOQ. I'm really surprised any of you would be ignorant to this concept by now. Just Google League of Legends Boosting and read about how these companies "avoid" detection and how DUOQ boosting is "legal" by Riot. Stop feigning ignorance and face this reality.

That is not a valid counterargument. You have yet to provide proof of your claims. Thus nobody has any reason to believe them. In order for corruption to be at play, Riot has to profit directly from the boosting. But players who start new accounts are just as likely to pay for in-game cosmetics as other players are who buy bot-ed accounts or pay for boosting to get a certain rank. So even the most likely "reason" related to boosting is untenable. If Riot is receiving money from organizations that run boosting operations, then I would certainly believe that Riot is corrupt for this reason, but this is highly unlikely because Riot is a large company and decisions are made more in groups than they are by individuals. The cost of bribing Riot to allow boosting to continue would be astronomical because you would have to bribe multiple people in the decision making groups, and on top of that you would have to keep it a secret from whistleblowers at the company. As it stands you'd have much better luck claiming that Riot is corrupt for some other reason. If you want to raise boosting as an issue then don't try to manipulate the situation by tying it to corruption at Riot. At that point you're just trying to force Riot to pay attention to you by misleading public opinion.
I'm not suggesting that Riot is being paid off by the boosters. I'm suggesting that Riot profits from booster activity. That the boosters create more revenue for them so they turn a blind eye. This is corruption. Riot is corrupt because they allow activity which goes against their policies in order to make more profit.
: This is a very interesting post, makes me think a little bit. i am not saying your post if wrong. it might be true since people are trying so hard to disagree given the amount of down votes you're getting although Proof is the more important thing here. i think we need to know if these "feeders" are the actual paid boosters as opposed to terrible players/trolls. screen shot, record, do anything you can to prove your theory then send to riot BUT You're ranked is determined by your skill level. if your stuck in an elo you cant really blame feeders, you just have to carry your team as best as you can and take loses in stride.
I'm perfectly happy with my current rank. I enjoy competitive games at my level.
: Riot is corrupt.
More important to point out anything possibly wrong with what I said and ignore the actual problem I was trying to get across. I understand if you don't think boosting is an issue. But I do.
: Riot is corrupt.
Ya'll know I'm right, fan boys....
