: hm well there are a few things you can try on your end to see if it helps 1) Don't have background programs running (unless the pc needs them to function properly). By having other programs open in the background; your internet browser, discord, music, even the league client itself, can cause some fps/ping issues. (There is an option to toggle if the client stays open while you are in a game. In settings under general, check the "Close client during game" option is checked. 2) Tweak your League settings for low fps and graphics. The low FPS option is also under general in settings, so you can do that while you check the other box I told you about. As for graphical settings, you actually need to be in a game do to that. So just start up something like co-op vs ai or training. Go into the settings and look around for the graphical options. Just put everything at low/minimal/off (if it lets you). 3) Make sure your internet connection between your pc and router/modem is wired and not wireless. Yes wireless can be more convenient but that does create some lag, as the more the signal has to travel, the weaker it gets (going through walls and doors might not even be possible). 4) Check with your ISP if you are eligible for a new/upgraded router/modem. After about 3-5 years, they tend to fall short a bit due to wear from use. (Same can be said for an ethernet cord). So often a new router/modem can help. Usually if you are lucky it won't cost you anything for the upgrade (maybe an installation fee at best). If you aren't eligible or can't afford an upgrade, check your router/modem for a reset button and press/hold it. It will basically be like almost brand new (aside from age) but anything connected via wireless will need to be reconnected. If you have too much stuff connected to your network, that will slow down your internet speed as well. 5) Get a higher speed/better connection. Most games that are online require a rough 16M/s download speed to play with little to no lag. Granted that is based on minimal connections and people being online at the same time. If you have a myriad of people and stuff connected to your network, consider doubling your speed at minimum to help mitigate lag. You can also ask the ISP if they can put in a new connecting line from the pole to your house, and it won't cost you a dime since it is outside the home.

I'll give those a go And I do not think it is the connection because other online games play fine, it's mostly league that is the issue but if they start having issues i'll def look into that.
: Client wont re-open
If you have a mac I know the fix for this, dunno about windows. When League opens they create a file called the "lockfile" which prevents you from reopening several league of legends clients at the same time. When it closes properly I think it removes that file. If it crashes or you force quit it, it doesn't remove the lockfile properly and so it will prevent League of Legends from opening again when you launch it. I do not know the location of the lockfile on windows but on mac it's here: You would right click League of Legends.app, select "Show Package Contents", go to contents > LoL and check if there is a file called "lockfile" in there. If there is, delete the lockfile (the client will create another one on open) and open the client again and it should work. The lockfile should be somewhere on windows somewhere but I have no clue where, good luck.

: Lag spikes and game freezes
Me too. The thing that I tried that helped me two weeks ago (before the recent slew of lagspikes and fps problems) is in the client settings: check low spec mode, close client during game. Then in the actual game, I would put all settings to lowest, remove eye candy, remove all of the prediction whatever thingies in gameplay, mute emotes, don't show enemy emotes and it was playable when my computer battery was fine. Unfortunately right now I still get lag problems and heat ever since the last patch (?) or two patches, not sure.

: Actually, if they changed Pix to be more of a pet that just a point and click, that would be pretty neat. Like if Help, Pix changed into a command that moved Pix and shielded allies and damaged enemies when Pix got near them. Kinda like a Orianna's ball. Then Whimsy could be a bit more... Whimsical. Like if the polymorph could work both ways, and turn allies into giant pixies or something like a scary version of what she turns enemies into, while keeping and buffing all their attacks and abilities. Cause right now Whimsy just benefits attack speed champions. Plus her Wicked skin should be changed to be more in line with the Bewitching skin line.

: I was unjustly banned, my states League Of Legends Tournament is in 2 days and im crying please help
I'm sorry but it is justified. We all get mad and on tilt sometimes (and often times someone isn't inting, they're a bad player or inexperienced and learning), but you can't put that tilt on other people, they are humans playing this game as well even if you do not know them personally. You can get on tilt irl, but not in chat. If you want to do objectives or tell someone back off, it's probably more appropriate and quicker to ping. Sometimes esp with someone having trouble, you can psych out your entire team by screaming at one or 2 people. Sometimes even if the person is inexperienced, they may pick up the steam in the midgame and by going on tilt and salting over everyone, you've made the match experience of the other players, including the silent players who aren't having trouble not fun, and psyched out your team. I do not think it is a bannable report offense for people in this game to not be skilled or to be outplayed by their opponent, players have to start somewhere. It is, however to be salting all over your teammates because they were outplayed or unskilled. Next time you have another upcoming state LoL tournament, don't let yourself type angrily in chat and be on your best behavior. I do not think posting this will get you unbanned, it seems unlikely riot will make an exception for you, even with the tournament in two days. One person I know deals with the tilt by being pretty upset, but they just don't expose their teammates to it, and ping for the objectives that's all. It's called sportsmanship.
: Whats your favorite ship
: why am i suddenly on a loss streak?
For me, it's usually because I'm tired and my brain is crapping out, or my computer is overheated or the fps is dropping. *dodges tomatoes* I don't think I've ever experienced loss 'streaks' out of nowhere, actually, I'm straight up 50/50 but the very few times I experienced a loss 'streak' it was because of tiredness. what's happening in your support games? not that i'm any good at it, i'm an old returning player and a damn casual playing norms and filling all the time these days. The *old* way of support was that if you are playing "just good enough" then you are straight up dependent on your team, you do fine if your team is fine, if your team is not fine you don't do fine. If you are playing really good, you should be able to at least give most bad adcs a chance, and even if your adc craps out, be able to carry the team fight with support items that help the team as a whole/give the team enough of an edge to win the team fight and lead the objectives and stuff (ooooh, old aegis, i loved you so) or depending on your type of support, initiate or stun-target the bad guy and stuff. Buuut maybe you're doing that and Idk how it is now though With the changes I don't know how it is now, though. Hopefully some experienced in the current gameplay main supp player answers. On the other hand it's entirely possible you won so hard your hidden eloscorethingwhatever changed and went up and now you're matched with players more senpai so it'll need to settle down a little to find the right spot where you're at 50/50
: after the mission i am never playing aram
: Cannot play the game. Is it always this horrid?
Sadly it's kind of a thing that happens with MOBAs- people don't really learn sportsmanship. LoL is a little better these days because if you are level 30 you do find some games where everyone is chill or the game is really hilarious and friendly or most people are just quiet and ping. If you just started it's even worse because a lot of people are immature and migrating from other MOBAs where they don't get punished for being awful and start to salt and rage on their teammates, and they haven't gotten banned and punished in LoL for being toxic yet. (There *is* punishment for toxicity going up. I started a smurf to play with my friend who just started together, went one game in it and was shocked at how awful people were behaving comparatively to my usual account). I would suggest as the others said, muting all and enjoying the game. So it *does* get better when you've leveled up till there is ranked and most of them have started to be punished for toxicity and learned to not rage and so on. It's a little easier in the ARAM and featured game modes, where everyone is playing casually, so there is less of the toxicity, and normal games when there is ranked for people playing seriously. You can communicate objectives even if you mute all and also use pings for objectives- most games use pings for objectives anywho. From what I recall (though it was a long time ago) of my experience smurfing (versus my experience now, where I usually don't mute all unless i need to coz people are quiet and amiable in norms but you can get a jerk 1/5 games or 1/2 games or something), I would recommend muting all and enjoying the game. or muting your teammates :3.

As said, even us 'never surrenderers' do surrender in some cases- not when the game seems lost and we have to kill the nexus, but someone has somewhere to go to, we have an AFK so on, at least we play it out. I really do want to seperate us from the people who are in it for a quick win and if the game isn't stomp then ff at 20 though so we don't have to get on each other's nerves. So all you have to say to that mountain of good points, is no we will still have a surrender option? Lol. What aboutthe myriad of other problems your idea presents? Just non-issues to you? You dont mind waiting 10 more minutes to start a game, even though you're on a very limited time constraint? Or the fact that many players throw integrity out the window when online, and will still surrender in your queue just so they can get matched faster, if it does end up being faster? Or the many trolls who will join that queue specifically to piss you off because some people have hatred (i know, its odd, but you seem to hate surrenderers so you understand im sure) for people who never surrender, so they surrender just to troll your types?

: People like you are why I hate playing sometimes, honestly. If the score is 2v20 and we are on the losing side, we have 0 turrets and they have mostly all of them, and they're pushed up to our inhibs, IT IS NOT WINNABLE. PERIOD. But nooo let's keep going bc #winnable and spend another 20 mins just defending the base while they slowly push in with baron buffs and elder and eventually end the game that should have ended 20 or so minutes ago. I'm all for not surrendering if the game is winnable. I've come back from games that would have been lost if a surrender vote went through. Hell, sometimes I'm the one to start a surrender vote for a game we eventually win later on! It happens. You wasting my time isn't anyone's issue but yours either, you're literally saying that I am not allowed to have fun so that you can have fun. SAnd it's not just my issue, other people do not have the time too. But it is very frustrating dealing with people who FF way too early. Would not seperate queues make us happier? Then I never deal with people surrendering at 20 because they lost their lane even tho towers are up and people are fed, and then you don't have to deal with me.

: This will work out much worse than you expected... First and most obvious, dividing the current queue will mean longer queue time for everyone. That means longer wait time for you, longer wait time for me, longer wait time for everyone before you get a match. Worse for you than me because there are less "never give up, never surrender type" than you think. Also people who never want to surrender can and will still join the surrender queue for faster queue time and just vote no to surrender vote making it so much worse than your "no surrender" queue. The opposite is not true because the surrender people will never join the no surrender queue. MMR matchmaking fuck up. As explained, the "no surrender" queue will have very tiny portion of player base. Matchmaking will rarely be able to find a fair proportional mmr match. You will frequently be forced into "Diamond vs Bronze" game because nothing else matchmaking can do due to small queue pool. We know that ain't fun for anyone in that match. "Fountain camping troll". This will give rise to those fountain camping trolls that refuse to end the game. They will just sit at your fountain killing you over and over and over. You have no option to end the game via surrender vote. Your only choice will be to afk. When you run out of your daily alotted game time, you will have to afk and frequently. Low Priority Queue. Due to your eventual frequent afk when you no doubt run into fountain camper trolls, you queue time will be significantly worse (think likely hour+ before you even allowed into champ select). Even when you give up and move to "surrender" queue, you will still be sitting and staring at the screen for 20 mimutes before queue even start matching you. Oh and "surrender" queue also will suffer higher queue time on top of your LPQ. Afk / flamer / inter. Even the never give up, never surrender people do surrender every so often. Take away that ability altogether, you will see a big rise in afk in your game because that's the only way to end the game early without surrender vote. Or you will run into inter much more frequently to force the game to end. Oh and the flames because you will sit in a losing game that last longer than it should due to no surrender vote.

: So i did something for once.
: Please bring back Dominion!
There still is a need for a timed, shorter game than twisted treeline though without dominion. Twisted Treeline doesn't fill that...
: > Why did you even take it away with customs? Maintenance, apparently. Keeping it functional takes effort, and so few people played it it was not worth it. It had nice music.. about the only thing going for it.

I still wish the main game was back.

What about as a rotating game then? Honestly, it didn't feel like a vocal minority to me, are there stats anywhere about TT players versus dominion players? The dominion queues were always about the same or quicker than the twisted treeline queues

: the problem with the game is not the game itself, its the community
Agreed. The game is super fun, I still play for the game, but agreed. Even if it is most competitive games sadly, it is still up to the devs to try and make the behavior a higher standard and consequences for it, which they are trying. Sportsmanship and not being sore losers is a thing even if it is game esports. People seem to be less awful these days, I hope Riot manages to improve player behavior.
: Why is ARAM FF so long? it's basically the average length of a game.
it's rightly that way, the game is way too short for surrendering and it's a casual game mode, by surrendering you just waste people's time unless there is something pressing irl. It's 15-20 minutes, 30 minutes at most. For goodness sakes, the queue is freaking 5-10-15 minutes depending the game is as short as the queue on bad luck. There is really no reason to surrender otherwise except to intentionally piss your teammates off or use it to force them to lose. (or going 4v5). They shortened it earlier and it was a disaster, people were surrendering before the game even started so folks couldn't even get to play the game and people just quit way too early . If you only have time for a single 30 minute game to play, it's not a good situation. Also tower doesn't determine it, won plenty of games where lost first tower And have won several 4v5 afks, altho a remake would be nice. but Heth has a point
: I don’t understand what criteria Riot used to decide who gets traditional skins and who doesn’t
