: A friend of mine is starting league for the first time
Xin Zhao is a good starter champion for the jungle. He's very straightforward with a clear win condition of jump on enemy and knock them up. I've gotta say though, I think Annie is the best champion to learn the game on. You can learn to CS with Q. You can also learn about windows of strength/vulnerability when your stun is ready. I think there are lots of good things to learn by playing Annie

: Eternals Feedback Thread: Set 1 Uniques
{{champion:133}} My feedback on Quinn eternals. * Enemy champions killed within 5 seconds of leaving Behind Enemy Lines (R) Feels too easy to rack up points for, which is a negative in my opinion. It doesn't warp gameplay too badly **unless** it also tracks enemies that are killed by your allies which could encourage Quinn players to make overly sacrificial plays to rack it up. **In my opinion: get rid of it for the above reasons.** * Damage dealt by Vulnerable attacks to enemy champions Also feels too easy to rack up points for. However it **very successfully** doesn't warp gameplay because getting vulnerable damage off against champions is absolutely core to Quinn's gameplay. As an added bonus being able to track your passive damage during a single game when this eternal is maxed out would be nice to see. **In my opinion: keep this one** * Distance traveled in Vault (E) This is a very weird one that doesn't sit well with me. In terms of gameplay, getting a max range vault to harass or chase somebody is good... But you also want to save your vault for when a dangerous champion jumps into your face to escape. For that reason I would say **this eternal is gameplay warping**. It will get Quinn players killed because they wasted their vault stacking this only for an enemy to turn around and jump on/kill them. **In my opinion: absolutely get rid of this one** **My eternal ideas** * Distance traveled while under the effects of R and W passive Although it will be too easy to rack up points for this one, it would be nice to be able to see this number on a game by game basis when it's maxed out. It also encourages roaming with R and kitting with W passive which are both good for Quinn's gameplay (in most scenarios) * Number of times hitting a single champion with 3+ procs of Harrier in under 4 seconds This is an eternal that Quinn mains can brag about to other Quinn mains when they rack it up super high. Getting 3 harrier procs off rapidly against a single opponent is core to Quinn's higher level skill expression when harassing or assassinating an enemy. The big negative here will be that it can be hard for less experienced Quinn players to get points in, but I like the idea of a Quinn eternal that can be a meaningful challenge. * Enemy champions killed within 3-5 seconds of being blinded by Q Against other ranged champions, landing your Q is vital to winning a fight in the mid and late game. The difficulty for this will be medium, but it won't warp gameplay since landing a Q is required for a Quinn to succeed. * "Eyes in the sky" tracks unseen enemy champions revealed by Harrier and W This eternal would reward skilled macro play from Quinn. Having the map awareness and macro sense to think "that enemy mid laner has been missing for a while, better press W" doesn't sound hard in theory; but in execution it could mean the difference between a dead Quinn and an alive Quinn. Also rewards face checking bushes with Q to make sure there isn't somebody scary in there waiting to kill you. Mediumish difficulty since you can't rack it up without good macro sense.

Her E was shit, but lasted forever (until the vessel killed 3 tentacles) and they changed it. Most every other patch involving her was either a buff, or an adjust to make her a better Juggernaut without having to resort to a full ad build.
: YES, THIS EXACTLY! Mordekaiser has counterplay options, isn't invincible, and can lose very easily. However, because he's easy to play + people have yet to understand how to play against him he's dominating. Some people could say that the whole "people don't know how to play against him" claim is bull, but I can provide proof for that. In your Illaoi example, back on release people litterally would stay near her and try to fight her when she ulted. Think about how stupid that is now, but then people just didn't know. Back on Morde, I've personally seen people try to flash out of the death realm, and walk past the edge and just sit there cause they couldn't.
To add on to this, I played as Quinn against him (the bane of melee top laners) and while that game ended in a remake because our mid was afk, I was absolutely shocked by how squishy he was without the shield. I think his durability is probably correctly tuned, but it will be hard to tell how well his damage is tuned if people let him land 100% of his isolated Q's

: Yuumi's Q feels like it should be a small AOE.
I both agree and disagree. I feel like, even though it's a tiny amount of damage, making into an AOE damage spell would be to much for a champ that can sit in untargetability and harass from near 100% safety. Now what I think SHOULD be AOE though, is the slow. Keep the single target damage but make it a tiny AOE slow. Could still be oppressive with Yuumi's safety, but I think it's a good angle to approach from.

: We'll have some Diana changes on PBE soon, potentially next week . Not expecting we'll ship those in 9.10 or 9.11, but instead that we'll see how they test, what discussion is like etc. Based off that we'll then figure out what adjustments to make and whether to get some form of them into an upcoming patch in the moderate future or not. Context post with full changes and rationale to come the day they hit PBE.
Rioter Comments
: vandiril has yet to tell us why he unlisted this video showcasing that the pbe is a waste of resourc
The problem with bug reporting is that sometimes it can be difficult to trace down the route cause of a bug and fix it, and if the bug isn't too gamebreakingly bad they'll let it through to a live release. The thing is, if a bug report doesn't have 100% reliable means of replicating a bug it can make it way more difficult to trace down that bug and squash it. When Rakan was on PBE, there was a literal gamebreaking bug where if two Rakans ulted and ran into each other the game would immediately crash. They responded to that bug and fixed it very quickly because the repro steps were easily identifiable making the bug easier to track down and fix.
: Muramana definitely could benefit from some "broadening" changes that allow more than just Ezreal to use it. It's a cool stacking item that I could see myself enjoying on a number of champs.
I'd say rework it to be a tear plus serrated Dirk item. That way champs that SHOULD want it can effectively build into it

: With a damage-focused keystone, you have to ask: Why not Comet or Electrocute instead? Comet only requires you to land one spell to get the full effect, and Electrocute works for instant trades (a 3-second delay on your keystone damage might not always land). The damage would either need to be significantly higher than the other options to warrant the use of it, or it would need to happen more often. Personally, I'd rather see it have some other kind of benefit than damage. Maybe charge up a shield as you land spells, and when the shield expires, any HP left in the shield is dealt as damage. This not only makes it more interactive, as enemies can damage you to lower your damage potential, but it also gives you some survivability when you all-in.
That sounds interesting, could be a little too hard of a "win more" keystone though. Since an enemy that can't break through the shield as quickly as you can proc it will just get devastated by the extra damage without any room to really fight back. Kinda like trying to fight a fed Urgot with his massive shield. As far as choosing this vs comet or electrocute. This rune is different from comet in that you have to commit to melee range for it instead of poking down with it, and different from electrocute in that it lacks the guranteed hit in favor of teamfight utility. I do like the idea of a keystone with a charging shield though! Personally I've always wanted them to bring back courage of the colossus.
Antenora (EUW)
: SuperNova - Effect: Each Ability or Basic attack against an enemy champion grants a charge of Supernova for 4 seconds. Upon reaching 5 stacks, your next ability or basic attack against an enemy champion will emit a supernova from the target dealing 15 - 80 (based on level) (+15% AP) (+25% Bonus AD) adaptive damage to the target. Additional Targets hit take 80% normal damage.   How about this?
To easy to proc and has virtually no counterplay
Doge2020 (NA)
: Hmm maybe link the proc to an auto attack or another spell? Because it would be kinda broken for a mage to dump their entire spell rotation on a target, the target attacks thinking it can kill the mage/diver before their spells come back up again only to be decimated by an explosion 3 seconds later. I guess having it deal damage in the area around the diver/mage might be good enough but it would be kinda interesting to have it proc on an auto attack instead.
Naturally there would be some kind of visual effect to signify that the caster that dumped the spells on the other champion is about to erupt in a supernova, letting the person know they need to get the heck out of dodge right then and there. All keystones have some kind of signifying vfx, this one would have to as well!

: Yasuo has a lot of tools but actually doesn't suffer from this problem as a whole. His winrate actually goes down in higher ELO play as opponents learn to exploit him. The core combo of being a squishy melee without strong burst leaves a lot of opportunity for opponents to stop him.
Scruffy I appreciate you taking the time to come out and speak with the community, but Yasuo very clearly violates the design principles you've outlined above. * Powerful reactive defenses: Windwall is a crazy powerful ability, his passive shield is as well. * Very short windows of downtime: his E and Q are insanely short cds at all stages of the game, even with the per target CD of E. His ultimate also has a pretty low cd * Many abilities with low or no cast times: E is very fast, Q is sudden but telegraphed, R is a sudden blink that locks you into a cc. **Notably: EQ combo makes it nigh impossible to dodge his knock up when he gets close to you** * Very strong waveclear or wave control: Q, EQ, E * Fallbacks cover weaknesses too well - for example a “weak laning phase” champion that has tools to farm perfectly from afar: Windwall and passive shield cover him from harass so he can safely farm. If you're dodging his third Q consistently, he can EQ you to make it nigh impossible to dodge. * Mobility tools that don't have cast or target restrictions: the first rule so far Yasuo doesn't completely break, he can dash through six minions and you, but he can't do it twice in one wave. Less powerful after laning phase * Wall crossing abilities: situational it happens, it really shouldn't * Very high dash speeds: clicking a point and click ability on a Yasuo using E is difficult because of how fast he moves, a skillshot is damn near impossible without reading him and whichever minion he'll dash through next. R is a blink if that counts. * Range advantages: the next rule Yasuo doesn't completely violate. His third Q is long range, but the rest of his kit is thankfully pretty low range. * No early game counter matchups: Yasuo is weak before Windwall, but after that he can play it safe in unfavorable match ups * Flex pick ability to avoid counters (matters particularly in pro play): debatable, I've seen Yasuo top but I don't see him succeed there often He's been a frustration point for a long time now for a lot of players, which his ban rate probably reflects. The fact of the matter is, this list overlooks two more strengths that Yasuo has. * High Target Agnostic damage: after Yasuo ults somebody, he gets armor penetration against them when he crits, if he's far enough ahead he can be almost impossible to itemize against. * His ultimate will keep him out of threat range of turrets: this is unforgivably ridiculous, I don't know what more I can say about it **HIGH NOON EDIT:** Also, on top of all that, his passive shield is instantly refreshed when he ults somebody, giving him survivability and counteracting his squishy weakness. Not only is Yasuo overloaded with many strengths, he's the goddamn poster child for overloaded kits.
: As an MR7 Azir player who is **very** passionate about this subject, I have to say this much; I hope you guys look at the proverbial writing on the wall and remove the Shuriman Shuffle. The combination really does just give him too much, and even when you guys compromised his core design philosophies (long-range DPS mage who fights via his soldiers)- which by the way is something that really irked me because that's something Riot as a whole normally **doesn't do**- he was still overpowering because he has what's essentially a vector skillshot dash into a potentially 5-man knockup. Shave away as much as you want unless Azir is crippled completely (like right now), that is going to be an overwhelming advantage. Much like you guys did with Akali's shroud- by the way nice going, I like you guys keeping the obscure mechanic while removing the problematic tower diving- you **need** to remove what makes Azir so problematic so you can refocus on his **intended** strengths. I for one, miss the long-range Azir who sacrificed his burst to scale like a Marksman with just as much DPS. It would be nice to have the emperor I know back.
Personally I'd like to see them rework his E substantially, it's overbearing on his kit and thematically terrible. **An emperor shouldn't do, an emperor should command.** Instead of dashing to his soldier, his soldier should be the one dashing to him. The soldier should stop upon hitting an enemy champion and knock them up, granting Azir a shield if it does. or if it gets back to Azir unhindered, Azir now has some damage up close and personal.

: "Neeko is everything Leblanc was supposed to be" ... Other than the concept of deception, I don't see how. In the old lore she could pretend to be anyone, but not in game. Leblanc has her own niche as a deceptive champion. Riot could definitely improve upon that, but shapeshifting is out of the picture. I'm sure Riot tried the shapeshifting mechanic on LB during her rework but decided it was a mismatch... I remember them stating they tried 'something' on LB but ultimately thought the mechanic would be more fitting on a new character.
Also Neeko's W is basically Leblanc's passive but with a move speed boost

Regarding essence reaver changes, would it be possible to change the recipe and item to have attack speed all the time? The bonus attack speed would help the item synergize with itself all the time instead of waiting for your ult. Something like swapping out caulfield's Warhammer for stinger in the recipe. Lowering Essence Reaver AD by maybe 10, and giving it something like 45% attack speed, but keeping Essence Flare passive as is. what do you think about that idea?

Have you guys tried bringing back offensive E uses? I don't think it's healthy to bring the full on shield bomb back, but adding the ability to target (and damage) enemies with her E, along with a big AOE on mantra E with an enemy click could bring back some more variance in Karma's kit

: We definitely care about Diana. We have actually tried doing a mini-rework on her internally twice, but both got scrapped because we couldn't find something that we thought would be good enough. We wan't to do something with her, but we want to make sure it's good. We could also wait a little longer and get through some higher priority VGUs and then do a Diana/Leona VGU like we are doing with K&M, where we do bigger kit stuff to Diana and a smaller mostly VU to Leona. That could be pretty cool as well. Time will tell.
