I used to main Soraka, but she just not that good any more. With meta being 2 hits u dead, she cant get much heals off unless your team is fairly tanky. She can not stop an enemy from engaging your ADC like most Supports can, unless they stop and stand in her silence for the lulz. And yes GW will make her useless, lower elo people will not buy any GW making her good but higher elo not as much. In the end I just had to stop playing her as my main.

Why do we need to be giving gold away, this all started with the introducing of first tower blood, the start of the great snowball meta... and now they have not learned 1 thing from it... remove first turret blood or keep it reduced like it is now, and do away with gold from turret plating.

Played my first game with new patch, enemy team won in 16min.... game snowballs harder and feels impossible to comeback from. I would like to suggest not giving xp for kills, as the person who is dead all ready loses out on a lot of xp by being dead... what makes games snowball is not just the gold, but the level difference.

Ive seen a duo both buy Relic Shield and 1 was jungler the other a melee mid laner and they both jungled then came to mid then back to jungle then to mid or gank another lane, they did really good and won us the game so weird haha whole new ball game man find ways to use Relic Shield and gold items for gold value and be creative finding a new way to abuse stuff.

Short games are fine when the losing team feels they have a chance at winning and the winning team feels they have a chance at losing. But right now it does not seem to be the case, when you winning you can fall asleep face roll, when you losing you can defend till you blue in the face and make no difference.

Also keep in mind you have to choose a rune category that does not give you much benefit for dmg either. you get what 20% more heal length from potions, how OP? So its not like you not sacrificing something for it. Unlike barrier you can at least keep moving to get away vs standing still getting ready to die once it wears off.

I don't care how long games are, what I care about is that each side has a chance at winning and not just 1 sided snowball games. Game will then become more exciting for the winner and losing team. And get rid of first blood tower all ready lets try to reduce the snowball effect as much as we can. Or reduce the gold gained by half at least.

The designer who's been working on the project has been doing a load of tuning to the sightstone quest reward so that it "turns on" roughly around the same time supports are buying sightstone on live. What this means is you'll have vision around the same time as usual, but will also have that 800 gold that you can put towards a more exciting purchase. The majority of the negative pushback (which is warranted) seems to be revolving around the idea that we're doing away with the item actives which people find exciting. While it's true that we're going to be taking it off of the gold gen items, we're going to be looking for ways to re-introduce them back to the game as soon as possible, just as new items. Who doesn't love spooky ghosts? In regards to the poaching concern - that's something we're super aware of and will be looking to actively tune if we're off. There's a change going out for relic shield to the PBE today (was supposed to go yesterday) where we're cutting the healing for ranged users in half (this does hurt Thresh so we're going to look to buff him in another way as a fast followup should he need it). We'll see if that pushes relic far enough from desirable in every game territory for marksman, but if it doesn't, we have other things we can try.

Thats kind of a problem though, you say we save 800 gold, but we lose effects from the gold items that have high gold value based on how useful they are, so you want us to spend 800+ more for another item that would do the same thing so its not like you saving supports more gold as we now have to buy a whole new item to get the same effect as the old gold item. As a support main I am not opposed to the changes as I would like to try them for my self, but to say we saving gold does not feel like it at all if we gonna have to buy a whole new item to get the same effect anyways. But I do feel we have more choice with are gold item not being locked into a specific item effect which is positive. So I kinda like the change either way.

As a support main I feel ok about these changes, only issue with them is supports that have little mobility will be hurt, Soraka being one of them. Some supports relied a lot on mobility with 2 items mobility taken away gonna be hard to live as a Soraka.

: I think that in order for support items to be strong enough to match solo laner gold
simple solution when you upgrade your gold item sightstone price is reduced by 50% saving you 400 gold, so you pay 500 gold to upgrade the gold item but save 400 gold for sightstone pretty good deal. Would also make more supports to get sight stone as well. Another solution would be the gold item can only be active when allie near by.

URF you get more gold faster allowing you to build up to counter the team that is winning, I said this many times effecting how gold scales will allow for comebacks. Increase passive gold lower the gold amount of first tower kill and see how that plays out. Basic math really. Lets do an exteme example. Say there was no passive gold gain. Enemy team has 15 kills your team 5. And say every one has 2k gold from CS.(except support) You end up with 9,500 vs 12,500 team gold That means enemy team has 32% more gold. Now lets say every one had 2,000 extra passive gold. You end up with 19,500 vs 22,500 team gold Now the difference in gold per team is only 16% vs the old 32%. NOW the game is less snowbally and you have a chance to come back. simple math.

Reason why you will never see Soraka much in competitive league is that 1 item pretty much counters her whole kit, and she has no real good CC that can stop adc from attacking either. Soraka still needs some love.

Now that games are shorter passive gold gain should be doubled. One of the things that made game like URF fun for me was that you are able to get items at a quicker rate. This extra gold will give the team that is losing some items to work with to defend. And the gold % difference will not be as high either for the team that is snowballing.
