: Hey Gankr what is your opinion on the revert? Too much, enough or not enough yet? It's been some time since I've seen you on some Zac related stuff. Some people say that they would like the E tap and W damage changes reverted what is your opinion to that?

Some people say that they would like the E tap and W damage changes reverted what is your opinion to that? Sorry didn't notice this message before, but I don't think they can afford to do those buffs without making him broken. They can't give Zac players what they want and keep the new Q. Even without these buffs I wouldn't be surprised if he is too good when the "revert" goes through. Q is kinda unbalanceable, so they have to destroy everything else he is good at.

The {{champion:154}} ult revert is not actually a revert, but no Rioter has responded to the issues Zac players have with it. Most of us favor a revert, but the ult currently on PBE is different than his original one. The knockback on his PBE ult is next to nothing, while his old knockback used to be significant. Utilizing the knockback was what separated the good Zacs from the bad ones. Back when he was reworked, the reasoning behind changing it was because it was a "chaotic Wukong ultimate". What is currently on the PBE is basically the same thing as Wukong ult, while his old ult was very different. The original ult was all about positioning it correctly and timing bounces to knock the right people in the correct directions. For some reason, those reverting Zac have decided to take that away from him. Also, his PBE ultimate uses the same blob spawning rules as his Scoop one. It is supposed to be one blob for each bounces on a champion, but now it is blobs equal to the amount of champions hit with the first bounce. The blobs also are supposed to spawn in between him and the champion hit when ulting, which doesn't happen. The worst part is we don't even know if it is on purpose or a bug that hasn't been fixed because we have had zero feedback. Also, he is never going to be balanced or fun to play with his current Q because it is such a powerful ability that the rest of his kit had to be nerfed. It's a cool ability, but it doesn't fit Zac's playstyle at all. His reworked Q and ult both destroyed what Zac was as a champ. He was all about moving around the teamfight, picking up blobs and throwing out low cooldown abilities. Now he doesn't have the freedom to move around because his Q is so clunky. It would be like giving Singed new Zac Q. Would it be a good ability and a buff to the champion? Of course. Would it destroy what the champion is all about? Absolutely. The ability does not belong on Zac and older Zac players will not be satisfied with it being a part of his kit.

The reworked ult is more interesting and it worries me with all the reverts lately. If the ult isn't good enough, don't revert it to something worse instead (there is usually a reason stuff gets reworked). Either keep it or make it better instead of just reverting it. It feels kinda lazy or populistic but maybe im wrong here? The same happened with for example rengar and le blanc. I guess rengar wasn't that big of a deal and I guess there was a lot of pressure from lb mains to revert her too(even though I liked the new more), but still feels bad when Riot reworks stuff for good reasons and then somehow reverts it. its not like people even played zac before ... he was barely played before rework now theres a load of zac mains everywhere? the new ult is honestly better ... if they reverted it to the old ult but kept the hold R to pancake then im for it

According to league of graphs, Zac's playrate and winrate are much lower than they were pre rework.

Hey, I posted this comment a few weeks back asking about Zac specifically with 30+ votes and no response. Now that this is about tanks I was wondering if you could go more in depth on Zac and the possibility of a revert or partial revert. Sorry about the wall of text, I have a lot to say on this issue and would really appreciate a response. Gankr here, former Master tier Zac top/jungle main before the rework. Myself, along with many other former Zac mains have been extremely disappointed with the rework and the lack of communication about it. Back when the rework was taking place, we had Riot Shrieve talking to us on the subreddit ( https://www.reddit.com/r/thesecretweapon ) about the changes, but since then we have had nothing. Zac used to have much more versatility as a top laner as well as a jungler with different build paths depending on your play-style. His Ult: One of the biggest complaints in the Zac mains community is that his new ultimate feels terrible to use, especially compared to the old one. It does no damage and is completely one dimensional. It either picks people up or it doesn't. The old ult actually required skill the maneuver yourself around in a teamfight to knock people in the direction that benefited the team. When his rework was announced, his ult was called a "chaotic wukong ultimate" which makes 0 sense to me. It is only chaotic if you use it like a Wukong ultimate. It is like saying Oriana R is a chaotic Diana E. If you use the Oriana R like an idiot, then that may be true, but if you actually know what you are doing it is more skilled version of a Diana E. It is the same thing with Old Zac R and Wukong R. His E also had it's knock up duration changed to scale with charge time because of this, which is a pretty large nerf, which I will get into later. Not only is this ult less reliable, and less satisfying, but the ability Zac was known for got nerfed to make room for it. Top Lane: Top lane Zac was a decently popular pick, even though it wasn't the strongest. It had a lot of counter play, but also had a lot of outplay potential. In this lane, you used to max Q in order to poke through minions and clear waves. The low cooldown and the surprisingly high damage made it core to this champion. Without this ability, it basically single-handedly destroyed Zac top. Another thing that killed Zac top is the E changes. His E used to be a 1 second knockup at all times which allowed for usage point blank. Without that his ability to duel or escape is much worse. The final problem with Toplane Zac is that his ult is pretty much useless in this lane. It does about 1/4 as much damage as his old ult, assuming your opponent is bad enough to get picked up in it, and it also doesn't give you a movespeed boost to be used as an escape from a gank or bad trade. His Damage: One final issue I'd like to bring up is that his base damage on every single ability got destroyed. This further weakens his ability to fight other champs, which is especially terrible in a meta revolving around duelist junglers. Zac cannot be expected to exist in a meta where he needs to either fight off champions, or clear well, because right now he doesn't do either better than meta junglers. If you want an even more in-depth version of this, here is a post I made a year ago that goes into each ability: https://www.reddit.com/r/leagueoflegends/comments/6f27eh/im_gankr_15m_mastery_points_zac_main_master_tier/?st=jj7jd9ey&sh=ad3eb579

: Mid Season Tanks Update - Zac
I'm really worried that they plan on making changes to his ultimate. I've played zac for years climbing to masters/challenger with him. I'm glad they seem to not be touching his passive, but my stomach dropped as soon as I saw this. His q is also the only thing that allows him to lane, which riot doesn't like so I fear that will be hurt. I actually really expected them to keep Zac the same. One of my favorite things to do on Zac is making outplays by picking up blobs in a fight. If they try to make his q and w more "impactful" I'm worried that this mechanic of Zac will be heavily weakened. If you don't know what I mean it is pretty much all of the clips in my video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q0gwD6R4r4k I'm really worried but maybe Riot knows what they are doing. Edit: All these people saying Zac is not different from other tanks is completely wrong. He has an interesting sustain mechanic, an engage that can be cancelled fairly easily, and just a kit that flows well. I'm obviously biased, but Zac is what more tanks should be like. You can't say Zac is binary when champs like Malphite or Nautilus exist. He may not be perfect for the meta, but he has his moments to shine. Not every champ needs to be busted with an overloaded kit.
