Just wish I had taken a second point in thievery with sebille and I can't get good gear for everyone for shit :/ The voidwoken dragon thing you speak of is one of the hardest fights in act 1. This is where doing a playthrough in classic first comes in. You will learn where each encounter is at and what the strengths and weaknesses of those enemies are. I would advise you to avoid that fight until even after you beat Alexander. That and Slane are probably the two hardest encounters in act 1 for most parties. There are battles that you simply will not be able to do at your current level so avoid them until you get more powerful. In my current playthrough, I have to skip a fight with some scarecrows because they all have really high magic armor and I only do magic damage. I will just skip this at my current level of 11 until I'm level 15 at the end of act 2. Here is some general advice for setups. However, I have only ever played 2 man lone wolf parties so I'm not sure if it all applies to a 4 man party. Focus your party around one damage type. This will sometimes screw you like my example of the scarecrow fight, but you can always just skip and come back later. Doing 2 types of damage is just wasting action points hitting more armor than you have to. This brings me to my next point. Focus heavily on crowd control. You need to get rid of armor before you can do so though. Every character should have multiple forms of crowd control. This means for a magic damage party you will be wanting to stun, freeze, or petrify as many enemies as you can on each turn and a physical damage party you will want to knock down as many as you can. I like to give both my characters nether swap (aerothurge 2 skill that changes positions of any 2 targets), teleport, and at least 2 mobility skills. Later on around act 3, I give them all 4 mobility skills (cloak and dagger, tactical retreat, wings/flight, phoenix dive). Position is very important. Putting yourself out of dangers like fire and electrified water while placing your enemies in them gives you a huge advantage. I also like to start almost every fight by spending my first turn just teleporting/swapping every enemy into a big cluster that I can then spend my next turn hurling every AoE ability at them possible. Like I said above though, this probably won't work in a 4 man party where you can't afford to have 2 points in every combat skill and around 30 memory. Always carry defensive scrolls on every party member. You don't always know who will get focused down in fights so you need everyone with the ability to break negative status effects on your other party members. When someone is stunned, they can't break the stun themselves so one of your other party members has to do it for them through the use of Armor of Frost. The scrolls that everyone should always have on them are Armor of Frost, Fortify, and Peace of Mind. Since you are going right into tactician without prior knowledge of where encounters are, I would advise quicksaving about every 5 minutes. This will allow you to load and make use of pre-combat buffs. This would be things like activating peace of mind and summoning your incarnate on a summoner just before you enter a fight so you don't waste action points doing it on your turn. Constitution is almost entirely useless. Only the amount you need to equip shields. Focus on keeping armor up for defense because once you lose armor, the fight is basically over whether you are dead or not. Losing armor is a death sentence in most cases because you will just get cc locked until death, no matter how much health you have. The only build I have ever used that actually needed constitution was a full retribution build. I had 26 points in retribution so I reflected 130% of the damage I took. This means that I basically could not lose a fight as long as my total health + armor was at least 77% of the enemy total. This also doesn't factor in that I was using every armor and health restoration skill in the game. Wits is only needed on one character per party. Initiative only affects who goes first from each side. Typically you will want initiative on the highest damage member or a summoner. Initiative decides which side goes first (the highest total) and then the order of party members. Combat will always be Ally, enemy, ally, enemy, ally..... regardless of initiative after the first person's turn.

I will toghten up my inefficiencies mostly with my wits/constitution usage, though I have found with 4 members gear is more sparce to get everyone super kitted so some HP actually comes in really clutch because it gives you that little extra in the event enemies choose to focus down a squishy.

Just wish I had taken a second point in thievery with sebille and I can't get good gear for everyone for shit :/ I usually do the void dragon 2nd last or 3rd last on the Island. If you let your party stand far enough away (the high ground nearest the pigs) the voidwoken wont tp to you immediately, giving you 3-4 turns worth. After you've activated the fight you can run away. Coming from the castle, it's possible to teleport the archer over to you, starting the fight again and allowing you to pick off the enemies as they come staggered, the voidwoken is also clueless for a good amount of time. Might become hard later on without a tanky character though, since you have 2 squishy melee's and not many defensive buffs, unless Lohse has hydro, but she's pyro if I remember correctly and Ifan scales off Finesse so his geomancy won't be that great. But that might just be my bias, since I almost always run a shield character in these games.

But that might just be my bias, since I almost always run a shield character in these games. So my main is a shield user. I havent used beast, I assumed he was a tank. My avatar is all about that warfare tank life. Also turns out I found the braccus rex vault. It was super fun to get though, had to stop playing for now, I just killed the real trompdoy (or w/e his name was) ifan is purely speccing to be an archer/huntsman, Lohse is a summoner/aerothurge/hydrosophist kinda weird hybrid right now and sebille is all scoundrel/dualwield with one point in pyro for searing daggers. It combos well with the earth move both my character and ifan have. So I think I just made a wrong turn early, i walked into the void dragon encounter at lvl 4. To be fair, I saw someone play the game up until they escaped the fort. All in all it is very challenging, but I just reload and try again if the fight gets the better of me.

: Fextralife has some nice tips for the early game. They also have a build guides which should give you an idea of how to spec your heroes. https://divinityoriginalsin2.wiki.fextralife.com/Divinity+Original+Sin+2+Wiki I assume you're playing with a full party? Since it is possible to do it solo, think about how you would go about winning fights solo and then apply those tactics to your full team. Terrain is one of the most important things in combat, manipulating it with effects (or boxes) and using the teleport skill you get early will be crucial. I'd do everything in the early area before you gain access to the fort. After the fort there's a few easier routes, helping Gareth at the castle by sneaking around other mobs or going to the seeker camp by sticking close to shore will give you some easier fights to bring up your xp. Remember you can flee fights, which means you can pick of an enemy, flee and come back for another. Dome of protection is also OP early, if you have a non-origin character.

: Why not both? Or rather, either? Must we prefer one over the other? Unless you are very stubborn for your ideals of purity, you would probably prefer if the show you were watching was also understandable to you in your native language. The biggest problems are usually with the quality of dubs over subs, as, some things get lost in translation and that's not ok. But if you're watching a well-written dub, with accurately portrayed voice actors, the experience is just so much more immersive than if you have to take away some attention from the anime to read what's going on. I think there are some excellent dub voice actors as well as some very thoroughly translated scripts in anime, that have made for some great quality dubs, and I prefer them to the subs, because I can understand and remember what has been spoken. Sure, I can remember a subtitle, but it doesn't have the same impact reading a translation as actually understanding what's been said, at least not for me. I tend to watch whichever has the better quality to it, with a preference for the dub if it exists AND is not poor quality. Some anime in fact, are worth watching BOTH ways, as so many changes are made during dubbing, that the dub becomes iconic in its own way, completely separate to everything that it actually is in its original (looking at you original Yu Gi Oh, and GX, for example). But normally that's just if it's at some meme-worthy level, if there's ever truly that much of a difference, the sub is only superior because the original intentions did not come across in the dub. But in cases where the writing is faithful, and the voices are pleasant (honestly, most English voices sound better to me than typical Japanese voice actors), then in that case the dub is superior. But at the end of the day, most anime are sub only anyway, so if a dub does exist, I at the very least give it a chance, and I will usually wind up having gone through both the sub AND the dub before ultimately deciding which one I prefer.

Must we prefer one over the other? Unless you are very stubborn for your ideals of purity, you would probably prefer if the show you were watching was also understandable to you in your native language. I watch dubbed if it is available because it is easy and I am lazy. The point of this thread is "if given the choice, which do you prefer?" It isn't some end all beat all you have to be 100% or the other.
: Anime: sub or dub?
The subbed version of Arman in attack on titan sounds like 100% a girl. The dub his voice is a nerdy guy. It bothers me a lot. Still prefer dub 100% of the time. No matter what. Fite me

They are not AIs in the strict sense, they can not develop anything past what is coded in them, they are voice controlled search functions basically. Sure they do other things, but they are by no means an actual AI. I'm talking about ones that learn and respond, like the elon musk AIs who destroyed those dota2 pros (I am pretty surethat was the story). Once alexa and siri can play a game with you, then I would consider them some sort of AI

I guzzle unsweetened tea with gusto, then I belch loudly and drink more. I've never drank it in a tea cup, only a giant big gup cup. Am I still safe Dr?

There are a few out there, but some are ridiculously hard Cataclysm DDA min maxed content over graphics. It looks simple. It is not. It is a post apocalyptic rogue like survival that is pixel art, but has so many commands and features, it is ridiculously in depth. Fun game though. It does have a pretty steep learning curve
: Is Lissandra considered strong right now?
I love her, but her kit feels clunky and frustrating. With a really short w range and an e that feels awful to use and can be denied so easily. If you are winning with her you deserve it. I wish I could hit gud, but I stopped playing xd

I, like many, do not feel the educational system demands enough to truly develop any meaningful skills past what I have already developed.
