This is the good thing about having a wide champion pool. I'd actually encourage people to try to ban me out cuz it just limits what their own adc can play lul. Cuz unless you get less bans in clash, you literally have one for each otp.

Honestly I'm fine with almost everything in his kit EXCEPT for his nutty healing and gold generation. I would be delighted if riot just removed his cut mechanic entirely for like one patch just to see what happens. Also it would be nice if ignite could actually kill him. 100% agree his healing should be out of combat.

If your only argument is the effort and time it takes to implement it, you have no actual argument IN OUR CONTEXT. NOBODY IS TALKING ABOUT HOW ITS MADE OR WHAT IT WOULD COST TO IMPLEMENT! That's not the point of this thread. Whether or not riot can or will implement a better system is actually irrelevant to the conversation. Because every goddamn person here knows riot's not gonna do shit. The point is that there are better ways FOR THE PLAYERS to select roles. What we have now is not ideal FOR THE PLAYERS. You can call me a liar if you want (I don't care), but I would love to fill more often if I had the option to leave out mid lane. This is because I feel comfortable playing every other role that's not mid lane. But i can't fill or else i run the risk of getting put in mid and drastically lowering my chances of winning. You have no argument against the proposed role system in this thread, so all you have to go on is a PURE GUESS that riot can't or wouldn't want to implement a new system. If riot's time and resources are such an issue for you, do you also think that this bug ridden client shouldn't be worked on? Should nongameplay bugs be just left in the game? Why did they upgrade the client in the first place? Why do they remake champions, visually or gameplay-wise? Why do they do literally anything that doesn't directly give them more money? It would literally be the exact same system we have now, except....MORE FUKIN OPTIONS! I BEG you to give me one good reason against a new role system that's not just RIOT'S MONEY/TIME or CUZ I DON'T WANT IT. Please.

"How the hell would the game play out" With strategy like the mod for Dota this game is based on? The Dota 2 mod Riot ripped off is a million times more balanced. A pool of 50 "chess pieces" to pick from at the start of each round. Creeps and enemies drop items. "how would you deal with everyone having the same items" How do you deal with it in summoner's rift? TFT needs to be balanced so certain classes beat other classes. Elementalists lose to shape shifters, shape shifters lose to sorcerers, sorcerers lose to knights and so on. Nobles go even with Imperials, Pirates go even with ninjas, phantoms with wilds, etc. (these are just rhetorical suggestions for the sake of example) They have FUCKING RANKED MATCHMAKING for TFT. Drill that through your head mate, RANKED... LADDER... MATCHMAKING for a completely random game. The only way to solve this is to actually create metas where one brand of champ beats another, if the enemy has a yordle heavy team, you have to build voids (again, just an example) If you see your enemy has a 3 star vayne with rageblade, you have to build an assassin with something else. That's why item drops should be standardized, or better yet. There should be a "shop" where each item costs some amount of gold. maybe 3 or 4? Bang. I've solved the problem and made ranked TFT make sense. You're welcome. In any other scenario where RNG determines the outcome, ranked is meaningless when luck is almost 100% of the factor in winning games.

: Vanye with one item is better than most champs with 2
Even saying vayne is better with 2 items than most champs are with 3 is debatable. 1 item vs 2? No way in hell. In that scenario she is worse than every adc, every assassin, every mage, every fighter, most bruisers and tanks, and even some supports (Depending on builds). She would have to heavily outplay them to win or they would have to miss all of their abilities. Likely multiple times too. I don't care if you want to circle jerk, but at least try to make it slightly believable.

Hell no vayne hard loses to every adc, every mage, every assassin, every fighter, every bruiser, most juggernauts, most tanks, and even some supports (depending on build). As someone who used to use team builder for nearly all his matches, it most certainly did **not** work fine. Queue times were astronomical, as basically no one wanted to play support (or wait out the time to find a support). Now take that same wait time, and try to stick it into all ranks and MMRs, and making it the *sole* way to play ranked, it just isn't feasible.

Now take that same wait time, and try to stick it into all ranks and MMRs, and making it the *sole* way to play ranked, it just isn't feasible. First, saying to take the same wait time and apply it to everything makes no sense whatsoever, as making team builder (or any ranked mode) the only way to play ranked would naturally lower wait times. Team builder existing at the same time as other ranked modes hampered any chance it had for success. Second, there are other way of fixing queue times in terms of people not wanting to play support or other undesired roles. Riot can give incentives to people willing to play them. Third, OP mentioned something that I have been saying forever, but he said it in a smaller scale way. **_Let us pick more roles._** Instead of having autofill, give players a chance to fill some of the roles. Literally just let us pick, in order of desire to play, 2-5 roles. That way people that are ok with playing 3-4 roles don't have to risk getting that fifth role(s) that they may have no clue how to play.

: When will Riot do something about Shaco ?
So you want to buff a champ that's already performing very well outside of competitive? Even when the champions winrate only goes up the higher the elo? Does shaco have to have a 55%+ winrate in all elos to be balanced? Should riot also buff all other champs that have similar/worse winrates and playrates as shaco or is it just shaco that really needs the help? Like udyr(at least in high elo)/yi/shv/ivern/....... Also to counter some of your points: the point of his boxes is for them to be traps. They dont need a lot of health if you are using them correctly. And there's no way they should be strong for team fighting. Zoe being cancer doesn't excuse shaco Counterbuilding =/= counterplay Winrate might not mean everything, but it means a lot. Even after all these nerfs he's still doing pretty damn good, which may say a lot as to why he was nerfed and has been compensated for indirect nerfs. And to end, I will say that his ult boxes probably do need buffed. In the rare occasions that I've played shaco recently, they have never felt useful. But his normal boxes are fine and do their job correctly if the player uses them correctly.

: Nasus is already pretty decent. There are multiple items that heal based on damage. Just get a lot of q stacks, build one of these items, and you'll heal. Oh, he can go tanky btw, try building a warmogs? Lifesteal generally only works based on your dps, which is a rearguard role thing- and they favor crit over that, because you can out damage someone trying to lifesteal. Lifesteal is literally antiquated right now. Its old news. Nasus is fine if you use your q, build right, and split push intelligently. He's perfectly fine. I carried REALLY HARD in an ARAM game, and that's in ARAM, where most people think he's the worst champ there. Some champs have become somewhat irrelevant, sure, but Nasus I don't think will ever truly be in that position. I mean he has a super buff, two slows, and a super damage move. If you run a Lulu on your team comp with a Nasus, just stack their ults. and you're basically unkillable. Add a GA on top of that and its just insane.
Nasus has been kinda sleeper op in aram for a long time tbh... If your team lets you stack that is. I think most people just don't realize he gets double stacks on aram.

There has always been a large anti-botlane circlejerk on the boards. Its funny because i'm fairly certain 99% of circlejerkers have never even played botlane before. : Haha, my ego? I blow at this game. I never cliamed to be good, or that losing isnt mostly my fault. You all inferred that because doing that makes it easier to trash me. You want to look at the match history of one of my 5 accounts and base you arguments on my record with a champion I have no idea what I am doing with thats fine. I never claimed to be good, and I have made this argument many times on other accounts with other champions at top. Nice try. Must be so nice to just level insults instead of a thoughtful response. Try again or leave.
I wasn't referring to your ingame ego. I literally couldn't care less how good you are at the game or anything like that. BUT, based on your post and EVERY SINGLE ONE of your responses, you have an INSANELY huge ego. I never looked up your match history or your op.gg and I never will, but if you want to think this is at all related to the game, then go ahead.
: The problem with Junglers
ITT OP projects his own massively inflated ego on other players/posters and throws a fit when people disagree with him.

: Skill ladders ALWAYS start you at the middle, otherwise they literally can't work. If you play chess you're not gonna start with 0 Elo, you start at the average (it was like 15 years since I last played, but I think it was around 1500 Elo?). If everyone starts at 0 Elo no one can gain nor lose any Elo since it's a zero-sum system. That means that if everyone started at the bottom literally no one would ever be able to climb a single rank, defeating the point of a ranked system. It's not a literal ladder, and calling it a ladder is a bit of a misnomer. No idea why it's called a ladder though, I guess it's cause you climb it?
I don't see how they "literally" can't work. How does having people start at 0 elo stop them from gaining elo? The ones that win gain elo and the ones that don't won't get anything or lose anything if they are at the bottom. It actually CAN'T be a zero-sum system in that situation, since the losing side doesn't actually lose anything. And once you've gained ANY elo the system becomes exactly what we have now. Or at least it will as time passes and people settle into their skill brackets. A real zero-sum system would be if everyone on the winning team gets +10 lp and everyone on the losing team gets -10 lp. This all just sounds like a case of "this is how it has always been done so this is the only way it can be done". And at this point it would be simple for riot to just move the starting line to the bottom of the ladder, especially since they already have a well developed ranked community. There's not really any excuse outside of them just not wanting to do it for whatever reason.
: Because a ladder, by definition, has to start players at the average skill level (which is mid silver) and they adjust up or down from there. Iron is, and no offense if you or someone you know is in that rank, *way below average skill*. That's literally what it means.
By what definition does a ranked ladder have to start you at average skill level? If anything, going by the term "ladder", it should have to start you at the very bottom since that is how ladders work...

Rageblade is a W proc every other hit, so once per second... 1000 true damage per W proc... assume maxed W... divide by 14%... that's a target with 7k health. > > 7k health isn't very common at all. Therefore, I'd say that your damage estimate is - while not impossible - an extreme outlier at best. Besides, it's probably healthier for the game if there's a champ that can give tanks a "ticking timer" that allows them to tank for several seconds but not indefinitely. 2.0 AS. What game are you playing? the Lethal Tempo build is like 3.0 as at 2 items+AS boots.
Nobody is playing lethal tempo vayne, so that doesn't even matter. But to be fair, at 2.5 attack speed the enemy champ needs around 4300 health, which is much more realistic, but not at 3 items. For vayne or the tank she's hitting.

: Stop ignoring trundle
tbh he just needs EITHER buffs OR a lower damage meta. If rito actually plans on lowering damage then i don't think trundle needs buffs. Or if they bring back a tank meta he'd do fine. Idk what they could really do to him in this meta without just buffing his damage tho. Maybe make his ult give him a flat mr/armor buff so its more useful vs non-tank champs.

: I have no clue how ADC mains play this role with any regularity.
I just happen to enjoy having 5 beefy dudes (or girls) up my ass for 30 minutes straight while my jungler records it while he's attempting to kill chickens for the 20th time (unsuccessfully), my mid forgets how to auto and spends all his mana trying to kill the tower with skillshots, and my top is happily farming and wondering where his opponent went (botlane). Jk I'm fill/aram main until one of my friends begs me to play ranked with him again.

: Sylas might be the biggest balance nightmare in the history of League
Tbh i don't think he should get the ratios of the ults he steals. If it was just base demage then I could understand the rest of his kit being good and the rapidfire ult stealing. Getting an ult with an ap ratio on it is almost instawin with him.

: > Uhhh,,, Annie, Vel'koz and Lux I'll give you. One of those however was specifically designed as a support, the other is only played support, despite being designed as a mid laner. Then you have no idea what support means. 1. if you think the best CC is Death = 0 2. if you think the a support is some one who has more Dmg than the adc = wrong 3. if you think only 'cause those morons stated that Puke is support = wrong, he has 0 abilities for supporting + bugged hit boxes. 4. if you think dmg = Support, again Wrong.
Champs that are primarily played in the support role are supports. Your arbitrary definition of what a support is isn't relevant to the discussion.
: I don't hate the game, I hate its playerbase.
The thing is, most nice players just don't type so you never notice them. You only notice the guys screaming bloody murder.
: Quick Advice To Junglers
That also applies to laners though. Don't expect me to gank just because you're being shoved in. I ain't gonna try and gank an illaoi when you got 5% hp and 20 enemy minions ready to smack my ass.
: I just said "majority" XD there have been few points where they were not mandatory
You also said "marksman has of course been the only "required" class ever since meta started for league". Which implies all of league's existence, not majority.
: really? vayne was one of the harshest experiences of the season when a player played her well. She could take out half of your team by herself... and marksman has of course been the only "required" class ever since meta started for league... I don't want marksmen or AD carries removed, but for the majority of league's existence, they've had it the best of any class...
Vayne was only strong because there weren't any champs botlane that could really punish her early game. She's just the kind of champ that thrives when the meta isn't super aggressive/early game. And at this point we have had several metas (including now) where adc hasn't been mandatory botlane. Its no longer true to just say they have always been required every single game.
: season one through six with crit or life-steal or both-based marksmen... they were the meta then and tankbusters or hyper-carries were the best of them season 7 came around and only proved how powerful they were because BURST MARKSMEN came out of hiding and one-shot their opponents, making them pick or ban status (miss fortune, draven, etc) but instead people cried that they were weak while champs that highlighted how much damage was in the game thrived (kha zix, rengar, or anything that could get to bottom lane) then, to try and help the "weaker" marksmen, riot introduced the Ardent Censor meta
Season one through six adcs weren't dominating the meta. It was always either top/jungle/mid that had really problematic champs/classes. Adcs just spent all those seasons rotating between the top 3 adcs in botlane and the rest of the game was barely affected by those rotations. For the rest of the players in the game, as long as the strongest adcs were being picked, it entirely didnt matter which adcs were actually being picked. They just played their role in the game, which i guess some people don't like? And why were burst adcs good iin season 7? Lethality. The new ASSASSIN stat/items turned out to be too strong on those champs. The items got nerfed and suddenly burst marksmen weren't insane anymore. Its almost as if the items were breaking the champs, not that the champs themselves were powerful or busted. Riot "introduced" the ardent meta because of the lethality meta. It was to directly counter the the types of champs that loved lethality, assassin, items. And guess what, adc's weren't the problem in the ardent meta. Its literally in the name. Ardent, and by extension, enchanter supports were too powerful and too good at their jobs. And their jobs were to keep the adc alive and increase the adc's strength. Adc became seen as "op" because an entirely separate class was actually op. For whatever reason, people just forget that supports exist and refuse to believe that supports can be too strong. I'll never understand it. Some people are just hell bent on removing adc from the game for whatever reason, even when adcs aren't even close to being balance issues. This anti-adc circlejerk is just preventing actual balance issues from being fixed.

The funny thing is that its almost never adcs themselves that are op. Jhin/lucian op during lethality meta? Oh wait thats cuz lethality was busted. Hypercarry adc's op during ardent meta? Oh wait thats cuz ardent/enchanter supports made adc's immortal. Now that i think about it, i don't think there has ever really been an "adc meta". Its always something else in the game that is overtuned that makes em stronger. But nah lets just blanket blame adcs and thier playerbase.
Moody P (NA)
: PepeHands not again
He can be a bit too oppressive when he gets fed or his early damage is strong, so i can see why people would want to avoid buffing him. When was op i was basically forced to play high self peel adc's since he would just run down any even slightly immobile adcs. BUT, as someone who used to play voli a lot, i think one buff he could get is to his passive. Imo he just dies too quickly early game to make use of his passive, so they could change his passive to give him part of it instantly. Other than that they might give him slight defense buffs, but please don't touch his damage.
: Why Ezreal Support isn't just a "Non-meta pick".
Ezreal support was actually doable with his old w and with the old ap support item. I suppose you could rush spooky ghosts, but its so much riskier/difficult since he has to land his q to do ANYTHING in lane. If you wanted to go ad i think you would have to just rush a gauntlet and skip tear item entirely. And even if it can work at all, it would be extremely niche at best. But his new w just kinda kills ez support. Back then i used to play ez support and get the most damage in the game. It was actually pretty oppressive in some matchups.
: What the hell? Wasn't jungle exp already nerfed? AND the items? I cant even jungle anymore because of both of those nerfs. Literally, I see jungles 3 levels behind when they gank, when they have just been farming, only to be an ez target. It's sad. Idk why they want to nerf jungle even more, it's so bad right now I refuse to jungle.
Unless you are talking about morde jungle, jungle is the strongest role right now.

No ADC cried about it being boring/dumb. They cried because they could die to Assassins roaming during laning phase. The one thing that's never changed about the game since i started playing towards the end of s5 is ADC mains will always say their role sucks. So listening to ADC mains about role balance is pointless.
So we agree on your first sentence i guess? Idk why you said no in there. And adc's only largely cried about assassins as a whole during the lethality meta. You know, when assassins were really strong and the only adc's that could compete were ones that also abused lethality (and ezreal, who built to counter assassins). There have been other times, but as far as i know its not often that we are in a true assassin meta. And yeah some adc's will always say adcs are bad....well shit adc's at least. But that applies to pretty much every role in the game. I've seen some mages complain even when like 9/10 best mid lane champs are mages. I've seen some assassins complain about talon being weak when he had like a 54% winrate. There's always this or that support that's complaining about enchanters being weak or poke being weak or whatever. And for top there is hashinshin (no need to explain). My point is that SOME people will falsely complain about their champs/roles being weak because they don't actually know how to play the role/champ. They are BAD PLAYERS, not the entire/majority player base of those roles/champs. And to be clear, I don't even fully agree with the op of the thread. Adc's are actually very relevant, but they are lacking in the individual agency department. Which might not be a bad thing.

ADC cried non-stop during Ardent meta. They were still meming ADC in 2017. The meta when literally only thing that matted was Janna pressing shield on the ADC while the ADC 2 v 8ed ever game and nobody else even got to play past 8 mins ADCs cried about their role.
Adc's cried becuase ardent meta was dumb, not because they thought they were weak or something lmao.
: I don't understand adc?
Adc is an extremely team reliant role. Which makes it really hard to carry with in solo queue. I'd suggest maining jungle. If you can get jungle down, it is by far the easiest role to climb with (and it is pretty much every season) + it is the role with the most synergy with pretty much every other role, so you can duo with anyone and still have great synergy. You can climb while maining adc, but it'll talk a lot more effort/grinding.
