Hey Meddler Since Aatrox is being included in new Pantheon's lore, would it finally be possible to give his animations a lookover to fix some of the bugs like was done for the Bloodmoon skin, and if that's not your department, who's the person to ask?

I assume he was a ram or something with aatrox probably being bat-ish judging by his horn shape and wings.
: Is aatrox good?
Aatrox is one of those champs with a relatively high pick rate but a low-ish (48%) winrate below masters. This means that a lot of the people who pick him don't necessarily know how to pilot the champ all that well. My advice if you want to learn him is to one trick him for a while to get a feel for his ability ranges and different matchups, that's how I learned to play him half decently.

The revive is 100% the issue in pro-play and as a result, something that locks him out from buffs in regular play Aatrox's revive eats time which is what makes it so strong. An Aatrox in a teamfight right now is basically a damage check: you either focus him down fast enough that he can't get an assist and therefore the reset and revive, or you can't kill him fast enough and now if your team does manage to kill him, they have to wait around while his 5 second Zhonya's plays not being able to do anything. Now his ult is being buffed in the tangible strengths it has in cooldown and sustain while his team utility is being cut in the form of the amount of time he can potentially waste the other team.

More healing and a shorter cooldown means his ult will be even more potent in the 90% of times that it functioned without the revive.

WIthout the revive, the enemy can simply go ham in him and kill him. There is no "drain tanking raid boss" when your only source of healing is your q. After he has used the 3rd q he has to wait around 3 seconds to do pretty much any sort of real damage. And because his healing is tied to his damage this means that he will die if he gets focused. Furthermore as a champ that lacks innate armour pen this means that fighting armoured targets is a bad idea since you heal less. Less heal less survivability. You have to hit soft targets in order to heal enough to survive a teamfight where you get somewhat focused at the least. After this change you will get 100% focused and good luck healing off of heavy armoured targets. The compensation buffs hardly matter. The cd reduction is pretty good. Boring but good. But the hp regen/level is just a joke really. These things cant replace the job the revive had. And frankly, as a melee caster champ he needs something to help him during teamfights. Under normal circumstances his ulti would do just fine but he is a caster. He relies on his q to do basically anything. The moment his q goes down he becomes relatively harmless. He doesnt have atk speed for that juicy 100% ratio aa. Now i know that you will basically say "well he redirects precious threat away from their carries" which would be nice, if that was his theme. But its not. And, IF they dont change anything and just flatout remove the revive, his ulti will basically become a worse yi ulti. Yi's ulti provides atk speed, movement speed (although less than aatrox's however it doesnt decay) immunity to slows and cripples, ghost AND AND the refresh applies throughout the whole duration unlike aatrox's that it refreshes only 5 second. As a final note, without the revive, why pick aatrox? If i want resets i can go darius and be even more successful. Plus his healing isnt tied to his damage. Then there is also illaoi that has even more lifesteal (also not tied to her damage) and even more raid boss feel. So why even pick him with all that in mind?

Except that Blitz's hook is integral to his function as a champion at *any* time in *every* game. As I said, 95% of the time Aatrox ults, you either win or you die. Removing a mechanic that only applies under very specific circumstances in the vast minority of situations isn't cutting anything from the champion.

Aatrox's identity is a drain-tanking raid boss which the buffs to his ult healing and cooldown-wise reinforce. If he loses a mechanic that's only useful in a very specific circumstance but gains improvements that will be useful in every game and every fight, I don't see how that's a bad thing.

Hey Meddler, since work was just done on him and presumably he's being watched post-patch, would it be possible if someone gave {{champion:266}} a look over for bug fixes on his original skins? Namely that the walk animation loop is broken but was fixed for Bloodmoon only. His vanilla skin is my favorite and it's a shame that the animation looks janky at times.

: Poor Rhaast
To be fair, Varus may have the body but he wasn't able to purge his hosts' wills and Aatrox has been doing this for a long time. I'm pretty sure that this is Rhaast's and Varus's first real hosts since they were imprisoned so it makes sense that they kind of suck at the whole body stealing thing compared to Aatrox.
: Mordekaiser's new bio - It sucks. It sucks hard. All of the epicness from before is just gone.
I'd like to see an Aatrox Morde matchup now since they're similar types of character but with fundamentally different goals. One seeks eternity, the other seeks an end to all things.

It looks like Mordekaiser isn't related to the Shadow Isles anymore and instead is currently hanging out in his Afterworld, building his own realm with souls he trapped so it wouldn't surprise me if he had more Noxian interactions than Shadow Iseles ones.

I like how Leblanc gloats about being able to defeat tyrants while pointing to Mordekaiser's armor when it's revealed in Mordekaiser's bio that he expected and planned for it. It's a nice little dynamic between the two characters.

: Weird note, but I love how they kept the "mace over the shoulder" stance. Idle poses are something that seems like it's first on the chopping block for a lot of VGUs, and for good reason. Glad they knew this was iconic and worth keeping (well, except maybe that last one, and for good reason if that's true).
