Laura Post also voiced a Yakuza-esque gang-leader cat lady in _A Hat in Time_, unless I'm mistaken. In fairness, it's a pretty trippy game.

: Why does Sylas have to be gay?
That reddit post was fake, by the way.
: Wait , Galio is only moved because of Lux ?? I don't think I know much but I hate it how he is a enemy of Lux ;-;
He is not an enemy of Lux. They actually bond in their short story.
: Its the fact that the government purposefully freed him though. It took years for them to even convince someone to come help them catch him, and then it took another 4 years for them to actually arrest him. Why free someone as dangerous as Jhin? Its even hinted at in his lore that he's not entirely fond of being used as a weapon and being forced to work in secret. Letting him out was a huge mistake on their part.
Oh, I would definitely agree on that. I'm practically waiting for him to expose them as his next "masterpiece"...
: This won't stop me from believing that Garen have magic too but tries to deny it.
And that's definitely not an unreasonable theory or headcanon. With the amount of magic that Sylas supposedly sees in Demacia, I'd consider it very plausible. However, it isn't confirmed.
: Jeez, He is one A**hole. He doesn't view Galio as a kind being with sentient thoughts and feelings, he views him as an object of what he hates. He's an emotional manipulator and arguably an abuser with Lux. Honestly? For someone who hates oppression he is a Jerk.
Personally, I think the accent is part of it.
: Giant light sword from the sky tho I doubt Demacians are aware of this fonction of Petricite. Even Sylas didn't know until he read Durand's Note. My point is, Garen doesn't know how to use Petricite like Sylas does. The only way he can cast his Demacian Justice is with his own magic.

: Jhin is a fucking serial killer that the Cabal essentially turned into a terrorist.
He didn't break out on his own, though, so I'd argue his prison doesn't count as useless. (It's possible that he was capable of breaking out, but chose not to because he's Jhin...)
: Actually, it is confirmed. Swain points it out when absorbing Garen's Soul.
Originally, we thought that was referring to him, or perhaps Lux or Galio. However, with Sylas's reveal, we learned that petricite actually absorbs magic, meaning that the "magic he carries into battle" could very well mean his armor and maybe his sword.

Yes, I prefer the intrigue and the mystery that Principles of Strength gives moreso than the history and magic of Twilight of the Gods. I especially like the way they characterize the Trifarix: capable, powerful, and mysterious. It's very interesting. I'm not a huge fan of Targon, nor am I fan of introducing random magic stuff out of nowhere (the moon thing). So Principles wins my vote for sure.

This is going to be absurdly close. I personally prefer the drawn out revelations of From the Ashes, but Boleham Tower is still my favorite champion color story in the lore. I went with From the Ashes, but I'm fine with either winning to take on Icathia. What a battle that will be...
: Yeah I love those small things like an obsession with certain food, they can really bring a character to life. Obviously, if you take it too far, you get things like **Four**.

: 2018 Lore Tournament - 16th December: The Principles of Strength vs At the Edge of the World
The Principles of Strength involves characters that we already know about, and how champions are viewed in the eyes of everyday people, so it wins my vote. Also, I really like the power dynamic between Darius, Swain, and the Faceless.

Yikes. I'm not sure how i'm gonna choose between The Black Powder Plot and The True and Ghastly Tale of the Beast of Boleham Tower. The former is fantastic because of its intrigue and seriousness and display of Swain's intelligence, and the latter is great because of the opposite.
: Can we give Vel'Koz some love?
Gentleman Vel'Koz, with a monocle and a hat, along with a tea beam for his ult.

Vastly outnumbered here, but I really liked the Curator's Gambit and I didn't really understand the Dreaming Pool all that much. Matter of preference more than anything else. Dreaming Pool is probably better from an objective standpoint, though.
: 2018 Lore Tournament - 10th December: The Cage vs. The Shadow Door
: Yes, unfortunately, Noxus is yet to have a story as perfect as that, but maybe one day...
I would think that the Principles of Strength is at least on par with Eye in the Abyss. Not so sure if there's one that can match Where Icathia Once Stood, though... (IMO of course)

: Do we even know if Fizz/yordles in general _have_ parents?
Yeah, from Lulu's bio. And if Fizz's homeland disappeared, it logically means that his parents were there too (unless they were wanderers like him or already dead). May or may not be canon now, but Lulu's bio hasn't been updated yet, so I'm just gonna assume they do have parents.

Azir's parents were assholes tho. They were tyrants that didn't give a shit about the people and hated Azir. Pretty sure Azir was glad they died. If they didn't die Shurima would be atm rulled by a tyrant that enslaves everything he comes across (wait... that's Xerath lol). Also pretty sure Ryze's parents are also dead from obvious reasons, and also his father-like figure aka his mentor.
Well, I didn't want to count Aatrox, Ryze, Nasus, Renekton, Xerath, or any other champion that's very old, because I don't really count that as part of the backstory. Also, Rengar's dad was an asshole too, which is why Rengar killed him. I'm still counting him.

While it does seem common for Riot to kill off parents, it's not like Disney. Tell me if I missed any.
: I sense some noxian bias here... it seems like even mediocre noxian stories get disproportionately high votes.
Well, I would count on Art Is Life getting a lot of votes (although, that's far from a mediocre story).
: Also wondering this. Granted that the newer lore(especially Akali's color story, wtf is that) is kinda bad, there is still some really good stuff to be seen.
Really? Other than the Akali story, which I admit was kind of bland and didn't flesh out her character, the last few stories (Nocturne's, Veigar's, and of course, "Art is Life") have been absolutely fantastic.
: Either Meddler is horribly disconnected from the lore, or Alistar is going to be from Mount Targon.
This might be like the time where GC said in an interview that Vi and Jinx are sisters, before being corrected a few hours later and admitting his last statement was false. Granted, it's not impossible for Alistar to be Targonian -- I actually consider it somewhat likely -- but Meddler is definitely not a reliable source of info. I say we wait for his update.
: This is the same complicated thinking that got us into the whole League's demons are The Seven Deadly Sins affair.
Well, at least this time it's clear that the Ascended were at least inspired from Egyptian mythology.

: Weapon archetypes
I think that we need more characters with nontraditional weapons. The reason why Jax and Gragas are cool is because they beat around their opponent with a LAMP and a BOOZE KEG and still manage to be badass while doing it. I'd like more characters like that.

It wouldn't be such a big deal if it had been anyone else. A code writer, balance member, esports coordinator, etc. But the fact it was someone who actually has a job related to the lore, it's just fucked up. I didn't post it in Memes and Games, so it didn't deserve a half-assed joke as an answer.
Generally speaking, if lore rioter answers something with a joke, it can't be revealed yet. Either that, or it's a joke question (although yours wasn't). So it's possible that the animals they were might be important later on.
: This story is honestly the most fucked up thing Riot has ever released and the fact that people are taking so long to notice makes me slow clap at the author. I will sit here and wait, precious darlings - enjoy the beautiful imagery of this story, the flow, the wonder - but don't read between the lines. Those butterflies are totally real and the collection has nothing to do with Vlad's sexual perversions... To glimpse at the subtext of this story is to open your mind to a torrent of terrors you will want to unsee, unread, un-fathom. Read in combination with the short and long bio for maximum mindfuck.
