: Why I think Riot got it wrong with the update on Aether Wing Kayle (Not about it looks good or not)
Aether Wing went from being the sleekest Kayle skin to the bulkiest and shittiest, what the fuck was Riot thinking. Everything I liked about the skin is gone now, they even changed the recall animation (with the cool audio) into some low tech jetpack crap. She doesn't even have a unique death animation. RIP my first League purchase. Frostblade Irelia wasn't enough I guess, Riot can't seem to stop ruining aesthetics for no good reason .

I'm glad that toxic piece of shit is gone, but I'm still troubled by the fact that Riot has issues with both dudebro misogyny and radical SJW misandry. Honestly what the fuck is going on there. Look, I don't want rabid leftist idiots like DZK, but that doesn't fucking mean I want fratbois farting in faces and sending company emails about boning their female coworkers.

: Can I like something that's completely subjective without being downvoted to hell?
Yeah no, I didn't pay for a skin just so someone on the internet can say "wow I like this skin now lolz" The skin I liked and bought was radically changed into an abomination, Riot doesn't do refunds because they're "player focused", and now people like you say "lol you're not entitled to the product you purchased, you'll accept the rations that ~~the state~~Riot gives you comrade!" Funny how digital goods are the only place where this trash communist shit is acceptable, any other bait and switch like this would get reamed with complaints and litigation. "But the TOS says Riot can do whatever and is immune from laws!" The sooner Congress and the EU take their fingers out of their ass and get their dirty corrupt paws on TOS and lootboxes, the better.

: than every lb main will hate that. Thats what meddler said with "if she was a brand new character". new like zoe or ornn or kai'sa would be ok. They already killed lbs assassin identy with current lb. Current lb just a wavelcear mage. And the big, big majority hates that. Even siv hd who is all about decieving hated it. He used the passive clone like a shaco clone and walked with it around. Current lb just has ki controled clones. And also lb not having chances of many combos like a ryze but slower, instead of a fast combo assassin was painful too. Deciever you could try again on a shaco rework but here could the maisn hate again too.
I disagree, it is entirely possible to create an illusion assassin, the problem is that Riot(with the exception of CertainlyT) refuses to commit to pushing boundaries.

This is great news, Leblanc will be fun to play again! Do you guys still intend to rework her someday? You didn't pick her for the class update without reasons after all.
: So...what is the purpose of this Ultimate skin?
Her face in both the in-game model and splash art is just all wrong.
: I gotta be honest, if this leak is real (looks likely it is) I will be pretty disappointed. Doubly so if it's Kassadin's daughter. The design seems really safe and uninspired, like I've seen this Champion already in the game before. I don't even mind that she looks humanoid, what bothers me more is that they could have made her super creepy and uncanny, really emphasizing the fact that the Void is a scary place that breaks people. I'm talking something inspired by the girl from the Ring or something, human-looking, was probably once human, but is twisted into something horrifying and has become just a host for something unthinkable. Riot could have flexed their horror muscles even a little, but instead we are getting chick wearing Void suit that harnesses the Void? Is there going to be some kind of struggle against corruption? I just don't see an interesting angle with this design, she seems more like a poor interpretation of Kassadin sprinkled with a smidge of Kayn edge and turned into a woman. Maybe her lore/voice will change my mind, I don't know though. Feels like a wasted opportunity for sure.
Yeah I have to agree. I expected her to be more fused with the void, sort of like zerg Kerrigan. Instead she's just wearing a purple void leotard. Kind of boring honestly

You might be thinking "Yeah, right, he would say that", but really, I'm so impressed with level to which discussion around new features is focused on "how will this benefit the player". It's 100% about the players, not the payers. In my department (gameplay systems on Summoner's Rift, Runes, items etc), discussion has never once touched upon monetisation or revenues. It's always about what we think you guys would enjoy the most and what you might not like. Everyone at Riot cares if people are angry and they care if some people are quietly upset. I see you're a very new employee since you came onboard after runes reforged so I feel somewhat bad confronting you like this, but since you're saying all this nice sounding stuff about "players first"... Why does Riot refuse to return refund tokens if they were wasted on IP purchases? That's all I ask. That's all I ever asked since 2013. I can pay the IP cost back quintuple the original amount. And all I've ever gotten were stone cold corporate responses stating : "**THREE LIFETIME REFUNDS END OF DISCUSSION, THIS RULE IS IRONCLAD** but I used them on IP, it's not the same as RP "**NO ARGUMENTS, BEGONE!**" It's nice to post self-satisfying things like "omg we <3 players so much", and it's probably true for most of Riot, but your finance department is absolutely ruthless and soulless. I treat people the way they treat me, and if I get treated like a statistic by a faceless corporation, well I'm inclined to return the favor.
: You know what; to heck with it, let's chat about this. So after seeing the Noxian stuff, you want a game about Noxus - what sort of game are you talking about? Now understand that I can't say if Riot is working on anything, nor can I make promises if any of you come up with something astoundingly awesome - but let's have a convo about this now, while we're on the topic, to get a feel for what the Story, Art and Sound board population would want to see if such a thing were to ever happen. Like - Sharjo mentioned RPG, Berserknurple says RTS, HeroGilgamesh (good name) says Skyrim-like, and OP FrontlineFury says Diablo-like. Tyrsfal wants something with PVP and territory control (unsure of the genre or camera type), and Tesla Effect just wants it to be lore focused. Shall we dig a bit deeper? Beyond just a genre, how game-y are you thinking? Singleplayer? Multiplayer? (The ever elusive co-op?) Game with an end, or not? You play as a champion, or you make your own character? I swear I'm not asking you all to design it for me (promise I could design a dozen games before breakfast - any designer can) what I'm interested in is what this very particular microcosm of players wants. So tell me. No harm in it, right?
Is this market research? Is there a chance of these opinions being used in order to explore the "s" in Riot game**s**? If so, then I suggest Strategy. Why strategy? Simple, it's because the factions in Runeterra (is it still even called that? I don't know anymore) are nearly all involved in wars and conflicts. Text is a great thing, make no mistake about that, but a visual representation of armies and battles is really quite a spectacle. Singleplayer of course, because multiplayer is shit.

How much negative feedback has there actually been, compared to positive? Was there a noticeable split in opinion between people actually involved with the lore and those who only casually cared about it due to the big announcement? What do you think about the situation in general? i disagree with this a little - since the new narrative dropped, we've posted comments across forums almost every day, and have definitely been reading all the threads. I can give you some answers about overall reception, but to be honest, I feel like posting that kind of update will be taken as argumentative or defensive, because it's definitely not the view Boards often seems to have. I don't want to come in here saying something that can be read as "the rest of the world is cool with it," because 1. not the point most posters here are bringing up, which is valid and doesn't become invalid because they're a minority and 2. doesn't seem like the start of a fruitful discussion. The situation in general is that the community (Boards and beyond) could probably use some more insight into how we think about champions and their stories. I'm working on that now. One thing I do want to ask about, because I think it's relevant and something you can give us insight about: what do you see as the difference between "people actually involved with the lore" and those "who only casually care?" I don't disagree there's a difference, but I want to know how you all differentiate between those groups.
> [{quoted}](name=DyQuill,realm=NA,application-id=6kFXY1kR,discussion-id=WJKTWhlI,comment-id=000800040000,timestamp=2017-12-07T18:57:11.415+0000) > One thing I do want to ask about, because I think it's relevant and something you can give us insight about: what do you see as the difference between "people actually involved with the lore" and those "who only casually care?" I don't disagree there's a difference, but I want to know how you all differentiate between those groups. There's really no one satisfactory answer for that, but here's my take: There are three groups, one is indifferent, one in moderate, one is passionate. Indifferent people barely notice or care there is lore, they don't know enough on the topic to even make arguments; usually they just make one sentence comments mocking things or the passionate fans. (Varus old lore sucked tho, old lore was cliche tho, ur a homophobe, ROFL you liked the cliche old lore lol what a LOSER, etc.) Moderate people read the lore and enjoy it, but don't have a strong tie to it, meaning they are less biased, but at the cost of perhaps having less insight regarding a particular lore piece compared to the passionate fans. Passionate people got pulled into some part of the lore and really enjoy it, and these are the people that bother putting in effort to make long complaints about changes. Depending on the magnitude of the changes, these people's deep interest can be easily turned into hostility, since it will feel like heartless betrayal. I don't know how you guys are judging reception regarding something subjective like lore, but if it's through some anonymous polling then you're getting worthless opinions from people who _really_ could not care less. An indifferent person sees an update, music video, gets asked "Hey do you like this update?" and that person will answer yes even though they haven't read a single word of Varus' old lore, and won't read his new lore either.

As a reminder, you _**NEVER**_ have to or should repeat what other players say in-game that is considered offensive and punishable. The best action is to report them at the end of the game so the systems can review their account and behavior.
It's great that you reversed the ban, but this kind of stupid automatic ZERO TOLERANCE policy often results in dumb shit like this happening where innocents get unjustly punished. ZERO TOLERANCE is cancer in schools and it's cancer here. Context matters.

: Why not just use the story for a new champion?
Because the Social Justice MO is about removing and replacing established material and traditions, not creating their own. The concept of a family, especially fatherhood, is hated by the LGBTQ movement and that is why the father/husband aspect of Varus was retconned and replaced with gay lovers. I'm disappointed Riot has decided to go down this route.

If you cannot read the OP to see that your statement is inaccurate on their stance, why should I put weight in the rest of your arguments?
False, the OP does not agree they are priced weirdly. Check his comments in this thread, he only goes as far as saying "maybe" they are slightly overpriced. He never commits to the belief, it is only a tactic in order to offer the illusion of compromise. You are wrong.
: You sound pretty emotional buddy. Good arguments don't come from that
Dismissing dissenting viewpoints as emotional does not support the claim that emote prices are reasonable, sorry champ.
: Since when has looking at things from a logical standpoint instead of an emotional one become shilling. The arguments people have brought up for emotes being free, stem from self-raised expectations that disappoint themselves, or the feeling that Riot owes them something when they don't. If going against the Boards circle-jerk opinion makes me a shill, so be it.
"$10 emotes are great" "Dynamic queue is the best thing since sliced bread" "Actually, Yasuo _isn't_ an obnoxious champ to play against" "Tencent is not only good for Riot, but in fact the entire western world should be subjugated by Chinese totalitarian rule" "The TSA is your friend" "Bandwidth caps are necessary; ISP's simply cannot afford it" That's you. : Changing voiceline using a third party program
AFAIK the only thing LVOC does is replace the voice files with the ones from other regions. There is nothing to detect as malicious software. Broporo is a Riot employee so he is forced to say that "3rd party software is bad mmmkay", but you should be safe. Also voice actors have licenses or whatnot, so Riot can't publically support using "unlicensed" voicework outside of their "proper" region. Consider that even in the false ban waves that went out a few times, none of the forum posters were banned for using LVOC. I've been using it for about two years now with no problems.
: I wont be buying any emotes
A while back I got a survey regarding emotes and the pricing was outrageous, ranging from 300 RP to I believe 750. I offered feedback that those prices were too high, the only way I'd remotely consider paying that price is if the emotes were heavily animated at least at 60 frames per second. Like 100 RP for a still picture emote (what we currently have) around 300 RP for an animated emote (like 2+ alternating frames, think of neon signs) 500+ RP for top tier animated masterworks at 60 frames per second. I'm really disappointed in the implementation of these emotes. There's a lot of potential with them, but the current iteration is lazy and expensive. The emotes should be done in a way that they're fun to look at even if used as BM; at the moment they are nothing more than an annoyance that people will disable, and I have a problem with purchasable cosmetics that can be disabled.
: Well, if you do... You have the exact same gameplay patterns and biometrics, and I'm guessing you are drift compatible (pacific rim anyone?).
If you really do have that information then you guys would never have false positive bans. But you do have false positives. You'd also be able to easily see smurf accounts and hacked accounts. But you don't.
Reav3 (NA)
: The real answer is that we don't feel like we HAVE to get through every champion on the list. The list is constantly growing and evolving and with the size of our cast there will always be champions that need work. I mean it was only just recently that Fiddlesticks got into the Tier 1 list and we were just discussing Corki yesterday and he is getting pretty close to a Tier 1 candidate as well. If we did get through all the Tier 1's then the Tier 2 would just be new Tier 1's. What we do care about is what is the right cadence of champion content to deliver to players. Right now we feel like releasing champions every 2 weeks is way to much. We feel like having big content releases, be it a VGU, a new Champ or a big seasonal update feels right at a monthly cadence. Obviously we won't always hit that perfectly but having content drops roughly every month feels right to us, at least currently. We always re-evaluate this of course and there will always be reason we don't release every month (Xayah & Rakan being a duo champion caused us to skip a Feb release and the scope of Kayns 3 forms made him take a bit longer then usually as well, skipping June.) Worlds being another thing that we may delay releases during. With that being said we then look at what out players want. Currently their are many players that want new champs as well as VGUs. The players on these boards are usually super hard core players invested in the lore that have been playing LoL for a long time. We know that those are the players that generally are more excited about VGUs. The sentiment on these boards doesn't necessarily represent the sentiment of all our players. With both of those facts our strategy is more about what ratio of VGUs and New Champions we want to release that will add the most player value. Our goal isn't driven by getting through our Tier 1 list as fast as possible. So looking at what our players want we feel moving to more of a 50/50 cadence of VGUs and New Champs makes the most sense right now. We will continue to evaluate this ratio though and adjust accordingly over time.
I understand what you're saying, but I think it's a shitty misguided approach that makes the entire product of "League of Legends" suffer in favor of short term ADHD gain. Players want new champs. They spend money and the chinese overlords are pleased with the profits. I completely understand. The ~~spice~~ RP must flow. But you know what, no matter how many fidget spinning children you appease with the _**totally radical new champ**_, that won't magically make Morgana stop looking like a repugnant outdated pile of festering rancid trash from 2009, completely out of place in the increasingly improved game in 2017. In recent years, League has began improving from its stagnant state, from the client, to the lore, to the champ design, champ VO, etc. The quality bar has been raised on all fronts. And now you're telling me that "eyy we don't need to update shit lol gotta make dem new chimps boi" No sir, I disagree completely. Until League's oldest and most problematic champs are brought up to the standards of the rest of the game, I'm of the opinion that VGU's should be prioritized.

I voted positive because you have to be extremely positive to not ragequit when all these scumbags relentlessly attack you. Also no, nobody believes you when you die and say "lag". Are you guys 12 years old? Nobody believed that excuse 10 years ago, and nobody believes it now.
: Why Order is guaranteed to lose
I don't think your examples are good tbh. Sith vs Jedi - Jedi look boring compared to Sith. Also, if you went looking for deeper lore than in the movies, then Jedi come off as weird celibate space monks. Shit's actually kind of creepy. Lissandra vs Ashe - Ashe is an old champ, she was super boring, _and_ she sounds like a tween. There's no way a new champ would lose to that. WoW - alliance is full of wankers, all the cool characters were in horde.
No, Morello's whole argument was against dedicated healers, not secondary healing mechanics such as lifesteal or shields. That's why Soraka has the 10% max HP suicide cost, to prevent nonstop healing.

: Anything is possible, but to me the post is comically over the top. We have no context for what Cait is doing, but this guy is claiming that she needs a perma. Even if she IS trolling (which we don't know!), an auto-perma for role tomfoolery in a normal is ludicrous. EZ being an auto two-week ban is insane. Draven was negative in one game. That's enough to trigger a punishment. PERMANENT MUTE? That's incredible. I simply don't believe that this is a rational response to the logs above.
I've been playing this game since 2013, for four years now I've been forced to stay silent and put up with this endless barrage of trolls, flamers, and feeders while they get to ruin games left and right. I am more then fed up with this. None of them learn through slap on the wrists.

Caitlyn needs to be immediately permanently banned - She thinks she's clever by trying to game the system. Passive aggressive trolling like she's doing is too subtle for the system to notice, and even if she gets reported there are no in-game signs of trolling, so she always goes under the radar. Absolutely disgusting individual. Udyr needs an immediate 2 week suspension - he said EZ Draven needs an immediate 2 week suspension and permanent mute.

: Alt+tabbing on those loading screens can sometimes interrupt the loading process, which is when you see it crash and can't alt+tab back into the game. My best suggestion to stop that from happening is to let the game fully load before switching out of it.
I have a question, why does League prevent alt tabbing during the initial loading of the loading screen? It's like the only game that does this, I can immediately alt tab out of any other game, but NOT League
: I like how you edited your comment to that lol. Way to fuck up the conversation.
There is no conversation, just downvotes. I should have requested to be banned a long time ago, would save me from wasting my time.
: The fact that people are complaining about My Shop is sad
People are complaining because they'd prefer offers for skins they actually _want_ Its simple as that. Why would I give a shit about an 80% discount on a skin I don't even remotely like.
