: Rakan E not free-cast if below initial cast mana threshold
Seems like a recurring problem with mana costs for spells that get a free cast. I don't know if Lissandra's old passive suffered from this, but Swain's old ult definitely did in old URF. Since the mana cost increased steadily, it would shut off the ult once the mana cost was greater than the total mana pool, even though URF spells were supposed to cost no mana. They did fix it after the first couple of URF iterations, but apparently they didn't keep this in mind when creating new possibilities of mana-free spellcasts (I think Rakan was created after Swain's ult mana issue was fixed on URF).

The most likely explanation is that they saw the numbers from the previous season and modified the requirements for each tier and checkpoint to make progression stretch out longer over the season. Last season, it was easy to max honor in a few months, so a lot of us were just sitting on Honor 5 for over half a year. By slowing the progression, we experience upgrades through a longer portion of the year. An alternate option would've been adding more tiers, but that would've caused more issues. Psychologically, those at low honor ranks would feel even further removed from the max ranks. Logistically, rewards would have to be reassessed. Do they give honor wards for additional tiers, or pick specific milestone tiers to unlock them? Keep playing if you want your honor upgrades. They'll come, just at a slower pace this year.
: Update What Can be Bought With Blue Essence
Twice a year, they add the Blue Essence Emporium to the in-client store (next one should be within the next couple of months if they're sticking to the same time ranges). This is intended to be the major BE sink for those players who have all the champions. There are items that cost over 100,000 BE (including a full skin), and skin chromas are also available (2,000 BE for normal chromas and 10,000 for chromas that are normally content creator exclusives). Adding more BE consumables in the regular shop will end up being worse for people with no impulse control, since they won't be able to save up for the massively expensive items in the BEE if they constantly have Hextech Chests and Keys available to burn off their savings.

Completely revamp it. I'm not satisfied with the tentative state of Kayle's update. The wings don't look functional. Sure, they flap, but they lack the proper shape to do so. While it's a nitpick, the departure from functional wing shapes is emphasized with the new design. Her face, while not really an issue from a player's camera view, has a jarringly inhuman look (and not in an ethereal/heavenly way). Her breastplate design makes me feel like I'm looking at an underaged gymnast, which is exacerbated by the prominence of her cuisses, which give the illusion of a fuller ass and thighs. The contrast is dissonant. Jinx's flatness doesn't cause that visual discomfort. Man, that description just sounds creepy. > [{quoted}](name=AIQ,realm=NA,application-id=6kFXY1kR,discussion-id=JAp0mcAL,comment-id=,timestamp=2019-02-18T22:30:59.490+0000) > > ascetic design This is off topic, but the word you want is "aesthetic." This isn't like Aatrox where his wings appear only temporarily, her wings are always on. Her wings can actually be larger without a larger wingspan. I linked this in another thread: https://www.deviantart.com/twarda8/art/Wing-basics-783734359 The leading edge gap takes so much presence away from the wings, but filling in those gaps won't make her wings affect her overall model size. Her wings could stay small in proportion to her entire model, but be much larger than they are now if the wings are more realistically modeled.

I think the emphasized gap in the leading edges of her wings is a hindrance to her aesthetic. I get that it's a stylized choice, but it makes her wings look decorative rather than functional. What you perceive as magnificence is likely the greater wing mass in old Kayle. It doesn't even need to be a larger wingspan (which historically has been problematic for her model size), since the gaps in her current wings are internal and don't serve to reduce her overall size. An artist's wing anatomy study shows what I'm talking about. https://www.deviantart.com/twarda8/art/Wing-basics-783734359 The lack of propatagia takes away from the wings' presence. As someone who enjoys playing Kayle and has been a longtime fan of her design, I've been fearing this update for a while. I absolutely am on board with Morgana's design update, but Kayle's rubs me the wrong way for now.

There are sure to be advocates and merits for either. Having two completely separate terms for what is otherwise the same thing seems needlessly obfuscating. Creating brand new terms to replace the old ones also seems like it would just cause more confusion, [kind of like trying to consolidate technological standards and just ending up with multiple incompatible standards](https://xkcd.com/927/). I feel like the cleanest thing would just be to do away with secondary versions of these terms and declare them unambiguously neutral, but there are always people trying to force gender specificity into terms that don't need them. I've seen -ess and -ress attached to almost every occupation I've ever been aware of in American English. The people doing it are usually *very* insistent. "I'm not a technician. : Giving a mage an AOE stun and 2000 strength shield is balanced.
Using a full build example will always make a champion sound overpowered. For a 2,000HP shield from her ult (assuming no shield bonuses, since most people don't use Revitalize or Forbidden Idol items on Neeko), she needs 596AP and 5 enemy champions in range. In the current game climate of games ending quickly, full builds are a rarity. The average game ends at around 30 minutes, and you can only afford full build by then if you're fed. Probuilds shows most game-ending builds still have Doran's Rings or empty slots. * With the same AP, Xerath can deal 2,681.4 damage _from a range of 6,160_. * With the same AP, Zoe can deal 1,444 damage to the first enemy hit (and 1,155.2 to splashed targets) from a range of 800 (which can be even further from the initial cast point). _This damage is on a 6.5s cooldown._ * With the same AP, Gangplank can deal 3,036.6 AoE damage from _anywhere_ if his targets get stuck in it. Now, here's where your argument both gains and loses some weight. To have enough AP for that 2,000HP shield, Neeko would also deal significantly more damage than the 800 you attributed to Zoe. At 596AP, Neeko's ult deals _1,424.8 damage_. That's comparable to Zoe's Q damage, _but on a 90s cooldown_.

The cinematics portray what the game can't, because they can't have champions in game with their canon sizes. Aurelion Sol is large enough to shoot literal stars around. That crown's huge. Even though I posted this primarily as a joke, I did test it out before posting (because why not?). I have a fairly thin build. With a string the length of my head's circumference, I only managed to get about halfway around my waist. That wasn't even a pronounced semicircle, since my belly is flat. I wouldn't really place any weight on in-game model sizes, as they're limited in scope for technical reasons (formerly explained in lore as champions being magically resized to compete evenly on the Fields of Justice—how else could Lee Sin kick Malphite in the face?). One of the most well-known examples of this is the side-by-side comparison of Kayle and Tristana: http://i.imgur.com/DTvIV91.jpg[] Kayle's model was made smaller to accommodate her wingspan and hitbox. Lorewise, she's definitely not smaller than a Yordle. Cinematics are more likely to be closer to Riot's intended character depictions. When A New Dawn was released, everyone was surprised to see the size to which Nautilus had been inflated, since his lore had only mentioned a "diving suit." However, that behemoth size is the current canon. His lore has been updated with a story describing him holding a man within his hand. The description of the giant suit of diving armor also makes it likely that it's closer to a mech from anime/manga (think Mobile "Suit" Gundam).

Technically a bug, but a pretty minor one. Yep, this is also noticeable if you don't bother opening your Glorious Champion Capsules. Most stack, but the ones with Legend Emotes won't.
: The 'Let The Games Begin' achievement seems to be bugged...
I ran across this on Reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/leagueoflegends/comments/ah3y6k/psa_watch_rewards_do_not_work_for_certain_regions/ Korea, Russia, southeast/Garena are ineligible? Also, Riot seems to have updated the minimum viewing time from 10 to 15 minutes. https://support.riotgames.com/hc/en-us/articles/360001976407-Esports-Watch-Missions > Watch a stream for at least 15 minutes before navigating away Finally got my Watch and Earn 1 finished last night after hopping between regions. CBLOL was the region that worked for me. I haven't confirmed that they now require you to keep focus on the video tab, but several of my attempts failed when I went off tab to do other things.

: I'd vote for Fizz. E on a short cooldown late game with the ability to dodge even tower shots using it. Getting sharked from across a wall and just getting deleted, before he Troll poles out cancelling the tower shot. Yeah, people wouldn't be impressed.

Yeah, people wouldn't be impressed. Don't forget his Q couldn't be dodged once he started the dash or that his W DoT scaled with target's % missing HP on top of the AP scaling *and* Grievous Wounds. He had a super safe cheese trade of an unmissable WQ tag followed by an E escape. Before I realized how strong he was, I played him in a few ARAMs. I kept unintentionally getting kills after I'd already exited fights.
: They mean the new vods coming out tomorrow on the 18th not old vods and it has to be for a minimum of 10 minutes.

The new Season 9 VODs for international games are already on the site. They aren't last season's games. For example: https://watch.na.lolesports.com/vods/lck/lck_2019_spring
: A detail I noticed in the Kayle and Morgana teaser image
That makes sense, since both Kayle and Morgana have Demacian and Targonian ties. The Demacian affiliation was reaffirmed with the recent Snowdown Daily missions since both were eligible for the Demacian champion criterion. The Universe pages currently only label them as Demacian, but the Wikia pages have had them both as dual Demacia/Targon affiliates for a long time.
Larriet (NA)
: I want to point out that Prestige Edition skins ARE NOT Limited; they aren't labelled as such, but they are functionally Legacy skins. The ones released this year will be available in chests even after 2019! Like all Mythic skins, it's a lower drop rate than normal, though.

The ones released this year will be available in chests even after 2019! Like all Mythic skins, it's a lower drop rate than normal, though. Absolutely. Official confirmation of what Larriet says is in both Riot's support article and in tweets from Rioters. > [Rioter Adriaan Noordzij](https://twitter.com/KenAdamsNSA/status/1083136513674641408) > > Yes, you can re-roll (or receive as random drops from chests) a Prestige skin from any source. This is our way of keeping them rare, but not impossible to get after they've been released. They drop at the same rates as other Mythic skins This re-affirms what Riot Mort told us when Prestige Kai'sa was released: > [Riot Mort](https://twitter.com/mortdog/status/1044721429126688768) > > Yes, it is possible [to get Prestige Kai'sa via rerolling skin shards]. > > The Prestige Skin is NOT a chroma. It's closer to a Mythic skin. Riot's Hextech Crafting Guide: > https://support.riotgames.com/hc/en-us/articles/207884233-Hextech-Crafting-Guide > > **Hextech Exclusives:** Outside of redeeming Gemstones for these skins, they also have a 1 in 2,500 chance to drop alongside the normal Hextech chest content. So that's a 0.04% probability of getting a Prestige/Mythic permanent skin in any Hextech chest.
: I hope they're going off actually wards and not just converting vision score into what they think it means because vision score is busted.
> [{quoted}](name=NoDiscussion,realm=NA,application-id=yrc23zHg,discussion-id=e5Fy3Mmd,comment-id=0005,timestamp=2019-01-12T09:20:59.102+0000) > > I hope they're going off actually wards and not just converting vision score into what they think it means because vision score is busted. That's definitely wards, not vision score. Vision-aware supports often have close to 1 ward per minute.

That doesn't really say anything about how new a worker is. "Specialist" is just part of the title, not a matter of seniority or even expertise. I had a PRN (temp) job, and my title was Computer Specialist from day 1.
Mcsquzzy (NA)
: its better to wait since the points are deleted at the end of the year and more skins will come out throughout the year, so unless you plan on blowing a lot of money to get a say a bunny teemo prestige skin for easter but then a prestige super teemo comes out later in october and leads to regret of getting bunny teemo.

This. The Prestige Points expire, but they are valid all year long, and the Prestige skins will be gradually released throughout the year. There's no need to rush your spending on them since not all of the spending options are available yet. It's like last year's Worlds event when people spent their Worlds Tokens before Prestige Kai'sa was added to the Worlds Token Shop, then were unable to afford the skin without spending more money.
: I think for the reasons you stated I found this question super interesting and fun to think about! It may have been naive of her, but I bet in one interpretation she identified with Sylas (albeit in a very different personal circumstance) and placed too much trust in him. She really wanted him to be something he isn't, someone who was helping her work through her troubles and in the end she got burned for it. Doesn't make Sylas a bad guy, he's a pretty gray character, and really humanizes Lux in that she probably feels pretty betrayed but also recognizes why he did it. Still, doesn't make it hurt any less I imagine

d00mface (EUW)
: A Theory About Sylas' Voice Actor
Too bad they didn't hire Zachary Quinto. He played Sylar from Heroes, who could steal other people's abilities, but his imprisonment story was sort of the reverse. He was on a rampage from the beginning, and later found himself bound by his own conscience/mental block for years (a matter of hours in reality). When he broke out, he'd mellowed considerably. Oh, and while Sylas draws his power from Petricite, Sylar's foil in Heroes was Peter Petrelli, another ability mimic. Sylas's designers were probably Heroes fans, although other than the name/ult, the similarities are a bit of a reach.
: Hey Reav3 can you share in your opinion why in general non humanoids aren't as resonant as humanoids, it seems to be a trend in gaming in general since like even in WoW people greatly prefer humanoids like Draenei or Elves over like say taurens or goblins
> [{quoted}](name=Spideraxe,realm=NA,application-id=6kFXY1kR,discussion-id=UOFg5ZG3,comment-id=00100005,timestamp=2019-01-11T03:46:10.464+0000) > > Hey Reav3 can you share in your opinion why in general non humanoids aren't as resonant as humanoids, it seems to be a trend in gaming in general since like even in WoW people greatly prefer humanoids like Draenei or Elves over like say taurens or goblins Well, even your examples of non-humanoids are humanoid. They just don't resemble humans as closely as the other ones you mentioned. I think a certain sense of familiarity just helps people identify more with their game stand-ins. For example, I find Kog'Maw rough to play because his animations distract me. Even though functionally there is no difference between him spitting and Ashe shooting an arrow, I have a harder time using his basic attacks. I can't just let it flow the same way because my thought process hesitates constantly.

Thanks. Not ideal, but I'm glad to see it's just a board functionality quirk and not something I'm doing specifically.

: >Some missions, like the image above, specify PVP games. This should be all-or-nothing, since all of the Snowdown Daily (not FWotD) missions only applied to Matchmade PVP games. Did you actually test all of them? Because I seem to remember doing some Missions (e.g. 3 control wards for Day 16) in Intermediate Co-op. At the same time, I think I tried the 3 dragons for Day 29 in Intro Co-op and having it not count. Anyway, Snowdown Missions definitely could've used some work. Along with potentially missing out on some bonus objectives due to incidental Mission completions (Day 30's inhibs vs. Paranoia event), Twisted Treeline was entirely left out of the event. TT games didn't even count for the Snowdown pass tokens.

I did test several of them in Co-op vs. AI since I was using that to guarantee my FWotD happened as soon as possible. One of the ones I definitely confirmed did not work in bots was the same Dragons one you tried. They need more consistency or clarity, but preferably both.
: Boards Usage Guide - Part 1: Boards Markup
Sometimes the preview feature shows what I want a post to display, but submitting it converts the formatting into entities. For example, I posted a thread last night with a lot of blockquotes. Preview showed boxes around text. First attempt to submit looked like this: > text > text > text > text Since I pre-typed the message in Notepad, I deleted the thread and copypasted it back to a new post, once again verifying the preview displayed actual blockquotes. Same thing. So I hit the edit link to try and fix it, and all my > symbols were changed to > entities in the source. I ended up pasting my clipboard contents into the edit box (literally no change from the original attempt), and it worked. Post-edit, it looked like this: > text > text > text > text So the first submission parsed and force-converted to entities, but edit did not. Is this a known issue or am I doing something screwy?
