Just had this game where I played Morgana support, their bot lane went 0/10 or something, and the rest of their team did poorly as well, and after the game ended, we won so easily that I lost all interest in playing again.

: What do u guys think the new support is gonna be?
I just hope it's a dude, tbh. I love Enchanters, but all the Enchanters in game are female, and so everybody assumes I'm a girl because I play them. Taric is just a tank with a pretty average heal, and Rakan is more of an Enchanter/Catcher hybrid than a full fledged Enchanter. They don't have to be some hyper masculine body builder or anything, but I just want an Enchanter that's a guy.
: [Discussion] Would you like to see more skin lines? If so what kind?
Coven and Elderwood, also Albion, which is a new skinline featuring Elves, and so far only has Blackthorn Morgana and Viridian Kayle. Coven for Janna, since I'm desperate for her to get a "darker" themed skin. Albion for Zyra, mostly because I want a skin that gives her a more human appearance, even if she is technically an Elf in it. Yes, I know, Elderwood fits perfectly for her, but it would be redundant as her classic is already nature themed, and Elderwood would be putting a hat on a hat, so to speak. Finally, Elderwood for Karma. The only skins she has that are actually worth getting are Winter Wonder and Conqueror, also Sun Goddess just to see the splash all the time, and I'm really hoping she can get a nice 1350 skin.

Look at Soraka's Classic splash art and tell me what expression she's making.

: Its not just the smile, its the whole expression. She always has this odd expression of just not caring about anything. She's not angry, she's not quite neutral, she's not happy, shes not determined, she just isn't anything.
Again, that's the same with a whole lot of champions.
Terozu (NA)
: If you look at Janna's splash Arts, they all give her a "Not giving a fuck" expression. The only exception was her Legendary which made her more excited. The newest skin has her smiling.
That's the same for a lot of champions, most of them do have more blank aloof expressions. Soraka only smiles in Pajama Guardian and Winter Wonder splash arts. Sona only smiles in her DJ and Arcade splash arts. Zyra only smiles in Dragon Sorceress splash art. There's a bunch more I could have listed that only smile in at most 2 of their splash arts.

What are you talking about? I'm genuinely confused.
: Coven, maybe? They worship old gods(ivory stag, ebony ram), so she could easily embody some sort of bird god.
BRUH, I completely forgot those skins existed and they're literally some of the best ones. But yeah, Janna in a coven skin worshipping some Bird god is literally a dream come true.

: Moral Relativism and Resonance
I feel that part of the reason a lot of character's motivations can appear confusing or flip flop, which some genuinely do, is partly because every champion is only allowed so much characterization. If I recall correctly, a Rioter said that a Champion's bio is always around a 1000 words or so, which doesn't leave much room for true character depth and to completely flush them out. That, and they can't simply give a new VO to every champion the moment they get a lore update. Sure, there are short stories, but they all, or at least most of them, take the perspective of some rando, to help us see how "normal" people view the champions in world. I'm positive that if champion's were allowed even 5% longer bio's, than a lot of champions would feel less contradictory and all over the place.

: As much as I love this, I think it would come off as repetitive for champions that share the same builds (mid Mages, Enchanters, AD Assassins). It would also be too taxing to change when the most played builds change, as well as when item icons change.
Well, they could use one person from each class, or each lane, so the skins don't get repetitive. Besides, it's not like they're going to make a skin for everybody.
: I mean, I would never build Janna like that, as I prefer to actually give a decent AD boost with the shield and actually have the shield protect the person. Locket is good for champs who have huge health pools(tank sups), Janna does not. Why would anybody build that on her? So basically as I just stated the problem with this would be build diversity, some champs may have a very KEY item they build but not any other item. At this point it'd be a Rabadon skin line for most mid mages, since that's the most guaranteed item they'll all build at some point for a full build. We would need more unique items to have a skin line like that. I can just imagine them botching Vel'Koz too, putting a Magic Pen item on him which you shouldn't build because 1/3 of his damage is True Damage and therefor receives no bonus from MPen. In concept it is funny, but the skins wouldn't sell very well. UNLESS they were like Ultimate skins and changed when you bought an item to have it on the champ, but that'd be too much work for Rito.
I almost always get Locket of the Iron Solari for Janna, mostly because the stats are so good and it's so cheap that it seems like a waste not to get it. Sure, she doesn't have the biggest health pool, even with all items, but the active has come in clutch so many times, and I can't begin to think of the amount times my E, R, and Redemption were all on CD, and I had to save an ally using Locket. Of course, if my team is really ahead, I usually build Shurelya's or Twin Shadow instead.

We've decided to call it **Albion**. > > It's also separate from everything else at the moment, so it's a self-contained setting. Why wouldn't you roll it into the Coven world to make it more rich, and more of a traditional fantasy setting? After all, Emerald Taric exists in this world, is mentioned _directly_ by Eclipse Leona as hailing from the Emerald Chapel, and Taric here is as much of an elf as any of them. It doesn't make a ton of sense to me as to why you'd have so many deeply similar themes, one of which you have established in one world, but decide to splinter them apart in their own world. Ezreal, Kayle, and Morgana could _easily_ be fitted into the Coven world, since it already encompasses a magic forest and elves already. https://ddragon.leagueoflegends.com/cdn/img/champion/splash/Taric_1.jpg
If you read the bio for Emerald Taric, it states that they are actually just humans, that were then gifted power, which is why he looks all Elfy.

: >Just give players the option to mute themselves before a game starts, without the option to reverse it after the game starts. We already can mute our entire team, the entire enemy team, or both, whenever we feel like it, don't know why this isn't option. I have two things to say on this topic, although I'm not _fully_ opposed to a feature like this being added. Simply put, self control goes a long way. After my first permanent ban I learned to bite my tongue and shortly after my attitude changed when I viewed the game through a positive lens. I understand that not all players are the same (which is the main reason why I wouldn't mind if your feature was added) but exercising self-restraint is something all people should be able to do or learn how to do. Secondly, permanent chat restrictions have been attempted before and it just led to players griefing other areas of the game (such as stealing jungle camps or intentionally feeding.) Riot removed them because it was shown to be ineffective at dealing with repeat offenders. >This isn't just for heavily toxic players, either. Imagine all the times a perfectly fine player got tilted after an incredibly bad game, and ends up losing it the very next game and flames their entire team, and has the Honor Level 5 they worked so hard for dropped all the way to Honor Level 0. I've seen that happen to often. Well, if there was a system in place like you suggest, the player in this scenario wouldn't be able to talk in the first place. So it's either take a risk by leaving yourself unmuted and risk tilting over the course of the game or mute yourself and gimp your communication with the enemy team. While you mentioned there are ways to communicate through pings alone, it's never as effective as using chat and not having that ability is a huge detriment to any (non-premade) team. >Chat restrictions are a joke of a punishment, and rarely, if ever, work. I've seen chat restrictions work plenty of times. They act as a fair but stern warning that you're placing your account in jeopardy. When I first made this account I briefly slipped back into my old ways, but that 10 game chat restriction stopped me from continuing my actions and I changed for the better. It's meant to be a slap on the wrist to stop players from heading down a slippery slope.
I'ma tell you the same thing I told another guy. There's a difference between having restrictions forced upon you, and voluntarily accepting them. I HIGHLY doubt that somebody that VOLUNTARILY muted themselves, is going to do something like feed, or AFK.
: > Just give players the option to mute themselves before a game starts, without the option to reverse it after the game starts. We already can mute our entire team, the entire enemy team, or both, whenever we feel like it, don't know why this isn't option. There are two major issues with this idea; first and foremost, self-muting relies on the player's ability to be aware of their own toxicity. And since a fairer portion of toxic players I've seen always try to rationalize and justify their behavior instead of actually view it as a problem, I'm doubtful that the amount of players who would use such a feature would be significant enough justify it being implemented. Second; Riot does not want players to cut off their communication with others - communication is a pretty sizeable part of the game, and giving players the option to just _not_ communicate at all (exempting pings) would go against their intent of maintaining communication as a part of the game. > Chat restrictions are a joke of a punishment, and rarely, if ever, work. I'd like to see evidence of this. Riot has previously mentioned that the majority of players who get chat restricted don't receive another punishment, and the portion of punished players who keep getting punished continually diminishes to the point of the permanent ban, which has been stated to be roughly 0.06% of the playerbase. > Not only that, but chat restricted players, again myself included, will most times just save their chat for when they really, REALLY want to flame somebody. Similarly, I doubt this. If you have evidence, I'd like to see it, but otherwise, I'm inclined to doubt anecdotal claims. > Sure, you can argue that this gives a free pass for players who lack self control, but if player is truly aware of just how toxic they can be in chat, and chooses to mute themselves, not just for themselves but for their teammates, has more than enough self control. Enough self-control would be the ability to refrain from flaming people, _not_ requiring some external factor to inhibit their ability to chat altogether. If you voluntarily cuff your hands together behind your back to avoid punching people, that's the _opposite_ of a sign of self-control. That's evidence that you don't have enough self-control or confidence in said self-control, and choose to simply inhibit your ability to punch people over actually personally restraining yourself. The same applies to self-muting as a concept. --- But, how's about I add to the idea, to make it partially more viable? Have the option to self-mute, but doing so costs Honor progress (1 checkpoint's worth?) and Honor Locks you until you remove the self-mute. That way, players who aren't confident in their ability to control themselves can use the self-mute at the cost of Honor progress (since taking the easy way out isn't really honorable), and the Honor Cost gives people an incentive to _not_ rely on the self-mute and actually develop the self-control needed to not flame.
> There are two major issues with this idea; first and foremost, self-muting relies on the player's ability to be aware of their own toxicity. If it would go against maintaining communication, than the fact that we can already mute all other 9 players in a game whenever we want, just by typing /muteall, seems a little hypocritical, don't you think? Also, just because a few try to rationalize their toxicity, doesn't mean they have to. What I'm suggesting is purely an option, meaning not everybody has to take it, otherwise, it would be a rule. There's all kind of things that don't see much, if any use, from items, champions, gamemodes, and summoner spells, just because not a lot of people take it, doesn't mean nobody takes it. It would be the equivalent of removing Ivern or Cleanse, just because "hey, looks like only a handful of players use this option." > Enough self-control would be the ability to refrain from flaming people, not requiring some external factor to inhibit their ability to chat altogether. But it's already an external factor that keeps us from being toxic all the time. The biggest reason players aren't constantly flaming each other in game, any more than they do now that is, is because we're threatened with bans and losing our chance for ranked rewards. External factors are what keep people acting better, some people just need a little more than others.
Solicitude (EUNE)
: Some years ago RITO implemented a permanent chat ban instead of actual perma-bans as an experiment. What they found out was that toxic players will always find a way to show their frustration, even if they cant use the chat. Inting or ruining the game for their team mates in any way. So no. Permanent chat restrictions instead of perma-bans wont do it. And even if 1% of the players that got perma banned were able to reform with this method (while the actual number is way lower than that), this still wouldnt excuse bringing the other 99% of the toxic players back into the game.
There's a difference between having restrictions forced on you, and voluntarily accepting the restriction. If players are voluntarily muting themselves, I doubt they'd go and start feeding or AFKing.
Jo0o (NA)
: This isn't the first time such an option has been suggested, but I continue to be skeptical of what it would accomplish in practice. You already have the option to simply choose not to partake in chat, but you've ignored that option enough to get banned 7-10 times. Would giving you a box to check have prevented those bans? Maybe you would have made use of it briefly, but even with full knowledge of what you were doing and how it would affect you, you continued to break the rules and continued to get banned over and over. So what's stopping you from simply unchecking the box?
Because you can't uncheck it once the game starts. If anything, after a prolonged period of continually muting yourself, and being unable to type in chat once the game starts, would help players achieve more self control. Eventually, down the line, they might not have to check the box anymore before the game starts. Also, I just couldn't help myself. If I hate you, I want you to know, and feel it for every second I'm stuck in a game with you. However, even I find it tiring after awhile, having to convince guys to buy me skins, just to do the whole manipulation process all over again when I find out my account has been perma'd, again. Rest assured, if I had the option, I'd honestly, positively, truly mute myself before each game.
