Actually, it's just that the balance mentality differs. For Icefrog (Dota's balance lead), balancing around pro play is mandatory, and in the whole history of the game, there's been just 1 single change that wasn't done for pro play, but even that one was done for the high elo. When you balance for everything to be viable im pro play, where the best of the best play, then you get a more "balanced" game. Earth Spirit, one of the hardest to play heroes and one that is the type of Azir in a way with "I need a team", was at one point close to 40% wr in low/mid elo, 45% in high elo, but 100% pick/ban with 90% wr where he got picked, and when he got nerfed, people cried the same thing they do here "I don't care about pro play, stop nerfing heroes because of them". LoL's mentality is that it wants to balance for both casuals and pro play, and that's why you get these one shot meta, as Riot wants everything, or at least, almost everything, to be always viable in yolo que, but since team play and cooperation are rare aspects of the yolo que bracket they chose as the balance tier (last I checked, it's plat), the only way to buff something to be viable there is to give it more damage, and probably take away from what it does as a team aspect thing so it will also be "balanced" in high elo. Now, neither balance mentality is wrong, but compared to eachother, Dota's balance system is more healthy because the "get good" is 100% true. You could pick Slark, climb some low ranks then hit a wall dead in the face because you lack every single skill type needed to win other than "I know how to solo kill". In LoL tho, you could pick *quickly goes to U.GG* Fizz, and climb waaaaay higher with just that 1 skill: "ability to solo kill" than you would in Dota, simply because we don't really have counter items options.

Reminding me of when GA and BV were counter build items. But bring up reverting them and people are too blinded by the concept of more damage to see them as valuable for their passives as a trade off that anyone can take. It was nice having BV as an option against things like full AP malphite just pressing REWQ and one shotting you while playing an AD champ.

: I think the first item power spikes are where some of the issue lies. {{item:3071}} {{item:3078}} These two items in particular being ludicrously good. Is it a coincidence that they both have 20% CDR? 20% CDR is fine on a mage item since mages are almost entirely ability-reliant, their relatively ineffective autos not contributing much. These two items (and Spear of Shojin) give 20% CDR to champions who are perfectly capable of punching you in the face AND using abilities, making them honestly more effective than they should be. - Replace the Stinger in Trinity Force's build path with Recurve Bow, reducing its total CDR to 10%. Possibly nerf the Spellblade proc, shifting some of that removed damage into the on-hit damage provided by way of building from Recurve _(if such a nerf affected Gangplank too much, you could just give Parrrley a bit of extra base damage per rank to even it out)_. For an item meant to be an all-in-one for bruisers, duelists, and Ezreal, this thing gives too much burst damage. - Reduce Black Cleaver to 10% CDR, and increase the Rage passive's bonus on melee champions specifically so that it makes melees stickier than Trinity does. - Reduce Spear of Shojin to 10% CDR. - Give Death's Dance the same statline as Spear of Shojin, and remove Conqueror's healing component. This means that Death's Dance can now be a comparable option to Black Cleaver as a first item if you favor the sustain it provides. _(And nerf the heal passive on Aatrox's E in the event that this proved overbearing on him specifically.)_

: You can't just "lower" damage. The damage in the game comes from so many different sources that lowering everything would do nothing. The different aspects of the game are more similar to an audio equalizer, with the various sliders that control different pitches of sound. Lowering all of them gives you the same exact sound that you had and literally does nothing. The only way to get the "sound" you want is to lower (or raise) specific ones individually until all of them are in the right spot to acquire a suitable sound. It's not a good topic to say "damage is too high", *what damage is too high?* What specifically makes it feel like you're dying too quickly? Is it a specific rune? A certain champion's ability? A critical hit? Some combination of an item with a champion's ability? An item in general? A champion's ability to snowball too quickly? It takes **WAY MORE** than saying "damage is too high" to fix the issue. Granted, I'm not siding against you, but I also know that Riot literally can't do anything without understanding what the hell people are talking about when they give vague and generalized statements like "game has too much damage" or "champions die too fast". Like, some champions are seriously tanky as hell, especially when snowballed or fed (Sion, Garen, etc) so saying generalized statements like that simply makes it impossible for any fixes to be put in through just that type of feedback alone.

: Champion “identity” is not a valid balancing argument. If it’s stupidly broken, like akali’s healing was, then it either needs to be gutted or removed. I could easily argue that Leblanc having a silence was part of her “identity”, but it sure as hell wasn’t healthy.

Akali's healing was not a problem. It was a core part of her kit for well over 7 years and most akali players would rank her healing and her triple ult dash as more core to her identity than her shroud which up until the Reckless mini rework was countered by basically everything including pink wards. The VGU added other things that were a problem, focused her shroud as her "identity" and Akali lost a lot in the name of preserving her shroud before eventually losing a lot of what her shroud had as well. Her shroud is just short of being as worthless as it was before the reckless mini rework outside of the energy restore.

I've said it many times that the marks should be cooldown reductions of like 70% instead of a reset (still a reset on kill). Her mobility is what enables everything else to be used as it is. The 70% would still be an upgrade over how Irelia was before the rework.

First build takes the longest and will have the most trouble shooting. If you ever need assistance you can find a manual for most motherboards online. You might want to do a little bit of a stress test after you get everything set up with something like Prime 95 just for a short amount of time (this is not something that you need to run for even a minute it is just to make sure the computer is not prone to crashing under stress) as I have had a bad hard drive that made my first build crash randomly every few hours but prime 95 made it crash near instantly allowing me to figure out the problem after searching many pages for potential solutions.
