: Tbh I'm kinda amazed how hard you people of old lore go into denial. I do admit that it had some kind of simple and amateurish charm, but barely anything beyond that apart from being restrictive as hell. Standing with the original lore makes you either look like a dunce who can't go with the times ("Back in my time everything was better!"), or like an arrogant elitist ("I loved lore BEFORE IT WAS EVEN COOL!"). Either way, not a symapthic role to take on, and one that won't make you look good in any way. The monsters and horrors of Runeterra were just not scary enough in such a setting. If there is an institution that could possible hold control or a leash on them, then they will ALWAYS be less scary than their equivalent in a world where not even the potential of such control exists. And the job of monsters and horrors is to be terrifying after all, so their flourish more in such a setting, obviously. The special snowflake country looks amazing for maybe 30 minutes and then it exhausts itself, barely comparable to a wild and free world, where story can truly unfold as interstate and -tribe relationships are free in a field of natural anarchy and not chained by some dubious magical world goverment. But then again what you accept or not is irrelevant, but I'm sick of you old-lore folks to come out and ruin the mood every now and then. Luckily it's getting less and less with the time, but still... can you please stop overglorifying the amateurish and chaotic scribbling that was Old Lore?! It was mediocre at best, and I think I might even be able prove this scientifically - sfter all these soon-to-be 10 semesters of Media Studies can't have been for nothing, no? If you hate new lore so much, and with old lore being dead and buried for good, why the hell are you still here? Every opinion on old lore had become null and void ages ago, and an argument on these leads to absolutely nothing -.-
Hey. Fuck you. i didn't bash your ideas. I like the old lore. Get over it, and get over yourself.

: No matter how many other universes such as our own that you reference, it doesn't change what the in-verse meaning of these two causes are. Yasuo wants to see people killed and the world burn so he can rebuild it in a way he sees fit a world of chaos that can barely be lived in. Riven while over-controlling wants to see the world progressed peaceful and happy for the largest number of people possible. Riven is orderly neutral Yasuo is blatantly chaotic evil Riven may or may not take away some free will. He also destroys all free will, so he can pave over it with his own ideals, chaos. There is no circumstances that make that correct. Any and all societies expect you to live by certain rules so Riven wanting to enforce rules as normal. Yasuo is comparable to a terrorist however that just wants to burn down the entire Society. And unlike most terrorists he doesn't even see himself bringing about a better order in the end, which is what a healthy rebellions to do. He just wants to struction leading into chaos that's it. He is wrong and it is simple as that. Whether you think Riven is right or not doesn't change that Yasuo is wrong.
chaotic evil is too subjective, hes chaotic Neutral. he wants chaos and freedom, He Doesnt care what u want. Not caring what others want isn't evil, cuz if it was, riven would be evil too. cuz she wants to kill yasou to have her way prevail. id say they are true embodiments of thier sides, riven being Lawful Neutral, and yasou being Chaotic Neutral. Now that i think about it, they'd both be evil. cuz for me Evil as an alignment is selfishness. Is the character willing to harm others, and ruin lives to achieve thier ultimate goal? are there no exceptions to this? If so that character is evil. an example of a character who is lawful, determined, and desires order and peace, but isn't evil.......is Samurai Jack, i think hes a good reference.
: I think I figured out what the in-world "Summoner's Rift" actually is.
I dont accept the Retcon that riot did over summoners. So i still stand by the original lore. Therefore to me SR is a man made battle ground, rebuilt from the rune wars and used to settle disputes between the various factions of runeterra as opposed to another wide-scale war. Other such Proving Grounds, are the Twisted Treeline, The Howling abyss, (preiviously) The Crystal Scar, The Magma chamber, and The Entirety of Bilge-water, But only during the harrowing---------the summoners Knew of the harrowing and would routinely send summoners and champions in to defend against it, during the harrowing champions from the shadow isles would be too powerful to be summoned at all. all the non human champions, were actually captured by summoners and forced into the service of one of the factions, or choose to help in these disputes. i dont like that they chose to retcon this in response to the introduction of godlike beings like aurelion sol, and kindred. this is because i feel viewing Valoran as a special snowflake of a Magical country, home to an organization of mages so powerful that together they can control beings like kindred and bard(even if for just 30 or so minutes a day) makes them so interesting.
: Is this acceptable ?
Lol that was actual Voodoo prayer. She tried to fucking curse your future relationships over the internet Holy shit that's next level salt, she went to satan for that flame
: Order is not nesisarlly peaceful or morally good. An autocracy is orderly, but that doesn't mean they aren't horrid. In an orderly society Jhin would have the world as his canvas, and all would be forced to witness his art, and participate.
1989 has taught us that a truly ordered society must sacrifice individuality. Jhin wouldnt want to live in such a world.
: Besides, Yasuo is also about control. You don't get to make your own choices when a madman destroys everything and kills everyone so...
Its the same reason i dont like Christianity. If any being at all can know every choice ill make and thought i will have, do i really have free will? Are we poeple are incredibly well designed toys? Free will is only possible in the absence of absolute order, there must be no truely unbreakable rules in order for one to rule himself. Chaos is good. Chaos is why u can even have your own ideas, and choices.
: Yeh no. Yasuo vs Riven is comparable to this, by the words Riot used to describe their sides. Riven is an overly strict governmental official. She maintains peace, love, unity, progress and advancement though her rules are too strict and she does not respect privacy. Maybe she is bad, maybe good, more of a neutral orderly individual and probably should be reasoned with and reigned in, or if she goes too far taken out of power. But that is not Yasuo's goal. But the words Riot has used and their dialogue. He is an anarchist terrorist that wants to get the nuclear codes and end the world in the hope that the one he thinks he will rebuild is better and free with no rules, as if that would ever work. Riven is in the grey, Orderly Neutral. But Yasuo is clearly in the wrong, Chaotic Evil. This is using the information we have one this scenario, not the general concepts and philosophies of another universe

: Can we make all towers on summoners rift like the nexus tower on twisted treeline?
: Shhh! Anarchy is a totally functional form of society and nuking the entire world because it has some problems is totally a reasonable solution. Screw working out our problems and learning from them, what kind of bullshit is that? We don't want stable, livable societies that work towards progress, technology and knowledge. Those are evil. What is good is killing everyone so we can be free......... /s
Goverment isnt the answer to your problems tho. Thats a lazy, complacent way to look at it. Self-exploration and self-betterment are the answer, dont ever rely too much on something you dont truly know. "Todays citizens are children far too young to understand that the hand that feeds you, belongs to the ones who decide whether you starve"
: When people think "Progress under a Steadfast Sky" is morally worse than world destruction
I look at it thru The Magic The Gathering Color Philosophy Order is white, which is almsot always reflected thru goverment. At its worst its totalitarian and unfeeling. Chaos is red, which is usually emotion, its wild and aggressive at worst Id rather have wild emotional world, than a totalitarian machine. Goverement is too restrictive, you speak of progress, but you speak for your self, you know jot what i desiree. You want me to work towards your idea of progress, but i wish to follow my own dreams. I chose freedom. I CHOSE CHAOS.

Don't say they failed making a character. Say they failed making a PC you like. Gangplank's Development in the Burning Tides is Incredibly interesting, plus the ghost skin only thing was genius. Yorick's air of mystery and lack of depth stems from his connection to the Shadow Isles, an inherently mysterious place, in canon. Poppy is adorable as a Naive Hero, Fiora's Cocky, honor thing is very fitting. Ryze? well i just like Ryze. Great CHARACTERS, not good in game to everyone

: # dont give him your biased, fucking answer. and hes not banned. there are riot posts about him, just direct him to someone, whos input actually does things.
bans and suspensions are different things. like being innovative and trolling.
: I'll explain. So a 2.8 million mastery points {{champion:27}} main recently got banned for playing Singed support. (Or that's what everyone thought he got banned for, which was not the case.) It was later found out that he roamed out of lane for too long at a time, along with the fact that he let his ADCs tank poke. Sooner or later, people realized that the ban or penalty was indeed deserved. After a particular game that I watched, everyone on Singeds team was telling everyone to report him. The enemy team was apologizing for having a troll in their game, and the Singed himself reported his whole team for "Intentional Feeding, Verbal Abuse, and Unsportsmanlike Conduct" Soon, he got banned. And everyone realized they were wrong in trying to protect him. _Some people still protect him though. Rip._
# dont give him your biased, fucking answer. and hes not banned. there are riot posts about him, just direct him to someone, whos input actually does things.
: I still don't understand why Irelia is awarded with a full 2s stun if she has 3 hp less than you.
her stun works off percent hp already. switching the stun and slow just means that shes gonna fight you more, cuz now we no longer have a reason to make you believe you had a shot. we can just bum rush you like we want too. we arent going to change irelias best ability combat wise, because it worked as intended against you. we dont make bullets less dangerous cuz they kill stuff right? we just teach the children to not put them selves in that danger.

: EDIT: grammar Okay, so we got together with game designers, player behavior folks, and player support agents to take a hard look at this player, the penalties, and the support tickets associated with it. It's clear this wacky Smite, Support Singed plays to win. It’s also clear the player struggles to effectively communicate intentions and strategy to teammates. In this case, unwieldy communication and the wacky Smite, Support Singed pick are tightly linked. So let’s pick them apart some. Innovative and unconventional approaches to League keep the game fresh, and finding new ways to win motivates a ton of players. We 100% support the opportunity to innovate with surprising picks and strategies in League. The only real condition we place on that right to experimentation is that you play to win. However, sometimes unconventional approaches to the game have costs that outweigh benefits. This player might have a respectable(-ish) winrate on Support Singed with Smite and no Sightstone, but the pick and build also nets them a frankly enormous number of reports and probably gives their ADC high blood pressure. That leaves us with two tricky questions: Q: If intentions are clearly aimed at victory, is there an outer boundary for too unconventional a pick/build/strategy? A: No. This is where we break from the Support ticket linked in the original reddit discussion. Real talk, this player is far from the only support in Gold V to skip out on a Sightstone. No one should ever get banned for skipping Sightstone. On the other hand, asking an ADC to lane alone while their support farms the enemy jungle truly pushes that teammate out of their comfort zone and that should mean something. We can all sympathize with the lonely Miss Fortune facing down Lucian and Alistar at her own turret, and it makes sense to us when they report this Singed player. Q: Do unconventional picks/strategies increase the burden of communications for the player and their teammates? Y: Yes. If you're gonna throw a curveball at teammates, you also need to communicate your intentions to teammates. You shouldn’t just expect everyone to "get it", so tell them what's up. To be clear, this player does attempt to communicate intent and strategy, but a good chunk of teammates across hundreds of games just don’t want to sign up for the plan. That lack of agreement on the new plan makes for a pretty chaotic game and leads to a huge share of this player’s reports. If a teammate in champ select says, “pls no, this is game 5 of promos”, maybe stick with something conventional and skip tilting your teammates off the face of the earth. In short, argue for your idea, but stay ready to be flexible. In the same vein, teammates should be willing give unconventional picks/strategies a fair shot. They could surprise your opponents more than they surprise you. We need to leave plenty of space for experimentation in League (Hi Support MF), even if it sometimes leaves us in less than perfectly comfy games. If you're about to play stunbot Twisted Fate tank support with Talisman, Righteous Glory, and Protobelt, let your team know the special kind of hell you're aiming to create for your enemies, and how they should adjust their expectations and approach to the game. If, instead of that, you wholly fail to communicate, or completely disrupt game after game, it makes sense that you’d rack up a ton of reports, net manual reviews and even potential penalties from Player Support. The net result is that players, if playing to win, have a fundamental right to experiment in League. It’s good for the game. At the same time, common sense and good sportsmanship say that experimenting players need to clearly communicate intent and win conditions to their teammates. In this Singed player’s case, the two-week ban’s already expired. For what it’s worth, we believe the penalty was warranted because in literally hundreds of games the player inflicted a huge amount of disruption on players who didn’t agree to their chemistry experiments. On the other hand, the player’s communication issues fall well short of permaban territory, and in retrospect the threat of a perma in the Player Support response was a bit much. We also see marked improvement in their efforts communicate with teammates in more recent games. It’s worth mentioning that cases like these are handled by humans and any player in a (pretty dang rare) situation like this can request further detail and a full review from Player Support. Still, with intent to win confirmed, gameplay experimentation and innovation is something we stand behind even if it ruffles feathers. After all, conventional picks lose half their games too. We think this player could still do a much better job of communicating with teammates, but we also believe players should be more tolerant of different approaches to the game. The line here is the player repeatedly showing no flexibility in the face of resistance to their strategies, and consistently forcing teammates into a wildly different bot lane experience hundreds of times.

: I agree. You can pick whatever, you can take whatever summoner spells, and you can try the strat; but you _have_ to walk a team through it because you're the only person in the world who runs it and will have any idea of how to make it work well enough.
he does tho, he posts a paragraph explaining himself to his team every game, The Lolhounds, as well as anyone whose played with him can attest to his dedication to keeping his team in the loop. i think hes following all the rules here, i think his teams are just hating what they dont understand, and riot needs to take a hard look at this before they set a nasty Precedent
Faie (NA)
: The problem is that Singed Man was pulling out a strat in Ranked that required the cooperation of all 4 teammates to work. This was not him choosing an "off-meta" champ, he required that all 4 people change their way of playing to accommodate him. He did not have an >50% winrate with Singed support. His winrate was due to top-lane Singed. His support games made his teammates suffer, as he would ignore the role he had (Support), and not play support. He was not banned for "off-meta". He was banned for refusing to cooperate, as he was presenting a strat that needed the cooperation of his teammates.
But he did Cooperate and Communicate his intentions to his team, every game he posts a paragraph detailing what he will do and wht his team can do to help. And after his lv 1 cheese attempt, he always goes back to bot-lane, his Innovation takes little over 3-4 minutes to accomplish. the very short amount of time hes gone, is comparable to having a bard support. dont even get me started on the fact that supports dont belong to an adc, but to the team, and his actions are an attempt to set back the enemy which is helpful to his team, and what supports do. this guy isn't, some toxic loner, hes just a singed main, whose knowledge of trolling enemies has allowed him to take support singed to a new level. hes the new generation of league players, AdellaideSkyhart is an Innovator

i think this case is too important to ignore, depending on how it turns out, you playing your favorite champions might be a bannable offense for whole seasons. look up this case, think about it. and Voice your opinion on a larger scale, even if that opinion is "can u chill".

Why solo can't be actually solo - if anyone wants to duo, they can easily go play flex, if I want to play solo, what do I do? The fact that Riot conceded and took 1 step back to the old system instead of actually improving the game does not make me that happy. : good job u killed teemo with that new dusk blade shit...WHY THE FUK would u disable teemos ult with that???
: if you are 400 armor and still get blown up AD assassins then you're doing it wrong son... Especialy with how lethality works now... 50 lethality is nothing if you aren't above lvl16 or so and even then, it's just 50 flat pen if you are lvl18... 50 pen? against 400? that's laughable.... INTING MALPH DETECTED
25 flat pen + the scaling pen, its around 76 pen.
: I have been banned 6 times but riot could of prevented it(READ BEFORE DOWNVOTING INTO OBLIVION!)
: To all the people who split push/never teamfight
or its like playing chess, with player knows the most effective way to use his queen. pawns, have 1 job, to make her job easier
: Why is every thread criticizing the assassin update immediately downvoted?
cuz its literally been less than 3 days, and the boards are full of people convinced they should be on the balance team and be challenger. point is, we dont know wtf were talking about and that wont stop us from making long ass posts under the pretense that we do.
: Whats up with this new Ranking System
soft reset and you got Solo Que back, hold your complaints for 2 months from now.
