: I'm Done Playing Mordekaiser...
New Mord is a fine champ ... he's just not Mord ... he's AP {{champion:122}} ... which isn't bad per-se ... often I'd rather play Darius since he's overall stronger in every way. I miss the Mord that I 'grew up' with before the Juggernaut update version that ruined him in the first place. His kit was cohesive and immensely satisfying. New Mord ... good stuff. I like it ... just not the same. Didn't bring back that magic for me and I continue to drift away from League. A lot of my champs that I used to call a main were reworked or nerf/chaned into different playstyles. Many of my old mains are now a shell of their former selves with barely a inkling of their original playstyles. Reworks: {{champion:82}} {{champion:83}} {{champion:78}} {{champion:13}} {{champion:80}} {{champion:98}} Removed Playstyles: {{champion:126}} {{champion:150}} {{champion:62}} {{champion:201}} {{champion:223}} {{champion:254}} {{champion:27}} Is this bad ... only kinda ... I mean I miss the original play-style and feel I wasted money on skins for them I don't feel like I have a main anymore and frankly there's no one on the roster that really speaks to me anymore. I liked playing bruisers and tanks and "being in the trenches" but that style of play has been reduced/removed in favor of keeping ADC & Assassins powerful
: Join Us Oct. 15th to Celebrate 10 Years of League
Boy that logo looks like a generic mobile game. Like someone did a asset rip of League and are trying to pass it off as their "own thang"
: This is a great call out. TFT (much like League or **any** game for that matter) isn't for everyone! You should seek out game / game modes that you love the most and play! The hardest feels bad moments come when you find a game that doesn't have as many fans which means those game types dont get supported :(. It feels bad, but is the reality of anything. If not enough people use it, that thing will be killed. Doesn't stop it from feeling bad tho :P
Too bad Riot keeps removing those game modes. Dominion Twisted Treeline Rotating game modes like: Definitely not Dominion Ascension Etc. Yuuuup ... just get right on that ...
: here i am still wanting Dominion back
: Teamfight Tactics
Wish you would have supported Dominion or Twisted Treeline like this.

: She was not released as a support. She was a midlane Control mage. Her Secondary role was support but really was better at jungling at the time.
Yeah, but that's not why I bought her. I bought her because I saw her kit and said "damn that's a fine support"
: PSA: Zyra and Brand are NOT supports
I bought Zyra at release because her kit was perfect for support. She's been a support since release.

: We had a chat recently about our different queues. Issue of whether we should replace TT with something else did get raised, given its play rate ranges from extremely low in regions like NA and EU to effectively non existent in most other regions. We concluded we should still keep it despite that, though I expect we'd want to revisit that if things changed (e.g. if it's play rate declines further). For reference, Dominion was substantially lower in play rate again than current TT when we made the call to remove it.
Can you fix the queue? We stopped playing ranked 3s because we haven't had a fair game in over 2 years. We used to play all the time. But now all we come across are gate-keeper teams that stomp you then lose their promos, or teams with Gold, Plat, Diamond 5v5 players. You need to take other ranks into account when setting up these matches. We stopped playing 3s this year because we got sick of being ROFL stomped by 2 silvers and a Plat in a Bronze 4 game.
: League needs to bring back Dominion

: Blitz has come up a lot, but I really don't think we can change that one much, its too iconic and would probably upset a lot of the Blitz mains. There is the iBlitz skin which has a toned down run anim
I literally do not buy the new Lancer Blitz skins because they look so awful and derpy with that walk animation (on something that hovers). Same thing with Badlands Rumble - the "walk animation" the idle animations ... turned that skin from a must by to a "maybe if I get it in a chest"

No, we can't. The boards community is far too toxic compared to how it used to be. The audience has changed. I started at the end of Season 1, beginning of Season 2. Things were very different. The players were very different. The players had far different expectations and far far less entitlement. I would say a series of missteps changed the culture of Riot and the Player ... and mainly it was the player's fault. 1) Dragon Champ (don't even remember the name) who eventually became Aurelion Sol. The players became very toxic over this champ and Riot realized that they couldn't talk about "cool want to happens" anymore. 2) The Juggernaut Rework and the destruction of fanbase trust. This one is more on Riot in my opinion. The handling of {{champion:82}} and {{champion:72}} and in particular the treatment of the {{champion:82}}-fan base was a huge misstep that helped change the trust levels between Riot and the player base. Mordekaiser was and remains the worst rework and every bit of feedback was ignored or worse. This was a personal tipping point for me as a player. As a game instructor and someone who has tried to get a company going ... I understand what they were up against, but undeniably this incident resonated further. 3) The removal of Dominion. The fanbase didn't engage enough ... Riot didn't do enough ... who knows... but when it happened it came across as "We didn't fix it because not enough people were player" and the players saying "We aren't playing because you aren't fixing it" and the result becoming losing a fun mode. This culminated in a part of the playerbase becoming increasingly cynical. There's more to list ... but you get the idea. Basically the rift occurred because these rifts formed and the players chose to not forgive/forget. In general the modern player refuses to accept anything but infallibility from Riot and as the player base both aged and grown younger at the same time... Riot has learned that silence is safer than the casual conversation of the past. THAT being said ... HOLY CRAP MAN ... Riot is still the most open and communicative game company out there!! Yes I'd like to have more simple conversation with Rioters like in the 'good old days' ... but dude ... we got it good compared to just about everyone else. Can we have the "good old days" back? Yes, but only if there is a MASSIVE culture shift away from player entitlement on the boards. Simply, they don't talk to us because we only shout at them.
: ADC's needed love apparently. Can't have them being weak for a single season, am I right fellas? High five

Also ... don't "fight back" against other toxic players. That seems to be the downfall of many "on the cusp" players (no offense). Just play your best, mute them, let them rip on you and report them at the end of the match.

: realistically, when a game has to attract NEW players, it is in its most unstable state when league was young, it was at a point where its population started to explode now, we're seeing the opposite and the company is trying desperately to attract new players instead of keeping the interest of the old players name one game that hasn't snowballed downhill when the company makes too many mistakes look at command and conquer, a franchise that used to be **TOP OF THE WORLD**...it has only a few thousand players left if that and most of them are eastern starcraft, the game that started to dethrone CnC, shared a similar fate and starcraft 2 with its everything online must protect copyrite yada yada..who knows how many players are on it every time I try to enjoy a genre I enjoy in SC2, I quit because local AI is purchase-only and online AI is worthless to a player on satellite internet
You're really not thinking through your own argument there. OF COURSE A GAME WANTS NEW PLAYERS. That's how you keep growing and maintaining your market. Trying to attract new players isn't a sign of weakness at all. It's a sign of normal marketing. Should all sales of Settlers of Catan be suspended because that company should "rely on its core audience?" NO of course not. You need to keep selling, you need to create new fans and new player. That's like saying Disney should just rely on all kids born in the 50's to keep their theme parks and movies afloat. That Disney should keep making cartoons and movies for a 50's audience. NO! You always need to be acting to attract a new generation of fans as your previous fans grow up. "Snow White" is a very different movie than "Aladdin" which is very different than "CoCo" or "Moana" - things evolve and you update with the times for new audiences. Should Disney have stopped changing and updating their look and feel and writing since the 90's were so amazing for them? No, that hurt the company when they ended flopping several movies in a row because they weren't adapting. EA repackages evergreen products like Madden Football every year to attract *gasp* new players. DE regularly checks their new player experience to continue to attract new players to Warframe. Command and Conquer is an awful example. Westwood studios sold out to EA. EA cannibalized that company. Further C&C was NEVER the powerhouse that League is. C&C failed because they didn't ship Tiberium Sun for 4 years, despite advertising it in the ending of the first game. Why did that happen?! Originally it was supposed to be a voxel engine game, but a little thing called Quake 1 happened that completely rewrote the gaming landscape and how we made games. Suddenly, they were reconsidering what engine the game should be made in and it took them 4 years to replace it. When the game was finally released it, it played like a game that would have been good in 1996 not 1999. That is what killed C&C. Red Alert did well for itself as a franchise and Generals did OK as well. But Westwood had to sell off to EA in 1998 because they failed to release C&C 2 and we all know what that means. Star Craft had nothing to do with the demise of C&C.
: league is gonna fucking die anyway
You're extremely wrong ... you are only correct in that "everything dies eventually" but League is still in the top of the foodchain and it doesn't show any signs of stopping.
: Because people are angry and salty about how riot "ruined" the boards years ago or something.
Well ... the kind of did ... the boards used to be thriving ... then they forced this reddit style on the community. A lot of the community didn't want this style. Then after forcing this new style, they promptly abandoned the boards for reddit anyway.
: How do the God-King Skins appeal to you visually?
Garen is a bit underwhelming, but his affects are AMAZING Darius is pretty amazing, but slighty underwhelming effects.
: Aatrox is the worst Rework of all time
The {{champion:82}} community frowns upon your assertion.

: I remember watching some Korean Yorick players back in the day, and they never played him top lane. They played him as a poke mage mid laner lmao. Those were the days.
I used to play him 2v1 in bot lane so we could experiment with double jungle strats.
: Old Yorick had a unique class combo: Juggernaut + Enchanter
Right there with you. New Yorick doesn't feel like a Champion. He feels like a placeholder for summoning the real champion (his ULT). He has hardly any agency in his kit.
: No it's not. They make it easier by ignoring the context of the chat.
Dude - it's really hard to tell the difference between feeding and a bad game. Plain and simple. I can skim a chat log for bad words and phrases really really easy. My first year CS students can do a version of that. But getting a computer to tell the difference between a bad game and intentional feeding is going to require some pretty extensive learning and heuristics. EVEN THEN it will still need to be reviewed by human eyes who will still have to decide on intentions until the system is extremely reliable.
: Riot needs to decide who their core audience is.
Plain and simple they need to bring back Dominion - maybe with some refinements.

My guess: we want to avoid survey fatigue. If we survey people on everything, the likelyhood of getting meaningful responses drop past a certain inflection point. I agree there should be avenues to share feedback, but I don't think surveys are the best tool for that specific avenue.
As someone who owns a lot of skins .... the only surveys I get from you guys is "why didn't you buy this skin?" Which came across as very "Hey, whale, why didn't you buy this skin? You're a whale aren't you? Where's our money?" I mean, I still enjoyed doing the survey, but ... yeah, still had a back-handedness to it.

: Riot promised to do a better job of delivering on Aatrox's fantasy, which players interpreted as promise to give the existing champion a new kit. However, what was delivered was the exact opposite: a new champion for his existing kit (albeit tweaked _substantially_). I **really** like this new champion. The God of War is a good fantasy for a champion, and the new champion does it wonderfully. ...but _it's still not Aatrox_. Riot could have satisfied BOTH groups of players by just releasing the World Ender as a new champion, but also giving us the Dark/Antagonistic Valkyrie that Aatrox was meant to be - the one who chooses who dies in battle.
Except ... that's not who Aatrox was ... frankly based on the marketing he was supposed to be a support that turns the tide of battle of a losing side. Aatrox was one of the WORST deliveries ever. There was no connection between the fantasy they sold and the character they made. Aatrox himself as released was awful with no cohesion to his kit. Frankly this new kit looks way better. I still want the support that I was sold on though during the Aatrox teasers back in the day.
: Keep playing my friend, I've seen it way too many times. Hence why I made this post!
: I'm sick of Riot's inconsistent methodology when it comes to punishing toxicity
I have only seen instant feedback a single time. Just because you don't see it, doesn't mean it didn't/won't happen.
: Top 13 Champions that has gone longest without a skin [05/23/2018]
{{champion:39}} got a new skin. Frost Blade. Unfortunately she also got a skin removed ... Frost Blade.
: Moving towers? What the f*ck.
Um ... {{item:3123}} ... just saying ... it's also not bad on Urgot. Also .. why did your whole team focus the tank?! That was an awful team-fight.
: My point exactly, and when the most vocal part of the boards is screaming "STOP BANNING US!" it's a clear indication of a serious problem. Season 2, 3, 4, and 5, it wasn't that bad we had tribunals and the like and yea of course there were some restrictions and some bans but it was a very VERY small part. The last couple season though they instituted autobanning and now people get banned left and right, that's a real issue, it makes the game lackluster. Here's what you think will happen "all the toxic people will get banned and the game will have an improved community". Here's what's actually happening "all of the toxic people are finding partners and clans and then group reporting people that they troll all game and getting them autobanned since bots don't distinguish whats actual toxicity and what's just a group of dicks reporting because they're in a clan". End result? The game will have just as toxic if not a more toxic community but the people who actually enjoyed playing this game will quit and play something else where they don't get banned by toxic idiots.
Wow - LOL - you must not have actually played during Tribunal. My goodness the daily complaints about "Tribunal is a menace!" "Can't this just be automated" "How dare you let other players decide my fate!" ... I did tribunal. I saw the constant complaints. You can't 'grass is greener' that stuff now.
: Same feedback many Yorick fans left for the Arclight skin... similar response of "We hear you, but we're still doing this. Deal with it." I would say Yorick's worse off since he's not getting another skin until 2023 (if League survives that long), but it still sucks.
Meddler (NA)
: If it doesn't work it means we'll be putting time instead into other champs rather than constantly sinking time into Ryze to try and maintain his identity while having him be playable in both regular and organized play.
Could you do a "What's the problem with Ryze?" article? He seems to get more attention and reworks than any other champion in the game. Why?
: These changes aren't targeted at a specific lane but just at the pattern of the champion as a whole. Buffing utility in favor of raw stats is generally going to favor lower-income roles like support or jungle, but I don't think the current list is enough to make her stronger in those roles than in toplane. The R change is particularly strong in toplane as it allows Poppy to have substantially more kill threat 1v1. Being able to guarantee both hits of a Q and an extra auto by casting R means that your opponents have to respect Poppy's burst thresholds a lot more than on Live (or they'll die during the knockup if they don't flash the R in many cases, whereas with the untargetability in they have a window to use Flash/other defensive tools after being hit by R). I've also just realized that there's a line missing from the PBE data pull websites (it's on PBE, just doesn't seem to be listed correctly): Poppy's passive has +50 range on this changelist.
That passive change isn't much compensation for everything that has been lost. Orn literally does everything that Poppy does better than Poppy ... EXCEPT being unkillable. Which you are lowering. Her passive has never made much sense in the first place both thematically or in game-play. Since I use Attack-Move quite a bit - I often find her passive very disruptive to what I'm doing rather than helpful in anyway. Making it even longer range is going to make that even worse.
: Can I Get Some Context for the Poppy Nerfs on the PBE?
I don't get these nerfs at all ... Poppy already has a lower win-rate.

Love Rumble ... but really confused why they aren't using the Super Galaxy rigs ... love the look of the new skin but the animations make it a NO-BUY for me.

Right there with you ... was one of my favorite skins despite the fact that I'm awful with Irelia ... really sad to see such an extreme change rather than an update.
Rioter Comments
: Waveclear work for 8.6 or later
My secondary knee-jerk reaction is ... This is going to kill melee champions. Top-lane is going to become a wasteland of ranged, safe-farming champions. Bruisers and Tanks are going to be muscled out for the sake of champions that can farm from a distance. We're going to see a new invasion of Marksman in the top lane making anything melee instantly obsolete. I could be wrong about this ... that's why I said "knee-jerk" reaction. But it seems to me that the harder it is to farm, the less viable melee champions become.
