So, there is no way to calculate that R is not a net nerf. He does a couple percent more damage to %80 of the team, and much less damage to %20 of the team. You might say, that it's still better for Garen to have a consistent True Damage Ult, but that doesn't change the fact that that ability is going to to less total damage by the numbers now, in any game. Personally, I think that too many players underappreciate the value and elegance of Garens Villain Mechanic.

The Garen on PBE right now is actually nerfed. Garen has few good matchups, in large part because he is a scaling champ with a weak early game.His peak is lvl 11-16, and thanks to Villain Mechanic he doesn't even fall off much after 16, as many other Juggernauts are prone to.

It's not part of his power budget, it was included just for "fun builds" - it wasn't considered realistic that he would actually build crit meta. In Season 7 or so, with crit Runes, it became possible to add an IE to a build to boost E to it's old levels. The old JG Garen build did include PD.

OP point is: the AS scaling doesn't even make up for the removal of Villain Mechanic from Garen power budget. It certainly doesn't warrant total W nerfs on W active AND W passive. Villain mechanic was an enormous part of Garen power budget. The AS scaling, as some of you pointed out, is OPTIONAL at best. There just aren't AS items that Garen wants to build, unless TF. It's difficult for Garen to safely lane while building attack speed. But EVEN if the AS scalings are considered a buff, that buff couldn't possibly be the equivalent of Garen entire Villain Mechanic PLUS cutting his W ability (really his best ability) in half. Garen on PBE currently must be considered a net nerf. He wasn't exactly a strong champion to begin with...

Any champion can get %77 Tenacity from mercs, Legend:Tenacity, Elixer of Iron, and fully stacked Unflinching. (This will just begin to scrape the .5s Tenacity hard cap on a 2s CC.) Without the Unflinching it's still a reliable %63. We haven't bothered to include Sterak's procs, or Cleanse. That's %63 Tenacity from 3 sources that are pretty easy to have all together by midgame. Smite DOES proc Unflinching. You can maintain a fairly consistent (well, on-demand, but easy to get) %32 Tenacity without mercs, just by running Unflinching and Smite. The %10/%20 component of Unflinching does stack additively with Elixer of Iron. One advantage of Unflinching is that you have full use of it lvl 1. Legend Tenacity probably takes about 12m to fully stack.

It's a bug. Sometimes the grade is lost from match history, not only in the client but also in web browser view. The stats and grade are still retained in Riot computers and contribute to what shows in your Stats tab in the client. I'll usually take a screen shot of the postgame screen after notable matches. Sometimes the grades from those grades are lost from History, and I can still refer to the screen shot.

I believe it. The first time that I played TFT, I also quit, after the first two rounds of player fights, and I still finished in fourth place. RNG makes everything possible, and people tend to underestimate just how much RNG is involved in this game...

TFT is readymade for gambling. Parties of 8 may enter. Each puts in $1 (or $10, or $100, whatever): 3rd breaks even, 2nd gets 2x, 1st gets 5x. I believe that rings of such matches are already taking place. Not different from friendly nickle-and-dime poker nights, really... Of course, the possibility also exists to cheat, by entering with a partner who strategically throws, for example...

It seems to me that the entire Shop could be moved to the web. I'm no coder, but Shop and Loot seem to take longer to load, and probably make a lot of additional demands on client resources and footprint just by being part of the client. I predict that this is what will eventually happen anyway.

But I'd much rather pay for the old runes (with IP/BE now), than have to exist with the system that they replaced it with. Maybe you do "get what you pay for". (But again, we paid for runes with a free in-game currency...)

Let's face it, people - some of our issues are because we play a lot, we don't always win, and then bad people who play the game say nasty things to us and then we don't have fun, and then it all seems black. But that's because this is one of the most popular videogames on Earth. We've all had an unbelievable amount of fun playing it, or we wouldn't be here. Kudos to Mr. Merrill and Mr. Beck and I will continue to be part of the League community.

The way that Riot has been moving the Runes around in their rows... what was once presented as logical, has shown itself to be arbitrary in the end anyway. The runes aren't particularly arranged in any sequence of power or conflict. They should just say here: Pick a Keystone and any three, and done with it. I don't see any two runes currently in the same row that are broken if taken together. Actually, the runes that would stack, tend to be in different rows anyway. Unflinching wasn't nerfed when they moved it down, and Bone Plating isn't getting nerfed by going down in position either. Tanks with Shields now get to take Bone Plating AND get Stronger Shields.
