: Just got a Silver 4-1 Duo in my Gold 3 ranked game.
I'm getting this as well. Plat games with Gold players. Matchmaking is extremely broken.
: I feel like part of the problem is that each season there are so many radical changes that don't really improve game play but more just seem to "dumb the game down" for the casual crowd while simultaneously contradicting the previous mission statements from Riot about the direction the game should head in to remain in a healthy state. Remember how back in Season 3 Riot talked loads about how snowball the game was becoming and how players didn't enjoy that aspect very much? And so we had 2 and a half years of changes that revolved around making the game more team oriented, less snowbally, more strategically diversified, and giving games the chance to evolve over long enough durations that more players felt able to contribute toward the teams success or failure. Then Season 6 rolls around and Riot does a complete 180 and we have 2 and a half years of Riot completely undoing those changes that helped make the game state more healthy and enjoyable for the majority of players. It's decisions like this on Riot's part that simply mystify me. Why completely undo almost 3 years of hard work that seriously improved the game and allowed it to be in its most rewarding and enjoyable state ever? To appeal to new casual players who don't have the attention span for a 40 minute game and only are able to focus for 20 minutes? Those aren't the players who made this game popular in the first place and League was SUPPOSED to be a game for the hard core gaming crowd. It just seems like they've drifted farther and farther away from appeasing the core player base these last 3 seasons in the hopes that the new player turnover rate will bump up profit margins and result in a net gain financially. Being so out of touch with the player base and acting in such a greedy fashion when this game started 15+ years ago as a player made map of the players, by the players, for the players feels like its done more harm than good.

Agreed - there was a few times where Riot had everything feeling somewhat balanced and good. I remember like prior to bomb plants and there was the spirit elder jungle items --- I recall that being a pretty healthy meta/jungle situation. But now it really forces the issue when one assassin or "fighter" (i.e. anyone that can burst) gets an early lead because of a bad scuttle fight or a 4-5 person turret dive, the games over. I also find it interesting how turrets get weaker and weaker.

Yeah that's a good point. But being honest, it's those casual people who like seeing braindead stuff that keep a game alive. Take Fortnite for example honestly. The pro playerbase is upset with how spammy and anti building the game has become but new players think its fun because they get to hold left click on everything they see. Same thing with League. People love seeing bloodbaths and love being able to use no strategy to win a game

: To be honest, the game has just changed into something we don't know anymore. But we have to remember, no one thing did this to League. It's a huge mix of things over the years that have ruined the community and the game itself. I don't know why I play league anymore myself. I wish i knew the answer because I am sure there's plenty of reasons I still play. But every time I do play, the game feels so toxic and like it's just gone. There used to be a time where I would only play League. Now I have branched out because it's just not there anymore. Everyone always says its better than ever and honestly maybe for casuals and esports it is. But for veterans and people who loved the game for what it is, it's starting to look like nothing even matters anymore for us. I just dont know anymore

Like the reason I play is basically for Diamond border, at this point. It's just sheer will to get there every season and maintain it. But the points you make about it not being the same for people that have stuck around over the years-- I think that's super true. I feel like more and more less people play (i.e. less viewers for LCS and stuff)

Why do you feel the need to harass them in game by telling them you'll report? Not only are you just egging on a troll, you're making the game environment more negative for your teammates. I see. So defending yourself is looked down upon and people who name call and call people aggressive and offensive words are just left to their own devices? Because that's what it sounds like. Defending oneself is "making a more negative environment" for your teammates.

: >I feel like people who are in duo's tend to be more toxic/abrasive. However, they can double report you and you will get the chat ban instead. Nope. This is completely untrue. Multiple reports mean nothing. Only one report is needed to trigger an investigation, and someone isn't "investigated harder" or more likely to be punished just because multiple people report them. You flaming soraka for their poor behavior is not acceptable just because they broke the rules first, and that's why you were punished for it.

: New Flex Queue is now broken the other way. (was too high, now way too low.).
I'm Diamond MMR. I go 7-3 in placements and I place Plat 1. I win 2 games before this new "roll out" and I get 27 LP per win. So Riot then says "they have a fix" and implements one more placement game and I placed Gold 2? How? What? Keep in mind, everyone in my game was diamond, and they all placed Plat 1/2. nice fix.
: Because of the MMR mismatch in Flex Queue, you got reset to the **original starting point (pre placements).** But remember this is only Preseason, the rank you accomplish now **WILL BE RESET AGAIN!** The rank you get in preseason does only influnece the placement in Season 7 to a SMALL extend! (only your starting point in season 7 is affected by Preseason ranks) Sidenote: 1-2 Tier drops are completely normal in preseason. I.E.: _You were Plat 5 at the end of the season, were placed high Silver after placements, now got placed low Silver. If you now climb to Plat again, you will then only be placed **in low Gold** at the start of Season 7!_ So dont worry to much about the current placement!
Pretty sure they just destroyed my flex MMR with this "fix" which would ruin my starting point when season 7 starts. They really should reset again, because I think this "fix" is bogus.

That really doesn't make any sense because I will be _playing_ with golds which is what they intend _not_ to happen. I had diamond friends place p2 and now p1, which make sense. I straight up placed P1 which makes sense, because I shouldn't have to grind up from gold.

: The State of Diamond 5
Yeah there's really nothing I can do in Diamond 5. I just had a mordekaiser that followed my mid lane around and didn't go top, and just said he was following our talon. How is this Diamond? How is he not banned?
Wildlash2 (EUW)
: I spent over a month in D5, and I agree with you completely. The players are worse than in Plat, probably because they don't care anymore.
I think it's a mixture of not caring, the whole "gatekeeper" mentality (I've seen people troll because others were in their promos), boosted people and I don't know what else. It's incredibly frustrating. I've been diamond for 3 season now, highest I ever got to was D3... and I just can't get over 50LP. I win 2, lose 2. Win 2, lose 1. And LP loss is so much harsher than LP gain.

For a division that is around the top 1% of all players, why are there so many trolls, AFK'ers, and people who don't know how to play their role? > > I just want to start a discussion on the state of low diamond and why it doesn't feel like a high ELO area. The games almost always snowball one way or another, and very rarely become good close games. Every division V is the worst elo to play at, and you're at 0 LP which matches you with the worst people. Elo hell is the very top of the Division I prior and Divison V at every elo (I.e. PlatI-DiamondV, GoldI-PlatV)... This is because of LP clamps (which is why the game feels so grindy if you don't get to your real ELO from placements) and it makes people feel like they're stuck and makes people rage alot. Thats why you always see so many bitchy people in promos and 0 LP Divison V There was a really interesting thread about this on reddit, had like 2k upvotes on the league subreddit, if I find it i'll link it You can thank the league system... it's been like that for awhile edit: found it http://www.reddit.com/r/leagueoflegends/comments/22lq70/my_honest_opinion_about_season_4_solo_queue/ http://www.reddit.com/r/leagueoflegends/comments/1ofp95/platinum_1_the_real_elo_hell_is_this_real_life/ this one too, a Diamond I player LP clamped at Plat I
I appreciate the info. I've been Diamond for the past 3 seasons and the highest I ever got was d3. I've been stuck in D5 for the past few months, pretty much for the same reasons you've mentioned.
Sachabot (NA)
: Probably because once they make it to Diamond, they quit caring/trying. That's my guess, at least. I'm certainly not an expert on high ELO.
If they stop caring then they should be banned... like if you don't play to win, don't play ranked right?
