: She IS the 5th or 6th champ receiving a nerf because of Aftershock, most of them CC mages.
Exactly this, there is an obvious pattern and I don't know how people let alone riot haven't paid enough attention to see it.

The fact that this is the only thing you point at and don't make an attempt to argue against my point at all is very telling.

: I mean she needs some sort of nerf. 54% winrate with 26% pickrate as support big yikes
19th at 51% mid with a 1.97% winrate, received no buffs in ages, so clearly not the champion that's the problem. So, what did happen here? People started using aftershock as a counterpick to engage supports, that's what the problem is.

: nerf 1 rune because of 1 champ nice meme
She's far from the only champion it gets used on you know? And it doesn't get used mid lane so why nerf that? You're nerfing a champion because of the strength of one very specific use case? As suggested nerf aftershock for ranged champions, takes care of the problem no one else really cares, doesn't effect the melee tanks that like to use it. See how easy this is to fix with a little thinking? WIthout and prior to the use of this rune Lux had much lower popularity and winrate, and still maintains that in mid lane, so the problem is clearly not with the champion by herself. Nerfing the champion like this in this case is the meme.

But also lux support is good but it doesn't deserve to be fucking gutted unless riot wants her to be only as a mid laner but like you said they're nerfing mid lux too even with the w change since it takes off her utility making her just a q r bot.

It even nerfs mid more because it doesn't address aftershock, the whole reason she's a popular and strong counterpick to engage supports right now. They see a problem, and are literally ignoring it to just punish a different set of players for no reason.
: Why is Mage Lux getting nerfed?
These changes are actually a meme, she's 19th winrate mid in plat+ at 51% which is in line with average. There are far more powerful champs that could be nerfed instead. Her kit also received 0 buffs in ages, what made her popular as a support recently was aftershock where she holds a 54% winrate in plat+ The problem here is clearly that the rune makes her a good counter pick to engage supports, it has nothing to do with the innate strength of her kit, as the same kit held much lower winrates and popularity before people started using aftershock. Nerfing her makes no actual sense looking at how she actually performs as a mid laner and even as support without aftershock. Nerf aftershocks use on ranged champions, the thing that gives her an unusually high winrate only when using it and only as support, not parts of her kit that just hurts mid lane and won't stop her being a popular support as long as that rune does what it does.
