It's true that we don't actually make money on eSports, but the exposure & branding is a big part of our ROI there. n_n Dominion would have the same ROI, you just need to put in the promotion. Don't retire it completely, retire it to "the workshop." Make a new Shurima map for it since you already retconned Kalamanda out of the world. Fix a few of the major gripes like the way quests are spawned, getting rid of personal score, fixing vision options (I say sweeper as a boot enchant), and a few other changes to give it more mass-appeal (invert score to be a gain for your team towards goal, and try to work out a more balanced contested objective to add in place of stormshields. IC's cannon failed because of how easy it was to snowball it into a 5-cap. Instead, maybe have it drop items you need to carry back to base to score points, so it would occupy the winning team longer as the losing team respawned from that fight). Make the relaunch a HUGE event. Include a ranked queue, and start a smaller LCS circuit for it. Give it the exposure it always deserved. Of course, give the teams who will be playing it plenty of time to practice. There are plenty of old high elo guides, tournament match VODs, etc. that they can study and learn from. Then they can use the techniques they learn in the streamed matches, imparting that knowledge onto a larger section of the community. Bring back the Dominion board so there's a centralized hub for game knowledge. After the way you treated it before, it's going to need you to basically rebuild the image from the ground up, but it is doable and it will have MASSIVE returns. Being able to diversify LoL in the current market will give it the draw it needs. Right now there is a trend of MOBAfying other genres, bringing MOBA tropes into other types of game. Counter that by proving how diverse and engaging the MOBA itself can be when different modes of play are **_fully supported_**. Put the 's' in Riot Game**s**.
: So why is Urgot getting nerfed?
Yes, deleting the one map that he dominates is going to be a HUGE nerf for crabman's numbers.
: Why is League so Toxic?
SR is toxic because of its mechanics. Snowballing advantage means that if an ally dies YOU get screwed over doubly hard because now the enemy is stronger. It also makes the majority of the game pointless as a free coast to victory for the team with the advantage, leading to a heavily defeatist attitude. Fixed role meta leads to internal disputes, and CS focus means that you spend most of your time grinding, and because of the snowball from earlier you almost never get into the action of the game in any sort of reasonable situation. It's always a stomp in one direction or the other. These are what make people toxic. And do you know what Riot did about it? They made a map to remove all of these elements from the game, then decided to just delete it. Go back to your toxic cesspool. No more reprieve for you. Riot doesn't want players to be able to have fun, remain competitive, and enjoy a game in a non-toxic atmosphere.

For reference, Awesomenauts has around 50,000 active players, with ~1100 peak concurrent. Even with generous estimates for bots, that's still less than half of what Dominion has, and that's for an entire game. Not to mention the Dominion estimate is insanely low because of how long it was neglected. With any actual effort put into patching it and bumping up the quality, giving ranked, etc. hundreds of thousands of players who quit the mode due to the years of neglect would return. There is no logic to removing it. It's just Tencent being its normal irrational self.

Dominion had an even easier game state to read. It was right in the middle of your screen the whole time in bright green and red bars. Especially accessible without needing game knowledge as is befitting of a spectator event. TT you need to ask, how are the towers? How's gold advantage? CS? KDA? Snowballing? Altar progress? Vilemaw buff? It takes an insane amount of knowledge to assess the situation if a team is "winning" or not. And you claim that's somehow "easier" than Dominion's clearly numbered score?

: Couldn't agree more that LoL needs some better options for "shorter game modes". We do what we can with Featured Game Modes when they release. I want to address the "chicken & egg" analogy for Dominion support here as well. The large majority of players _immediately_ bounced from the mode even when it was first released, preferring Summoner's Rift gameplay instead. The "capture & hold" style of gameplay didn't translate well into a MOBA and players voted strongly with their time: they spent it in SR instead. We certainly could have spent the time & resources to design out the problems and mitigate floors in Dominion, but we recognised an already better experience existed in SR. It had more strategic choice, clearer game-state and a wider variety of satisfying roles. The team chose to double-down on SR instead of splitting between both SR and Dominion. At that point we should have _clearly_ communicated this to you guys, which we didn't. That sucked and it's our bad. Dominion's map shape + capture & hold gameplay was going to have diminishing returns for design time spent on it: and players still just wanted to play SR. I believe League is in a better place today for the time and effort we spent doubling down on SR, rather than splitting focus on Dominion.

: What was your very first shiny pokemon and how'd you handle it?
Delibird in Pokemon Black. It took me 5 generations to catch a single shiny, and I end up with a strong contender for weakst pokemon in existence. Did you know there was a tier below NU? It's called PU and Delibird isn't even any good there. PU doesn't even stand for anything. It just represents how bad those pokemon stink. Later I fished up a shiny Basculin. Threw a quick ball and failed. Then I learned about a new move gen V had added. Final Gambit. It used that. And my only other legit shiny is a Politoed (damp) I got by chain fishing in Pokemon X.

Seriously tho I don't play TT. All minions? Does that make him any good bot? Never tried him there. I doubt a little minion knockback would help anyway. He's still an ADC, after all, not exactly a safe bot laner. He'd be bullied straight back by the enemy bot and have no way to react to ganks. Anti-Stealth dust. Ah, I thought you meant only trap detection based around your second post. Yeah. Talon is the main champ that really needs a dusting, but it works great to punish a Kha'Zix mistake too, and while Akali isn't common, it's nice to have the option for when she does show up instead of giving her free cooldown resets on all her spellvamp. Shaco isn't in a great state right now, but he would still have reliable wall blink escapes under pure dust.

What if we did trap detection and a modified sweeper active to act more like DotA's dust? Reveals through stealth for those hit by it, but does not provide basic vision on its own? That way you would need to either use a champion vision skill or hit them with a normal reveal to actually see them in a bush or fog.

I'd need to patch and log on to find out. Lolking still has my stats if that's any help. Meanwhile it's showing yours as wiped down to 2 wins. Did the in-lobby "total wins" drop by a ton for you too? That's the main concern, I think.

: How come there's so many "bots" in Dominion blind pick?
To answer your main question, tho, it's full of bots because you are level 20. Bots are generally all pre-30, leveling accounts to sell to people. They play Dominon because it is time-efficient in terms of EXP and IP gained. The real question is why does Riot continue to allow bots to run rampant selling accounts.

Mobility doesn't have to be a blink or a dash to be effective. > > The big thing about Miss Fortune is that she practically has Mobi Boots from the start of the game. Combine it with the long ranges her E and her Ult offer, she can be a pretty big nuisance if she protects a Tower. > > Sivir instead is powerful when she wants to engage, because she can make her whole Team jump right into the Tower Defenders, or she can keep her Ultimate for a disengage. Her Boomerang's range combined with her Passive and her Spell Shield make her overall a pretty safe champion to play. > > About Corki and Ezreal... They have a long Cooldown dash/blink, and because of that, they can't really use them randomly. So they are immobile in terms of Map Movement. What I also dislike about them is the fact that they don't work with the classical Attack Speed items for ADC-s, leaving me only with Trinity Force (which isn't cheap) and Boots as choices for Movement Speed. Their base Movement Speed is the lowest too... MF is pretty great. Sivir is okay. Ezreal is *almost always* built Blue or AP with 45% CDR, so the cooldown on his blink is next to non-existent. Both builds often boast most damage done in a given game. Corki is good, but the lack of Essence Reaver really hurts him. Riot *really* needs to add the BF Sword items to Dominion. And a Hextek Sweeper boot enchantment. Seriously.

It just makes him burst super hard.
: Dominion is currently balanced better than Summoner's Rift
Of course it is. I've been saying it for 4 years. Has nobody been listening for all that time? (other than Riot, we all know _**THEY**_ never listen)
: Oy riot, you want tons of free accounts to ban?
Or just go to pre-30 and cardboard elo blind pick and nab all the botters...
: Not physical, at least magical, or else it'll be like pre rework and tanks will just wreck her, plus it being anything other than true damage means that the % will need to be higher, so keep that in mind.

So we do %max physical, and if tanks are a problem we throw on some armor shred so that she can deal with them and we just invented Vi.
: I love waiting 15-20 minutes to start playing
15-20 is pretty nice. I remember waiting 30+ for a blind match.

: Top laner dies. He begins frantically spamming pings on the enemy laner who just solo killed him.
He says nothing as the other 3 top laners converge and murder the guy. Because he is smart and plays Dominion.

: Regarding vision on Dominion
Or we could just make sweeper a boot enchant.
: Just a note before you complain about a champion on the forums
The problems you describe are all map design flaws relating to Summoner's Rift. The Crystal Scar lacks these problems. It has other problems, like giant holes in itemization from Rito removing spookyghosts with no substitute, but no _**CORE**_ gameplay problems on the map level.
