And it is a weekend? -.- The salt is real. Give it a rest. If they can't do their job, don't make a fantasy league in the first place. "Coding at this scale"? Do you have any idea what you're talking about? Random people make fantasy league drafts for major league sports that are far more complex than this and they have zero difficulty with it. Not to mention that you have no clue what 'coding' is involved anyway. You're likely one of those idiots that thinks 'hacking' is the thing they show on movies and television shows. Last but not least, try using your own thoughts instead of some retard meme somebody else came up with. What will you bust out next? "Bro"? "Chill"? Imbecile.
: nice to fnc are still broken

: Does Aurelion Sol's character really make sense?
> [{quoted}](name=KING OF MASKS,realm=NA,application-id=6kFXY1kR,discussion-id=OiwhGVE6,comment-id=,timestamp=2016-03-15T19:19:51.238+0000) > > I've been put off by Aurelion Sol ever since his first teaser. > > This guy is supposed to be a cosmic being, like {{champion:432}}, right? Both are orders of magnitude greater than us mere mortals. But where the Bradster is appropriately alien and inscrutable, Aurelion is characterized relatively normally: he's an imperious, narcissistic dude who has a couple hobbies and a good bit of snark. If you were to cut and paste his character onto a regular (albeit flamboyant) mortal champion, what would you have to adjust for him/her to make sense? As far as I can see... nothing. > > There's a little thing in literature called the pathetic fallacy; it describes our tendency to ascribe human traits to the natural world, even when it doesn't make sense. To me, Aurelion is the pathetic fallacy taken to 11: > **_"He is Aurelion Sol, the Star Forger. Creator god, cosmic dragon. You are less than an insect to him; mere dust in the wind. He is completely and totally beyond your ken, impossible for you to comprehe..._** wait, nevermind. He's actually a pretty recognizable personality archetype. He even speaks English!" > What. > > --- > > tl;dr Aurelion doesn't come across as anything even close to a Star Forger. How can you take him seriously? Oh, no doubt about it. Riot utterly Jumped the Shark on the lore on this one. To me though, equally egregious is the introduction of some vast, space-faring Galactic Empire of The Targonians. I thought that Riot's express purpose in claiming that they were redoing the lore is to make it more streamlined. To make it less complex, with less dead-end plot lines that lead to nowhere beyond their initial reveal? How in hell can somebody claim that a giant space-dragon that literally created the stars and was enslaved by a secret (since there's utterly no trace of them on the planet now seemingly) space empire that gave his fabricated body that he created only for the purpose of producing awe in them a mind-controlling crown is a simplified version of lore? Come on Riot. You guys make BILLIONS of dollars in a year. You have your own e-sports League and are attracting investors from all walks of life. Would it really set you guys back to hire actual writers to come up with your lore? Just to make it actually make sense and be consistent? You wanted a dragon. Great. You could have made him a thunder dragon like you wanted. The 'stars' orbiting him could have been lightning balls. The star that he shoots out with his Q could have been a thunderblast. The flying ability isn't some 'star power of flight' that only a star faring dragon could possess. There was literally zero reason to make this dragon some god-beast from the great beyond and introduce some ancient star spanning empire of Targonians that suddenly vanished without a trace. I'm just a regular guy who writes a bit and I'm picking apart your lore. It pains me to think what those more erudite and knowledgeable about writing must do to themselves when they read the stuff you're putting out and calling 'lore' now.

: They dont even update the score of the games.... Need a fix

Need a fix Now they've updated but Reignover's totals STILL include his false points from the previous game against Roccat. FIX IT RIOT! Do you even know there is a problem here or are you just going to blithely go along and then claim you never knew about the issue and have to reattribute wins/losses once the week is over and Reignover's point total has STILL not been properly calculated??????

: To the players, it does. To Riot, it does not. http://www.gamespot.com/articles/plot-is-highly-overrated-league-of-legends-designer-says/1100-6418368/
> To the players, it does. > > To Riot, it does not. > > http://www.gamespot.com/articles/plot-is-highly-overrated-league-of-legends-designer-says/1100-6418368/ Exactly. You'll no doubt find a bunch of Rioters who claim that Lore matters to them, they'll do better, blah blah blah. They've been saying it for like two years now with zero results when you consider actual lore given to players (of course, they consider music videos with Jinx and the like as 'lore'). But when you consider what you see with regards to their actions, as well as the odd interview like the above quoted, you will understand and give up on any chance of actual Lore being put back in this game. The guy quoted is so clueless that he actually believes that people "don't remember story." I don't think that I've seen a more clueless statement regarding narrative. A great narrative is a mix of both character and plot, not just one or the other. Whatever "research" this guy claims to have seen that bears his thoughts out likely doesn't exist or is being grossly misinterpreted so as to benefit their own stance on the matter. Bottom line? Lore is dead in this game and won't be coming back.
: I agree that lore is important, and I personally love it when we pull off lore well. However, I stopped reading the JoJ after just a few issues. It was just too much text with too little actual game impact. In the end of the day, the primary way in which 95% of our playerbase interacts with whatever we end up creating for Runeterra is by playing the game. That's why I think lore that ties directly into the game is so much cooler. The Freljord event and the three queens minigame (full disclosure: Meddler and I implemented the minigame, so I may be biased here) is much cooler. Or things like Lucian's login screen, Yasuo's pre-release story reveal, Jinx vandalizing Vi's champion page and so on. I understand you lore fiends want bigger chunks of text and fiction to sink your teeth into, but I think we can do deep, complex lore without requiring people to read something which then has little to no game impact. We're always exploring new ways to do this kind of thing, so stay tuned.
This shows a fundamental misunderstanding of the role of lore, and the role of fiction in that lore. Deep, complex lore cannot be achieved without having people read things. I'm sorry if you believe that the audience you're pandering to is semi-illiterate and can't read a page of text while having the reasoning ability to place it in context with the champion being written about. It seems to me a drastically poor decision to refuse to do lore because "reading? Lol. People don't want to read." Little to no game impact? Fiction done well (and I'm not talking novels here. JoJ is the example you use, and that is about 30 to 90 seconds of reading for people with functional reading abilities) deepens your comprehension of the driving force behind the character and allows you to use your imagination to further the story when playing. The joy of fiction done well is that you have the meshing of the author's vision meshed with your own take on it to create a story relevant to you. That very thing is an impact in the game, because it allows you to sink a bit deeper into the game. You identify with the characters, you relish furthering the story. Finally, pulling some made-up number like "95% of our playerbase interacts with whatever we end up creating for Runeterra is by playing the game" is wrong on a number of levels. 95%? Really? Just pulling numbers out of the air doesn't make your claim more legit. Out of the millions of players playing LoL, you think that 95% of them don't bother interacting with any lore beyond playing the game? I would suggest that with such a basic prejudice coloring your thinking about out of game lore being worthless, you shouldn't be anywhere near such discussions in the first place. You start out by assuming the very thing being asked for is worthless to 95% of the playerbase. What kind of motivation do you have to do lore justice if you think that the vast majority of the players don't care about it? I'll come right out and say that after years of being promised "lore" and seeing all the excuses delivered about how "it's coming, stay tuned", you guys have less than zero credibility on this issue. Actions speak far louder than words here, though your words about what you think lore is don't leave any hope for those who want more anyway. I'll still play the game. I still enjoy the game itself. But you guys, as a company, had (and still have) the opportunity to do so much more with what you've got and you're just pissing it away. Television. Cartoons. Books. Movies. Online comic strips. Novelettes. ANYTHING. But no. You are seemingly determined to not make money off of your product beyond people playing the product itself.
