: Heya Ocean, You actually had your account boosted three times this year: * Once in mid-March by a Ryze/Cass main, who I've affectionately titled "Faker of the West." * Once in late-May (briefly), by ya boy jungle Xin Zhao with the occasional Jax assist. * And in late-September, you personally teleported to Costa Rica, simultaneously merging yourself with the void and absorbing the knowledge of every previous Malzahar main. Ascending to your true, darker form, you gained 200 MMR in 4 days, stopping only once your lust for D5 had been satiated. Honestly, screenshot my post and get your money back for these boosts, because in the now immortal words of BiIiBili, "I.. I can't express enough how obvious this is."
[Could you have a look at this one?](https://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/player-behavior-moderation/UNLgRel6-punished-for-one-tricking?comment=00010001000100000000000000000000) Seems like they're super adamant that they weren't boosted despite a massive random performance increase (especially after not playing the game for an extended period of time) but if you had time to actually disclose what triggered the ban and smite them or (on the extremely low chance that its a mistake) correct the punishment. You seem inactive so hopefully you weren't smited yourself by Papa Rito for smiting people on the boards (you're our hero)

Do you have any ideas of what sort of evidence I can provide? I am innocent and am willing to show Riot/the Boards any of the information that they deem necessary to prove that I did not boost. So far, though, it just seems to be my word against Riot's and we know how that will work out. It definitely does feel like the odds are stacked against me, but thank you for wishing me luck.
I honestly don't really know. Riot has literally everything they would ever need. They know every IP the account has ever played on, they know what IP each specific game was played on and they can tell APM averages between games. They have literally every piece of information they could have. I don't really know what they do to assess a boost if the IP hasn't changed or hasn't changed often. If you only played Lux at "school" and everything else at home then it would be pretty easy for them to assess it as a boost. If you played every single game at home on the same PC then it's a bit harder (I'm pretty certain they can tell if the PC changes as well so again if every Lux game is on a laptop but the rest are on a PC then...) Even giving you the benefit of the doubt that the Lux games were actually you I mean... I suppose you'd probably play better and be more familiar if the champion is one you were comfortable on (you'd know roam timings, your lethal damage etc) but that wouldn't actually affect your gameplay too much. You'd still have similar APM/clicks in lane/throughout the game. Honestly idk if theres anything you can do unless you keep submitting tickets asking for another manual review but I don't think they will. They seem to be very careful with boosting bans and I haven't seen them be wrong (though its obviously possible) Maybe @mirageofpenguins could shed some light. I...have no idea if its actually possible to tag people on the boards.

: I find it questionable that they waited until the day after the season ended to announce this. Obviously, I would not have transferred if I had known . Personally, I don't consider this an abuse of the system because of the following: 1) It has been brought to Riot's attention on numerous occasions that this "loophole" existed, and there was no official response given to the subject 2) The fact that it costs 2600 RP to actually transfer to a different server, then 2600 RP to transfer back. 3) It can be construed that Riot has intentionally left a paying option open for players who really wanted season rewards. It would have taken minimal effort for them to add to their Ranked Season/Transfers FAQ that transferring servers would not circumvent the honor system rewards lockout if done within X Days/Weeks/Months prior to end of season. 4) In general, it's simply not against the rules on any level. Riot have also failed to discourage this behaviour despite being informed on a variety of different media, including their own boards. "Abuse of the system" is probably a harsh way of putting it when it's clear that Riot has turned a blind-eye for quite some time. Furthermore, the coincidental timing of this announcement is unreasonable. Rather than announcing earlier and removing all incentive for players to server transfer, they waited until after the end of the season where all who were willing/capable of paying the 5200 rp transfer fees had already paid. If the goal is for player reformation, there was no reason for them to wait this long to announce this news. The only two things this achieves is 1) Generating additional revenue via server transfer 2) Punishing players for transferring servers, even when all incentive to do so would be removed if the announcement were earlier. 3) (Not relevant to my case) Discourages players in Silver to even bother for Gold Tier, since they will think they are ineligible for rewards anyway. End of the day, Riot can do what they want. It's their game and I'll just suck it up if they say no.
Just because they're silent on the matter doesn't mean they allow it. You're still getting the skin so you're really not losing much.

: For personal reasons I am posting on my smurf account. The account I am posting about finished in Challenger Tier in Oceania. Keep in mind, I am more than willing to pay the 2600 RP Transfer Fee. I understand that it will not be looked upon favourably that I used the (known) workaround of switching servers. In my defence, there has been absolutely zero official stance on the subject by Riot despite it being brought to their attention in multiple instances. It is not as though I have broken any rules. Likewise, it is perfectly understandable if they refuse my request to qualify for ranked rewards on the Oceania server. That said, I thought the purpose of their recent post was to allow people like myself a chance to reform my behaviour. I think I have been very positive in my games and turned my in-game behaviour around significantly since my previous chat restrictions. If given the chance, I think I can demonstrate this by hitting honor level 2 within the next few months.
Also idk why people post here with their ban appeals/other support related inquiries...what exactly do you want us to do?

The purpose is to help reform behavior but they're also not going to give that opportunity to someone trying to abuse their system. There being zero stance doesn't really mean much. They might not ban for it but they also probably won't show mercy on the people who abuse it. You also already got rewards for JP which was your home server when season ended if you got platinum rewards. They're not going to switch your rewards.
Miyuki (OCE)

You tried to use a workaround/abuse their punishment/rewards system... they're not going to transfer you back for free or give you challenger rewards (especially considering you weren't in challenger -- or any tier for that matter on your home server when the season ended.)

: If that’s all you said, it makes perfect sense that you weren’t getting honors. Players tend to honor those who are well, honorable. Not neutral. What you’re describing is *neutral* chat. Honorable chat is holding the team together through the hard times. Motivating them. Giving them helpful advice. Working with them to come to a consensus. There are many players who get 1-2 honors **per game on average** by being actually honorable. If you aren’t one of those, and you’re simply trying to avoid punishment, then you’re being barely neutral. What’s stopping you now? The fact that since you admitted here that you’re going to do that (and this is permanent now) it’ll be even easier for Riot to punish you for intentionally griefing your team.
Rioters have stated levelling up honor is actually primarily about not getting valid reports, getting honored only helps speed it up a little bit. Not getting valid reports is much more important. Also I believe theres typically a 2 week cap on increasing in honor level unless you can prove otherwise. (Honor gain was increased towards the end of the season to help people who were close to the next honor tier so anything in the last month or two is an outlier)

: Looked through your match history. You have the dead giveaway summoner swap that makes it's pretty obvious. You always, always have flash on F ***except*** in random sprees of doing really well and of course only in ranked. Pretty obvious that someone else is using the account as well. I looked through your history for this season and season 7 and ***not one single time*** in a normal game did you have flash on D yet you randomly have it on D in ranked and start doing really well. https://matchhistory.eune.leagueoflegends.com/en/#match-history/EUW1/24610865 also looking at other evidence, you have exactly zero normal games played on TF in at least 4-5 years but you randomly pick him up in ranked and perform extremely well while randomly having flash on D?
These are my favourite posts because I get to do detective work but this one was too easy :(
: pernament ban
> this ban system is unfair and works on the number of reports.. 1 report and 9 reports hold the exact same weight. Riot also moderates person by person. They don't care _why_ you were toxic.
ChiefDays (EUW)
: Welcome to Season 8 my friend.
He wouldn't have received rewards in previous seasons either since in previous seasons you wouldn't get rewards if you ended the season during a chat restriction.
Dwas (NA)
: Punished 2 hours before the season ended.
>Now I wouldn't mind this (if?) i deserved this > I said a rude comment > I called them the C words >I asked the enemy team if they can please report the players So you were verbally abusive and negative (asking for reports) but you didn't deserve it? The punishment system holds every player accountable for their OWN actions. If you're toxic because someone else is toxic they only look at you (and they look at them individually) -- context doesn't matter. Also 1 report and 9 reports hold the same weight. Don't ask for reports. Also its been this way for YEARS. In previous seasons you couldn't have a 14 day ban in the last 3 months and you couldn't end the season with a chat restriction. Since you got a 10 game chat restriction but only had an hour left you wouldn't have received rewards regardless because you wouldn't be able to complete the chat restriction on time.
: Well it's official i guess.
So Rioters have stated previously that going up honor levels is more about not getting valid reports than it is getting honors. I also believe that there's a cap of 1 checkpoint every 2 weeks meaning if you were as behaved and played as consistently as you stated you should've been honor 2 again as early as September. You must've gotten many more valid reports than you expected. Also was this your first or second chat restriction (aka did you drop to honor 1 or honor 0?) If you dropped to honor 0 then 4 months would put you on a _very_ tight schedule assuming the 2 week limit per checkpoint is correct.
: So what honor level did you end at? And where did you start (post punishment)?
He says he's currently H1 C3 and the chat restrict was on July 3rd. Assuming it was only 10 games it was probably done that day or in the following few days (so let's say July 5th.) 4 full months to recover 1 honor level doesn't sound correct to me. I believe there's a limit on it but I'm pretty sure you can get a checkpoint every 2 weeks. Rioters have also stated its moreso about not getting valid reports than it is getting honors. Maybe OP was more toxic than they thought? (It could also be that this was their second chat restrict meaning they were set to honor 0. If this is the case and the 2 week cap per checkpoint is accurate then they would've been on a very tight schedule to get back to honor 2 on time and would've had to hit pretty much every checkpoint on time.)

: Permanently Banned
I mean, you can _try_ and send a support ticket but as long as the ban wasn't an accident then they 99.9% won't revert it. Since the ban actually wasn't an error odds are very high they won't unban it (especially if your 14 day ban was recently)
: Need Opinion on a chat Restriction which lost me my season rewards
The act of asking for reports in itself is punishable as it's negative. The weight of 1 report is the same as 9, so regardless of whether just you reported someone or EVERYONE reported them there's no difference.
Zardo (NA)
: This "go next" mentality is REALLY getting out of hand
At the same time, the players who never give up no matter what are extremely frustrating. If the score is 3-19 at 12 minutes and WE'RE the early game comp the game is simply over. They have all tier 1's, they have complete control of the jungle and it's only a matter of time. The game is over. Just please open. This meta barely allows comebacks and honestly it's just mentally efficient to go next and rid yourself of the stressful game you're in. People who die once and try and open are a different story but if the game is DONE then...

I mean, it is kinda suspicious that you pretty much exclusively play botlane (300+ games) but your best stats are on champions completely unrelated to botlane. 13-6 J4 4kda, 8-1 WW, 4-1 on Annie, Talon, Pantheon and Anivia and you have a 10KDA across those 5 Anivia games. 4-0 Ekko 6.4 KDA, 4-0 Swain, 3-0 Malz 4KDA, 3-0 Mundo 4kda, 2-0 GP 4.5 KDA. You also only average 1-3 deaths on most of these champions but on your mains you average between 5 and 7 deaths. Either you got boosted or you need to stop playing botlane and switch to these champions.

Why do people keep thinking Riot chooses whether you get primary or secondary? The matchmaking queue is basically a ton of puzzle pieces that matchmaking has to put 10 pieces together that can match. If you put fill, you're in queue as Top, Mid, Jungle, Support, ADC. Support is far less popular than any other role, hence granting you far higher odds of getting support than any other role. Only wanted a duo so I could play Syndra every game (wanted to see how high I could climb playing just her)
: I've recently been playing a lot of Illaoi and I was thinking she might be good to solo climb with. You can splitpush for days, and win most early 1 v 2s with her ult.
Wouldn't give her a huge recommendation but if it's already working for you then go for it. Really you can play anything out of bronze/silver assuming that you're actually good at the champion. My suggestions are simply an outline of reliable champions I think are good for someone struggling to find a role/main champions or even people looking for "smarter" champions to play.
Tarquin96 (EUNE)
: I am a supp main,i am bronze 3 this season and was silver 3 last season,do you have any tips for me, caus i would really love to get high silver or low gold next season,my main champs are blitz, naut and thresh i also pick tahm, shen and taric
A lot of what SmallTomahawker said was pretty accurate. Though, I suggest you drop Thresh for Zyra. He's great, but in low elo teammates don't really know how to respond to you harassing/hooking and are pretty much oblivious to what the lantern does. Zyra provides fairly high damage and some cc, while also tilting your enemy laners into eternity. Just play some normals on her and learn how to harass effectively. I also can't really describe warding spots. Just look it up and there will be guides, I'm sure of it. So, this tip is basically hit or miss but you can find a jungler/adc to duo with. The trick is realistically finding a good jungler/adc but having an extra person on the bottom side of the map on the same wavelength as you can go a long way. As for Blitz and Naut, I'd highly suggest you don't pick them if the enemy has a morgana. You'll be fairly useless. Otherwise, go for it. If you're actually good at Blitz/Taric you could probably just play them out of bronze. Another really lane dominant support in low elo is Leona. I'd definitely suggest you try her out. At the moment I'm not sure quite what else to say, support was the only role I didn't play a huge amount of. I think between our two comments though you have some pretty solid advice to build off of.
: Thanks for the post and comments have been really helpful. I met a diamond player smurfing in silver while playing on this account a couple months back. He was always spamming zed on his smurf account and could easily carry games. Taught me a few things but he mentioned he was actually a zyra main. I eventually added his main and we played a few games. He didn't play ranked until like a month ago and I kind of thought it was out of nerves. Guess it was just due to time since he jumped from p5 to d5 in like a week or two only playing zyra. Thought it was pretty cool, although I looked recently and he decayed back into plat :(. Just going to keep spamming what I know and keep trying to learn. Wish you the best on the grind back to gold/plat.
I'm probably just gonna play Syndra until I wanna kill myself lmao. I really hate OTP'ing but whatever it's super easy. If I actually commit a few days to climbing I'll duo with you after I hit gold so I don't ruin your mmr :^) But yeah, just continuing to play is your best bet. You already have your champion pool down, now it's just a matter of understanding them a little bit better and you should make plat without too much trouble.
: Just seems like last year something finally clicked inside me that let me get past my damn wall which was silver 2. Really haven't tried to push my limits yet but feel I have learned a lot about the game in the last year. I hear what you saying about them making jungle easier. I used to avoid it in past seasons since I had no idea when buffs would be up. But now its all just laid out for players. I am still learning match ups but been having some success. Still trying to work on my farm and lane pressure focus. I have started watching streamers more and some things I used to not notice are starting to stick out to me more than it used to. I feel more comfortable playing VI early game, but still not always confident in how I should build/play her later in the game. I also average a little higher farm as her compared to j4. However, I feel a little weaker about my early game as j4 but better about the mid/late game. I have had success with both so I do plan on continuing to play both of them. They both were buffed a little in the last 2 patches so looks like my timing to pick them up again was pretty good haha. Did you hit a wall in gold or were you able to steadily climb? I was stuck at the silver 2 wall for like 2 years until I accepted I sucked, but part of me is afraid to get stuck at another wall so soon. It sounds really dumb but is part of the reason I have not been spamming games in gold.
As for the last part, honestly after making the new account I got placed in S1 or G5 and pretty much went immediately to low plat. One account was Eve JG and the other was Anivia mud :p I can understand what you mean by a wall. My friend has been around P3-P1 for pretty much the last 2 seasons and has never been able to get into diamond. I don't really understand what creates the wall (maybe stress or nervousness created by the feeling that you'll finally accomplish your mini goal. ) I have another friend who has been S3/2 since like season 2. Don't understand how really. He doesn't play too much though to be fair. Honestly though based on the statistics you shouldn't have s problem getting to plat while playing what you're good at. The only wall I really hit on this account was the Zyra rework. She became pretty bad mid (which is where I was playing her. Was gonna attempt Zyra mid to plat) . Since her rework I kinda just stopped caring. I have the next few days off though so I might try and get back to gold on here. Really depends how cooperative team members are.

: the biggest problem im having is, clicking the ground and retargeting the enemy in a short time withough Q'ing through them. Would "attack move" help out? Also...Q'ing over walls is tricky as fuck...i will q over a wall and then try to do it again later and i wont go over the same wall
When I first learned her wall hops it helped a lot if I would use the first 2 (stacks?) of Q and then E into a wall and press Q immediately after. Just make sure you're facing the wall and don't click on the ground before hopping or it'll change your direction

: Can i have some help?
Really watching players like BoxBox instructional videos are the best way to go for FastQ combo and other animation cancels. Casting "E" before another spell will cancel the animation of the second cast spell if you do it fast enough, but that's a very basic tip. Fast Q will probably take a long time to learn. BoxBox, Revenge, Viper and BRNA are all high elo Riven players. Viper even receives praise from players like Bjergsen in game.

Lower elo players should pick what they're comfortable with. At the same time, I think they should make themselves comfortable on good champions instead of the ones they just find fun. Ranked is for climbing and improving. How I see it is that most low Elo players aren't going to climb high enough where champion exploitation or the "meta" really matters. Most at best will get to Gold V if they get lucky, play enough, or get marginally better than their peers. Some high silver players are very proficient with their champions. Their biggest issues stem from blaming their teammates in game (something most low elo players do that DOES NOT help them win once it starts) and decision-making in the terms of kills vs objectives. I am currently helping a couple of silver Nasus players and mechanically they are pretty sound. They know how to lane, for the most part, and they understand the matchups and power spikes of their champion and their opponents' champions. Where they falter is their choices. They frequently misitemize, have no clue when to take objectives unless they are free, and sometimes lane for 20+ minutes. On my smurf account I played a game where laning phase went on for 30 minutes.
I think the players that are mechanically decent in mid to high silver have a chance at gold or even low plat eventually. Just like you said though, decision making and flaming hold players back. If a mechanically decent player put effort into their game knowledge climbing would become exponentially more realistic for them.
: What would your biggest advice be for grinding from gold to plat? My goal was really only to get to gold this season, but I now find myself having 3 accounts in gold (probably sounds strange I know) with a couple months still left in the season. Seems like a good time to start grinding gold and maybe try for plat, not sure how much better I have to get to do that though. Curious if you have any suggestions.
My friend has 3 accounts in plat currently ;p I suspect I will next season if I decide to try and climb again. I had some really good games today that sparked my interest in ranked again (it's also solo/duoq above diamond... yes please) For you specifically I'm not too sure that you'd really need to do anything special. Looking at your Vi/J4 win rates spells it out pretty clearly; continue to play them and you will climb. Out of 59 games you have a ~71% win rate on them as well as a 73% win rate on Maokai. If you're looking to grind I'd just say keep doing what you're doing. I haven't seen you play so I can't really say much, but as long as you're applying more pressure to lanes/objectives than the other jungler (which Vi/J4 are great at) then you should really have no problems with continuing to win. (Unless you had any specific question?) To be honest, there's not a ton of skill in Jungler v Jungler anymore. You used to be able to look at their buff bar and see when their camps would come up so you could invade/steal them/kill them but jungle timers eliminated a LOT of the intellectual aspect. It's basically a game of objective control/lane pressure and smart invades now.
: I find it refreshing you added {{champion:59}} to your jungle list. I feel like I have been the only person playing him in the jungle lately.
His base damage + cc + fairly low skill requirement makes him (in my opinion) a great pick for less experienced junglers or lower elo players. That's not to say he's bad above gold or anything, I just think he's a great jungler to learn the role with
: People in Gold and lower should just play the champions they are good with and not try to fit compositions. It honestly doesn't matter in low elo. I am in high gold and right now I am starting to notice comps mattering a little bit more, but it is still best to play the champions you are best with. I've climbed with Nasus as well, and currently I am the highest I have ever been after a year of playing. I almost never consider the comp unless I am playing support and my decision is always just 2 or 3 supports.
Actually playing on this account is kind of fun. It's actually huge in champ select having my game knowledge or helping with build paths. Asking for something tankier in the jungle for example usually gets me just that, a tanky jungler. Debatably though, Players under gold aren't really good at any champion. Also the shot calling I can do, although fairly minor, ends up massive. I usually have a pretty big lead so I'm typically trusted enough to call map rotations or baron, nothing overly complex. Also, comps matter a ton, even in low elo they can be executed, although they typically just happen by accident. I do somewhat agree though.
