I just like talking to players, I find it helps keep me humble and grounded (this is a personal thing btw, everyone has their own methods) Job - im an associate product manager! my name - thats a funny story XD. When i was a kid I signed up for neopets with my friend Timothy. He had a neopet (the dragon one I think) and he named it Bazerka which i thought was cool. I asked him if i could have the name and obviously he said no. From then on I made sure to make it to every video game we played before him and took the name for myself XD. Gruesome I know haha. Influence - lol wuts that. No I dont lol Color - green! specifically mint green or a cool pastel green against a white background :0 Food - I'm singaporean so I'd never say no to a good plate of Chicken Rice or Char Kuey teow Halloween - who can say no to the classic bedsheet ghost? Turtle - nope, my friend & carpool mate does tho! He has a few Main - shen or GP mostly. Altho I've been maining mord in recent months Kebabs or cevapi - I love food questions, I'd have to say kebabs since I've never had the privilege of having cevapi before. I'll have to try it

As a Nasus player, for example, I'm less interested in breaking my best stack count (upwards of 1200), since I'd never realistically *see* that at any point afterwards. I'd be a lot more excited by seeing every game that I get a pop-up reminding me that I've broken 500 stacks by 20 minutes. The problem with a new person best is that it is, by nature, a very rare visual reward. > > ------------------------------------------------------------------- > > As far as the Eternal's themselves go, I'd love to see more that emphasize really showing your skill when playing a champion. For example: > > * **Lux:** Snare targets slowed by your E / hit two empowered auto-attacks within X seconds. > * **Miss Fortune:** Score double-up hits on champions after minion kills / ult X champions slowed by Make it Rain. > * **Olaf:** Hit X axes within Y seconds. > * **Draven:** Catch X axes without dropping any. > * **Lucian:** Land X ultimate shots against the same target. > > When it's just "get kills" or "hit two+ people with a big AoE" it really doesn't give the bragging rights I'd personally like to see. ** Lux: Snare targets slowed by your E / hit two empowered auto-attacks within X seconds. Miss Fortune: Score double-up hits on champions after minion kills / ult X champions slowed by Make it Rain. Olaf: Hit X axes within Y seconds. Draven: Catch X axes without dropping any. Lucian: Land X ultimate shots against the same target.** These are all well within the realm of reality for Eternals designs, so great suggestions there! You bring up an interesting point about Eternals that increment when you accomplish a very difficult task, like your stacks @ 20m example. We could increment that Eternal every time you hit that goal. That's an awesome idea that fits well within the limits of the system! I'm not too sure how many champs have something like that (BF Swords purchased before x minutes on ADCs for example is a bit.... weird), but I'm super open to ideas in this space. To add a little extra context here, we are pretty against doing things like "% of Thresh hooks hit per game" or "Average anything" (those numbers can go down which makes missing a skillshot feel even worse, and we're not comfortable with that). An Eternal, in general, should only ever go up, but the conditions for that can be pretty flexible so long as they aren't gameplay-warping in a negative way. ----------------------------------- > * Unlocking champion-specific Summoner Icons for that champion and all skins for that champion you own or later purchase (specifically that champion/skin's in-game icon, for ease of use). > * Visually enhanced recall particle effects (something I believe players would really be interested in). > * Loading screen flair. > * A special ward that you can only equip when playing a champion you've rekindled a set for. > * Some sort of fun level-up effect or particle effect upon hitting level 18? I'll design jam on these with you! * Icons are a decent idea, but making 145 icons (and counting) is pretty brutal, and competes with other icons that a player might want to use instead. The pain point there is that if you love the Evelynn champie icon (me) but you want to flex your Eternals progress, you have a difficult decision to make. * We've actually talked about recalls before. This one is promising, because we likely wouldn't use it for too many other purposes, and it works on your champ regardless of the skin you choose. Dig it! Would just need to be careful to not make this gameplay-impacting or damage clarity. * Loading Screen flair is another interesting idea, but Eternals on the back of the loading screen player card kind of serve that need. We could maybe make those entries fancier somehow? * Interesting idea on the ward! I think you run into the same problem as icons, but I like the "right to use" concept you have. * Level up effect is interesting, but I worry about gameplay clarity for this. Especially since so many lanes can ultimately be won by a level 3 all-in (*cough* Talon *cough*) or hitting 6 and flash ult-ing, we should be cautious about how we approach this one. Great stuff!

I wanna say that I actually really like having personal bests. In the Nasus example, it'd be nice to have both the incremental "get x stacks in a game [1/100 complete]" type mission as well as tracking your PB for highest stacks, ever. I like that the former makes you feel good for consistently doing well, but as someone who's performed a lot of activities with PB records (like running!!), I really value it, even if it takes weeks, months just to improve your PB by 1%. I hope you don't do away with it entirely. I also wanna say, as a player, it'd be great if there was some way for us to formally suggest more things. I think some are pretty okay ({{champion:61}} hit 3+ people with ult is very obvious/trite, but is a great skill-bases statistic!), but having things like "x number of kills" is pretty lame for the purpose of a progression system, even if it's a stat that is perfectly neat to see on its own. It's cool seeing people suggestions being passed along, but that's for just one Champion, and all that. Honestly I can tell there has been a lot of work put into it, but I get the impression a lot of that was work technical, experimental, and about creating Eternals as a product, rather than making individual Eternals. It's like when Chromas were launched: a bunch of them coming out very quickly because THE TECHNOLOGY IS FINALLY THERE, but they're all simple pallet swaps. Compared to now, where they always feature different designs&patterns and occasionally go as far as new ambient VFX (seriously, shout out to the Chroma team and how far they've come, mad respect). When I see simple Eternals, that's the impression I get. All that is to say I appreciate the work! Eternals, systemically, are already really cool and I'm excited for them! But even on my favorite Champions, the individual product is a bit lackluster. I don't think I'd spend money on them just yet. People have already suggested rewards that I'd love; I don't have anything to add. For me, Eternals are their own reward honesty; new forms of Player Expressions are EXCITING to me--all recently we got Little Legends, the Arena Skins, and now Eternals, and I love all of it, at least as products if not for how they're distributed/monetized (no Arena Skins for sale yet...). So having any of those rewards would be cool. Wanna say I agree that Ward Skins/Icons would be harsh for me; I'll use myself as an example. I LOVE Lux. Generally, I use Elementalist because I love it so much. I also use the Elementalist Ward Skin to match my skin. I like matching my Skin&Ward Skin, so I might not use a Ward Skin I get from Eternals. Heck, Lux already HAS a ward skin of her wand, and Star Guardian, Lunar Empress, and Battle Academia all have corresponding ward skins of their own. Sufficed to say having a new "generic" one wouldn't really catch my eye. If they're totally generic like the eSpirts foam-finger Ward Skins, it'd be even more disappointing. I use an Elementalist icon as well, because I love that skin so much. So for me, there's a good chance I wouldn't use either of those.
: Yup. I don't agree with the "personal bests" philosophy. I certainly think getting a personal best merits a little something, but having it as the main sell leaves the product lacking. It's why I advocate for a quest/milestone based system, with long-term goals that do eventually have a conclusion (unless they get looped with some BE rewards). Because while you cannot beat that 35 kills in one game, if you get a long-term quest that is to get 2000 kills on your champion, you can make measurable progress every game without feeling like you've peaked forever.

Because while you cannot beat that 35 kills in one game, if you get a long-term quest that is to get 2000 kills on your champion, you can make measurable progress every game without feeling like you've peaked forever. I like having both personal bests and long-term goals. I'm a runner, and both beating my personal best times AND seeing noticeable improvements in my overall health are both rewarding in their own ways. I can't tell you how exciting it is when you KNOW you're close to beating your records. Can you imagine sitting at 27 kills, knowing your best is 30? I can totally imagine my chest filling with that acidic adrenaline. But having long-term goals is also great! Even the very simple Missions we've had are fun to me; seeing a number going up is nice. Having it tied to more specific tasks for each champion, instead of generic things like "kills", etc., would be much more rewarding, as well. Although balancing the difficulty of them could be hard! How hard it is to hit someone with Lux's Q through minions vs rooting someone with Jhin's W, for example; you can't just make both of them have milestones at "Root enemies 1,000 times" because the difficulty of doing those things is different for each champ, even on similar mechanics--to say nothing of all the TOTALLY DIFFERENT mechanics out there. If you want Eternal milestones to all take roughly the same amount of time, then you have to be meticulous about those numbers.

You guys ever internally think about utilizing custom games more? Plenty of folks would be very happy even if map types are optional Downloads. I know a lot of folks will want TT and Dominion back and this might be a good option. Has Riot ever thought about it? I can pretty much guarantee that we have. Do I know the reasons for why we haven't so far? I don't unfortunately :X. Riot is a big place, and not everyone knows everything about everything sadly. However, if I were to guess (and I cannot emphasize that I'm guessing here enough), I'd say that it gets tricky about releasing custom maps and modes as well as how far we can support them since those features are heavily resource intensive, and unlike other games with those features, our feature set constantly needs updating and balancing which exponentially increases upkeep cost. Theres also the added concern around what the tech can allow. Thats a whole black box I'm unfamiliar with (but I'm learning! :D)
Bugtesting was also cited for the removal of TT. For example, if you release a new champion who interacts with walls *in any way* ({{champion:246}} {{champion:266}} {{champion:141}} {{champion:142}} {{champion:516}} {{champion:497}} {{champion:518}} {{champion:350}} {{champion:80}} {{champion:145}} {{champion:555}}), then you need to test that against the geometry over *the entirety of every single map*.

I agree; she looks perfectly decent, her VO is in-line with her character and makes no references to old lore; dunno why OP is including her, unless they are under the impression she's no longer meant to be a seductress. She doesn't need any updates for awhile.

As a person with a lot of spare time (+ wasting it usually in LoL) and the willingness to grind for those items over weeks it's a beneficial situation for me. I feel we are getting too many Prestige Edition skins and my problems with how they mess up thematics a lot of the time, but in general I actually like the idea of buying a pass and grinding for one really rare skin. It's just that, if I don't want to grind for that skin, it instead feels like I'm forced to spend money to participate *at all*, since just 1 Chroma is 300 tokens, one Orb is 200 tokens, and every event gives us only 300 without the pass. I also preferred having more missions and getting rewards for completing all of them; these last two events are basically identical. 2/3 Missions given out each week for four weeks, on top of how same-y the Event Crafting has gotten since Worlds last year.

They are marketing it as such, but do you seriously believe that? None of the mechanics or systems are the same except stats, which have been simplified to include only stats that you can find in just about any game. In terms of gameplay, they have as much in common with each other as they do Pokémon.

I also like CCGs, so randomness is not an issue to me. Many CCG tournaments are played round-robin; the point is not to win every match, because that's impossible when randomness is involved. The point is to improve your odds as much as possible. The best card players are fighting over a +1% winrate. A full season of TFT games, similarly, allows the best players to show it by improving their win percentage. Getting bad draws, you can still mitigate your loss. Getting good draws still requires you to take advantage of it with a solid game-plan. These points are the skill expression of TFT. Also, liking NB and TFT is not zero-sum. I like both, and I want to play both in the future.

I remember they expressly stopped doing them because people felt they were required to pay to participate in the missions, since so much of it was locked behind a paywall. That's why Star Guardian 2017 and PROJECT: Hunters didn't have them. In general, making every event Pass-focused with a Prestige Skin as the ultimate grinding reward is very tiring. And here I was glad they stopped doing Golden chromas and did unique ones for each event; somehow the events are *more* same-y than before.
: I'm a little late to the party, but his point is that if you're already honor 5 (as of right now, for example), then the system already gave you the skin you were missing. Thus, you won't get a token when 9.16 arrives. I think there's a chance you can submit a ticket to Riot Support to see if they can help with this, but I think this is somewhat bad planning on Riot's end. These plans should have been implemented and in place prior to anyone reaching honor 5.
Ah, I see. But the "system" did not give you the skin you were missing; they were granted through random drops. Some people got both in 2017, for example, and some people still have gotten neither. The token is being granted through an entirely separate mechanism. In other words, they would have to *manually* check your account to see if you own those skins and when you earned them, and then *manually* take your account out of the list who already have Honor 5, which would be a pretty big waste of their time considering there are certainly thousands of people, with the list growing each day.
: The mention is in comparison to his NORMAL skins. Dragon looks almost like a new ultimate skin.
I'm telling you right now that every skin he gets from now on is going to have bright effects like Dragon Oracle. That's the nature of Epic skins. Again, this is more modern, so if you think it looks better in general that would make sense, but in terms of features it's still not comparable. One day Even Elementalist Lux is going to look stiff in comparison to Epic skins; technology and developer skill are only going to go up, after all. That doesn't mean Elementalist suddenly lacks all the features that make it an Ultimate skin; still has changing forms, new VO, new animations, etc.. The fact those things don't hold up to modern quality don't mean they are no longer a thing. Skins DO NOT get updates.
: SG Udyr is like 2016. And it is appealing. That's the problem. Unlike other Udyr skins of the time, it offered a story, and each form didn't look flat and dull; it looked vibrant. Most new skins for champs like MF or Ezreal and definitely in Lux's case, were designed NOT to outshow the Ultimate skins (until lately for Ezreal). None of Lux's post ult skins have been better than her Elementalist. Lunar looks like a weak copycat. Academy has flat singular effects. Ezreal's was just so early they didn't really make a good skin. Udyr was the first success. I do agree with an Udyr VGU, but it's going to be hard to update SG in a way that beats Dragon enough for the price disparity even then.
> Lunar looks like a weak copycat. Don't get why people say this. If you can't tell the difference between real-life-Chinese and fantasy style clothing just because they both have something on their shoulders, I don't know what to tell you. >Academy has flat singular effects. The effects are flat, yes, but that's on purpose and I like it. What do you mean by "singular", though? Have no idea what you mean by that one.
: Does anyone else feel the new Udyr skin trivializes his Ult skin?
>Bright, aura-like effects with extremely customized features. Isn't this true of ALL Epic skins, though? The only real difference for Udyr is the fact that his abilities have to be the same color across different skins, like Sona, but I don't see you claiming that Odyssey makes Arcade obsolete because it's "too similar". The actual modelling and particles on the Dragon Oracle effects are shaped quite differently from Spirit Guard, Spirit Guard has new animations & VO, and Spirit Guard has effects that grow as you put levels into them instead of remaining static like Dragon Oracle.

: Her story is beautiful. She abandoned her humanity, but at the same time, she claimed her freedom. Her father was too strict, always trying to hide her at home, forbidding her to follow her curious nature and learn about the world. Let's admit it, the key he installed for her lungs even went so far to try to _force_ Orianna to stay at home. She still loved her father and wanted to save him with her heart, but at the same time, she threw away who she used to be, allowing herself to live her own life. Even if this means that she now has to find a new place for her to belong to, in a world she always just heard stories of.
I loved how diligently she worked for the sake of others, her father included. She clearly cares about people, even at the point where she was arguably already "too far gone" from her old self.
: Just going over his kit from what I saw here: **[Q]**: Throws his Spear in a Linear Skillshot. This is a channeled ability & Pantheon can move, similar to how Pyke can channel his hook. **[W]**: Looks unchanged **[E]**: Similar to his old [E], except he puts up his shield & can move. **[R - Grand Starfall]** : Hybrid between Galio's Ulti & His own Ulti. Slams down like a meteor & creates a shockwave. So far, I'm really digging what they gave to Pantheon. They took out one of the things that made him unfun to play against (No more point & click spears) and his ganks are going to be so god-like. High Hopes so far, hopefully he lives up to his hype once he lands on PBE later this week.
I don't think saying it's a hybrid of Galio's and his own ult is accurate; Galio's ult is more similar to the current one, actually, since they're both just large circular hard CC, with one of them being targeted and the other not. Saying the new one is more like Galio's ult isn't correct.

: Let us all take a moment to remember this was a thing. The 2015 Season login screen. https://i.ytimg.com/vi/w3GPB1bC-uo/maxresdefault.jpg I used to be able to find a closeup screenshot of Pantheon's exposed ass in that login screen, but it doesn't turn up on the search results anymore.

: Kind of frustrated by the fact I've had honor five every year but I didn't get either the first year so I don't get a chroma despite being honorable :( Feels like extra salt in the wound of missing out due to rng in the first place.
To be clear, you can choose to get a chroma for the skin you own OR the other skin. I ageee it sucks that it was up to RNG; I play a lot so I got both and assumed everyone would automatically get a Capsule with them before the season ended. Bummed when I heard that wasn't the case earlier this year.
: aww i wish i could've gotten both thanks riot tho
Since you get only 1 chroma, and they'll be adding 2 each year, guess you can't get all of them for both champs. Which honestly isn't a big deal to me and probably most people, but that one random guy who loves Twitch and Warwick more than anyone else will be bummed!
Sukishoo (NA)
: >We'll add new chromas for these skins each season to keep the rewards coming. Why not add new skins to the honor system?
I like the new chromas; I also agree that new skins would be cool and hope they do that at some point. For example, the skin you get for earning a certain Rank is different each year, so it'd be cool if Honor rewards introduced a new champ each year, as well. (To be perfectly clear I'm not trying to imply they should be Limited)
Møt (NA)
: If you were unlucky (only have one skin) and hit Honor 5 early (which should be a good thing) you lose out on the ability to choose between the chroma and the other skin? Feels like I'm being punished for getting honored...
"Your 2019 Honor 5 capsule will contain an Honor 5 token that can be redeemed for Medieval Twitch, Grey Warwick, or one of these new chromas (if you already own the base skin). If Twitch is your one true love, you can go right for his new chroma instead of picking up Grey Warwick!" You can get the chroma instead of the other skin if you prefer. It should've been stated more outright, I suppose.

: Your assessment of Hearthstones RNG is completely wrong. First off, just because it only has 30 cards, compared to a card game like Magic that has 60, doesn't mean that there is less RNG. If you compare the two, 30 cards of duplicates means that there are 15 different cards that may be selected at any one time. Whereas in magic, while you have 60 cards, nearly half of those is land, the remaining cards can have up to 4 copies. So from that perspective, Magic has less RNG. However, the card-drawing mechanic of Hearthstone is the LEAST of the RNG element. Magic has NO RNG beyond the card drawing. Whereas in Hearthstone, many cards have RNG built in. For everything from what can attack, how much damage they deal, to whom they deal it, to entire effects being completely randomized. When you literally have no way on knowing if playing a card is the right plan, even IF you knew your opponents cards AND the cards and their locations in both decks, THAT'S RNG to the extreme. Which is what Hearthstone delivers. The OP is completely correct in his assertion that too much RNG ruins games for players that are looking to win through skill.
>Magic has NO RNG beyond the card drawing There are lots of cards that use dice and coin flips, no? And some that require you to make a blind choice, which isn't actually random but certainly isn't something you can deliberately plan.
: TFT just reminded me why I quit Hearthstone
You could've just shortened this to "I don't like card games"; it's never about individual wins or losses, it's about squeezing out the smallest percentage difference you can. That's respectable taste but it's disheartening to see people completely misunderstand that. It's normal for the top players in ~given card game~ to win around 54% of games in a round-robin style tournament, and this is no different, except instead of a closed tourney you're looking at the win percentage over a season of games. RNG gives interesting moments to individual games, which is the purpose, and it's totally true that there are uniwinnable games because of it. But if you're actually good, that'll be reflected in your percentage over the whole season.

: can we get more emote slots?
I want separate Emote pages! So I can have all my {{champion:518}} emotes ready when I play her, without having to swap them in and out before each match!

Yeah, the whole part about hunger made me think that yordles dont need to eat in bandle, even if they do. I mean, cupcakes are still a thing after all... Right?
Yep, but no one knows where they come from... {{champion:117}}
: Which one is tastier in the world of Runeterra, mangos or pineapples?
MMM I could go for some peaches tho {{champion:145}}
: I choose to abuse my position of perceived power and state that mangoes are tastier in Runeterra. So there.
I'm glad we've left out frivolities like "personal taste", obviously mangoes are objectively better tasting, glad League canon matches IRL canon.

: Anybody else excited for Fiddlesticks rework?
Only thing I'm bummed about is that I like his current color story, which will definitely get replaced. Probably by something more awesome, but still!

: Meanwhile, on the other end, me as the Morde with Yuumi on me as I walk into the enemy hoping to R someone to avoid getting shredded: "Please get onto someone else so I can ult, please get onto someone else so I can ult..." You can't just leave the kitty to die.
Just remember ping that ult and ping Yuumi (Alive)

Literally anything but Championship, please. {{champion:163}}

: Riot hard buffs Lux, she gets a prestige. Riot hard buffs Pyke, he gets a legendary.
What is this logic? Lux didn't get ANY changes, buffs or otherwise, for around a YEAR before the Prestige Edition. And Aftershock wasn't even in heavy rotation until after that event, as well. And I don't know where you were seeing r/Lux asking for nerfs. And again, as usual, lets ignore all the other skins coming gout irrespective of buffs, or those coming out around nerfs, or all the buffs happening without a skin release at all. Logic.

: That isn't even what it means. It means that social activities drain you and solitary activities recharge you. It's not necessarily about enjoyment, but just about which takes more energy and effort. Introverts who exclusively enjoy social activities and hate being alone are rare, but they exist, and it sucks to be them. It would be like absolutely hating sleep; whether or not you enjoy it, though, you still need it.

It would be like absolutely hating sleep; whether or not you enjoy it, though, you still need it. This! I'm an ambivert who spent most of my life without friends, so most of my hobbies are solitary activities. Being stuck at home for too long leaves me super depressed, but I'm FAR from disliking being alone.

: Love the Draven and Sona comic. Pretty much what happens when I play adc with my SO (she's the Sona player). XD {{sticker:draven-pose}} {{sticker:sona-playing}}
My friend and I play Draven & Sona as well, I love it

: How sad is your champion (professional, scientific, objectively true)?
> Orianna - 0/10 (4/10); Orianna is similar to Blitzcrank, but her existence is more melancholy. She still has her father with her Orianna left home, never to return. She does not have her father.

: Wait what? When was the trans thing revealed? I feel like there would have been some sort of community reaction to that sort of thing and I don't remember that.
I want to point out that Neeko hints at Taliyah behing trans in-game. I think it's unreasonable to say "Taliyah definitely isn't trans" but there's a reasonable doubt either way. Also yeah, there WAS a community reaction, and quite a bit of it was negative or dismissive of the idea. Which I also think is a step too far beyond "there's no definitive proof".

I don't think there was controversy on her lore, but more so that DZK considered having Taliyah originally be transgender, but scrapped the idea during development. People found out about it and has caused a bit of discussion and even controversy on Twitter and reddit(mainly taliyahmains subreddit).

People found out about it and has caused a bit of discussion and even controversy on Twitter and reddit(mainly taliyahmains subreddit). Neeko references it in-game, as well. To be clear, it is a reference, not an explicit statement.

: Levels 200, 250, 300, 350, 400 all guve a gemstone. Then levels 425, 450, 475, 500, 525, 550, 575, 600 etc.
I think the stuff past 500 gives only one every 50 as well actually, since they set that up as the generic level-up reward until they manually implement the rewards for those level (500 is the highest unique rewards you can get, i.e. border & emote). At least, according to the Wiki.
: I just got a gemstone from A LEVEL UP capsule, most of the time I get champ shards.
Starting at level 150, you get a Gemstone every 50 levels. Starting at level 400, you get one every 25 levels.

: Save some time and energy, be toxic, be free. Still remember when Riot used to say that toxic players were the minority, 0.0...%. Finding players with honor frames is like finding a shiny Pokémon.
Really? I see multiple almost every game.
: How is PROJECT Pyke priced at 1820 when he reuses all of the base skin animations?
>This is also the reason why he has chromas, because none of the animations or rigs are new How are those two things related at all? Chroma team is separate from skins team, and they exclusively work on textures. Animations don't factor into their production in any way.
