: Ask a Heimerdinger Main (feat. Heisendong & lolGunSlinger)
In your experience, what is the biggest difference between low-elo and high-elo players in regards to playing as/against Heimerdinger?
Dataless (NA)
: One of the reasons I love {{champion:432}} so much. No ego.
The ego is built into the people that main him /s

: That currently happens, and it's not a big deal. You don't declare your champ, it's your fault if it gets banned.
I agree, but when I do declare my champ, trolls ban it _because you declare it_ just so they can annoy you. Just trying to give the other perspective here.
: 10 bans now live in Ranked
I feel sorry for all those Yasuo mains. My condolences, even if the champion you play is annoying to play against.

Well, humans are pretty dumb tbh. I don't blame her...
Ohmei (NA)

Just a ton of fake patch notes? I'd say a better april fools prank would be to actually do something like disable {{summoner:4}} for a few days and use that also as a measure to just see how the reaction is and if the reaction results in something super effective like making alot of 'broken champions' end up becoming alot weaker or even early game snowball B.S. champions not work as well as much to where people have to actually replan strategies since they can't be using Flash anymore for EZ escape or EZ kill secures anymore, since people will have a 'norm slot' free to have more flexible options like {{summoner:21}} to counter the divers, {{summoner:6}} to actually make use of more often as a better 'long term chase/escape tool' or even have {{summoner:1}} return especially if it can cleanse stuff like {{champion:7}} 's mark, {{champion:64}}'s mark, etc. Seriously, i'd love to see how the pace of LoL would become if {{summoner:4}} even got removed for just a day.
The problem with this suggestion is that every champion with mobility would dominate even more than before. In other words, all of the "cancer" champions from before would get stronger. I like the idea though.

: question to you, dear sir, how do I, as another player who is not necessarily playing a skirmisher, make you, as a fiora player, to burn riposte incorrectly ? is it something that I can force out of you, or is it you making an error?
Baiting out the Riposte is something that anybody with crowd control can do by simply walking up as if you're going to attack. Indeed, it is an error on the part of the Fiora playing it. Like I said before, Fiora is entirely a skill matchup between the two players almost all of the time.
: It's the same cancerous champs over and over
I honestly think that Fiora doesn't belong on the list. As a person who has played a fair amount of her, there's a heck of a lot of counterplay that you can use to outplay her. A good portion of the time, fighting against her is a skill matchup. The trick to playing against her is baiting her Riposte out early and utilizing the vital resets. Also, there are certain champions who go up against her pretty well early on in the early game.
: You're problem doesn't revolve around new players it revolves around toxic users then Toxic users don't hold their tongue, everyone then is equally treated by them the same
I think you've misunderstood me. I never thought the problem was new players specifically, I just believe that the toxic users are discouraging players that are trying to get into the game. Glad we're on the same page though.
: > [{quoted}](name=LordSirChipmunk,realm=NA,application-id=ZGEFLEUQ,discussion-id=EFEK7wMd,comment-id=00000000,timestamp=2017-03-04T00:50:04.531+0000) > > I'm glad somebody is having the same experiences as me. It shows that my post was relevant and relatable. Thanks. But I've never witnessed anything like people being more critical of my moves the deepest it gets is (Champ name)? gg is not toxicity in a general sense good game Lets be honest ranked is an environment where you're suppose to make as few mistakes as possible, waiting for your opponent to make a mistake and you to capitalize on it If someone is new, they're getting no special treatment from anyone nor are any of the old players(woo season 1) That is equality At the same time, you should not expect people to hold your hand and tell you its okay to make mistakes in ranked If you know you lack the skill to win ranked play, practice practice practice the more you do, the less likely people will point out your mistakes as you will make far fewer
"Good game" should typically not have a negative connotation, but in this sense, the community has ruined the phrase. Around half of the time, saying "gg," especially very early on in the game, implies that you are giving up on the game and that it's already won or lost in the first few minutes. What do you think would happen if a famous football team or soccer team essentially said that the game was won or lost in the first few minutes? That would be considered poor sportsmanship among most people, and this is the same thing with League of Legends, regardless of how much the game snowballs. Also, I'm not saying that criticism and being treated equally regardless of experience are bad things. It just discourages the newer players from continuing to play simply because of the toxicity. I'm not expecting people to "hold your hand" in any way. All I ask is that instead of saying "kys noob" or "gg" in the first few minutes of a game, we say "That wasn't exactly the best thing you could have done" or "That was a game-costing blunder." In schools, I believe they call it "constructive criticism."

: having just finished my placements, i find this statement to be very true. ranked is a horrible dank dark depressing little hole in which the worst of people come out from, when it comes to league of legends normal matches draft to blind are for the most part alright. someone might call out on your mistake you might fight about it and shake hands afterwords. ranked? ranked is a whole nother beast, not playing the way someone likes? "your trash." not calling out your lane because you are trying to focus on wave clear to save your tower? "you're garbage." not coming to a teammates ping even though they rushed into something like the enemy jungle and are not being 2 or 3 v 1? "you're a idiot" you want to group together while someone is having a bad time and has a stick up the bum? "i'm not grouping with him they're noobs." this pretty much sums up my ranked experience, including someone telling me to not even bother finishing my last 2 placement games. yeah i'll admit i'm not the best at the game, but give me a team that wants to work together and knows to be supportive and we could probably pull off a great victory. sadly the ranked community is not all like that and more often then not you are going to run into people who want to be nothing but complete assholes. which is why i often tell players who play like normal draft is ranked to take their shit to ranked. but i suppose that they trained themselves to be in that mind set 24/7 after being placed i stopped playing ranked. i was a shaking mess and considering that i've already got enough stressing me out i didn't need to try to climb the ranked ladder and have that stressing me out as well.
I'm glad somebody is having the same experiences as me. It shows that my post was relevant and relatable. Thanks.

Well, since the icon for Jhin actually just pastes a little sneaky "champion:202" in there, you could have just copied the amount of Jhin faces in the post and pasted them into a Word document to see if I was lying. That's what I did to double-check my work. You also could have just counted the number of rows and multiplied them by the number of columns. In other words, you just wasted your time. {{champion:202}} {{champion:202}}{{champion:202}}{{champion:202}}

: Yeah I wouldn't wanna be a new player now because there is no tip in game that says in bold capital letters to MUTE EVERYONE IN GAME TO ENJOY THE GAME lol That should seriously be a tip for newbies. LoL is the number 1 moba with the most toxic people so this is necessary.
I'm a relatively new player, (I've been playing for a little over a year now) and I found that because I was not as good as the smurfs, leveling put me up against other newbies; not anybody else. That's not to say that this isn't still an issue, though.

: To be fair that could be said for 95% of the League of Legends roster. They never take risks in their designs. In both Kits and Aesthetic there are VERY FEW that are actually unique.
What I mean is that while "plant lady" isn't the most unique concept, they could have made her a bit more unique by giving her more distinguished gameplay styles, etc. Think about Fiora for a moment. "Duelist lady with a sword" is again not the most unique of all character archetypes, but she still seems unique and fun to play because of how they designed her. Hitting Vitals and blocking Crowd Control with your Riposte are simple mechanics that make a champion that would be otherwise boring actually really interesting and fun to play. In League of Legends, not much is more satisfying than earning a well-deserved kill by hitting all 4 vitals on your ultimate at the last moment. tl;dr: A champion that doesn't have the most fresh or unique archetype can be redeemed by having engaging, distinguished mechanics and gameplay style.
: Glassdoor isn't reliable. I can sign up now, post im a ceo of Riot games and review. Glassdoor is a trash review site. Not to mention if HiRez WAS that way. There wouldn't be people that have been there since Alpha still working there. As customer service reps. Or bug testers (ESPECIALLY THIS.) if HiRez was that way. If anything HiRez is probably a better company then Riot. As ALL employees get say in everything they do. From items to actual "gods" (and skins) they create for the players. Reading these kinds of reviews are just like reading "The Earth is actually flat it's just perception" theories. Its probably fake and untrue.
: Zyra isn't really a very unique champion design either to be honest.
Well, she isn't completely original. I will say that they could have made a more fun, unique, and engaging kit, though, by making her abilities something other than "shoot out plant parts that do stuff and then make some more plants with those plant parts." A very possibly cool design partially ruined by lack of creativity IMHO.

Not to mention that "Inb4" has 4 characters in it.
: I don't mind that one... What I do hate is champ select noises :P
I think you might be able to turn that off in settings, although not sure. I've just been too lazy to turn the music off, so every time I try to listen to music in champ select, there's some extra stuff in the background that gets pretty annoying. It wasn't until today that I finally turned off lobby music so I could watch an episode of Konosuba while waiting out my friend's low priority queue.

Exactly. That's an example of abuse. Another example would be {{champion:81}} and Runeglaive or {{item:3025}} or {{champion:114}} with {{item:3748}} {{item:3071}} {{item:3742}} {{item:3065}} {{item:3111}} {{item:3026}}
I'd like to point out that Fiora typically builds Ravenous Hydra over Titanic Hydra. Also, she is _extremely_ squishy for a top lane skirmisher, so I wouldn't call buying a Guardian Angel on her "abuse." Fiora is too squishy to not build any defensive stats at all, so she needs at the very least 1 full tank item, although it is sometimes more advantageous to build 2 or even 3. In other words, I wouldn't personally call Fiora building top lane tank items "abuse," and if you do, you must consider some extenuating circumstances.
: Oh no. Riot is trying to do "clever balancing" again. Just nerf lethality. If she is still too strong merf that fucking ult damage a little. Otherwise MF is fine.
Even her ult has a lot of counter-play tbh. I think that just the Lethality nerfs will be enough.
: It'd be nice if they could somehow make the [New Player Guide](http://na.leagueoflegends.com/en/featured/new-player-guide#/?_k=8my6np) accessible from the client.
Recall that the New Player Guide has a link on the home page of the website, and you need to go to the website to download the game. I like the way you think, but most players will have seen at least a link to the guide before they download. By the time I downloaded the game, I had already figured out that I would become an Ahri main, and I knew pretty much the gist of how games were played, just from that guide. :)
: I would like to point out that the tutorial still...
I think only 4 tutorials will be needed: 1. "Game Basics" (teaches about controls and objective of the game) 2. "Basic Laning Tips" (self-explanatory) 3. "Introduction to Jungling" (I see a lot of new players saying that they don't know how/can't jungle) 4. "Advanced Stuff" (teaches about wards, Unique Passives, and other "advanced" mechanics) Trying to teach new players about the meta is jumping the gun too much. Besides, basically telling new players "you're trash if you don't play marksmen in bot lane" is going to inhibit creativity among newbies. They'll find out the meta for themselves as they keep playing. They'll find out what's advantageous for each champion and what they should build over time. When I started in the Co-op vs. AI, I pretty much figured out everything that you were supposed to build on Ahri at that time, from the list of recommended items and personal experimentation. When I realized that Rod of Ages wasn't doing me much good as a first AP item, I realized that Morellonomicon would be better as a first item for the mana it returns. Later on, I realized that it was more cost-efficient to build only one Deathcap and some other decent items instead of FIVE DEATHCAP POWER. I typically don't have that much faith in people, but they surely will figure some stuff out over time.
: I just can't play League anymore....
As much as I agree and respect your opinions, down here in normal games and Wood 5 you can't really tell a difference between all of the patches and seasons unless a new champion is very noticeably broken, like Camille was on release.
: what if vet scars worked like a very small {{champion:223}} sorta thing where taking damage gives you a grey health that regens but just very very small
That, my friend, is called a keystone mastery. They're not going to give grey health to every champion for a weak little mastery.
: I have no the issues with {{champion:157}} he's easy picking & i enjoy killing than playing his flute. Riot can leave him be. What Riot needs to do address Lethality and Battle Trance(keystone) which only applies to tank champions** especially **{{champion:420}} You can't dodge her ult EVER, lets says she's at 2%HP and you went in full health, her ult automatically creates 3 tentacles & than you are dead {{sticker:slayer-pantheon-rainbows}} Once that address than we can go back to OP {{champion:245}} again which he's just right like {{champion:114}} {{champion:19}} {{champion:5}} {{champion:56}}
> What Riot needs to do address Lethality and Battle Trance(keystone) which only applies to tank champions** especially **{{champion:420}} You can't dodge her ult EVER, lets says she's at 2%HP and you went in full health, her ult automatically creates 3 tentacles & than you are dead {{summoner:4}}
: You really didn't play any HiRez games. Yes their balancing is AWFUL. However THEY GET RIGHT ON IT. If it was something like lethality, they would have rolled back and apologized for how stupid overpowered it was. HiRez company is way better than Riot, not to mention they do in between patch surveys that they ALWAYS use. Every patch is from feedback. So yea... No. HiRez is EXTREMELY better as a game balancing company... and designer for a moba.
Perhaps at game balance, but if we're talking about actual employee morale and Glass Door reviews, it seems that Hi-Rez is a less pleasing work environment for their employees, from what I've read.
: Riot is a trash-tier company masquerading at company made of of competent people
Believe it or not, Hi-Rez Studios is actually worse. I haven't played enough of their games to say that they're good or bad in terms of game balance (although I get the impression that they're bad. However, if you look at their reviews of Glass Door, they as a company with employees seem to not be very good at managing, whereas Riot actually has decent reviews from employees.
: it's a pretty dumb item, called it the second i saw it added on pbe. if its intention is to be an anti-CC item and not an anti-assassin item, why not just make the active a CC immunity instead of blocking everything? for example: 100% tenacity for 1/1.5 seconds although their intentions don't make much sense, if they wanted an item for assassins to not be blown up by CC why not just make another item with the QSS active that has lethality instead of life steal?
Well, the problem with making another QSS item is that it takes away the identity of Mercurial Scimitar. Give it another active similar to QSS in function, but not identical. Think about how the Titanic and Ravenous Hydras are different in both stats and their passive, despite doing the same exact thing with the passive and building out of Tiamat.
SiG DxD (EUNE)
: open mid /ggez should be bannable for few days
That makes no sense. If one thinks that the outcome of something is unfavorable, then why do it? If the player is fully disregarding the team's plans and is taking farm from the mid laner, then you already can report for that already, but just simply having a disagreement about what the team should be doing is not worthy of a report. Some people have opinions that are different than your own, and that's okay as long as they're not being a jerk about it.
Xeruon (NA)
: Just an idea: Max Traps: 3 / 3 / 4 / 4 / 5 -> 3 / 4 / 5 / 6 / 7 Trap Placement Range: 800 -> 175 Headshot Damage Increase: 30 / 70 / 110 / 150 / 190 (+ 70% AD) -> 15 / 45 / 135 / 270 / 330 (+ 40 / 50 / 60 / 70 / 80% AD) Root Duration: 2s -> 1.5s / 1.7s / 2s / 2.5s / 2.7s Trap on-target cooldown: 0 -> 7/6/5/4/3 Trap Duration: 90s - > 70s / 80s / 90s / 95s / 100s Trap Recharge Time: 45 / 32.5 / 20 / 12.5 / 10 -> 55 / 37.75 / 25.5 / 18.5 / 15 Traps only last 10s under turrets.
It's an interesting idea, but there's one problem with it. The range on her traps is going to make them near obsolete, as placing a trap in lane would amount to a massive amount of poke from enemy laners.
