So misleading. Nautilus has a 25% ban rate, gets picked 3 times as much as Janna and the statistical difference between 1st and 8th is approximately 0.9 win %. With a whopping ban rate of 0.4% Janna is only picked 160,000 times compared to Nautilus 510,000 times. The only supports with more picks than Nautilus are Morgana, Senna and Thresh. The more picks a champion has, the statistical probability is to fall towards the mean. I think your post proves the opposite of what you were intending it to. Adding up the ban rate of the champions that you listed totals up to a whopping 2.1% collectively.

The other thing to keep in mind is that you used to and usually did upgrade the gold item to Tier 2 far earlier than it is now naturally evolving on it's own, so there is a pretty significant period of time where you will be losing relative gold because you are generating reduced support gold for a longer period of time.

Six extra gold a minute isn't a strong trade off for having the primary spigot of your gold turned off and this is being justified by a free upgrade into what has always been (and still is) a pretty low impact item. The sacrifice of the CDR seems like it would effect certain builds and champions with disparity. You aren't trying to maximize your gold anymore as a support; it has this kind of well, I'll get there when I get there thing going on; I'll just execute these caster cuz they are here and it's good enough.

Every support gets 1000 extra gold and then your gold generation goes completely flatline. It is very unattractive game design. And to compensate, we get 6 extra gold a minute. 10 minutes of gameplay, and you don't even have enough extra gold income to buy a vision ward. The only thing that makes sense to play now are hook champions, because that is the only way to stay relevant throughout the game. Using a relic shield over a spell-thief makes you hit that poaching limit way sooner, too.

I used to like to play League and I used to like to watch League. Then I only liked to watch League. Now, that Sylas is in the game, I don't even like to watch it anymore. He should be either removed from the game, completely reworked, or at the very least, banned from competitive play. So many champions have a huge swath of their power budget wrapped up in their ultimate, and this dude with a AP scaling shield, dash, stun and self heal can just steal them with a point and click ability and an 8 second cooldown? If he actually had to use his dash and shield to get close to steal it, that would be one thing, but with a 1050 range he can pretty much just take whatever he wants on a drive-by. That's not really ok and it's not really good for the game, either. I wanted to throttle the shoutcasters everytime they jizzed their screen because of some Sylas "outplay".

Ghostcrawler can make a reasonable analysis of a situation, but something goes wrong in the implementation of it. I haven't enjoyed WoW more since he left Blizzard and LoL has definitely been trending in the wrong direction. I hate to place the blame on a guy who I can agree with most of the time, but time and experience spent playing a game speaks louder than just text and analysis on a screen.

Rune system was changed because too many old players were leaving the game anyways while keeping too many new players from participating. Or at least that was what the hope would have been. I like the culture around League's E-sports scene, but as far as actually playing a game of it: I haven't done more than just log on and putz in a few custom practice games just to try and see if I still felt like investing time in the game is worth it. Friends list is empty now and I just don't feel the magic is there for me anymore. It's not like I'm playing another MOBA; I'm playing different genres. I think Riot really set a bad precedent with their reworks while simultaneously exacerbating the issue by releasing ever more unmanageable champion concepts. A champion's success is now determined, whether by rework or release, their likelihood of being picked in a competitive game. League has gotten so big that it feels like they no longer have the ability to have both a successful game and a successful E-sports, but maybe I'm just reading too much in to it. I think the rune rework and the goofy jungle plants hanging around for another season is probably what personally sapped my interest, but obviously it was already starting to go prior to that otherwise those alone wouldn't have been enough for me to quit.

I don't think it's so much that Riot is trying to get you a loss as it is trying to get other people a win. It's an aspect to matchmaking that is quite frustrating as a support main because once you get an ADC that doesn't trade well or last hit well you have to shift your focus from winning lane to not losing the game. If the enemy jungler gets any kind of advantage anywhere else on the map... good luck!

Ears like that could also allow for better hearing or positional awareness. I think the people asking for Janna to be reworked haven't been paying attention to the general trend that Riot has gone with their reworks. They may turn her shield into a skill shot but it will end up slowing everyone around the recipient of it and her howling gale will be ground targeted like a Rumble ult.

In the past, Janna's high win rate hasn't been accompanied by as high of a pick rate as it is now. But yes, Riot has gotten way too cute with support itemization. When you have a jungler building support items and a Janna, that 3 or 4 item ADC with the crit and the lifesteal is going to feel like a raid boss.

Riot has been nerfing Janna's "Hidden Power" since Season 1. After all these years, I'm surprised that she has any hidden power left. I would have thought everyone knows what she does. Watching the LCS recently, the Pros certainly seem to be more interested in champions with power that comes in a less hidden format; like Thresh... Why Janna has a high win rate is because of a variety of things, and I can guarantee you that none of it is all that well hidden. 1) Coin gives too much gold for an item that allows for such passive early gameplay; and that later only relies on showing up in lane with a big creep wave. Janna is very fast but all supports should be building mobis. 2) ADCs have too much built in sustain early on that makes it hard to punish Janna's ADC thoroughly enough to gain an early game advantage. 3) ADC itemization is very strong right now; Ardent Censer wasn't nerfed meaningfully. 4) The way these new items all stack together. If the jungler has Knight's Vow, the ADC has Death's Dance or Phantom Dancer + Guardian Angel, and there is a Janna building/playing entirely to keep that ADC alive; you are going to have to find a way to win early if your support/team comp isn't capable of itemizing the same way. If they wanted to hit Janna specifically, reducing the cast range of her shield is probably the way to do it, since she wouldn't be able to play so far behind the back lines as she does. But you would have to seriously consider not having her lose her passive speed boost for casting W- a squishy champion with mobis shouldn't become a sitting duck for actually utilizing her kit. I'd honestly wait for ADCs to get put into a "good spot" before I think any major nerfs to Janna would be warranted. Probably more than any other champion in the game, Janna relies on a strong ADC to justify her existence and everyone seems to think that ADCs are out of balance right now.

I definitely think you are going to see teams flexing this guy to the support role to take advantage of his upgraded items to secure late game advantages and maybe even allow early game comps scale and compete better in the late game. His utility is going to be strong enough that meta ADCs like Jhin and Varus and Caitlyn are going to find a lot of success when paired with him. We'll see how they decide to treat wards; but Riot may feel that having to go back to buy both wards AND potions is no passive at all; especially in the LCS scene (which seems to be what Riot is designing champions for.) It'll be interesting to see if opposing teams skew early game to win fast before his upgraded items impact the game or if they reinforce late game to stay competitive.

This global upgrade you are introducing is going to be a balancing nightmare; especially since you are going to be seeing this guy flex (dominate) in the support role. Early upgrade to Nomad's for sweet cash? Sounds good. Bang out a pink ward on demand? Sounds useful. He's got plenty of CC and utility to support his laner too. Support Ornn with heavy wave clear comps is definitely going to be a thing. It's going to be hard to dive him too, because he can create blocking terrain and just run into his own tower to do an AoE knockup. Then you combine his ability to break walls and Taliyah is a meta pick... even a lot of Jarvan lately... I mean, you know this guy is going to be a huge support pick? Ornn paired with like Varus is going to be a big deal.

This is a problem with Yi's design; not Kayle's. Zilean has a stun, speed up and a revive that lets Yi run in with the same amount of impunity. Yi has always been a toxic ball of stats, but when you can combine items like Phantom Dancer with Knight's Vow, it becomes especially pronounced.

While it doesn't target Muslims specifically, to say that it isn't a majority Muslim list would be naive. He wasn't advocating for it. It wasn't his idea. I suspect the reporter asked him about it because it would be controversial. Trump basically punted on that line of questioning because he wanted to sound like he was going to be tough on terrorism while avoiding advocating for a national ID. Mosques that invite speakers with connections to radical Islam should be monitored as well as those who have connections to Americans that become radicalized, and you would be naive to think that that is not already happening. It would be as naive as thinking that these big right wing militia groups with some anti-government positions are not also being monitored in the same way. Any special ID that identifies Americans by their religion would not pass Congress, regardless of party control, and would be struck down by any number of courts, up to and including the Supreme Court, regardless of political affiliation.

I should probably log in and try playing with the skin, even if this season has gotten stale. I think the gold elements need more luminescence. I could see a more vivid gradient being good. I'm much more concerned about skins that give competitive advantages. Not a fan of the Dark Star series. Star Guardian is representative of something incredibly iconic. It's a much better fit for Janna's character. Even Deep Sea Nami was thematic exploration. I always assumed Reaper Soraka was to give people who cared about not being girly a support option until Thresh was released. Kennen and Alistar are both in the meta right now and Janna still wasn't picked at worlds, so I'm not sure if Janna's competitive future should really be Riot's primary focus in designing her skins skins. Maybe she'll show up in the knockout stage. And, let's be honest, it's really about what the pros do and what everyone else does won't ultimately matter. Overall, I do like the skin. Maybe I'll even be back next season to enjoy it.

Way back in the day before Riot hired a bunch of Howard Dean surrogates to come and work for them, assassins were countered by champions with strong lane clear. LeBlanc, despite her kill pressure and silence, couldn't wave clear fast enough to go and roam and her ability to last hit under towers wasn't very strong. If she only got one or two kills on you, instead of running away with the game, it usually meant she was coming out of the lane phase even. Then Zedd enters the game. He has two forms of AoE wave clear, bonus execute damage, and LeBlanc level kill pressure and similar escape mechanics. Zedd even has energy, so making him use his abilities to farm has little impact on his ability to stay in lane. Riot even had to transfer a huge gob of power onto LeBlanc's distortion; clearly tracking the game in the wrong direction- and they have been for quite some time now. DFG removed, Duskblade added and now you have the items turned upside down, too.
