If you chose RP stakes for your tournament, then the tournament prizes would be granted in RP and/or RP exclusive rewards. If you chose BE stakes, then the tournament prizes would be BE. > > There could even be an option for a mixed stake pool, where an (less) RP and (more) BE stake amount could be set and the players could choose their preferred option (probably the BE option for most) and prizes would be drawn from the mixed pool. Ie., if 80/100 players choose to stake 10,000 BE and 20/100 stake 500 RP, then the prize pool would contain 800,000 BE and 10,000 RP from which to draw prizes from, so the #1 team might receive 50% of the pool divided by their 5 players for 80,000 BE and 1,000 RP per player. > > Essentially, when a person is setting up a tournament, they could set entry fees for RP and BE, and then they could mark whether the entry fee is AND/OR. They could also include a sponsor contribution to the prize pool from any source (ie., if Riot was sponsoring the tournament, they could contribute 5,000 RP and 30,000 BE directly to the pool if they so chose). If the fee is AND (ie., 500 RP + 0 BE for an RP-only fee) then the expected prizes (ie., 10,000 tourney credits for 1st prize) from the expected total pool based on required number of participants (ie., 40 players) would be visible to entrants. If the fee is OR, then just the running totals (of both RP and BE) for the pool and number of filled/required participant slots would be visible to entrants. > > Furthermore, the prize structure could be set up like this: > > 1 RP of prize = 1 Tourney Credit; Tourney Credits can be "cashed out" converted back 1:1 for RP, or they can be used to purchase tournament exclusive rewards. Tournament exclusive rewards could include special skins, ward skins, borders, etc. Example: Triumphant Ryze skin for 1,500 Tourney Credits + a "Triumph Token" from finishing as the #1 team or top 5 solo players in an elimination tournament. Less prestigious but still exclusive prizes would be available for Tourney Credits without the "Triumph Token" requirement. > > 10,000 BE of prize = 1 Hextech Gem(?) up to a maximum of 3 gems > Ie., 1st place 5 players = 50% prize pool/5 -30,000 BE +3 gems if sufficient prize pool; > 2nd place 5 players = 25% prize pool/5 -20,000 BE +2 gems if sufficient prize pool; > 3rd place 5 players = 15% prize pool/5 -10,000 BE +1 gem if sufficient prize pool; > runner-up 10 players = 10% prize pool/10 as BE only > > For all winners, 1 BE of remaining prize after gems deduction = 1 BE direct reward pay-out > > That's how I would set it up personally - allowing the freedom for different stake types and different prize structures. If a Rioter wants more feedback about the system I am imagining, please let me know and I can provide more details about the tourney credits, tournament structures, etc. Riot hire this man, theres a brain behind that keyboard! I actually like all of this except id have to do math to see if it works out. Sounds a little like gambling though and riot probably wouldn't go for that Maybe just give us the option not to play for rewards and just play for LP?

This is a company that utilizes a gambling style loot chest system that RP can be purchased and used on. They wouldn't implement a system that won't make them money though, remember; the house always wins.

: I nominate the Gatekeeper {{champion:43}} as the first one! Edit: should Riot go thru with this idea which I think they should 100% discuss at Hq.
The only Gatekeeper skin worthy enough for our wallets is {{champion:119}}, in memory of Fabbbyyy the gatekeeper.

: Let's take a moment and remember Riot's sense of humor
That is actually hilarious. I would love to know if the artist who did this splash sneaked it in to see if anyone would notice, or if it was on purpose. That is some next level office shenanigans if it's the former.
: Rito Game(s) strikes again
Would make more sense from a politically correct standpoint to have the ADC icon and Cinderhulk icon swapped. Remove the "nerf" on the ADC icon and you have a meme. 7/10 for effort though
: Riot are actually nerfing Cinderhulk while not nerfing a SINGLE ADC item
The thought ever occur to you that support items and front-line protection might be the reason why ADC's are so strong right now?
: You get a special reward if you report 4 bugs.

: Looking for a good Winter Car/SUV
What's your purpose for the vehicle? Daily driven to work and back? Weekend vehicle? If you want an SUV, stay the hell away from anything European. Toyota 4Runner will honestly be the absolute best purchase if you want an SUV. Fully loaded they can range from 50-60k. Good on maintenance, they look amazing, extremely roomy, and the aftermarket is pretty substantial for them if you're into modifying your vehicles. I was an automotive tech for a little over 8 years, and I repeat, stay the fuck away from Euro unless you enjoy big maintenance bills. Newer stuff is NOT worth the cost the dealers are marketing them for unless you're buying M Series or AMG models. If you're looking at buying a car, the best AWD systems on the planet are in Subarus, but do not buy one and expect to modify it unless your pockets run stupid deep. My 07' STi was the most expensive car I've ever built, and I've owned some extensively modded cars.
: Honour system turned into something that was about skill
I honored a Lux who stole a Penta from me the other day (I was playing Vayne). He wasn't performing well, but he deserved the +honor from me regardless

: Playing while semi drunk/high improves your gameplay?
I make way more mistakes stoned than I do sober, but I enjoy the game more, and ultimately tilt less when I'm stoned. I lose more than I win while stoned (normals), but I don't play ranked unless I'm sober. Not to mention it helps keep the pain at bay from my nerve disability (RSD). For the people mentioning that kids play this game; ESRB doesn't rate online games by maturity. They're gonna find out about that stuff eventually in life anyways, so educate them properly!

: If you hover/pick these champions in my ranked game, expect me to dodge.
Quinn has the highest win-rate of any champion right now. Why would you dodge if someone who mains her decides to pick her?
: Showerthought: car horns are literally irl MIA pings
Who needs a horn when you have an external wastegate?
: Add a "distance" counter to "on my way" pings

: The enemy team is two tanks, one bruiser, ADC, and Soraka. How am I supposed to function as APC?
Draft properly then? If you don't have a frontline, then you will get dove all game. If you try to frontline as any APC against a comp like that, you will die. You're Diamond, why are you complaining about stuff like this. You should know how the meta works by now, and be playing accordingly.
: Vayne Top
I'm a Vayne ADC main, and I absolutely hate people who play her top lane. PFA http://i.imgur.com/oq9cGZU.jpg?noredirect

Just to add some clarity around the "legacy" component. Neo PAX Sivir will have a chance of dropping in Loot until January 8th, 2018. If you have 10 gemstones - she'll be craftable until January 8th, 2018. _After_ that Neo PAX Sivir will be removed from Loot (no drops, no more craftable options). We may bring her back at a later point in time. PAX Sivir is an extremely rare skin. We wanted to find a way to make this skin theme available to players that weren't around "back in the day" in a way that didn't take away from the original owners. Hope this clarification helps.

This isn't the problem the OP is trying to address. Your 10 gemstone lottery for sub-par skins is the problem. People dump hundreds of dollars for a chance at something that should be 1350RP max.
: The problem is not Cho one-shotting
They could always make it deal damage over time. It is called Feast, after-all. Could have a devour effect with a 3 second ramp time (%dmg of max per sec for 3 seconds). Example would be 333 True damage every second for 3 seconds (or 2) @ x amount of stacks or something. Even having it do damage every .5 seconds for 1 second (2 ticks) would give someone time to use a CD to prevent instant death with zero counterplay. The biggest issue about his ult is a 6k+ hp cho gath that uses {{item:3193}} can proceed to walk to a carry unchecked and one shot them. He's just super strong right now even without the ult as well. I typically use my ban on him regardless if I think the other team is going to or not.
: Getting S in ranked
Actually, you lose LP based on your MMR in comparison with your current ELO (Division/Tier). If you play a game and get S-/S/S+ then your MMR actually has no negative effect, save for maybe a few points lower. It may look like you're actually losing ground due to the loss from the game, but in reality you're not losing anything at all because the next game you queue into will have the same MMR or higher due to your performance the last game you played with the S-/S/S+. MMR is calculated by a LOT of different factors, and how well you play in each game is a huge factor for gaining MMR. TL;DR - Just keep playing each game to your best and you will likely win more than you lose, along with gaining lots of MMR.
