: {{item:3091}} Why the hell do remakes count against autofill? What exactly is Riot doing?
Yeah it gets really annoying when you hit those streaks of 4-5+ remakes. You just know you're going to be the one autofilled into an off-role to make the game actually work when, 10-15 minutes before that you were sitting pretty in your main role.

A lot of us here are under the impression that we (in the United States) are perfectly free to say whatever we want, and that anywhere else is basically a 1984 style authoritarian police state. Nuance is not our forte.
: Fnatic showing how a 1st seed in a region should look like
That's for sure. If we're looking at the NA first seeds though, I mean it seems like we just keep sending teams with confidence issues in high pressure situations. Our first seeds for basically the entirety of the current worlds format have been teams with Bjergsen and/or Doublelift on them, players who seem to consistently have confidence issues at worlds where it really matters, and none in the LCS, where the stakes are a lot lower and losses are more forgiving. I mean think about it, the worlds where the first, second, AND third seeds did well was in S4, it was when we sent teams that had players willing to go balls to the wall no matter who the opponents were. Wildturtle was on TSM that year, he's a player who is aggressive often to a fault, punching above his weight class even when it gets him murdered. Amazing was also on that team, he'll probably still argue that TSM was a top 3 team at worlds that year and that they should have won. Cloud 9 had kept their S3 roster so they still had Hai in the midlane, no one would ever accuse Hai of not being confident. LMQ was that all Chinese roster with really aggressive players. TSM made it out. Cloud 9 played a tiebreaker for first. LMQ came close to getting out and gave a respectable performance. These teams built around Doublelift and Bjergsen will continue to disappoint because they've tasted defeat in the same way too many times. They don't think they can win. They hope for an easy draw in the group stage and when they're in it hope every game goes just right so that they can squeak their way out of groups as a second seed. Team Liquid did not believe for a second they could beat KT, they might say otherwise but it was obvious in their play. They were praying to whatever gods they believe in that EDG lost both games to KT, and even if they had, there was no way they were winning that game against EDG with the pressure on.

: 100 thieves
Not really embarrassed. They did the best that they were able to do with the talent they had, so I’m glad for that. Had they of lost to G-Rex that would have been really disappointing. The real embarrassments were actually TSM and Echo Fox. Had they of performed better over the past year we would have probably sent a team with the potential to do something in that group. It’s one thing to lose against teams like fnatic or IG, it’s another to lose to Clutch Gaming in a best of five or, perhaps even more embarrassing, for a team with Huni and Dardoch on it to not even be able to make top four in the summer split. I would throw spring split Cloud 9 in there as well but they only lost to TL in the playoffs so I won’t really hold that against them too much.
: Quick Notes: Moving the NA LCS start time
You guys really need to separate NALCS or EULCS, this is getting ridiculous. They're different regions, and for the most part have different viewers, treat them as such. They should be competing for viewers, not one getting some extra out of charity from the larger NALCS.

: I am always coming on ranked dead ready, i know my champion like my fingers, i know about every build, rune, champion, aspect out there, i know rotations i know where is everyone and could be on map, i know about objective focus and so on, so on, and i am ready to hit back high diamonds this year. But sometimes in exactly situation like this i press no... why ? Because fuck you guys, thats why, you all sucked, didn't even know 10% of what i just mentioned, hell you probably picked your champion first time ON RANKED, i was doing well and you all just gave up in first 5 minutes of the game, and because you all gave up and started playing even more lazy and bad than before, we are 100% losing with this attitude. **You want to know why i pressed no ? Because all 4 of you fucked my game and you should suffer for it.** Yeah i know i am spiteful, i should be smarter and move to next game, but sometimes i just want to pay back, sometimes getting my little revenge means to me more than time management.
Yeah I vote no out of spite all the time. When you take bot lane from me because you want to work with you duo and you still fuck up and cost the team the game, well sorry you can just wait ten minutes while I practice for a bit longer.
: Bjergsen doesn't take up an import slot due to the grandfather rule, which allowed an imported player to not take up an import slot after 2 years. Which is why the spring 2016 TSM roster had Bjerg, Sveskeren, & Yellowstar. In mid 2016 the rule was changed from 2 to 4 years so players like Impact, Jensen, & Piglet who've been in NA since 2015 have to wait till next year.
Just watch them change the time it takes to six years

: It's amazing how I gotta work hard to do dmg, then I see ADC's right click for 600 crit.
You realize that your bot lane's performance is also your responsibility, right? Sure they can be losing on purpose, or there is such a skill discrepancy that they simply cannot lane against their opponents, but usually that's not the case, especially in a ranked game, which is the only game worth complaining about. What is most likely is that you ignored your bot lane or provided subpar 'help', they got steamrolled and you paid the inevitable price for that by having to deal with a fed enemy ad carry without one of your own. Both teams will have at least one marksman on it, they are powerful because they are ranged and only build damage items, they will always be strong, if they weren't strong there would be a whole host of new problems that you couldn't even imagine, deal with it.

See? You're already coming across as aggressive. You're talking in text so even something asked nicely might be misconstrued as being passive aggressive or sarcastic. - You might say something as seemingly innocent as "Hey you mind not dying right before we're about to do Baron? Thanks" - a totally justified comment to make if that happens, but what is going on in the other guy's mind is "fuckin shit this fuckin plat asshole fuckin shit singling me out god dammit fuckin god dammit I'll just go TP bot and push the wave again" I'm just trying to tell you what these other people are probably thinking. You're not actually talking to them, you're typing to them and being too nice, not nice enough, talking too little or too often, it's all a fine line you have to walk because the people playing this game are immature children incapable of taking what might even appear to be criticism. People don't like being told what to do. You have no position of authority over them even if you feel that you should. Sometimes disobeying an asshole who is telling them what to do out of spite is preferable to sucking it up and allowing themselves to be drug to victory. Most likely you aren't being as nice as you think you're being when you ask them to do something.

I've been asking for this for years. I own every Morgana skin (and quite a few others), it's annoying when it feels like the potential variety is getting restricted. Sometimes it would be nice to use the obviously inferior succulent and exiled skins, but I find myself picking the 'fancier' skins to justify the higher price or something idk. I'd like to be able to hit a random button and I just use whatever skin the system gives me.
: Lol, ok still a trash idea. Its like if this happened: romove 30 base movement speed from all champion then add this; at anytime during the game if the player presses the # key they gain a permanent 30 movment speed for the rest of the game. You are in denial of you think support isnt the communities lease favorite role, thats why autofull exists. YOU, and especially this forum is not the majority. Pointless ideas are pointless "They already tried that on OCE, everyone just excluded Support which made queues much much longer and no one liked it in effect. It's a good idea in theory, but in reality it simply doesn't work."
What people don't seem to understand is that the ones who don't want support already do not pick support. Giving you the option of "all...but' does not mean that if it comes down to it you can't be autofilled into support if that's all that's left. It just expands your options at no real detriment. Right now we're already working with a "All except" system, it's just - "All except three unless you get desperate" and what we could have is "All except one unless you get really desperate".

: Just another way for the masses to shun support, doesn't really fix anything. Current system has auto fill in it because a majority of players pick two roles that does NOT include support thus leaving us without enough supports to go around. Include this system the masses will opt out support giving them 4 potential roles BUT again that does absolutely nothing when the masses are still, say again, opting out of the support role. There is once again not enough supports to go around with this system. Its a more complicated system that has the same outcome; no one wants to play suport.
As you'll be told for probably the millionth time, support is not everyone's least favorite role. I would rather do anything but jungle, in my case. Some people can't use marksmen, whatever.

The idea that the unskilled players will just 'fall to where they belong' is wrong and not working, especially with the current state of the game. This is true for Flex as well. In fact, I would say its even worse in Flex because it's the queue where you get the duo or three man that have one good player and he's gonna carry his baddie friends.

I don't know why people act like blaming draft for a loss is some sort of excuse, no it isn't, Cloud 9 fucked up and got outplayed before the game even started, and WE didn't, so good on them. Wrong. They are professional players. They are supposed to and can play anything viable. SKT and MSF shown yesterday that it doesnt matter. Only thing that matters is how good you play. Leona fervor. Blitzcrank in Ardent meta, Nashors tooth Orianna. Performance is 95% of the game. C9 got outplayed in game. Not before game started. WE just played better. It doesnt matter which champions they played. Blaming draft is just pathetic excuse to avoid admitting that opponent was better.
When you make picks for one strategy, but then let through a pick you didn't need to that hard counters that strategy just by existing you lost that draft and made it very difficult for your team to win. Breaking the meta does not mean a bad draft. Those picks you referenced were made with a purpose and fit into their gameplan. You're just being intentionally obtuse to say draft only matters 5%.
: Hopefully C9 is feeling utter shame at that draft in game 5 right now. How do you appreciate a team that throws game 5 at worlds? You dont. You ridicule them and make sure they know they fucked up hard and let down everyone that wanted them to win. No appreciation when they made an amateur mistake at a pro tourney.
I feel like most of it was on reapered, but the Orianna pick that Jensen obviously asked for was highly questionable to me, basically after the first items come in he has no kill pressure on Gallio without significant helip, and that's guaranteed. If you're going to let the Gallio mid through you better have a better answer to it than an Orianna, which I know he's amazing on, but it's just numbers for a lot of this stuff.
: The only thing I appreciate about my favorite team, is that they CHOOSE to lose every single important game. Such as this worlds match, their MSI performance, and their throwing of the second half of the summer split. With faulty logic that is so inane that you have to question if they were paid by the Chinese to throw. You don't make -60 IQ choices as a pro player and expect to win. I feel that a fully randomly picked blind team would have been better than their shit draft. I would literally kill myself to restore SOME level of thinking for C9 in their game 5 if it would have made even a little bit of difference. What do I appreciate about C9? No matter how much I support them, they can always outplay themselves, ALWAYS make the stupid choices, ALWAYS play Silver 3 solo Q type of games. Their loss is EMBARRASSING as their fan. I feel like I should apologize to my brother for thinking they could even have a chance of winning. They never, EVER learn. I'm sick of putting my faith in a team that makes it their job to stop thinking.
Their MSI performance? Do you have multiple favorite teams?

: C9 Appreciation
I appreciate them for not being complete fuck ups, but it ends there. I love them, but the Game five draft was inexcusable and it was obvious before the game even started. I haven't been this pissed at C9 since I can't even remember when, and I've seen every one of their games since season 3 on. They played their hearts out, but letting the Gallio - Janna through, fucking inexcusable. People are acting like this was somehow a huge improvement over past quarters performances, but it isn't. They lost in game 3 to fnatic. They went 1-3 against Samsung Blue, they got swept by Samsung Galaxy, and they went 2-3 against WE. Weighing competition they've basically had the same level of success/failure as they always have had. They should have beaten fnatic, they didn't, and they should have beaten WE. They should have lost horribly to both Samsung's and they did. WE is not a comparable team to SSB or last year's SSG, not in the least, and the only way I would be able to say they improved was if they managed to close out the series, they didn't.
: Oh, look another finals with only Chinese/Korean Teams. This will be exciting. Actually No.
If RNG can actually take down SKT and make the final then it'll be exciting, but for C9 to lose the way they did has completely ruined it for me, I'll be speeding through vods many hours after the games happen and won't really give a shit. Rather than excitedly waking up at three in the morning like I have been.

: Why do people always focus on draft after NA loses? What does it matter what they banned/picked? Its about the way you play. WE played better. WE won. RNG played better RNG won. SKT played better SKT won, SSG played better SSG won. Its simple as that. Teams that played better are in semi finals. This is same bitching u see in solo que. "I didnt lose game because opponent played better but because my team inted, trolled, afked and other bullshit. C9 didnt lose cause of draft. TSM didnt lose cause of draft. FNC didnt lose cause of draft. Noone lost cause of draft. THey all lost because opponent played better. Say GRATS WE for good performance and move on.
What is picked determines how you can play, idiot. What does Gallio punish? Overextending and/or pushed in lanes. What does Caitlyn do? Push in waves. So not only did C9 allow a champion to go to the other team which makes their strategy nearly unworkable, they also chose not to pick that same champion which would have benefitted their Caitlyn strategy. I know it fucking blew my mind to, i didn't think I would see a worse fuckup in the draft after the second EDG - C9 game but they proved me wrong. I love C9, but fuck me if that isnt one of the most anger inducing two games I've ever seen. IT WASNT THE CAITLYN, IT WAS NEVER THE CAITLYN. what is the point of picking the Caitlyn if you can never push the tower out of fear of a Gallio ult? No point, that's right. And Under no circumstances should Gallio be allowed to be picked right now, ever.

: There should be 4 Korean Teams in Worlds
The tournament is meant to be a celebration of professional league of legends across the globe, competitive integrity is second to this. If competitive integrity was most important the groups would not be organized randomly with past results of different teams in different tournaments being the backbone for placing. But it isn't, so get used to it. And honestly, RNG smacked around Samsung in the group stage, Samsung smacked around Longzhu in the quarters, SKT was 'this' close to getting manhandled by Misfits. I would not be surprised in the least if RNG beat SKT next week.

Pure speculation but I feel like the NBA ownership has a lot more trendy types in it that football does. Like, the NBA has Mark Cuban in Dallas, the NFL has Jerry Jones. The guy who bought the Clippers was a tech guy from Silicon Valley I think. Idk, I just feel like they'd be a little more willing to try something like esports out than most of the NFL owners. That said Robert Kraft who owns the New England Patriots did buy the Boston overwatch slot if I'm not mistaken. He's a little more trendy though, he wears sneakers basically all the time because he just doesn't give a fuck about that type of stuff anymore.

: One potential upside though could be that these teams might not be as "smart" when it comes to building rosters, giving us multiple TL's without the steve aspect. Hell, if the Cavs rumors are true then we could see DD and Lebron unite, as when you think of players who disgracefully left their teams only to have moderate success elsewhere, then randomly return to said team, those two immediately come to mind.
I don't really know how you could consider four straight finals appearances and two victories as moderate success but whatever.

Miror B (NA)
: For me, it's looking more and more likely that the main reason for all these current LCS teams getting denied has to do with overwatch. NV was tied to the overwatch league, they're out. Speculation is going around about Dig being in the overwatch league, they're out. IMT is in the overwatch league, they're out. Considering all the known "in" teams (EF, C9, CLG, TSM, TL, Optic, GSW) aren't really tied to it, a case could be made for that being a variable involved and not the financial stability, as if that were the case then I'm questioning TSM being in when they currently (from what I can understand) have ZERO outside investments and are having a hard time fielding multiple esports teams.
Except they are, C9 has the London spot and I think Optic has the Houston spot
: Overall, a monetary issue is certainly the most plausible answer (and being boring/not something the average fan of a team tends to discuss, something that could come off as a sudden surprise, since that's not something most E-sport teams openly advertise unless asked directly). As an Immortals fan, it would be sad to see the team I've been cheering on since they started and really get me into watching e-sports vanish over lack of stable funding, but it is a major reality of this franchise system. Yes teams will get the stability they've been demanding, yes, the system is being switched to a Bo1 so teams can have a bit easier time to build dedicated fan bases through marketing and viewership. But if there is a significant risk of a team suddenly collapsing and leaving things unfunded, then I can understand that being of concern to being given a franchise spot. Just wish/hope there would be more transparency and information on all this, so everyone understands what happened.
Agree with you there. Riot has go to be the worst company in the world at communication on really simple things. Every time they made a decision on a team being accepted or declined they should have sent out an official statement on why they made that decision, anything to keep people from reaching the point where they are now.
: Probably because TL has massive capital and a large collection of sponsors that Immortals lacks.
No no, it's obviously a conspiracy where Riot is damaging their own best interests out of spite.
: You don't understand the logic because that is nonsensical and that is not why their application declined. The obvious is right in front of everyone but they just want to latch on to any idea that makes riot, and not IMT look bad.
I'm not going to speak for Riot, but the obvious reason is that they failed the application process at some point. The same application process which every team had to go through, by the way. People are acting like they got kicked out, no, they were never in. No team was 'in' until their application was accepted and Riot decided that they wanted to be partners with that team. So obviously they failed the application process at some point. They're consistently high performers with a decent enough fan base, so that's not it. So where did they fail? Probably when they were asked to reveal the entirety of their finances to Riot and their advisors, Riot saw something they didn't like. Maybe it was their failure to produce profits and their inability to work with sponsors to the degree TSM, C9, TL, CLG, and FOX are (I believe they still only have two sponsors). The idea of franchising is for the collective benefit of all teams, if Immortals' plan was to jump into the league and leech off the other teams while failing to produce profits on their own, then apparently Riot didn't like that plan.
: > [{quoted}](name=Mazariamonti,realm=NA,application-id=9hBQwnEU,discussion-id=l3swvxaI,comment-id=00020000,timestamp=2017-10-18T22:18:32.496+0000) > > Well they're out, but it's not because of the dumb conspiracy theory reasons most people seem to think about why they got their application declined. There's no conspiracy theory.
The idea that Riot is so concerned about competition for their cheap tickets in their hundred person 'arena' in a city as large as Los Angeles that they would remove a top four team because of that is complete nonsense and belongs in 'second JFK shooter' type talk. They don't particularly care about ticket sales, they are there to have a crowd for the broadcast. They don't care if you have interests in other esports, they just accepted C9 and Optic, both of which have overwatch slots. What they care about is making sure you're not going to lose your financial backing and collapse when the venture capitalists get tired of not seeing a return on their investment.

Because Riot didn't respond to a request for comment. And now that there's some backlash all of a sudden. poof. OK, we'll comment now.
And again, according to the ESPN article where this dropped, Riot has not commented on it, I think that is stupid of them, but they haven't. This update of information apparently came from the same person who dropped the other information. 'Sources close to Riot' could mean anyone, anyone but Riot.

Just sayin.
Riot's stance was never taken in the original article, stuff about overwatch or anything else was just hearsay from a guy that's not even in Riot.
: WHY KICK IMT, WHILE KEEP TL????????? Invest money into Overwatch = no franchise spot in LCS. I don't understand the logic behind this.
You don't understand the logic because that is nonsensical and that is not why their application declined. The obvious is right in front of everyone but they just want to latch on to any idea that makes riot, and not IMT look bad.
