: in that case he's only playing like blitzcrank, naut or thresh who stay quite safe when they miss their hook. He isn't committing to anything so why should he be in danger? That's like expecting soraka to just die once she misses Q. honestly don't see how this makes him any safer than yuumi. His getaway options are comparable to janna's and plenty other assassins.
> [{quoted}](name=Jerry SeinfeId,realm=EUW,application-id=3ErqAdtq,discussion-id=QMEaAQkg,comment-id=000900000000,timestamp=2019-07-18T22:31:40.326+0000) > > in that case he's only playing like blitzcrank, naut or thresh who stay quite safe when they miss their hook. > He isn't committing to anything so why should he be in danger? > > That's like expecting soraka to just die once she misses Q. Well, there's more than one way a hook support tries to engage. There's fishing for a hook from max range on whoever is dumb enough to poke their head out from behind the minions... And then there's "going in for the hook" like I said. "Going in for the hook" is when they walk up past the minions to get a clear shot. When Thresh goes in for the hook he stands a good chance of eating my CC and being run down, unless he lands the hook. When Pyke does this he eats my CC and a couple of autos, and then dashes away, taking minor damage that won't stick for more than 30 seconds thanks to his passive, two health pots, and a relic shield. So a more appropriate analogy would be expecting Soraka to die after she walks up so far that she can drop her silence behind the target and then failing to land the slow on her Q. She usually does. Because going that far in and blowing a spell is committing hard. Blitzcrank and Nautilus are the same way. They can walk right past the minions, fail the hook, and almost never die as a result. You can guess what I think about the current state of their balance.

: Bot lane has turned so stressful and so cheese to play, doesn't even feel competitive
This is so Poe's Law. "Cheap mages landing one skillshot and I lose a quarter of my health! I'd rather play against a hook support who lands a single skillshot and I lose all of my health!"
: idk what you're trying to prove here. Pyke dies less? To be expected when you compare him to the squishiest characters. Sure janna can stay alive piss easy if she plays to stay alive but sometimes even she needs to take a risk. Soraka offers relatively little safety to herself, moreso the adc. She brings herself to quite low hp alot. Most engage supports can shit on her easily. yuumi stats seem whack as hell tbh. no way she doesn't take damage at all or never wins. all in all you look at one thing in a vacuum. Pyke has great sustain, he still risks dying when he goes in. Honestly just sidestep him and kill him free.

That he's too safe. > yuumi stats seem whack as hell tbh. no way she doesn't take damage at all or never wins. Hard to "take alot of damage" when you die after 600 HP's worth. On the rare occasion that she is caught out she dies before racking up much "damage taken". Also the WR is just compared to average for the role. Believe it or not Yuumi is still well below average WR for a support. > all in all you look at one thing in a vacuum. Pyke has great sustain, he still risks dying when he goes in. Honestly just sidestep him and kill him free. Except that the instant he misses the hook he dashes out of range. Unless your name is Morgana, Lux, or Zyra, you do not have enough CC and damage to lock him down long enough to kill him. Even if you are one of the few champions with long duration hard CC, you have to be able to land that on a very mobile target. He only takes any risk at all by attempting a hook in a small handful of matchups.

: ADC & Support - Hate Laning With
I also despise {{champion:81}}. The champion is weak early, strong with his {{item:3004}} and leading up to it once he has a few tear stacks. But he's got players who are aggressive early and die, even though they've pick a play it safe champ, and players who play too safe all game even after they've fully stacked their tear. Rarely do I get one that both knows how to choose fights he can win **and** knows how to throw out pokes or Ws for lane pressure. Also {{champion:15}}. For mostly the same reasons. No lane pressure, strong personal safety that makes me the main target for all of laning phase. Hard to stack Spellthief's procs when the enemy throws out their CC every time I walk up because they know they ain't catching my ADC with it.

: You know what's funny about the charts you linked? 2 of them have MUCH higher win rates on average than the "safe" Assassin. Irrelevant. Win rate is a measure of overall power, not safety. > Then you look at the fact Yuumi blows him out of the water for damage. Not a good thing, but irrelevant. Again, we're comparing safety... as in "immunity to being outplayed and dying as a result". > And then you left out all the real back line supports (Blitz, Thresh, Nami.....) Backline support. As in "the ADC is in front of me when the fighting starts". Any good Thresh or Blitzcrank is going to be stepping out from behind the minions to initiate a fight, except in the case of their opponent screwing up and letting them land a max range hook. Nami will walk up to the enemies to W often until mid-late game when its usefulness falls off. After that she might qualify as a backline support because she'll be playing safe and using her spells reactively, but during the early part of the game when she's strongest she is often in front of the carry doing her job: trading and trying to land bubbles.

Automatic combining has its downsides. You're not the first one to notice or complain. Personally I wish they'd set champion combining to manual. : Leaver penalties and cooldowns.
Back when I was new there were a few matches I left due to unforseen RL circumstances. I didn't always get a penalty, but when I did it was either a 24 hr ban or Low Priority Queue for a few games. Low Priority Queue is basically the normal matchmaking experience but with 5 minutes of extra queue time tacked on just to be annoying. But for real: don't even queue if you're going to quit on your team. Surrender is a team decision. It's not yours to make. You connection cut out? Your parents found some nonsense that needs doing **right now**? Unfortunate, but it happens. Try to avoid playing, especially Ranked, when there are possible interruptions. There's an asshole on your team that you don't want to win? Suck it up. There are more than the two of you in this match. I have never left a game over ragers or trolls, nor quit playing when the surrender vote failed. You should aspire to the same level of maturity and responsibility.

: Again again, improve the punishment system by not allowing people to bypass it.
I don't know the details, but Riot claims they already have a system for detecting smurfs. If false positives do occur, it wouldn't be the end of the world. Instead of an automatic ban, the player would receive a message on login offering to roll the second account into the new Official Alternates system, and would only result in a ban if the player chose to ignore the message and keep playing both accounts, which would trigger the case being sent for manual review. If a false positive manages to make it all the way to an actual ban, despite manual review AND the player(s) having a chance to object to support, then it would still be possible to appeal the ban. As for new accounts created after receiving a punishment: that wouldn't be detectable... unless the punishment was temporary and they went back to also playing on their old account. And that's fine. The player still loses quite a lot by losing their old account, and will have to level the new account back up and start the ranked climb from scratch.

: Feedback : Carousel Draft : New players with not enough information
Even a new player can tell the beefy lookin' dude with the shield is probably going to be a tank, the smol girl with the silly hat and staff is likely going to be whimsical caster of some sort, and the spider babe is gonna be... well actually you can't tell much about what role she's supposed to fill. Would be nice if left clicking gave champion information during carousel too. Why doesn't it already? You don't get much time to pick, so it wouldn't help very much... but it certainly wouldn't hurt. Come to think of it, that gives me an idea for helping to ease new players into TFT: Whenever a large percentage of players are "new" to TFT (less than five games) the game gives a large amount of extra time (twice normal?) to players to choose champions on the carousel. Matchmaking attempts to put players with less than five games together with other players with less than five games on TFT. Combined with my previously mentioned "add left clicking for info to carousel", this will give new players more opportunity to pick things from the carousel that their team can actually use, reducing frustration with their limited ability to find the information needed to make an informed decision in the rapid pace of normal TFT.

Just make her empowered autos _not hitscan_. The most frustrating part of her procing her passive is her auto landing instantly so you can't outtrade her. If the auto landed AFTER yours does then the shield wouldn't absorb your return fire. Moreover it would allow you to avoid eating a comet or Aery proc by shielding once she launches the auto. Currently you can't shield her off because she could target either one of you and the attack lands instantly once she decides. Give her Soraka bananas.
