Hello. i hope Diana receives some QoL changes. With the Diana Adjustments, if they were to be some of the sort like: Passive - On hits deals magic dmg, cleave deals most but reducing the AP scaling down. (more incentive for Nashors) replace the mana back on Moonfall. Giving the Atk Steroid on the passive. E- Moonfall. Its an Iconic move to Diana it looks cool. I hope something of a mana cost taken out and it giving mana. I seem to find myself not using E for its absurd mana cost for what it does. If we can see any adjustments now that would be generous. thank you.
: Small Diana Gameplay changes coming to PBE
Hi thank you very much for the info. Diana is getting alot of band-aids and not really alot of fixing. When you patch her there seems to be another thing about her that is needs fixing. I can understand that she isnt being focused on because of other champions in need of reworking. {{champion:131}} Clearly needs an identity, and that she needs to work off of. All these new champions are getting a Niche role for what their abilities work mechanic wise, Diana is lacking. Assassin/Bruiser doesnt seem to fit in this game and i think thats why its hard to balance or even rework Diana. You should probably scrap her kit, like you did with her lore and "rebirth" (rework) her mechanics again.
: Adaptive Champions, and Why Shaco Should be the First.
That is a beautiful and thorough explanation without ranting. I would agree that Shaco would be an excellent first to become an adaptive scaling champion. The fact that it's hard enough to build against adaptive champions is believable that riot wouldn't imply dual scaling. If given the gameplay, I think adaptive champions would be very interesting to mix in. we already have some champions with dual scaling on some or one abilities. Whilst others seem like they should have adaptive scaling but dont. I think that if some champions have adaptive scaling they wouldn't be overpowered but underpowered. Their damage would be optimal if they build glasscannon. The gold cost and build paths would be a downside. In the end, I would prefer this change.

Hey there, would {{champion:131}} be viable for a champion update even a mini right after Irelia? Since we've heard she needs more polishing on her kit and her playstyle. The recent changes to her kit add some flair but kinda like a bandaid. Whereas she needs something more concrete. She would be more perfect in jungle like she was seen to be. Thank you.

Hello i would like to discuss the WIP changes for {{champion:131}}. I am glad Diana is getting looked at, but how she is being changed is another thing. **WIP Changes Listed. ** **Moonsilver Blade (P) [removed] no longer grants 20% attack speed.** Live Version : Diana gains 20% bonus attack speed, and cleaves nearby enemies for 20 - 250 (based on level) (+ 80% AP) bonus magic damage on every third basic attack within 3.5 seconds. **Crescent Blade (Q) cooldown lowered from 10/9/8/7/6 to 8/7.5/6.5/6** Live Version: Cost: 55 Mana. Cooldown: 10 / 9 / 8 / 7 / 6 **Moonfall (E) [new effect] Passive - Diana's spell casts grant her 40/50/60/70/80% attack speed for next 3 attacks.** Live Version: EFFECT RADIUS: 450 COST: 70 Mana. Cooldown: 26 / 24 / 22 / 20 / 18 It looks like its not fully finished on what they want from her. I want to say that she is looking to be more of a jungler than a laner. On her release she was considered an AP jungler, and she executed it way to well that she made her way into Mid lane. She got changes, and nerfs placing her in an okay but needs work position. The situation is awkward but thats where she had always been after the changes. If divers were to be signature, Please do not force all of them to the jungle. I read a post awhile back about "The Laning Fighter" . It http://nexus.leagueoflegends.com/2016/12/dev-on-evolving-the-laning-fighter/ . Although it mainly focused on the Champion, Camille, i feel like it can apply to any fighter class type. Not often do you see an in-lane fighter diver, mainly in the jungle. Not all but some champions from that subclass have a binary gameplay that mimics another champion, better or worse. Her identity requires stat checking, and after the runes reforged process coming its way, i think she might struggle even more. Her pre-6 is innately punishing. Even more so when she is invaded. As a main, here is my rune page set up: 9x atk spd marks, for her early game farming. 9x Armor seals, for the poking she receives 9x MR glyphs 3x Flat AP Quints. I usually run Stormraider's Surge tree. Sometimes i switch it up when i think i can carry my team: I choose to opt out of magic pen since i prefer to build a void staff. choosing x5 intelligence in the Cunning Tree 6x atk spd marks 3x armor marks 6x Flat CDR Glyphs 3x MR Glyphs 6x Armor seals 3x MR seals Diana needs some sort of compensation if they are going to gut her and remove her innate tankiness.

Thank you Meddler for Addressing Diana! {{champion:131}} She is feast or famine, binary stat checking, bursting hybrid tank. Im excited to see what is in store.
: Taking another look at subclasses
Has there been any news on updates for class/subclass? I last heard that it would be Divers. It looks pretty thin on the AP scaling, what do you think about tweaking a champion such as Diana in that roster? She plays and builds as a bruiser/ assassin. Elise has a similar situation, she builds assassin like or tanky. What do you think Defines a diver or what champions would you want to become a rendition of a diver?

: Quick Gameplay Thoughts: May 9
Hello Meddler, although it has been only a week since Warden Tank updates and im growing concerned over one specific champion {{champion:131}}. After the changes to items (mainly AP and MR) and base MR stats, i feel like Diana is being struck down hard with her high mana costs and playstyle. Are there going to be any minor tweaks or safety nets for her? Diana thematically is a Diver but playstyle and itemization much like an assassin. If she is shifted away from pure AP builds she begins to slowly fall behind if she gets to snow ball that is. She is very feast or famine, i have not played her in jungle as she was intended, but i feel like her laning phase is alot safer than jungling. She is susceptible to invasions due to her lack of power and mobility Pre-6, feels like an innate weakness when she already is a Melee AP Caster with high mana costs. The talisman grants her a good amount of mana regeneration but when ganking, having 80% mana or above is always a must for her to fully execute her kit. Meanwhile her laning phase is decent. If she manages to snow ball she can help her other lanes early on but in order for her to acquire a good lead in gold, her jungler needs to gank consistently thus neglecting other lanes. The changes to items such as Banshee's hurts her combo alot when coupled against CC champions. After reducing MR pen and adding more MR options, i think magic penetration is really hard to comeby on her. With the lack of mobility and the presence of high amounts of CC, i tend to use Mercury treads on her more than sorcerer's. Her kit requires a specific playstyle all in (thunderlords). or a variant hit-run (stormraiders) coupled with her teammates. Due to {{champion:131}} 's selective Mobility she heavily requires the support of her teammates, and that cuts down on whom they can choose. Even if {{champion:131}}'s kit is limited, i really enjoy playing her. I love her lore and her lines in game and she poses a threat when she is seen. I did mention that league of legends had a tank update but would be any spoilers or leaks of any updates upcoming? Class updates or items? Thank you for your time.

I think adding more utility increases would be a cool change. **Infernal Drake:** Basic attacks deal X flat amount of physical/ or magical damage. (could be like old Spellblade mastery?) **Mtn. Drake:** Being around an active allied/enemy tower grants a small shield X amount. (stacks with itself?) **Cloud Drake** Abilities and Spells (for passive and active items?) slow for X amount . (does not stack with other slow CC. Decaying slow) **Ocean Drake** While in combat, ocean drake regen is stunted but grants a tenacity reduction when hit by a champion for X seconds. (stacks with personal tenacity) **Elder Drake** Having atleast 3 Drakes (One element each) Grants an additional Buff - Harvester Of Dragons : Reaching Fatal Damage renders Champion immobile but immune to damage for 1 second and granting X Flat MS and a decaying Shield X Amount. ( Elder Drake shield-health shield?) And two questions for Meddler, What champions would you pick for each subclass that would represent that class well? Are there any champions that you would change their subclass? Thank you.
: Follow-up to early Midseason Durability feedback
What are your thoughts on Magic champions that have limited range (melee) although mainly diver or assassin? With these changes to MR and per level, I would assume the patch will hurt them a little bit. Yes this patch may be for tanks but I do expect to see other classes taking up the new items. The new swap (abyssal/banshee swap) also.

: Hey Daiana, That's a great question and here's my best answer for you. Assassins are meant to be extremely fragile but nimble, avoiding damage by simply being (or not being) in the right place at the right time. Assassins also have the mobility to both get in and out of sticky situations - being able to disengage safely from risky propositions is a staple of an Assassin. Diana is a champion whose thematic and identity suggest that she should be much more brute force in nature. Diana is a champion about conviction, she finds her moment, rushes into the battle then remains in the fray until the very bitter end. Diana was always meant to be more of a Fighter-type champion - this is reflected in mechanics like her W shield and her Passive which incentivize her to get into the heart of the battle and duke it out over time. Unfortunately, we've never been able to really achieve that gameplay fantasy on her. Instead, Diana has always been far burstier and squishier than intended and thus now reflects a fairly unhealthy Assassin pattern that is extremely reliant on snowballing or feeling completely useless. Akali is the opposite story. A champion who was meant to be an Assassin but has always benefited extremely well from tankier / fighter type builds due to having out-of-place mechanics such as Spell Vamp or massive Armor and Magic Resist buffs. An easy kind of Assassin litmus test I use is the following: would it make sense (both mechanically and thematically) for this champion to have a reliable escape / disengage button? For Akali, I think the answer is yes. For Diana, I don't think it makes as much sense.

Thank you for the response, im sorry i couldnt clarify further. I believe this is late in response but if i could opinionize a bit more that would be appreciated. I agree, assassins are squishy and Diana isnt exactly that when it comes to stats. Her W is a great self peel but its also a double edged sword that can be abused heavily. Miss an Orb, no refresh on shield (hardly the issue). Pale cascade is a good ability given its uniqueness of being defensive and offensive (refresh on full proc, ap scaling, damage). It still does not justify that its an ability that defines a fighter in her. Her passive along with her w would be a strong push forward with her being a Diver Fighter. I smell a small or even lucian style rework would help her achieve Riots dream of Fighter Diana. I personally have no preference for assassin or fighter. Thank you. Have a good day.

: Next Class Update - the Assassins
I would like to know why Diana is considered a "Diver". I know a Red posted that going by the Tags on the Champion Info isnt always correct. Like when they said "just because having assassin tag on their info doesnt mean we will touch the champ". Her tags are considered Fighter, Mage. Its quite interesting since her playstyle is more of an Assassin with her burst combo, and then her Fighter aspect with her Innate Atk Spd Steroid/melee range, Tankiness and her Ability to absorb dmg with her Shield. She is considered a carbon copy of Akali but just a better, "less windowed needed time to burst".

I like LEONAS AA reset on her Q for good ward clearing or quick damage. Adding a some sort of fluidity, perhaps some sort of fighter aspect to her kit. Perhaps her passive and her Zenith Blade could correlate? When marked by an ability Zenith blade grants flat dmg scaling upon striking an enemy, with champion level. I see that Leona likes to use R E Q or W E to engage. perhaps adding some flavor to her passive and sword ability could help keep a threat when she dives in?

: Infernal Diana, SKT T1 Round 2 skins AND MORE!
I do love the Fire Elemental Theme for Diana. The the particle colors seem a little bland. "Oh look another fire theme, just red or orange colors " is what i feel like. I do play her mainly, and i am in love with her Dark Valkyrie skin. I sure hope they do more on this skin than just add similar concepts on her other skins "female boob plate, cleavage and slight particle changes" I do not like how she is being sexualized. My main issues on her skin are her colors on her Q W And R. add more depth or something else like smoke or trails.
: @Riot can I get a rioter to answer these questions?
On the thought of light divers. is our moon knight going to be a diver/light fighter? because she seems more of an assassin. {{champion:131}} i like to build nashors on her and it weaves well with her passive and W.
: Diana > Akali
Diana and Akali have similar playstyle. Regardless of whom uses mana or energy, they both fill different situations. Assassin or not Diana fills the team role with her AOE skills and high burst. Akali fits the role of an assassin, squishy. They both have their own uset of skills. Akali needs her shroud for outplay potential with her low CD Q with energy regen and her ult reset on kill. Not only does she get energy back but and so has spellvamp, dual scaling and scaling magic damage On Hit. Diana needs to all out burst and hopefully kill while relying on her tankiness. Her abilities cost a fair amount of mana. She can literally use her Q and w and R within a second on her target. Thats kinda binary. Her moonfall costs the most on her kit and it's lack luster. She can go from 100% mana to 30% of her mana with her full combo. They both have different problems and they both have similar kits. It really depends on player skill and match ups.
: Cassiopeia Twin Fang expectations
Since i think you guys want to keep the iconic poison debuff combo with Twin Fang, i think giving this ability a power reduction but adding unique option, like her autos add a separate poison, then her consuming the poison dealing a short dmg (has a passive cd window on activation?)
: Any news on when team fire Diana will be out?
Passive) Each auto attack causes Dianas hands to glow consecutively as she builds up for her Moon Silver Cleave. The Aoe would result in a red flash for the red hot metal. Q) A crimson red color that maybe leaves smoke trails as it travels? W) Radiant Fire shield around her with a glowing effect E) Scorched ground of Lunari Symbol in Black R) Red Diana with white highlights, Deep Red Flame Trails Her walk marks leave scorched mark her hair glows white with embers her eyes are orange and red, glowing like embers Her outfit would contain "Herself" like energy. Possibly Fire Elemental? Energy?

That'll be a while off though, preseason's currently our biggest priority and then there's also some disruption during the holiday period in December. I'd imagine a PBE date 2-3 months into 2016's the sort of timeframe we might be looking at, that's very much a guess though and depends on how many champions we end up tackling at once (small batch could come slightly earlier, broader changes like with Marksmen would be much later). In terms of AP items that's not something we've talked about much yet. I'd imagine we'd look at itemization if doing mages of course, almost certainly a much smaller set of changes than those to marksmen/general AD itemization though (AP's in a better starting point, especially after the 5.13 changes).

: Yo Diana players! We aren't done making Blood Moon skins! The reason that the above list of champions got Blood Moons skins is pretty simple: they were all up for new skins and in each individual champions skin ideation session the Blood Moon theme came up. :D Diana's last skin was in early 2014 so the time for her to get a new skin will be coming up again soonish (tm). I will say it again, Blood Moon is not off the table for her since her base skin is moon themed. Actually the Blood Moon theme leans more toward Kabuki in reference than to the Blood Moon itself. Additionally, if we were to ideate on skins for Diana what other {{champion:131}} skins would you guys like to see?
i would like to see a lore related skin much like how GP was. Have some sort of event that occurs that results in receiving the skin. I would work so hard on unlocking the skin. Im like many others who Complain that some champs "need" skins because they have few of them or are "due to get one since its been awhile. I think that if riot could produce these many skins for any champions then i dont see a problem. Much like Mr/Miss GALETTA said they have many skins ongoing, i think that if you rush a skin and release it, because of the gamers are complaining, we wont get anywhere since 1) it would be shitty and/or 2) the theme would not fit. With that saying, i feel like some champions would need a VU or some sort of skin Texture change before they would receive a skin. Personally {{champion:131}} classic and Dark Valkyrie {{champion:131}} needs a texture polish or just an overall Update (game and visual), her texturing and coloring like a smashed palette that has been mixed. Maybe we should not complain about New Skins for X champ and look at which champs need some remodeling or texture refining. Just a thought.

: Blood Moon Zilean confusion
I like the Idea of Blood Moon Zilean , he has cool particles and a nice model. It doesnt really seem to fit his lore but in all honesty, skins shouldnt be specifically made because of their Lore. I think giving certain skin groupings for certain champs is a really cool idea (keep them coming), BUT personally i really want to see other champions receive skins. To name a some; Zed, Diana, Zac, Lux, Anivia, Gragas. These champs specifically since 1) Few skins, 2) Maybe a new TU also. One more 2 cent opinion, i think Zed would be a good candidate for a new skin since he has only 2 and he is quite popular. Diana is similar to zed, she has 2 skins and people who play her like her and like her lore also, so it seems. I think a victorious zed skin would be a nice skin for him after all these changes of tanks and assassins for those whom play rank with Zed. Diana has so many options for a skin and i think a Blood Moon skin would be insane but i think its kind of cliche. If there were to be a skin that followed her lore i think it would prove very rewarding. (Maybe something similar to Jayce's new skin) A forsaken Diana or Hallowed, something dark to her lunar revel skin. A rant about particles: Lux has 1 out of her many skins that have a particle change, maybe some kind is reverse particle colors would be cool. Anivia still looks clumpy and 1 of her skins has particle changes. Gragas would be a pretty awesome candidate for a new particle skin change and i would like to mention, maybe he could get a wrestler type skin like Braum did. Overall, i think Blood Moon Zilean is awesome, but i think other champions could benefit better from a new skin.

Here a few champs i think would be slightly better off due to the fact that other champs will have high Cd and Mana problems. {{champion:268}} {{champion:51}} {{champion:11}} {{champion:75}} {{champion:20}} {{champion:19}} {{champion:67}} {{champion:6}} {{champion:77}} {{champion:54}}
: Redesign Diana. BUT! With no numbers!
Here are a few Propositions i thought of for {{champion:131}} : Passive: Lunar Aspect. Diana gains increased % movement speed (diminishes over moonlight duration) moving towards an enemy she damages with crescent strike. Cleaving an enemy Slows them (diminishing) over x secs. Q: Crescent Strike- increased missile speed, lower Base damage, same ap ratios, reduced mana cost but increases with each rank. cooldown is same as live. Reveals unstealthed champs and the area over the duration of moonlight. W: Moon Silver blade- Passive: Increased attack speed, every third auto is a cleave. (her old passive), lower ap scaling (already as a point in it, each point increases the base damage) E: Lunar Rush- roughly medium range (slightly smaller than Kassadin's R in live) , a skill shot blink, refreshes on Moonlight debuff. Small AoE impact dmg on target. Can be used without moonlight. medium cooldown. (can be casted while moving) R: Moonlit Cascade: 3 part ult. Buff/Debuff. Duration similar to rivens/jax/vayne. Upon activating each stage, energy bursts from diana dealing magic damage (.5 second after activating). (in order for each stage to activate, Diana has to hit an enemy champion/monster. if she doesnt it goes on full cooldown) 1st cast: Waning Cascade: Diana gains increased armor and mr over X seconds (if 2nd cast is used before full armor and mr gained, she will only retain the amount gathered during the duration) 2nd cast Full Moon: Diana gains increased Ap, on second cast her ult blinds and reveals for x second (similar to rivens/ vaynes ad increase. Blind range is around her, reveal range is smaller, but similar to Quinn's W range) 3rd cast: Waxing Cascade: Diana's armor, mr, and ap buff is removed, in addition diana gets reduced armor and mr that she had gained (debuff duration begins when ult is used and is same amount time as ultimates duration buff) Her ult has a short x second cooldown upon casting to prevent instant R mashing, but can still be used early. Duration is refreshed upon each cast. AoE range is similar to her W's Range (pale cascade) in Live version. Cast time would be similar to Cassio's Q. I feel like this could end up as an interesting Diana, her high risk high reward playstyle.
: I poked around in the source code for a bit, Trying to find a name for this new champion. (It is a champion-- look in the source code, it's listed as a champion teaser.) Although I could not find a name for the champion, I did find something interesting-- For the first slide, it's listed as "Watcher" For the second slide, it's listed as "Shurima" For the third slide, it's listed as "Crown" For the LAST one, the one referencing the new champion, the symbol is listed as "Mask". I know it's not a large piece of information, but this might give us a little more insight into what this might be. I'm thinking either the symbol will be on a mask that the new champ wears, or the new champ, in addition to being a bard, will have something to do with this "Mask" thing. Just an idea. EDIT: I also notice there is no information about what the "Crown" means as well. Noticing it's a shattered crown, perhaps it's a reference to the "Ruined King" of (assuming) the Shadow Isles? EDIT 2: IMPORTANT: I did some more poking in the source code and noticed a name that showed up several times-- Apollo. Considering that Apollo is the god of song, and bards were known for their songs... Just an idea. Make of it what you will.
I also viewed the Source code and found that it says "Apollo JS Skin" could be the name and skin of the champ?

: Look where they are. High mountain peaks above the clouds, looking to the celestial skies? This is gonna be Mt. Targon related. Possibly the only remaining people who have properly recorded history of the lunari prior to their being wiped out? Constellation has reappeared due to Diana's attempt to resurrect lunair ways? EDIT: Haha, look at all these upvotes I'm getting. Man, I wish I wasn't because rereading it a second time, I realize I misread the wording on the final page and I no longer think its Mt. Targon afterall. I'm gonna go with what a few other people have said and lean towards Ionia.
If you look at the Map of Runeterra, Ionia is further away from Shurima even if the mountains are big. They spoke of the fall of Shurima, so they must have seen it happen. They also spoke of Freljord and the invasion of "strange creatures" could be void monsters. So they must be either in the Ironspike Mountains, and or from Mount Targon.

: Could also be Ionia. Consider the trees on the outside of the screen and the peoples' clothing. The terrain is consistent with some of the Ionian champs splash arts (Syndra, Karma) and the clothing more fits that style.
Im speculating that this champion is going to have a major impact in the lore department. This champ might bring changes to other champions (RW/VU). What im more hyped about is what that freaking symbol represents, and why now, why did these people appear?
: I don't think you'll get very far on Akali without addressing the always hits nature of her kit. There's just zero outplay potential in there, everything becomes a stat fight way too quickly. It's a predictably sad update on Diana. Clearly she's not as high priority as the stuff that really needs fixing. It's been over 2 years since Diana was sent to purgatory though, and she's such a fun champion. QQ =(

QQ =( It is a very sad season for Diana, she is hit or miss with her snowballing. I will always play Diana, but if she doesnt get some sort of important attention i would not be disappointed due to the fact that im already disappointed at her current state. One day she will shine.~

: Share a tip about your favorite champion everyone should know
My favorite champion is {{champion:131}}, the often forgotten champion. Here are a few useful tricks. 1. If you are confident about your skillshots (crescent strike, her Q) you can engage pretty fast using R before her Q as it lands, still giving you the reset. 2. Speaking of her reset, you can do minor jukes when you cast her R the second time. Diana will strike behind the enemy target when you are in melee range after you cast her R. 3. If you ever played her, her W can be casted while walking. 4. im not sure if its a tip but ive been able to use her Moonfall (E) during her Dash to her target, but its just funny looking.
