: Lucian is forming a party to rescue Senna, which 4 Champs would you choose to fill out his roster?
: Most of those champions are cheese picks or extremely niche, though? Even that aside, {{champion:31}} {{champion:122}} {{champion:36}} {{champion:3}} {{champion:86}} {{champion:150}} {{champion:420}} {{champion:24}} {{champion:240}} {{champion:54}} {{champion:82}} {{champion:75}} {{champion:111}} {{champion:516}} {{champion:2}} {{champion:58}} {{champion:98}} {{champion:14}} {{champion:223}} {{champion:6}} {{champion:83}}, and a good number of the champions you listed can still dip into Bramble.
Which of the champs that I listed were cheese picks or extremely niche? Maybe Ekko, Cass and Vayne, but if you're calling Vlad Kennen Jayce Camille Akali Aatrox GP Pantheon Riven Rengar Rumble and extremely nice or cheese picks then you haven't played top lane the past few months, even the past few seasons. Out of the champs I listed, I can see only Aatrox dipping into Bramble at this point, and even then, I can't see him giving up cleaver rush. Any of the other picks with bramble is completely troll, not to mention that Fiora Q + Grasp mostly mitigates the grievous wounds anyway. Also, of the champions you listed, Galio and Kench aren't viable top lane anymore and are "cheese picks and/or extremely niche"
: How many non-tank non-juggernaut toplaners do you think there actually are? Those two classes make up basically the entire toplane roster.
I guess you just forgot about {{champion:85}} {{champion:126}} {{champion:164}} {{champion:84}} {{champion:266}} {{champion:69}} {{champion:245}} {{champion:41}} {{champion:10}} {{champion:518}} {{champion:80}} {{champion:133}} {{champion:92}} {{champion:107}} {{champion:68}} {{champion:13}} {{champion:517}} {{champion:23}} {{champion:112}} {{champion:8}} {{champion:67}} {{champion:62}} {{champion:157}} "Those two classes make up basically the entire toplane roster" sure buddy
: Maybe not a *direct* nerf, but the mere introduction of {{item:3076}} was a massive indirect nerf to her.
Yea, well, tell any non-tank toplaner to go vest and see how that goes
: Raise your voices pls
Just like the Riot Games logo (and the game) everything is going downhill Well boys, I'm already dipping my foot into Overwatch and other games, it's been a nice run. I'll peek my head in during preseason to see if anything is going better (damage reduced, champs nerfed, jungle exp buffed)
: %75 hp is more accurate, those orbs got nerfed to hell so you are looking at losing %25 of your hp if she did that.
Let's do the math. Consider a level 6 zoe with {{item:1056}} {{item:3802}} + 18 adaptive force (so 18 ap) from runes, totaling 15 + 40 + 18 = 73 ap. She is against, say, a level 6 {{champion:115}}, who has 899.4 hp at level 6, + 60 hp from d-ring + 36.5 hp from runes -> 997 hp Zoe gets ignite from an rng minion. Zoe R's in, procs passive, dealing 36 + .2(73) = 51 bonus magic damage + 71 attack damage. Ziggs has 35 armor and 32 mr at level 6, so this constitutes 71 x 100/(100+35) = 53 physical damage + 51 x 100/132 = 39 magic damage for a total of 92 damage. Zoe then ignites, dealing 170 true damage over 5 seconds. Zoe then gets her spell thief w proc, dealing 75 + .4(73) damage before mitigation and 79 damage after mitigation. The total damage is 341. 341 is over 1/3 of 997 hp, and this is all in the span of 1 second. Yea, I'd say that's still pretty bullshit.
: lets shift that after zoe, she at least takes a decent amount of skill vs literally anything after her release. yes she is annoying when you get 1 shot, but she needs to land things in order for it to happen {{sticker:slayer-jinx-unamused}}
Or she can just rng pick up an ignite and chunk me to 50 percent hp with just ignite and w enhanced autos
: ***
Did you buy elo for that silver 1 46 percent winrate account too? Its clear that he knows more about Rakan than you do, you don't even fking play the champ.

: Winning on 97+ LP should give you a free win in promos - Change My Mind
Or we can just keep lp from promos - for example, let's say Bob has a 3 game promotion series from Bronze 4 to Bronze 3. Bob came into the series from 97 lp. He gains 19 lp per win and loses 17 per loss. Bob wins 1 loses 2 and fails. Bob now has 97 + 19 - 2(17) = 82 lp. In an alternate universe, lets say Bob actually won his promotion series. Bob won 2 games and lost 1 - so now Bob has 97 + 2(19) - 17 = 118 lp, or is now at B3 18 lp. He still has a grace period of falling at 0 lp, but now gets to keep the lp he got from winning the games. That way people who get into promos at 97 lp are rewarded more than people who scrape by at 81 lp.
: i get a strong feeling that "LC$" people have never watched pro play, or haven't watched it since S3
Nice job leaving {{champion:145}} out of that list, guess it would have weakened your argument. Oh, and {{champion:246}} too. Wait ... isn't Rakan "flashy" as well? {{champion:60}} {{champion:157}} + {{champion:79}}, {{champion:164}} {{champion:126}} {{champion:518}} {{champion:163}} are all situational picks as well, guess someone doesn't watch LEC LCK or LPL
: in 3 patches: towers now have weakpoints fiora can hit to deal bonus% damage. edit: people think im joking. im not. i HONESTLY believe this is something riot will consider. it just sounds funny but its not supposed to be.
In 6 patches: Fiora can now ult towers, if she hits all 4 vitals she will get the healing circle. If she kills the tower, she will also get the healing circle. In 10 patches: Fiora's riposte can now stun/disable towers after blocking a tower shot. In 15 patches: Fuck it, Fiora now oneshots towers and gets all plating gold. Riot balance team in a nutshell

: These are the biggest problems in the game, imho.
Inb4 laners come and bitch about junglers having too much agency
: Season 7 wasnt that bad.
the last half of season 7 was ardent meta, in which only the adc got to have any fun and laners/supports even jungle had to play enchanters. Top occasionally got to play carries that didn't really require too many resources like Rumble/GP. That was an awful meta and was part of the reason that adcs got gutted the next season - everyone said it was deserved after adcs being the star for an entire season
: 2/3 of the team representing NA have Import top laners thats
Brokenblade is a turkish import, you fool.
: Another fun fact, kalista got hard nerfed because she had too much and also saw competitive play while kai'sa seem to have too much and also saw a LOT of competitive play and is still good.
Its because she's sExY and sells skins
: I don't main Ryze but I'ma have to agree
Username checks out
: ADC's with mobility and self peel should never do the damage immobile ADC's do, that's the problem. Xayah, Caitlynn, Kai'sa should do considerably less damage than a Kogmaw, Twitch or Ashe, but they don't.
Xayah has one self peel on her long cd ultimate, Caitlyn has one escape tool (her E) that's pretty mediocre, setting down traps doesn't do anything when you're trying to peel for yourself against an assassin Kai'sa is ridiculous but you chose bad examples, adcs otherwise are in a pretty good state right now.

: Remove CoreJJ, then you're good to go.
? CoreJJ has been the best support in NA by miles for 2 splits, he was the best performing member imo at MSI/Rift Rivals as well. He makes very few mistakes, he's just had 2 subpar series by his standards. I can maybe understand putting him lower, but not putting him top 10 at all?

BWAHAHHAHAHAHAHA!!! You're terrible at analogies. NBA titles. Robinson 2, Worthy 3. NALCS titles Sneaky 2. Double lift 7. So Sneaky is Robinson. But You're going to have to come up with someone else to represent Doublelift. Jordan has 6. Abdul Jabbar has 6. Take your pick. 15-4 in playoff games vs Sneaky. Doublelift styles on the poor guy when it counts.
I'm talking about worlds, mate. Doublelift has never gotten past groups, while Sneaky has gotten out of groups 2x

: pyke. an assasin with stealth. mobility, fast heal IN COMBAT a hook, an execute, slow. stun
I agree that Pyke is disgusting, but listing out Pyke's capabilities isn't the way to go in order to make a constructive argument. For example: Garen. A juggernaut with true damage, free movespeed, free resists, a FAST HEAL OUT OF COMBAT a spin to win move, TRUE DAMAGE ULTIMATE, silence.
: Going to disagree with #9. Doublelift isn't undisputed best NA. A very strong case can be made for Sneaky. I see DLift as being like Conor McGregor. Both are very good, and run their mouth and brag so much, and very often back it up enough that people buy into the hype and believe they are the best, while there is a quieter and just as skilled (if not better) guy just not getting the same spotlight treatment.
While that may be true historically, I think Sneaky didn't really have a good split this summer. Sneaky was still a good teamfighter, it's just that he and Zeyzal lost lane so often that right now, I could see arguments for Cody/Stixxay for being NA's #2. Hopefully C9's series against CLG is the beginning of the upswing for Sneaky, as he looked good in that series.

: My prediction: C9 will beat TL
I don't agree that Impact will lose lane. Impact (besides a couple hiccups vs Clutch) looked really, really good all split long, better than Licorice. He never really loses lane, and like his name says - he does have an impact. He's often drafted onto champs that can be fed very few resources but still come out ahead, like Gangplank, Kennen, etc. If C9 wins, it's going to be through mid/jg difference, not through side lanes.
: Atleast she isn’t just some instagib brain dead monstrosity like everything else they’ve put out recently.
Yea, but she makes someone else an instagib brain dead monstrosity.
: Great list. If I actually watched the pro scene as I once did I could talk about your list a bit more. Overall, league and mid laners are only going to be judged on how aggressive they are and/or how many chances they are willing to make to be successful. Not sure about RNG Xiaohu mainly because he hasn't ever been all that impressive in previous years at MSI's, Worlds etc and/or when the competition gets tough. Xiaohu sorta reminds me of a cross between Westdoor and Chawy that he can win lane but not by much(Chawy), can be a decent team fighter(Westdoor) but overall, as you said, " He's a jack of all trades" but he's also a "Master of none". Again, great list and good read -
Thank you! I've been watching the pro scene all summer because 1. my internet connection sucks so I can't play 2. the new meta makes it suck to play (snowballs way too easily) but fun to watch (NUGURI WITH THE BIG PLAY$$). Also, I agree that mids (as well as jungle) are now primarily judged on how well they judge risk/reward and what plays they actively try to make. As for Xiaohu, I've watched him in previous seasons and though I can't say he's improved individually, I think his playstyle fits really well with Karsa, which is why RNG is currently enjoying the success it's having.

I prefer pro-tier balance because Pro-tier is how the game should be optimally played: Five incredibly skilled players vs. five incredibly skilled players working as an organized team with a structured gameplan. (Or if you're NA ramming your face into a wall until your nose breaks or the wall gives). I'd also like to see more variety in pro play with several champions being played in high degrees. That said, you're not wrong to have a different opinion than me. If anything, this just proves my point how neither of us get what we want because 50/50 balancing.
Like Dunkey said, 99% of games aren't like that. They consist of 3 decent players and 7 ret**** (self censoring in case mods look at this comment)
: he can be played top and mid and personally he is more fun mid
He can be played in all 5 positions :) Have you ever tried Jayce Braum botlane?
: I'm going to disagree with the idea that Clid is the best member of SKT. As good as Clid, Khan, and Teddy can be, the single most consistent and best player is still Faker. The games state is nothing like Season 3 or 5 when he would style on opponents, but quite often when SKT needs it, it's Faker, Faker, Playmaker who gets the key crowd control and burst damage to yank the rug out from under an opposing team and the rest of SKT dogpile and rip up the enemy. Clid quite often does a good job applying pressure when possible and relieving it from a lane in peril, but I can't say he is the best on the roster. He reminds me a lot of Bengi, making key plays and being consistent with the rare game when his power level exceeds 9000 and is a menace. As for your list as a whole, I don't watch nearly enough of all the major regions to debate the rankings.
Thanks for the feedback. What major regions do you watch? I'm guessing LCK, as you watched SKT from what you're saying. Any thoughts about Tarzan > Clid, or OnFleek/Canyon?

: The real coinflip meta is the people who make posts like OP
Yea, its just people like being the carries. As they say in Korea, they like being the bus driver, not a passenger. Let's say top picked Vlad, and then the enemy picks Renekton. I can guarantee that in Gold (where I play) the Vlad will 9 times out of 10 just int his face off trying to get the farm. There's NO NEED for the vlad to do anything other than to stay back, maybe pool to disengage if the Renek goes hard. But no ... Vlad NEEDS that protobelt by 10 minutes or he's going to be useless! All this without realizing that Vlad hard outscales Renek and that if he goes 0/0/0 in lane, 20 cs down he'll still be a menace in teamfights.
: You know nothing of the horrors of top lane. And from the OP's post and all you jg mains whining, I'd say you're crybabies too, by your own standards. There are plenty of ways to carry and have impact as jungle, but you don't want to admit it. You want to go back to when you could have equal or greater levels as solo laners (as if that's somehow "fair") just because you don't like that you can't brainlessly pubstomp anymore. And by the way, most top laners didn't ask for thinks like overloaded and overbuffed irelia, riven, jax, or (occasionally) akali.
I was a top lane secondary from seasons 5-7, and mainly played Garen. OF COURSE I know the horrors of top lane. Bad matchups are hell, being camped is hell. But you know what? There are plenty of ways to carry and have impact as top, but you don't want to admit it. You want to go back to when you guys could just 1v9 the game by splitting as Nasus Jax or Trynd (as if that's somehow "fair") just because you don't like that you can't brainlessly pubstomp anymore. And by the way, most junglers didn't ask for things (THINGS! not thinks) like the scuttle meta, lvl 3 pathing, and being forced into a permaganking. For more context and less shitposting, most junglers want to go back to season 4/5 (relative jungle diversity, less income than laners but had cheaper items with less stats to compensate, lower leveling) NOT season 6/7 with Graves/Kindred/Lee Sin being overpowered as fuck and soloing laners.
: No ty, top lane is already still decided by better jg wins.
Top laners are also the biggest crybabies on this planet. -> Top becomes an island -> Top laners say top lane is useless -> Riot changes meta so that players can carry through top -> Top lane becomes priority for ganks -> Top laners cry better jungler wins -> Riot changes meta so that jungle's impact on top is reduced -> top becomes an island Rinse and repeat. You guys will always cry.
: I remember imaqtpie used to always have fun, now he just looks so bored and gets angry. The game is just shitty now. There's no balance, and Riot doesn't even bother banning the toxic players in high elo who win trade, boost, int, troll, etc.
QT literally just plays TFT/Apex and when he does play league, he duos with Vincent in Diamond. It's kinda sad to see.
: Galio has the lowest pickrate in the game and for some reason jax and lux deserves buffs before him?
Galio deserves w -> flash back, I was using it successfully in gold level games (and honestly, it was the only usable part of his kit at that point) so the argument that it was a nerf needed for pro was utter bullshit. Give him that and make him scale off of MR instead of AP so he can become an anti-mage again.
: How it feels to jungle
For me, red side, Sej vs Ivern Tell top laner to go hover my red since Ivern can go in to steal Top laner afk walks to tower and afks for the next minute and half Start blue Do wolves Notice that Ivern has appeared top with a red buff. Top dies Top: flames me Invade enemy's botside Do red Do krugs Try to gank bottom. Get a kill for adc Do scuttle -> gromp. B Top dies solo Top: GG useless jungler Do krugs, try to gank top. Top rushes in early and while I get the kill top dies Top: GG I'm afk, fking useless jungler We lose!
: A month old bug when riot is a multi billion dollar company. Interesting. Color me surprised that riot shows a lack of interest in fixing problems :^)
: Technically Pyke is a Support/Assassin. He has the durability of a true support and the income generation of an assassin. I still agree that is a rather large amount of gold though... Inb4 Pyke mains downvote me.
He has the "durability" of a support because he can't have bonus HP but he has one of the highest base max HPs in the game with 2300, a mechanic that restores health (so poke damage is basically irrelevant) and the ability to build armor/mr and still do tons of damage with his stupid ult. I really, really dislike Pyke and he's one of the champs along with Sylas (also because of his ult) and Zoe (because of her w) that I wish Riot never made. (It's not that I hate new champs in general. I really love Neeko, reworked Swain, Ornn and reworked Aatrox, but the aforementioned 3 champs have either mechanics that punish opposing players for their champion picks (Sylas), frustrating RNG (Zoe) or gamebreaking kits (Pyke))
: Who are your top 2 champs per position? Please comment
Top: {{champion:14}} {{champion:43}} Jungle: {{champion:254}} {{champion:113}} {{champion:33}} Mid: {{champion:103}} {{champion:43}} Bot: {{champion:81}} {{champion:37}} Support: {{champion:37}} {{champion:497}} {{champion:201}} I put 3 champs for my main and secondary
