: TFT - What do y'all think?
How about improving co op vs ai where we can have borders and rewards tiered towards it?
: What rank is a good rank for second season of League? What Should I aim for?
I would say avoid ranked, and normal games. The best way to play league is vs bots. No one abuses you and everyone is really nice. Now if only riot would sell borders/make borders for bot games instead of using official methods to tear down those players. (I mean we have $200 ahri skins, you think they'd want to monetize borders too, right?)

Because League is intentionally busted? Idk. NP-complete problems are difficult man.
: There's no point in playing this game anymore
Wouldn't be surprised if the game was specifically programmed to matchmake you with griefers/trolls every N games in order to keep you playing (and maybe paying) longer; seems like a good business decision.

: afk players
It's another example of game design that encourages bad behavior by Riot/Tencent.
Riyal (EUW)
: Inting or flamming what's worst ?
One usually leads to another because of poor (or very good skinner box) game design. I'd say Inting as the root cause, if it's truely inting. Bieng bad isn't against the rules, but inting is. Now if they went to mastery points as the new ranked system, inting wouldn't be as bad, and you'd probably have less flaming, because your performance would matter a whole lot more.

: When someone doesn't get punished.
The reporting tool has been bad ever since Tencent took over and we lost the tribunal. My chat log for my only game in chat suspension included lines of me asking the person harassing me to 'please stop.' which shows how good quality it is. (Really if you have a group of 3+ ganging up on someone, you can get pretty much anyone punished.)
: Norms are more toxic than ranked, change my mind.
I would've said no, you're incorrect prior, but it seems that I've just been chat banned from a single normal game. The last line of text in the chat ban is me asking the person who's harassing me (and trying to friend me afterwards to continue the harassment) to "please stop." Fun times /s I hope the devs put more effort into vs bots rewards such as borders, missions, etc. It's the only nice place to play it seems :(

: If Riot removed losing then it wouldn't even be a game anymore. You are correct in saying that loser is not always an insult, but as I said already in OP's post it is safe to assume that the person being ridiculed used "loser" as an insult, which is unsportmanlike behavior.
It could just be short hand for 'losing team' or 'enemies'. If it's such a problem, they could make an alias where it swaps losers to enemies.
CytheGuy (NA)
: Programming is made entirely of logic-based arguments, however in humans and the real world, logic is a poor thing to base an argument off of, especially when it is related to the nature of human emotion. A loser is defined as: "a person or thing that loses or has lost something, especially a game or contest." When someone has lost a game or contest, they inherently feel inferior, which can cause them to feel brief melancholy or aggression. Calling them out for it can amplify these feelings, effectively antagonizing them, causing more suffering on their part that necessary/called for. An insult can absolutely be an insult in one situation, and not an insult in another. With your "bronze" argument, Riot created the term to classify a specific level of skill. Being classified as a person of bronze skill is not an insult in itself, but when someone uses it as an insult it is to emphasize a skill gap between the two parties, making the bronze player feel inferior and become melancholy or aggressive. Your "insults are always insults, or insults are not always insults" ultimatum is quite true taking exact wording into context. Insults are not always insults, they are sometimes insults. You just fail to understand the exact nature of what makes an insult an insult. What declares an insult to be an insult is whether or not it is mutually understood by all parties that the classification was not meant as an insult. In OP's case, he is referring to a player we can assume meant to call the losing team "losers" as a derogatory phrase. Perhaps you should add some behavioral psychology to your portfolio to help you better understand the nature of human emotion, behavior, and reactionary responses. I believe it would help you much more than programming would in situations like this.
Then riot should remove losing from the game and only make winning? If insults are not always insults, loser is not always an insult.
rujitra (NA)
: This has nothing to do with P and !P because the words are being used in different contexts. Using bronze as an insult is always an insult. When you are calling someone bronze to imply they are lesser, that is an insult. Period.
"An insult does not stop being an insult just because it's the noun form of a verb." Bronze should always be an insult in that case, regardless of how it's used if I use your argument. Riot uses ranks to imply we're lesser. Ranks should disappear then. The whole point of playing a competitive game is to show that you are better than other players, is it not? Maybe remove ranks, remove k/d/a, remove cs, remove deaths and just let us have a game where we first person around summoner's rift if you don't want one player to be lesser than another?

If someone said, hey losers, good game or hey losers well played, I don't see how that could be reportable, given the context that they did indeed lose. You already took their LP, don't take their dignity too.
While I think it's permissable, I don't personally do this, and by no means think it's obligatory.

Honestly if you get banned for calling someone a loser on the losing team. Then that's pretty stupid. {{sticker:slayer-jinx-unamused}}
If it quacks like a duck, walks like a duck, and eats like a duck.... ... you'd better not call it a duck because in some circles duck is a derogatory word for inferior goose! {{sticker:sg-kiko}}

: It was sarcasm to prove the point that something being true does not mean it's not insulting, and certainly doesn't make it okay.
You are now arguing P and !P being true at the same time, which is a contradiction, my friend. Either insults are always insults, xor insults are not always insults. {{sticker:sg-ahri-2}} //All those discrete math classes for programming are finally paying off!
rujitra (NA)
: Yes, that is how language works. An insult does not stop being an insult just because it's the noun form of a verb. "Loser" is an insult. It has been one for quite a while in history.
"Bronze" is an insult, yet the game references players being bronze, segregates bronze players, has identifying icons for them. Clearly, the game also agrees with my argument, or this would not be the case. I'm curious, so what specifically is your problem with my argument?
rujitra (NA)
: Insults aren't suddenly not insults just because they're true.
I'm saying it's permissible to call an object the noun-form of a verb it has done. The game, itself, also does this. Perhaps Riot should remove the ranked titles, images, and anything else to differentiate objects or indicate a verb has been taken? Also remove the concept of defeat? Make both sides winners, just have one side win more? Saying there are losers and winners is not insulting anyone, nor is referring to one team immediately following a game as the losing team, losers, as so much in that the noun and verb are directly related (properly grounded.)
rujitra (NA)
: I don't see how it's rude to call someone a fatty if they're obese. Or ugly if they are ugly. Or a dwarf if they're short
> > 2 >rujitra (NA) >Specialist - 33 minutes ago > >I don't see how it's rude to call someone a fatty if they're obese. Or ugly if they are ugly. Or a dwarf if they're short What I'm arguing is: _For all Y, if a Y has X (verb), then it is permissible to call them X(noun form of verb)._ Specifically, I am grounding this to For all teams, if a team has lost then it is permissible to call them losers. I don't agree with your grounding of the argument as it seems to go beyond the original arguement. (The X's have to have a verb-noun relationship.) It's interesting that you think that though, rujitra. (I'm not sure if you're being serious or sarcastic, maybe trying to prove by ad rediculum?)
: Survey: Should Verbal Toxicity be Punishable
I think there'd be less verbal toxicity, especially in lower ranked games, if losses were prevented for obvious griefers/trolls, or there was some sort of system in place where individual skill was ranked in addition to functioning on random teams. (sorta like a ranked mastery system.) The perceived lack of player agency on their own rank usually results in flaming/toxicity (atleast empirically.)
: i got banned for replying to a flamer...
Not surprised. The only appropriate action here is to mute team and afk farm. Doing anything else will get you reported/banned by riot. AFK farming will atleast hopefully get you fed and give time for the other teammate to cool off.
: Calling a losing team; Losers?
Technically they are the losers. If someone said, hey losers, good game or hey losers well played, I don't see how that could be reportable, given the context that they did indeed lose.
: Took so long but I did it
Congrats? The honor system is really bad, and is just another way Riot treadmills players, artificially lengthening the time they spend playing the game.

Wait... there's games where Yasuo isn't banned by both teams? Are you in plat or something?

: Can we rework Rylais into a healthier AP item? Pitch your ideas!
**What's Rylais' power fantasy?:** A scepter that stores the frozen souls of enemies slain **Who should be its intended users?:** Any mage with a weak auto attack early game that has difficulties last hitting minions compared to melee AD's **What stats would you suggest?:** +30HP +10AP + 1hp/soul stored **What passive/active?:** Passive: When auto attacking a minion below half health, your AP is used instead of AD for determining damage. When killing a minion with a basic attack, store 1 soul inside the scepter. When killing a large minion or champion with a basic attack, store 4 charges inside the scepter. Active: Your next auto attack slows the enemy champion (scaling with number of souls.). If you have 100+ souls, the champion is frozen instead and all souls are consumed. What balance problems might your version of the item have?: Might make mages who usually have to rely on abilities to farm too consistent. Not a very good late game item.
