You missed the irony a bit. He wants them to lower her E dmg, which she uses to waveclear. But then he also wants them to give her more waveclear...which she uses her E for. "former lux main" lol

My crits hit like wet napkins and he healed more than me with 40% reduction lol. Scaling has always been awkard to me. Some champions get 2 kills and it's a gg. Some champions need 1 certain item and it's gg. Some champions just need to afk until a certain point then gg. Other champs literally int into towers until they win. Then you have champs that can be 55-0 and still be useless.

You have to realize the following. 1. Just because someone plays ranked, doesn't mean they are a professional player, know the ins and outs of the game and have some sort of higher understanding of the foundation on which things like matchup works. Odds are, they don't and they don't care that they don't. Simply put, many, I would argue most people do not consider "match ups" during champ select relevant to the game at all and may not even realize or care that they just counter picked themselves. They play ranked using the champions they know, regardless. This is the most common approach to ranked games. 2. The concept of counter picking is also extremely circumstantial. Yes, in pro games its huge, in lower division games skill levels between players can be so wildly different that champion picks themselves have virtually no impact on the outcome of the game at all. 3. Your opinion on what other people are doing means a grand total of ZERO to anyone but you. Make peace with that, or you will spend your days tilting in ranked forever. Unless someone asks you what you think, you can assume they don't care what you think. Know your place in the match, you are not anyones leader or expert advisor, your just a random they got paired up with and your assumption that you know better than them is just narcissism, you have ZERO information about the player at the other end of the controls. Finally, the fact that you tilt, is more likely why you are losing matches, then the fact that someone plays poorly. This is the hardest hurdle for ranked players to get over next to the assumption that whatever division they are in, they should be higher and that it's everyone's fault but their own that this is not the case. Tilting = Losing.

This was very insightful and true. Honestly I play non-ranked now, haven't done ranked in years. In large part, I've gotten very good with some champions, and I know how to play against my counters particularly well. In Ranked (only gold) people would LOSE their...minds when I would see me pick. "Omg why would you pick that person", "Omg countered yourself". It's like no, I am the most helpful to my team when I am good with the champion I'm using. Oh right, never. You don't HAVE to flash, it's just one way of dealing with it. There's also Zhonya's and exhaust. I gave you one possible scenario, not the "EVERY SCENARIO" scenario. You're also using my "always" inappropriately, as I said Zed always appears behind his target, thus Lux can ALWAYS hit him with Q. The only scenario in which Lux could not hit a Q on Zed when he ults her is if she used it already, and she'd be a fool to do that.
Exhaust is still a summoner spell on a much higher CD than Zed's ult and very few Mids will take Exhaust unless they specifically know they are up against Zed. And Zhonya's is not a quick buy. The main problem is that, if both champions are Item-less and Summoner-less, Zed still has more options for his gameplay and will outpoke and bully Lux out of lane. She can poke...continuously. But he can Poke, He can Dive, He can just farm safely without worrying about Mana Regen. He's a significantly more versatile champion than Lux.

: I always thought the champions of Runeterra just didn't believe in two names, and only some of the most rebellious ones dare to oppose such a belief.
Ha, many don't have last names, like Darius and Draven who were orphans. But there's Lux is Luxanna Crownguard Garen Crownguard Leblanc is like Swain, in that her first name is never used, Emelia. Then there's Katarina and Cassiopeia De Couteau, the best name ever
: Is anyone staying for League's lore & stories than the actual game?
I preferred the old lore. The new is good, but it's a different game altogether when you read it. Their team has been a miss on the interesting things about champions: From Swain, they got that he was a Tyrant. Not that he was a summoner of demonic birds, if not one. to Karma, they took that she was a politician, removed her spinning Mantras and made her a martial artist who fought to keep balance. Her old Lore would have had a balance to her fighting. to Trundle, troll wanting to be a leader, take away his disease and make him muscular. His appeal was that he was skinny and that the disease became his power. The original premises had so much potential unique, and they're expanding on the least interesting parts. I don't even read them anymore. The last good one was Gangplank.
: Lux root. I know I’m fucked when I get hit.
I think the same thing for Morgana. At least with Lux you know you're going to die quick. All of Morg's abilities take so long, you know you're going to die, but it takes 3 - 5 seconds longer. It gives you an ounce of hope that you'll live, you can even fight back a bit, but you are definitely dead.
: {{champion:9}}'s fucking E. It's a fucking Brand ultimate with a silence attached to it. ***YOU WANNA KNOW WHY HE CAN'T BE VIABLE? BECAUSE HE HAS A FUCKING ULTIMATE ABILITY FOR A E***. {{champion:74}}'s Q. And W. His E's fine, because it can be dodged. Q is the definition of anti-interactivity. At least I can fucking wait out Malzahar's E. And you have to be braindead to miss Heimer's W. {{champion:31}}'s passive, Q, W, ult, Stoneplate... Okay. His passive is obnoxious and basically means he never runs out of mana, no matter how many times he spams E. His Q has a higher AP scaling than the average mage does, and has the same as some *ultimate abilities* (see Fiddle for why this is cancerous), and is hard (but not impossible) to miss. His W is an impossible to miss silence with a shitton of damage. And his ult is a fucking nuke that does more damage than the entire kits of most burst mages. And Stoneplate should still cut ***all of*** his damage by 60%. (Edited. I was wrong with which key Fiddle's crows were bound to. It's his E, not his Q).
I literally sat here for close to 10 seconds thinking, "Did they update Brand's ultimate to include fear and I didn't notice......?" And then was like, oh he meant the bouncing crows that used to 1 shot enemies back in 2010....the E...Yeah it's really not that bad. His abilities are all pretty awesome, I love me some Fiddlesticks.
: It's one thing to not be able to move through minions.
Yeah because Skarner really loves ganking knowing that a failed gank equals death... Literally played a game yesterday where my first couple of ganks led to death, because Skarner couldn't figure out a way around 3 caster minions for a trundle to simply walk up and kill me without his ice pillar.
: I didn't say he WAS a dark angel, I said he had the look with his demon raven wings. There's a HUGE difference between "Looks like" and "is." He's not a dark angel, he's a general with a pact with a demon. Additionally, Morgana and Kayle have lore that verges on being obsolete. They are in dire need of retconning, because they don't really fit into the world as Riot has built it over the past few years. Additionally, you may have liked the mystery of Swain actually being a bird, but I didn't. I thought it detracted heavily from him as a character, and degraded a lot of the story around Noxus and Demacia. The story was extremely shallow when it's like "A demon actually runs Noxus, so that makes Demacia good by default." No. Swain before was a puppet, and playing someone who's supposed to be a powerful leader of a nation who's a puppet to a bird feels bad. New Swain isn't a puppet. He's a powerful, self actualized general who is the cunning strategist we needed of him. He's his own man, the ruthless ruler of Noxus. He works with the demon bird now, and it doesn't control him. Noxus is now less of a storybook place of evil, and more of a gray area ruled by meritocracy and cunning. As for his look, I like it. It's different, and I don't really care that people are upset about the Harry Potter homage. It's a personal preference at that point. As for Fiddlesticks, sure, you're right. He has a bird motif too. Fizz has a fish motif, and so does Nami, does this mean we need to delete one of them? Or how about Miss Fortune, who has a pirate motif, and Gangplank who does as well? Who do we delete there? There are tons of similar motifs that go all around the game, so if swarming birds is shared by 2 champs, it's not that odd. As for him needing birds, his new lore doesn't say he needs them. It says the demon that lives in his arm collects and feast on souls in exchange for Swain having power. The demon is feeding, it is not swain "using birds as an army" as you imply.
I know you're trying to help clarify the point that you like his direction, but you are missing the point that they took a very minute part of who Swain was and made it into something very different. There's a huge difference between your explanation "looking like" you're understanding from a level perspective, and yet actually are "not" Stephen King/Marvel/James Bond have proven many times that retconning is lazy, it always has been. Look what happened to Frejlord, it butchered Trundle's story, and it's still terrible. Saying Morgana and Kayle's story won't fit is false to discredit new Swain's lazy Ultimate. Just because there isn't yet a place for them does not mean that their story can't be upheld with some variation. Retconning "Looks" like it's helping move the story, but it actually "is" just changing it because they ran out of ideas. As for his story being shallow, you have never read the Journal of Justice, and that's fine, but if you didn't then you don't understand who he was to a lot of people. * A member of the Black Rose, where every member has 2 forms to navigate society to ascend position. The Illuminati of Noxus. * Somehow being higher than Darius who ranked near equally and known for being the strongest, because he respected him. Not just a "Magic > Melee", Wizard-takes-control scenario. * Beatrice showing up in other splashes regularly following main Demacians to show that he was everywhere. * Survived a battle that De Couteau disappeared fighting in, any affilitation to his rise to power? Swain was a fully realized boss. He didn't need to exercise his "Amazing Magic Powers", he was a badass. He got what he wanted, even LeBlanc shuddered at his tone. His entire personality was mysterious, because everything he did and his whole history was a neverending onion that only expanded over time. Was he demonic, or mutated? Was he part of the void, which is how he knew Kassadin? Who knows. And he never worked FOR Beatrice, that was something people only started talking about when the whole Darkin lore started becoming a thing. Noxus has ALWAYS been a place of Meritocracy. I know you don't look at the board archive, but in 2014 people still pointed this out: http://forums.na.leagueoflegends.com/board/showthread.php?t=4762130. What you're saying is not new. And in case you want more specific reference to who Swain was as a person, and Noxus in general, there's this from 2011 (http://forums.na.leagueoflegends.com/board/showthread.php?t=1040190) I'd go into more references from back in the JoJ days, but it was well known for years that Demacia was an uptight feudal system, and the two were compared to Sparta and Athens regularly. But lazy people read Lore for what could be summed up in a handful of paragraphs His Look is a fun nod to Lucius, cool, I can get on board for that. Your reference of motifs is very vague, and is counter-intuitive to good story building. Water is an element, Fish is a motif of the element of water, a shark and a mermaid are denominations of themes of the motif of fish. Fizz has a mystic trident which helps him stay above water and can trick other larger fish to do his bidding. Nami heals and protects and summons tidal waves. Very Different. Gangplank killed MF's mother, so she's a pirate hunter to kill him, it was part of her Lore, there was a reason for them to be the same. Swain and Fiddlesticks use birds, one has crows and works off of his scareCROW theme, one can be a bird and so chooses to only surround himself with them (a raven or parrot or owl based on skin). There's nothing redundant about their differences, but when you group them together by Motif and not Lore, anything can seem too similar to use.
: Because instant stuns weren't healthy and it felt bad to play against Veigar because you got punished for buying your primary stat and as an AP. Game health > lore/thematics.
Agreed, but then what's the point of Lore that plays an irrelevant part in his abilities?
: Only negative thing I can really say about the new Swain.
I really loved his old concept. Like you said, feeble old guy with a bird...oh look he's crippled...oh look at the little --OMG WHAT IS THAT!?
: Wow, all the hate for him here. You guys are so hung up on the past that you can't appreciate the present. Swain is still Swain. He's the Noxian Grand General, and he has a commanding presence. Sure, Beatrice isn't there anymore, but let's be real - No one took the name "Beatrice the Raven" seriously. She was a relic from an old age, and I'm glad they expanded on the raven motif and have him always swarming with ravens. In the old lore, it heavily implied Swain wasn't in control of his own sense, that it was Beatrice that was controlling him. I didn't particularly like that, as it took away the agency from Swain himself. New Swain IS Swain, and he knows who he is. He's still drawing powers from his demonic ravens, but they haven't overridden his mind and his free thought. He's much more of a character now, and less of an aloof entity who might be a bird. The whole demon arm thing is likewise really cool, and it's a great way to express the possession, albeit incomplete. I also like the partial transformation in his ultimate, however much of an unpopular opinion that may be. I felt like the old transformation was just goofy looking, and I rather like him looking like some hellish dark angel than a skeksis from the Dark Crystal. Overall, Swain is a helluva lot more intimidating and interesting looking as a character. His kit looks pretty fun, and I can't wait to try him out. I think all this disdain for Swain is a bit uncalled for, and a bit too much of people clinging incessantly to the past. Embrace the future, it's newer, more sophisticated, and much better than the past.
You already pointed out many things that are wrong with him. >> I rather like him looking like some hellish dark angel But he's not a dark angel...Morgana is...that's missing the point of who he is. He's not Kayle or Morgana, and if he was, then why isn't he in their Lore? >> New Swain IS Swain, and he knows who he is. He's still drawing powers from his demonic ravens, but they haven't overridden his mind and his free thought. He's much more of a character now, and less of an aloof entity who might be a bird His mystery was the interesting part. It is SHOCKING for his enemies to discover that he's actually a demonic bird. There is nothing shocking about this Swain. Nobody is caught off guard by his appearance. He looks evil and dangerous, and like a villain from a popular book/movie series. Mystery and Birds were the main themes behind Swain. What is it now? His Look is Harry Potter. His W is Lord of the Rings. His R is Constantine. His Arm...is stupid. And why exactly does he heal from his ult now?...he's an essence drainer? So like Vlad...without blood? That makes no sense as there's no mythological bird that drains life. There IS the Raven Mocker...who is a witch...and has no birds. >> I'm glad they expanded on the raven motif and have him always swarming with ravens That's a Fiddlestick's thing. He swarms with Ravens because he's weak. Swain is a tactical genius. He NEVER needed many. He needed one large one, to root, Beatrice to slow, and himself to destroy. So not only is his look confused, but his kit makes no sense outside of strict gameplay.
: https://memegenerator.net/img/instances/500x/67285662/oh-no-hes-hot.jpg Holy shit, that Pirate Swain skin.
yeah pirate swain is the best
: There's nothing in this that feels like swain. They completely removed the majority of his character elements; The limp, Cane, Beatrice, Morphing into a Demonbird, the hiding of the face, etc. The new kit in no way reflects Swain. There's no DoT, no zone control effects, no transformation on demand and mana management. They created an entirely new champion with the thinnest veneer of Swain and tacked on the shitty edgelord anime look. Riot used to be so good with subtle changes to a kit or design that really improves on the character while keeping identity intact; Sejuani, Ashe, or Malphite being perfect examples. But lately if you like a character and kit older than 3-4 years better kiss it the fuck goodbye. Rito doesn't like how your champ plays and is going to strip it down to a name, turn every ability into a skill shot, and tack on the edgelord...

The kit seems ok but they gave his look the Yorick/Galio treatment, which is a complete failure to me. I completely understand that feeling. I just know with how volatile Boards can be with Riot that I'd like to at least hear a bit about _why_ they made their particular choices here. Trundle was a large miss for me for thematic matters that were plucked. Similarly, Galio lost a lot of his old sadness to me. I wasn't as attached to Yorick, but I can understand why people are offended there. I just know for me to continue playing this game, I have to realize that Riot will absolutely do things I do not like with certain characters. I'm doubtful there's going to be compromise on Swain lest there's serious, **serious** negative feedback about the lack of Beatrice/his transformation when he was already kind of niche. But I doubt the circumstances have changed much since the Trundle disgust where people wanting him hunched and hankering; Riot simply didn't have the money/resources that they were willing to attach to the added modeling work for his original fan base. So I'd like to hear the conversation at least.
Trundle and Karma....complete misses.
: Beatrice was never as integral to Swain’s character as Valor is to Quinn. It’s not a very fair comparison.
Uh yeah...she was in every ounce of his lore. His Q was dedicated to her. And she was in every single splash art.
: I thought it was just me. Normally i'm a solid 29, now i'm staying at 133. One strange thing I noticed though, 2 games so far that have gone past 35 minutes my ping goes back down to 29, maybe just a coincidence though. I tried power cycling my router and flushing my DNS, nothing seems to help lower my ping though. EDIT: My ISP is Fios as well
Same, if a game lasts long enough it goes back to normal. sometimes it's 30min, sometimes it's 12. But there's a clear time when everything becomes significantly smoother...until the next game.
: I don't remember, was AP Yi in Season 2 or 3? Because that was really meta warping.
That feels like so long ago, feeling old lmao. I think season 3 was the AP Yi season, 2013. I forgot about that. I don't know what was worse. The reach of his damage if there was a single minion between you, or how you can burst him, and if he had a sliver of life left, he would go back to 100% and pretend that never happened.....or was it how he could gank another lane in 5-10 seconds and have your team blame you for not following? That went on for half the year

: Each year, it's always a Korean team taking the championship and I just don't have an invested interest in foreign teams. NA teams don't usually make it far in worlds and they've never taken first place ever. So...I don't have a reason to pay any attention to the LCS scene. Also, at risk of going a little off topic, I hate how players try modeling everything they pick and buid off LCS without any kind of inkling as to WHY those things were done in LCS in the first place. And I'm told, "trust, it's op" every time I voice my doubts. And then it's gg for me because bronze and silver players just try playing copy pasta and ultimately fail at it.
It also affects players in a different way. Back in Season (.....) 2?, Soraka Mid was a thing. For those of us who used Soraka/Rylai's mid before the LCS, it was obviously a very safe pick with Kassadin being ridiculous against everyone. But when it became really popular, "Omg stop copying LCS, you're not pro". So if you did well, "cheap LCS tactic", and if you did badly from just a rough game, "report XXX, tried imitating pros and failed miserably". In either case, your ability to play the game is judged based on what people see professionals do. That same season, I saw a Fiddle support and laughed out loud, lost to it terribly and copied it for myself to success. Within a month it went from being an interesting gimmick to, Why the heck are there so many fiddle supports!?
: But at least they fixed him.
Eh......he will never be the same without an instant stun zone. His Ult is still his only source of guaranteed damage. And even then, they removed the anti-mage aspect to it. It doesn't make sense with his kit or Lore anymore...but it's functional.
DeusVult (NA)
: As a singed player, having Rylais not work as well with his Q poison trail would actually be a great thing for counterplay to him. ATM, he can currently escape most champs, and wins a trade by them following him. But once he gets Rylais, he has the raw stats from rylais and ult to run at someone, flip them, and then just run around them until they die. Between the Q slow, E reposition and Huge W slow, you can kill most people before they can get out of lane. I love singed, but playing against him once he gets Rylais is a terrible experience
> [{quoted}](name=DeusVult,realm=NA,application-id=3ErqAdtq,discussion-id=lAkwKT7Q,comment-id=000100010002,timestamp=2018-01-15T19:38:08.656+0000) > > he has the raw stats from rylais and **ult **to run at someone, flip them, and then just run around them until they die. Between the Q slow, E reposition and Huge W slow, you can kill most people before they can get out of lane. I'd be okay with adjustments, but what the OP is suggesting would ruin it for him, 1 second of CC...that refreshes after several seconds. It might as well be non existent. You said it yourself that with his ULT you still need to run around someone to die. Currently, as a fellow singed player, when he ults it's really just a stat steroid to get to someone and survive the trek to them. His gap closer is running. Once you fling them, there's close to nothing you can do to guarantee a kill. You use the slow to catch up or to make up time if they CC you, and once they are flung, what's keeping them behind you? His ult doesn't last forever, and most people have CC to prevent him from catching up a second time. I agree it is a pain to face one with Rylai's, but it's really a big issue. He has always been a kill-you-slowly champion. It still requires him in teamfights to run directly into the enemy with no immediate CC, no gap closer, face tanking damage. And in order to keep running in front of someone, he cannot pause to autoattack, and if he builds damage, he dies quickly, if he builds defensively then his gas tickles. He's so uncommon nowadays it's bizarre that people still get annoyed by his gimmick.
: That was when you were leveling or had low MMR. Season 2 two had a very established meta. The holy Trinity of Graves, Ezreal, and Corki ruled bottom lane and the only mids that mattered were Karthus and Orianna. If supports needed gold to function they were trash. Shyvanna, Mundo and Lee were the meta junglers. Renekton, Jayce, Rumble, and Shen were common tops. You all were too new if you think Season 2 was some weird wild west.
Xerath was also very popular mid. He was at the time one of the heaviest lane pushers. Toyz was really the only competive person worth watching with Orianna. The rest abused the karthus revive/teleport .

I've done this. It's the weirdest and most satisfying thing. Akali players immediately believe that they'l burst you in 2 seconds (which if fed they will do). But leveling up W first, and *Laning* with fiddlesticks, which isn't a good idea, feels wonderful. Q to stop her after the first dash, E to prevent her shroud, and the huge damage of W is great.
: I always thought the most compelling pvp mechanic in games, was the rock paper scissors checks and balances system, and when it was removed everyone inevitably just runs damage, but in league, I feel they left a few too many gaps, for instance, the most hotly argued thing, adc crit builds, there is essentially no real counter for it except build lots of hp and armor, which means your damage is gimped... and as we all know a no threat character, with a ton of self sustain and defense is ignored as much as they can be, since they arent even slightly a threat, they should add a secondary branch in the armor tree that is specifically anti crit, some bruiser or tank item that lets them face tank that heavy burst, maybe amp the skill up by making it an activated ability? With a decaying shield, once its gone, you can be crit again? dunno, just tossing ideas out. As for the towers, they really just need an all around buff, or some itemization that allows us to defend them, like old school Fortify, just not...busted, something like an inverted {{item:3056}} that has a redemption sized range activated, that drops a scaling shield, or increases the turrets fire rate and gives it aoe or something
I loved fortify. They didn't like that it prolonged games, but it was a summoner's spell. You lost kill potential to keep turrets alive.
: **What's Rylais' power fantasy?: ** In my opinion, it should be an utility item that sacrifices offensive power Basically i remember Morello stating around season 2 (a season where Rylai was built on like singed+morde+vlad+cass+ap kog) that Rylai would be built on mages if they want to help their team while reducing their damage **Who should be its intended users?: ** Any AP champion What stats would you suggest?: 500 hp 80 ap just like in season 2 **What passive/active?: ** same as right now but with a cooldown Basically: 20-8 sec cd (depending on levels) your next spell (any kind of spell) will slow targets by X% for 1 second Dealing damage will reduce the cooldown depending on the spell (like comet) Single target:-15% AOE:-10% Dot:-5% **What balance problems might your version of the item have?: ** hm don't know
This would make it useless for Singed who strongly relies on it to stick to people outside of his ult and Ghost.
: Why does Riot sacrifice gameplay experience for balance?
Or like Karma, they decide they don't like something, ignore it for 2 years, and then throw it away and say it was hard to work with. Kind of sounds like the Lore too...and the Journal of Justice...

I definitely like the end results of all of them in comparison. Please know that I hate Evelynn as a champion, but I'm trying to remain unbiased here and so I recognize that her rework was definitely a massively popular and improved job. > > Galio is a bit more complicated. From a Visual Update I think we can all agree he looks and plays a lot more smoother. I understand that people don't agree with his change from anti-ap tank -> anti-ap mage, but if you can put aside that disagreement his only *real* flaws were his numbers. > > Sej...ya. She looks really cool but is just a horrible design imo. Idk though. > > In total though, we've seen some massive improvements in reworks. I enjoyed him way more as tank than a mage, I'm sorry for me, its not just the numbers. They changed his story to make him more a protector, and then made his kit more an oppressor. His old kit fit his story more than his new one. Plus old Galio was straight up OP as fuck in URF. Nobody played him but he was basically unbeatable. He'd take down most of the "Meta" ap champs like Kat, Fizz, Sona no problem, and even the OP ad champs weren't too hard to beat either if you played right. Sej is just flat garbage. Its like playing a blue balls simulator, bout to pop... nope they got away, try again. I haven't played her hardly at all since her rework, and she was my go to jg before that. As I said I do like new WW, not a huge fan of new Xin Zhao though, and I haven't tried new eve or urgot yet, and I never played old Yorick.
Galio's change had the same effect as the Trundle change for me. The new lore, though far more detailed, isn't the most engaging. I loved both of their original stories, they were unique and their kits were made to match very well. That was back when Riot's writers worked with the development team before a launch. Now it seems that there's a general theme provided to each team, the champ dev and lore teams independently do their portions, and then come back later to merge them together. I like a good skillset, but I'd be willing to deal with a worse one with good compatibility to an engaging Lore.
: Upvote so Riot can see. Can we give Zoe's E the Fizz ult treatment? Opinions?
I think instead of completely nerfing it, which I'm sure in time they will do, require more interaction on Zoe's part to keep it's power. For example, leave the field, but have it only attach for 1 second, for the remaining 3 seconds it becomes a bomb. If Zoe's Q or R hit/enter it, it immediately pops, hitting champions within twice it's diameter. Champions hit are immediately put to sleep for 1 second and take half damage value from the ability. This way, it still keeps how long it stays around (4sec), but instead of being immediately rewarded, they need to sacrifice another ability to not make it a complete loss. The 1 second at the beginning is more of "If you dodge and STILL stick around, that's your fault not Zoe's"
: Literally nothing has changed since the beginning of this game in terms of how they go about fixing things that are broken. Remember AP Yi? That abomination (my favorite champ) was allowed to live for TWO SEASONS. Remember Soraka mid cuz of click target Q and E? Several patches after being FotM as well. AP Tryndamere? Same deal. Irelia? Yep. Mordekaiser? Uhuh. Blade of the Ruined King? (original) Assassin Meta? Shyvanna Top being a thing for several seasons via relying on extremely overtuned damage? Feral Flare? Devourer? Literally Ezreal about 8 times throughout the years? Zilean mid with click target ranged metric burst? Nunu top the most oppressive and meta thing at some point? Azir forever? Hecarim top? Jug Update Garen (took a few patches til they finally gutted him again)? Tank Kat x4-ish? Tank Fizz? Tank Ekko? Lulu top? Yasuo forever? Syndra's obnoxiously large stun hitbox that lasted over a season? Mordekaiser again? The list is much, much larger than that where broken things that were complained about took several patches or even seasons until they were addressed. Nothing has changed. They've been through this before. There's always gonna be a subset of players complaining, a majority of players who don't care and just play the game anyway or adapt, and a subset of twisted fucks who actually like things like Ardent Meta and Tank Fizz.
I just had to add a few more to your very accurate list: - Proxy Farming (yeah no, let {{champion:27}} prevent creep permanently from ever reaching you at lvl 3.) - {{champion:9}} permabounce Crows for half a season. - {{champion:24}} dodge % limit making him immune to 70% of attacks, ALL of season 2. - {{champion:79}} 1:1 ratio on Q and R until after Worlds (which I miss lol) - {{champion:2}} Meta - {{champion:4}} when his ult had a regular ultimate's CD. - {{champion:32}} {{champion:61}} When you realized that you were in solo queue and these were the first 2 chosen and your enemy is a duo queue #youLose

If people reach item spikes more slowly games will be longer and easier to balance. You will wind up with a lot less feast/famine situations where snowballing gets out of control and makes a match feel terribly unfair. No. You need to reward ppl for killing others so the reward part is fine, but it shouldnt be so easy. Junglers kill laners too easily atm. Basically jungler early game needs to be nerfed, towers need to be buffed, and the passive/ambient gold gain should be lowered by a bit.
Gold should be readjusted all around. I disagree that the kill reward is fine. Champion kills should have a time scaling value. It should push the incentive back to farming versus killing for the first 5 min. Then between 5 - 10 it should be equal, and then exceeding past that point. The benefit of a kill is not necessarily the gold, that's nice, but shouldn't be the objective. The real reward is the time they are forced out of lane, or not ganking. Back in seasons 1 and 2 there was an immense amount of focus on CS. If you didn't hit 100 CS in X time, you would get flamed by your whole team. Now people only care about kills. I agree with the rest: Wtf are towers now? It can hit a level 5 person 3 times and still leave 30% of their health. Ambient gold should be lower. Yes this also causes an issue for Supports, but then buff support gold items. They simply traded HoG and PS for talisman, relic etc. But this is far more interactive, which should be kept. Nerf early game junglers, or STRONGLY buff late game junglers. (Has anyone seen an amumu recently?) Make monsters more valuable than kills for the first 5 min, equal for 5 - 10min. Pushing the incentive again to delay farm should be more important than kills early. I used to like the early game fear. If their jungler was mia for 5min, you KNEW to enter their jungle and kill them or else they would hit level 6 before you and guarantee a kill. There used to be a strong trade off for ganking. If a gank FAILED, or you waited too long to engage, you knew that your jungler was ahead a level and an item. Junglers now can gank two lanes, and if they fail, immediately go back to farming and be on the same level as a jungler who is going from camp to camp, maybe some gold down unless they took minions. Gold distribution is what's really hurting the game. The power creep...well that will always be a problem they create, so that would need to be handled regularly.
: For real, revert Shaco, the AP state he is in is shameful. They don't understand that even though he was strong in solo-q, doesn't mean he needed to be nerfed beyond being playable. Shaco had always been strong, but not OP enough to be completely changed. How could they just change how a champ plays after 6 seasons? Poor InvertedComposer was a Yorick main since the beginning, he loved that champ, then they changed everything about him. After all of his hard time and effort to be put into that champion, he has nothing to show for it anymore. It is not just/only how strong or weak the champ is, it's about how they play, having FUN as the champion, League has changed too much, it isn't the game that we all had originally signed up for. Shaco nerfing doesn't help. {{summoner:3}}
Literally me for original Karma. Literally LOVED the duality of every ability. The amount of flaming I got all of 2011 for using her, eh was bad...but then her overhaul happened. She's insanely boring to use now, in comparison. I tried to like this one, but she's not fun to use. I definitely feel other people's pain when it comes to Riot forcing them to adjust to new changes. Like why even design a champion without complete certainty that you like how their kit works? Lee Sin used to be a HUGE issue, but never saw a single change.
Brocan (NA)
: How would you feel about giving up some of his stealth time in order to return some of his old damage? One of the more annoying things about Shaco in general (in my opinion) is that you have a set amount of wards to catch him on his way to your lane, and the ability to only have one of those wards see him while stealthed. With almost a 5 second stealth that gives him a mountain of time to get into position for a gank. I never used to be bothered by Shaco's burst out of stealth (probably because I was a pre-rework Talon main), but I was bothered by how hard it was to hope you dropped the right wards in jungle or behind you that he can't just come into your lane scott-free. I feel like stealth time for power would be fair. Thoughts?
His Invisibility starts at 1.5 sec....how much more do you want to nerf it? I'm not a shaco expert, but how often is Q maxed first anymore? By the time it becomes a good amount of time, at best most people are already level 6 and can erase you.

: Year In Review Champion Quotes
{{champion:61}} So strange, they scream I played one game this year, computer issues.
: {{champion:67}} Everything about her kit makes me want to eat my keyboard. To make things worse it seems like she gets defended by nearly everyone (including the balance team), so it always takes ages for her to get nerfed whenever she inevitably becomes too strong. {{champion:81}} Godlike poke in and out of lane. Flexible build paths, all of them annoying to deal with. It's nearly impossible to catch him as a melee champion unless he screws up first. {{champion:43}} Dealing with her is just a large pain as a melee champion. Any ranged champion with both a speed boost and a slow is always annoying, but she gets a tedious shield mechanic on top of that. Can build tanky with Abyssal Mask and Warmogs then becomes nearly immortal.
You forget, she also has a root. She IS anti-melee.
: it's an attempt at a joke that's trying to prove a point that pink wards shouldnt have been removed because the reasoning is flawed. or something like that. this is memes and games after all. im going to go out on a limb here and guess that it's being implied that you can avoid pink ward placement by not walking into the view of the pink ward as an assassin. or maybe it's suggesting that invisibility shouldnt have a counter item. idk. maybe the original poster really meant that they could block spears with wards. i doubt it but maybe.
My goodness when did you start this game? Bless you, you haven't seen the ridiculousness. It was an ongoing things for 4 years that Nid's spears are sometimes invisible. The running joke was that you couldn't counter her because you can't adjust your playstyle if you can't see what's coming. It was fixed, at least for the most part, and people would still cry that spears were too strong and that they were still invisible, instead of accepting that they were slow and could be dodged. The joke to the terrible players was to put up pink wards to counter Nid...to see **invisible** spears. Irony is that the issue really was solved by seeing a spear with a pink ward during that buggy mess, and another irony is that people just let their champions stand around waiting to get hit.

: I feel like the last really good rework was probably the one they did to either yorick or taric and even ryze was ok. I think ryze is just always gonna have issues since the idea of comboing spells gives too many options if you want to make it feel good. but yorick and taric both are really good both design wise and gameplay wise (even though yorick isn't played that much)
Yorick's was a GREAT rework. I stayed up the night he was originally released until I could buy and play him. And he was terrible....just so bad...his ult decayed over 5 seconds, his Q also had to chance the person despite landing an auto, it just made no sense. His new abilities make so much sense. Don't get me wrong, I got to Gold with him, but it wasn't particularly fun. Taric I never tried, but people seem happy with him. Ryze you're right, he's always going to have an issue. But then it has the same underlying issue, because they buffed him they had to make his Q a skillshot because it was too powerful as a point and click. Nothing's wrong with point and click, unless you can spam them a dozen times to win (ryze/cass) Those were good examples

: k. thanks for the feedback. its nice to hear a bit about it even though you don't play anymore.
np. People just grow attached to a playstyle and when things change sometimes the things you found fun die with it. I still love the game, it just sucks to see that people feel the way I did during rework time. There have been good reworks, but it's not common.

Those are literally opposite game styles. Why on earth would a player who loves Akali want to play her like that? Unless it's a full VGU where it's going to be so different from the original product that it's a different champion and requires to be fully relearned. You can't honestly expect someone to not need to relearn at least some aspects of a champion after a rework. Reworks change how champions function, of course you'd have to relearn them!
The issue is not that a rework always forces you to relearn a champion. This specific issue is that Akali is being reworked...again...and that leads to permanent issues that don't get rehashed. The last time she was changed, several elements things were changed for the worse (like immediately being visible upon exited the shroud), and Riot has a policy against reversing changes despite them being flawed. It is actually not a terrible argument for any rework, because it's anti-champion rework, which makes it EXACTLY the correct argument. The reason Riot reworks anything is because they rather add new elements to the game than create a new champion or change itemization. If they don't like the direction that Akali is in, keep the way she is played, fix her ratios and change items so that they enhance how she is played. : and see this is what sometimes confuses me. I personally have a lot of fun learning something new. I guess I'm different from most players but learning something new is always super fun. I know its gonna be rough but once you relearn her my guess is that she will legitimately be as good as she is on live servers. maybe I'm wrong but this is just my opinion
Having to relearn a champion has the same effect as them saying _**"We know you lived through this fantasy, but that fantasy has come to an end because we thought it was unpleasant. So we're taking your vampires/zombies and giving you muppets".**_ It's devastating... If you want something new, find a new champion with different abilities. That was actually part of Riot's mission statement in 2010, that new champions came out every 3 - 4 weeks to keep the game fresh for those who need new things to learn. People who enjoy a champion like the feeling they get from everything that they've practiced and most likely done ranked with. Having played since season 1, when Karma was turned into what she is now, I had to stop playing her for months...at a time I was playing 4-6 hours every single day. I used Soraka since day 1 and Cassiopeia the day she came out. Do you know what it's like to have to stop playing your favorite champion because their gameplay went in the opposite direction, their ratios were changed on a weekly basis due to Riot not knowing how effective they were, deciding what to rank first changing regularly because effects too are removed biweekly, nobody caring to read about the changes and hence not being able to react to what you're doing? I've actually stopped playing LoL, but I come to the site to see the newest updates and to comment. Now I just do Overwatch and Smite on Xb1 because my comp is essentially outdated. But the lingering memories I have of 5 years of playing is, "wow, I had these amazing games when I was doing my best. it's a shame that I couldn't relive that if I were to join back today because of the *rework* happening. So I would have to move on to so-and-so champion...eh nvm I'll stick to something else." It's weird to keep that mentality, but unfortunately that's what stuck around.
: Well, her ult when used against the full team effectively makes her a fully built hp tank.
Not disputing what she is capable of now, it's just nostalgic to think about what she used to be good at. But as long as she sees play it's a good thing

: I really dont think the new hextech items are even FOR league of legends.
: doesn't mean he isn't tanky. hes just kitted as assassin and mage before tank. but hes still a tanky nightmare for some. Point is, they have Assassins that are tanky as all hell. Evelynn is another Assassin Tanky
It's so sad that Evelynn is considered a tanky assassin :'(. What happened to my baby? I really don' think original Eve was that bad if you had added the new passive feature where she appears within a radius.
: ANNNNNDDDD he was viable and broken. Then nerfed back into oblivion. :/
And while he was bot there were still ADC's on the map in top and mid lane. So, I was right, he never replaced an ADC, he simply switched lanes with one.
