: I LOVE LOTUS HOLY SHIT UPVOTE INTO OBLIVION
Yeah but you know that Riot is going to fuck it up and they will make it a mostly ghost-blue theme like her halloween skin, a colour scheme I find to be extremely boring amongst ghost morgana, gangplank, and others.
: I know! This is so frustrating and honestly, it just makes me more pessimistic for the next skin they make for her. I just feel that even if they made it, it would just be another military skin because how can they remember the animosity lux players felt when the situation happened over 2 years ago. Steel legion lux was such a huge oversight, and I cant believe it didnt occur to anyone at riot, "that oh wait lux already has 3 military skins(including her classic) and 2 magic skins, maybe we should do something different but also relates to lux"?? I remember that when it hit the PBE everyone was so mad, and a lot of players felt we wouldnt get another skin for a long time, even though morello said it would come out sooner than most other skins, which is total bullshit. Even newly released champions have gotten another skin. Thinking about that whole situation just makes me sick to my stomach and very upset. Its gonna take a lot from riot to change my feelings about them. I tweeted to morello and he responded... but it honestly gives me no hope. F*** riot honestly. https://twitter.com/RiotMorello/status/505420115030994944
It actually has more to do with the fact that she is Garen's sister. Riot has made this huge mistake of not actually focusing on Lux. Every Lux skin release has been to pair up with Garen's skins releases. She's the baby doll that Riot plays dress up with to match Garen's skins. Basically, whenever Garen got a skin, they made an exact copy for Lux so that they could be cute "matching" siblings. The image of Lux has suffered because of this.
: They have your money, and they could not care less about giving it back to you. Their philosophy is that they allow everyone 3 refunds, and then you can go $#@! yourself if you're not happy after that.
There could be ZERO refunds and it would be perfectly legal. The thing with content such as champion skins is that you are not actually intellectually OWNING that material. You are simply purchasing it to add it to your account. Riot has the right to change any content they own, and they are not obliged to give refunds to people who don't agree with the change. If people got what they wanted, then you could simply refund EVERY RP PURCHASE EVER if you didn't like the new patch notes because they made a change to the game. The truth is, buying skins does not give you a right to refund. Riot simply offers 3 refunds as a courtesy.

: The art is great but I feel I'm looking to another person because of the face, In my opinion **"IF"** Riot really don't know how to do it right (the face), they should try take some advices from [Knockwurst](http://knockwurst.deviantart.com/art/LoL-Ahri-279827218) (the guy that made all her splashs until Foxfire) or make the [artist that did the Popstar splash](http://michellehoefener.deviantart.com/gallery/) (this one was ok) do the classic one too. The thing is all this art and the new splash that was removed are good but it's important to maintain the same face, because you're going to end with a totally different character if you don't and this is sad :( --- *Edited because I got misinterpreted a little... {{champion:32}}
Look. I like Knockwurst. I do. But his style doesn't suit League, it never did. That's pretty much why they have slowly been deleting the work he did for main splash art and have been replacing it with better ones. Ever noticed all the new art we got lately was to replace Knockwurst's work? Hmmm...
: I really don't like any of them, I hate that she's these weird, seductive poses. I know that's her personality and her story, but can't she have an action shot like EVERYONE else instead of an "Oh, look how sexy I am" pose?
Her combat involves seducing her enemies, so the seduction in an action pose is appropriate and well thought of. Her whole fighting style is based around seduction and tricks, so forget about it if you're going to try and argue that Ahri is a melodramatic fighter when she's clearly not.
HengTai (NA)
: > i liked the one they removed. i don't understand why they listened to like the 5 people who complained about it (◡‿◡✿) Well if it was just "like 5 people", then Riot wouldn't have changed anything. In reality it was a very large portion (if not a large majority) that did not like the splash art that, in turn, caused Riot to take down and/or revise the splash art. You're entitled to your own opinion, but don't go on trying to pretend like it was a small minority who didn't like the new splash and straw-man the entire scenario.
That's not the reason why it was taken down. It was taken down because someone complained that it looked too much like her fan art. There were complications involved with that, especially since the two peices did look so much alike, despite being unique in their own way. So Riot took it down to re-do it completely.

: How Ahri's New Splash Should Look When It Comes Out
Artgerm did much more than just preview art. He was commissioned to do posters for Janna, Ahri and Katarina as a 3-peice set, which were sold at events like PAX and were displayed at season finals (last season). I personally do not think his art style is suitable for splash art. His art is 100% better than any league splash I know, which is why his style does not suit the theme we have going in league. He has a very distinct style if you flick through his deviantart and much of it does not give a unique look to champions, its more like super racecar track models dressed up in cosplay.
: There are millions of players playing LoL right now, and I doubt people play with their mothers. Most builders don't kick since they want to get into a game ASAP, and most of the kicks are legit for ex. fiddle adc. Like that is just ridiculous. Based on personal expierence, when I que up for mid, it takes around 5-10 minutes, but building, I get a full team in 1-2 minutes. This shows how efficient team builder was.
Just so you know, there aren't actually millions of players playing LoL right now. Those "statistics" that you've read about are actually warped to create an illusion. Millions of players play LoL, they never specified how many all at one specific time, and how many of those people were actually in a 5v5 PvP game, not just sitting online or doing custom matches or different maps.
: Team Builder needs friend now?
Actually this is not a recent thing at all. This was a patch some time ago. So you must be mistaken. It was to reduce queue times so that you had friends sitting your lobby rather than just one person starting lots of rooms, which in turn means that there are more rooms for the LFG players to fill, thus scatter and never actually form a whole group. Basically, just a big musical-chairs of players hopping between rooms one by one instead of pooling together. You don't need a friend to play team builder. Simply choose Join, not create.
: 2 graphical bugs that are in the new summoners rift
The new map is also stuck on the lowest graphical settings for me and setting them to high doesn't change anything. Looks so bad.
: Actually the first one is a dragon shadow that flies around the map, so the fist one is not a bug. Now the second one is one,
The first one is Azir's shadow... Its a bug alright.
: Why are you the rank you are?
Really nice idea, but I already know I am at this rank because I suck at league.

Increasing saturation makes the map look better by itself, but the map should not be the focal point of the game, the champions and their abilities should be. The map was created to be a backdrop for champions and VFX. We tried to make it beautiful without intruding on the play experience. I really appreciate the comments posted here and I absolutely acknowledge that increasing saturation/contrast on a piece of artwork will make it feel more vibrant, but in the context of a game the art is not their for it's own sake, it is a tool for gameplay. What League needs is a map that allows teamfights to be more readable. While I think there is room for improvement in the map (And we will continue to develop on it) I do think that the approach we have taken serves the entire League experience in a very successful way.
I am playing on the highest settings available and this is what my map looks like. In a different thread it has been said that there is a bug where the map is low-res no matter what setting you put it on. It starts out on the lowest setting for everyone, which most people have said was fixed by changing their graphics to low and then back to high. I did that, but my map still did not change. Therefore it is a bug. As much as I respect your efforts, I think you would have saved a lot of time and money just deleting the whole map and have the champions play in space, since the map seems to not matter at all in terms of visuals. Afterall, its just a space for us to play in...
: LeeDark explains it well. Tencent is what makes it relatively easy for Riot to market to China as well. I don't think Tencent actually makes any decisions, however, and Riot headquarters is based in California. So for all intents and purposes, they are an American company.
Tencent doesn't make any decisions? All the older (and even new) champions have had their model updated to match CHINESE splash art, not the splash art that Riot had created for them. *Every* update that a champion has had, they were converted to how China drew them, not how Riot drew them. The new Janna, Tryndamere, Evelynn, Ashe, Katarina -- everyone was converted to China's version of them. **This is why** Riot was finally okay with adding chinese splash art to the game -- because they actually matched the new models and upcoming models. Ever noticed how Riot celebrates chinese new year's (Lunar Revel), but not our own new years? Ever noticed how we stopped celebrating american holidays but now we're celebrating chinese holidays? Ever noticed how we have slowly started to censor out the offensive visuals according to CHINESE LAW? Cigars, but most importantly, BONES! Karthus is now wearing a full-coverup and Sion lost his bone-arm. Since bones are in fact offensive and censored in China! So don't tell me that Riot is an american company. Are the people at Riot HQ american? Sure. But you guys will never realize how much this game has converted to Tencent's vision of it rather than Riot's.

: for some reason new SR defaulted to low everything, so when I first logged in I wasn't impressed cause it was super fuzzy. However after discovering the problem and turning up my settings I did like the changes. I like the more subtle muted colors compared to the brighter colors of old SR. The waterfall on bot lane really caught my eye. Which is both good and bad. I LOVE the waterfall. It's fantastic, however During the heat of battle I found my eye getting attracted to the waterfall, and distracting from the battle we had going on. I think the muted colors do help differentiate between players, minions, and background. I found I wasn't getting lost in the action as much. I do have a minor splash gripe with the minimap. {{champion:81}}'s portrait icon on the map had me confused with {{champion:102}}'s portrait at one point (it's a bluish tint to his skin caused from the shadow). Is there a way to increase the icon size so that it's a little easier to read?
How did you fix your league? My settings are still on ultra high and they still look so blurry and shit. I've tried lowering them and raising them again but nothing. Ezreal's icon looks like everyone elses icon. It doesnt look like ezreal on the minimap. I keep thinking its someone else, like someone blue. The yellow doesnt stand out that much so you'd never guess it was a blondie ganking you.

: I think all of the new splash arts are really helping convey this style. So much so that I hope they redo every champion in order to go with this new look. Also on a side note. The new champion splashes make it so that their little portrait when they get a kill/get killed is a circle. Kind of going with that softer look still.
But it has always been a circle since the game was released. Did you never see it before?
: New Summoner's Rift Bot Lane Bushes
As far as I know, multiple brushes have been reduced in size, intentionally. Especially the one opposite Blue buff.
: well it is in beta so chances are what we are viewing is not the actual complete product. So.....yeah...
The map has been out on the PBE for months. You don't think they would have fixed such a blatant issue, with the WHOLE map looking fucking terrible?
: New Summoners' Rift - I cannot stand it...
I hate the new map too but I came here only to refute your first point. The 10 second rule is to help those people with low-end computers that don't load the game until a few seconds in. So mean while, one team loads in straight away then goes to invade enemy jungle, whilst the other team is lagging behind and gives the enemy a headstart. The 10 second rule was to prevent people from complaining about lag and how unfair it is that the enemy can bumrush their jungle.
NJREpoh (NA)
: New Summoners Rift is drab and washes out colors - Its ugly
I think trying to relate skins with the map is a joke and Riot won't take you seriously if you go down that road. That's like a 5 year old crying that they will not go to school because their mom didn't buy them that shiny lollipop at the store. I think the new map is ugly, but I have always said this ever since it's early preview. Riot will never change it now that they have put too much work in it, however. I seriously doubt they will fix all the issues that we have been talking about for months and months now. The map is too grey, pastel-coloured. Riot has backed this up with an excuse of "layers", with the map being the bottom layer and thus must be more desaturated than the champions ("middle layer"). From an Artist's point of view this is a load of bollocks since the champion visuals are supposed to be immersive and work with the environment, not against it. Put any of one of the hundred champions on the new SR map and tell me that they look like they belong. The truth is they just don't. Nothing belongs in the new SR map, even if Riot is trying it's hardest to create a theme for itself (like those ugly mutant birds and frogs on LSD that keep popping up in LoL lore). Even the store's base doesn't look right -- "Hey guys, the enemy team is pushing our nexus, we should all corner ourselves into that very narrow over-hanging cliff that is falling apart, we'll be safe there. Surely they can't get us." As much as I used to have faith in Riot over their service to their fans, I think they have also partially given up on us. Much of the league community is quick to complain about the smallest of things and so I feel like Riot has learned to ignore a portion of the feedback and label it as irrelevant. The only times Riot has really changed something about league is when a massive voice is put forward and the community groups together to be the loudest opinion. But relying on the loudest opinion alone will not do for the new SR map. It's the smaller crap too that matters here. The map itself looks like a horrible resolution. I thought that even if it was ugly and washed out, the scale is all wrong. The floor in the base is made of massive flat stone with no textures at all, and the map is very pixelated. It looks like a smaller resolution stretched out to fit my screen. Nothing about the textures fits at all. The models look GREAT, the towers are GREAT, everything that is 3D rendered looks massively polished and extremely beyond my expectation. But the 2D textures still remain blurry and pixelated around the edges like as if they are not in HD, which is a big disappointment. Especially for myself, as a player on ultra-high settings.
: hmmmm i was under the impression that the new sr map might be buggy but who knows
Yes, I hope it is a bug that the res is so low. If its not a bug then the new map was such a huge step backwards.

: Where's the visual love for Taric?
He will get a VU just like everyone else. They started working on his VU a long time ago when I heard rumours and saw screenshots of new pajamas, but I'm not sure if they've kept up with it or not. All VUs take time though, especially a drastic one for Taric, which will probably be as drastic as Sivir's VU.
: I agree, but I'm talking an **adverse** difference, a more lithe and matured look than broke away from the baby-faced fem-fatal look we get so often.
Yeah I was thinking about that too. I'm all for feminine differences, after all, it's the reason why Riot artists have looked to real-life influences to help their characters be more diverse in face (lady gaga - diana, natalie portman/audrey hepburn - leona, and a few others).
Drakoniak (EUW)
: I think we heve yet to see much from fiddlesticks yet, if you look at his splash art you will notice that he holds a key on his neck. What is that key purpose? Where did he get that key? Is it the reason he never left the room? Perhaps is the key that allows the bearer to open a door for other dimension possibly from where he / shaco and nocturne came from?
As far as we know from the lore, something something dungeons and fiddle sneaking out / stealing a key / guarding the room. I don't remember exactly since I last read it in season 1. But personally I like to think its the key to thresh's heart.
: Friendship of Shaco, Fiddlesticks and Nocturne Theory
But what about the hand-holding between fiddle and thresh?!??? I'm asking the real questions here
: Because people believe that showing a fictional character smoking is actually worse than Hitler. I'm not surprised Riot decided to cower and remove it. Murder, A-ok. Smoking, what are you satan himself?
I thought it had more to do with Tencent (the chinese company that owns Riot). In China they have censored stuff like smoking and bones. I thought this was why they were slowly removing the "offensive" stuff like Sion's dead arm and soon Mundo's injection. Don't quote me on that though because it's not like I'm a riot official making a statement. Just an observation.
: Nice work there! This would be a welcome change~ (Not saying rito did bad on it, they were probably going for trying to make janna look different from most of the other ladies in the game, just didn't go over well.)

: This is another example of a direction riot is going that i dont appreciate. They are removing, little by little, all these cool things that show how fun the team was. It seems like they are just starting to take themselves too seriously, and it is starting to hamper the fun a bit.
This is not a new thing. Riot has been doing that ever since season 3. Towards the end of season 3 they started to do awkward videos of "behind the scenes" where they would discuss how League came to be and how "unique" and "fresh" it is compared to the classic RPG world, then followed that statement up with how new Ryze's concept was because he's "not like your ordinary wizard with a beard". Yeah, totally no sarcasm in that video either. Sadly though thats just how things are. The game has improved from what it used to be, but its a double-edged blade. The changes are both good and bad.
: I have a feeling that this might have done to reduce extraneous buffs out of the buff bar. The ninja's flipping ninja buffs and GP's and MF's respective pirate/pirate hunter buffs don't actually add anything to their core gameplay, and were just cool to have. That said, I probably will miss the ninja buff on Kennen when I play him.
But those buffs did something! For every ninja on the team, the ninja would get 1 less HP. For example, if you played as akali and your friends picked shen and kennen, then you'd have -2 base hp.
: I find this title misleading, because I can't tell if you are talking about lore change or nerfs to champs. If that is the case GP and MF have gotten buffs rather than nerfs, akali deserves some nerfs (besides I use these things called pink wards). Also, we don't need anymore stealth champions, because that mechanic is just too damn good on junglers, especially when it comes to pub stomping. We already have: Rengar, Kha'zix, Akali, Shaco, Evelyn, Teemo, Vayne, and Wukong. Every one of these forces the player to spend 100 gold just to not get a surprise all in.
OP is talking about a stealth nerf where Riot has removed the secret "buff" icons that those champions had. Shen, akali and kennen all had flippin' ninja buffs and gangplank/missfortune had pirate buffs. Now that they're removed, they're boring.
: I have a feeling that there will end up being a massive Yordel update in the future.
Possible for the future. But not any time soon. I feel like Riot won't approach the Yordels vs old Meglings issue until they feel like they have some solid ideas. For now, we just have the mysterious "hairless blue yordels" that is Tristana and Poppy.

Where were you when Riot put the new Summoner's Rift months and months and months ago? They are only just releasing it now, I hope they feel like adding something to it after all this time on PBE.
: Kudos to the Riot art team...
I like the new art, although Janna looks questionable... The new Ahri art was fantastic as well but I heard they pulled it since some fan made a fuss about it looking too much like her fanart. I do really love the splashes though. What I like the most is that I found out they have started using a deviant artist who was responsible for the Veloce character and related comics/art. I had been following that artist for many years and was pleasantly surprised to see them do some pieces for Riot.
: @Riot: Can Riven's skin tone have a little more consistency?
Look at Janna too :( Janna is so dark, I wonder why? She was always drawn and shown to be very pale. But her classic skin is extremely tanned compared to her old model. I noticed it straight away the day they remade her.

: I tell a lot of people about bush based ultimates, and how they become an after thought in many team fights because you're not going to always have a bush. Even if you somehow do, it wont always be placed where you need it. With this kit you can basically scratch off (in many team fights) their w and r. Depending on where "Pit Fall Trap" is placed, it's use may never be used or it maybe misused. Examples: team fight happens away from your traps/ an enemy steps in the trap before your team is in position to engage on it. That being said it's a good piece to the kit. To accent that, I'd recommend having the ult also activate when they're near a champion snared by pitfall or affected by "Clouded Hit". Ult cooldown reduced if used on a champion snared by "Pit Fall Trap" or affected "Clouded Hit". This brings more use to "AMBUSH!" and "Pit Fall trap". Even in your lore they trapped the person first before they attacked. This would make their jungle presence, much much more effective.
To be fair, that could just mean that you are forcing the enemy to fight away from brush and making them paranoid about position. Yasuo can't ult without a knockup, similarily depending on something that won't always be there. I get it though, the twins can't *place* a brush in their kit the way Yasuo can place a knockup, but it could be interesting to create a champion who relies on semi-luck or position. Such as Caitlyn's brush passive, or Nidalee's tactical movespeed, or Rengar's brush pounce.
: Support Changes
Braum and Morgana are banned because of their kits. I don't think there are any buffs you can give to other supports to put them on the same level. Simply put, other supports ARE on the same level, it's just that depending on your MMR, people don't trust bot lane to not lose to those two. They are also strong teamfighters in that Braum has a stun as a *passive* and Morgana can shield her ADC to ensure survivability. Unless you want to give a Braum passive and a Morgana shield to every other support champion, then imho there are no changes needed. They're flavours of the month for now, only Braum is a new champion and Morgana had always been a top ban in the earliest seasons of League. She was just simply forgotten along the way because of buffs to other mid-lane champions, which pushed her to a favoured support role.
: Some QOL changes Lux could use
I'm even-scored on this idea. I've played lux for hundreds of games, with 280 ping as my regular ping. The idea is great and all, I mean perfect, faster E-pops right? But at the same time it can do the exact opposite. I spam my E just to get it to cast, and I would be sort of sad if my E popped when I wasn't trying to tell it to pop, I was just trying to get it to cast. Zyra's passive makes it so that you can shoot a thorn after you die, but a lot of people accidentally shoot thorns when all they were doing was shooting skillshots before they even knew they'd be dead. There's a fine line between function and convenience here.
: If they did work on her model, what do they do with that weird hat thingy. I don't see why she's wearing it because I don't see Katarina wearing anything that awful on the top of her head. Yeah I get the snake-like stuff, but I'd personally prefer that her base skin have something more in line with Katarina, but with a snake's tail. It isn't like she can't wear all of her old tops all of a sudden. Even if that means they both need an update towards the same basic style, I think that'd be better than Cass as is. Don't get me wrong, her original direction was okay back in the day, but I kind of expect more thematic cohesion from riot now. Plus she can always get a traditional skin in the worst case scenario.
In the lore, Cassiopeia was a "beautiful" woman, with lots of hair and flair and what have you. When she turned into a snake, her hair "hardened" and transformed into that headdress. Personally, I'd like to see her keep it -- it's a bit of a signature to Cass. I prefer her appearance to be more venomous snake-like rather than a woman with a snake butt.
: Lesser of two evils: The old forums need to stay, to preserve how nice these are currently
It's not just that though. But we also need the old boards for older means, such as clan/team recruitment.
: Favorite Skins?!
My favourite skins are all simple yet good-looking skins. I don't like clunky, flashy, or crowded skins. Or skins that are just one solid colour (championship thresh, draven's blue skin, every fire-ice skin ever).
