: I love how you guys claim that you despise snowballs or unbalanced games and now this thread which proposes exactly that has at this moment 31 upvotes. >0-10 Minute: Lane phase 10-20 Minutes: Team Phase 20-30 Minutes: End Phase >Late Game 30-40 Minutes: Over Time Phase Here's a few things about LoL you don't seem to understand: 1) laning phase usually lasts until the 1 or more tier 1 turrets fall (with a few exceptions but rarely). to force the lane phase to last exactly 10 minutes, turrets should be indestructible for 10 minutes and to force team fight phase at 10+ minutes you would need to instantly destroy turrets at 10 minutes. Sweet right? 2) Team Phase >Team Phase: the point in the game where lane phase has ended, teams are grouping up, picking off towers and focusing more so on obtaining objectives Essentially you want to kill most split push champions as well as assassins. As these characters do not want to group. To do this, you will have to delete: {{champion:266}} {{champion:84}} {{champion:164}} {{champion:131}} {{champion:36}} {{champion:245}} {{champion:28}} {{champion:114}} {{champion:105}} {{champion:150}} {{champion:420}} {{champion:39}} {{champion:24}} {{champion:126}} {{champion:38}} {{champion:141}} {{champion:121}} {{champion:240}} {{champion:75}} {{champion:107}} {{champion:92}} {{champion:35}} {{champion:98}} {{champion:27}} {{champion:14}} {{champion:91}} {{champion:48}} {{champion:23}} {{champion:77}} {{champion:62}} {{champion:157}} {{champion:238}} If you have a better solution as to how to force teams to group instead of looking into split pushing or assassination, I'd like to hear it. Also, note, team fights, outside of bronze, and probably outside of silver, often happen when you reach your power spike items. And only a select few champions can obtain their power spike items by 10 minutes, a lot of them need 2+ (as in 18+ minutes per average game time). Which means, most players will avoid team fights in 10-20 minutes mark if they know what they are doing and their heroes didn't reach their power spikes. Which is again where assassins come into play because they reach their power spike faster, at 1 and 2 items compared to other classes, and this allows them to assassinate people and be stronger even in 1v2s. Which means: you need a sever gold influx in the first 10 minutes to make up for this predicament. Such as: double minion gold and double ambient gold. And again, assassins are really strong at 2 items and a bunch of other characters want more than 2 items. And ofc once more, this can be "solved" with the severe increase in gold, as well as deleting of most if not all champions mentioned above. Next: 3) 20-30 Minutes: End Phase >End Phase; The phase in the game where the team with a lead should be looking for a way in how to end and should end around 30 minutes nop, this won't happen. Why? again, items, power spikes and hp of objectives. Given how you forcefully keep turrets alive for 10 minutes, the other team can just turtle behind them for those 10 minutes. And given how assassins and split pushers are deleted, most things that are left are adcs and control mages. Which translates into: farm till 6 items games. And look around baron. One bad team fight ends the game. Late Game 30-40 Minutes: Over Time Phase >Over Time Phase: Both teams played very well, and the majority of the game was pretty fifty fifty and could of gone either way, because both teams played good with their own share of mistakes, the game took 40 minutes So, the only way to force "late game" at 30-40mins, give both teams and influx of 100.000 gold to reach their late game state. Which btw, will now proceed to literally kill all early and mid game game champions: {{champion:266}} {{champion:103}} {{champion:84}} {{champion:1}} {{champion:22}} {{champion:136}} {{champion:164}} {{champion:122}} {{champion:131}} {{champion:119}} {{champion:245}} {{champion:60}} {{champion:28}} {{champion:81}} {{champion:9}} {{champion:105}} {{champion:86}} {{champion:104}} {{champion:59}} {{champion:126}} {{champion:43}} {{champion:141}} {{champion:121}} {{champion:7}} {{champion:64}} {{champion:127}} {{champion:90}} {{champion:21}} {{champion:82}} {{champion:76}} {{champion:56}} {{champion:2}} {{champion:80}} {{champion:133}} {{champion:58}} {{champion:421}} {{champion:107}} {{champion:92}} {{champion:68}} {{champion:35}} {{champion:72}} {{champion:17}} {{champion:77}} {{champion:6}} {{champion:254}} {{champion:106}} {{champion:19}} {{champion:101}} {{champion:5}} {{champion:83}} {{champion:115}} {{champion:142}} As if they are unable to snowball until this point, they become worthless. When in all reality, I simply tried my best to keep the post short and to the point to reach a wider audience. This post isn't about "balance' this post is about the most satisfying sweet spot for the ideal league time. Historically people enjoy the thirty minute clock, and complain mostly when the games are dramatically to long, or dramatically to short. I than go into explaining why both early game meta and late game meta sucks, and the most ideal meta is when teams can play both strats, and we HAVE HAD patches where that existed. What stops those metas from existing is over the top game changes that makes riot have to start the math problem all over again in how to bring it back to the sweet spot of balance. I can easily explain and pick apart your points, but fact is, it simply isn't worth the time and effort. This posts pure discussion opener is to say. "30 minutes is fun" "40 minutes should be possible if both teams played a very fifty fifty game" "early game metas suck and here's why" "late game metas suck and here's why" You are trying to make this topic about balance, which isn't what it is at all. But what can I say, literally everyone here clearly understood the purpose of this post and gave their own two scents of what metas and game times they feel are the most fun and fair to play on. Everyone except you : P

: I really wonder how Smurfs do it so easily
The simple answer is, you just don't let the enemy team get a lead. What smurfs are amazing at, they say "oh I never try hard" but fact is they try hard every game. And when they do, they get a lead near instantly, killing their lane opponent level two or three, than after that they roam furiously across the making sure no one is ever given a advantage. Basically they are playing on a mode, against players so easy for them, due to low elos inabiltiy to understand how to stop a snow ball, that a smurf can just be a global map terrorist at any point in the game, making sure games never get to the point where they become "hard"

I avoided the first three classes you mentioned for the gap between Kha zix and a full powered Chogath is way to far apart, for calling "void born" a consistant measurement of power, for even malzahars fledglings are void born. So you can have a fledgling which is below even a human, and than a full powered Chogath, which is probably almost at living god tier status. Just to big a gap, especially when Kha zix is rengars equal in power. Than you have Thresh where we don't even have the faintest clue of his power. But I guess as a whole most the undead in this game at the bare minimum hit "wizard" status. As for Prophets, Malz and Elise we never seen their full extent but Illaoi would probs be on the Goddly vessels scale. for your final three questions Tahm, and Evelyn same thing with not enough info to rate, and Nocturne needs a lore update, we also don't know if his powers only effect humans or can harm someone like renekton/nasus, but at the bare minimum since we know he can kill humans with ease, he is most likely on the "meta humans" scale, perhaps one tier higher.
: So is Kayle an Ascended now?
I woulden't take anything riot says about Kayle or Morgana seriously for a while, for with the current lore power levels what we have is {{champion:104}} : Mortals/Humans {{champion:105}} : Yordles {{champion:107}} : Vastayans {{champion:79}} : Meta humans {{champion:13}} : Wizards {{champion:58}} : Blessed warriors {{champion:80}} : Goddly Vessels {{champion:34}} : Living Gods {{champion:136}} : Zoes pet Dog {{champion:142}} : Zoe/Targon God As for where angels, demons and darkin appear in this tier list, has yet to be made clear by riot.

: Does anyone find it that mobile champions are naturally stronger than immobile ones?
Most of the time it's made up for the fact that most immobile champions have very powerful late games, it's always been this balancing struggle of. "How do we make early game champions not so strong to the point late game never happens, and how do we make late game not so brokenly over powered to the point playing early game is foolish, for late game is so much safer to draft for" Even casual play has these problems, for even the most basic of players can understand in metas where early game bullies like lucian or lee sin are OP you can end ridiculously early, or the oppissite, even the most casual of players can understand "hey all we need to do is farm for late game with our comp and we win" It's been a constant balancing tug of war since season 3

: The only decent thing about scuttle change is that junglers now know what it feels like
Sup, i'm Phantom and I posted about four different topics that all hit +50 on that issue you mention. That being said. While I do ask for a revert, i'm specifically and only asking for a revert on skuttle and nothing else, and believe the jungle camps should even remain the same as is, maybe just slightly boosted to make up for the loss of skuttle exp. I believe their is some interesting formulas riot can do to fix jungle exp. Example make it so no matter what, in your first clear, four camps is mandatory to hit level three. Than after that, it stabalizes with levels. This alone would make a massive difference and allow laners, actual time to lane. However I believe this meta did a lot to teach people that level two ganks are very possible and easy to pull off, and I believe even if we change things back to how they were, people are still going to do level two ganks, for they now understand the raw power they have. So we will also have to look at the current meta, and think up some ideas and ask ourselves "are level two ganks still gonna be a common trend even if we rever the skuttle?" So yeah, your argument about "How we want a full revert" is abit unfair, for I was quite literally one of the loudest people on this subject, in one of those topics I quite literally say. "was it really so hard to just nerf jungle exp? But than you had to go and over complicate it with the new skuttler" my issues are not with jungle exp, my issues are with a RNG crab and who has the better laners deciding, which jungler gets to snow ball. It makes my talent as a jungler feel meaningless.

I think it's an amazing idea, for shields were meant to be "anti burst tools" basicaly mr Ziggs loads up his bomb is about to ult you, but you cast a shield to save your life at just the right moment. But with the current state of shields, they are basically just additional health bars, and by the time one shield runs out, another shield is ready.
: Riot's design choices aid in making this game even more toxic than it already is.
I always had issue with LP gains and firmly believe riot should actually take KDAS into consideration into how much we lose and gain. For in all honesty, people say this is a "terrible" Idea, but im going to give you two scenarios. Bob is being a God, Bob goes 15/2/8 on Lissandra, Bob wins Malcom on his team is a moron and went 0/12/6 Both players are rewarded 18-21 LP WAIT A MINUTE Why is it Bob, who worked his ass off to win a game where he basically had a inter, getting the exact same LP as Malcom? Bob should be given 26 LP for his work and god level carrying while, Malcolm is punished and only given 10 LP This is equivalent to two employees being hired by a building construction company, and one guy goes sneeks off to drink beer and nap, while the other guy doesn't take a single break and works his butt off. But because they have the same contract and no one reported Malcolm, they both make 500 at the end of the project. Even though the drunk didn't lift a single finger to help. Same goes for losing Bob gets a high score, everyone on his team gets low scores. They all lose 21 LP. Why is Bob who quite literally did EVERYTHING in his power to win, but because everyone on his team decide to be trolling morons, he gets punished with the loss of 21 LP? While Bob still deserves to lose LP, for maybe he made a fatal mistake that lost the game. He in my eyes should only lose. 10 LP if even that. My biggest issue with riot, is unless someone is on a hard core losing streek, just about all of us have near the same MMR, which results in all of us having the same "Contract" for rewards and punishments. So a guy who didn't even try will get the same reward as the guy who worked his ass off to carry.

: In light of recent events I want to wish the devs at Riot Games good luck
unless they are sending death threats, no one is over reacting, riot is a company that makes far to much money to make the level of mistakes they have been making this years. We are the funding back bone of the company, no us, no riot, at this point we are sick of the incompetent coders that they are, we are sick of their balance team, and demand new staff that can treat the game we love with dignity and respect, and not some money cash cow. That being said -i'm positive people were fired over this, so that's the main reason i'm not to mad at riot, in no company can you make this level of a mistake and expect to keep your job.

: Don't Attack People Who Are Bad In Normals
My only thoughts are the following -You are right -but when someone is repetively doing the wrong thing over and over again to the point they show no forms of actual common sense, it gets really hard to hold your temper Example If it's your first game lee sin, FINE But don't go, into my laner, while you have 25 percent health while he's near full health, and expect to come out of that gank alive, Best case scenario it's going to be a one for one.
: **f u n f a c t ** The golden snitch isnt actually an immediate win. It awards 100 points and ends the game. If the enemy team has more than a 100 point lead catching the snitch makes you lose. ~~But whatever nice meme~~

: I can't tell if this is for LCS, or for casuals
To answer each question and point First: Only if Riot refuses to fix their problems, and only if a legitimately good game that is SPECIFICALLY a moba gets made. Only a shooter can kill a shooter: Halo vs Cod=Cod won Only a battle royale can kill a battle royale= Pub g vs Fortnite = Fortnite won Dota vs League = Sorta ended in a tie towards leagues favor due to them having very different mechanics and people appreciating the depth of Dota, while others prefer leagues more simplistic approach in map design. But point is, for a game to die, two factors must happen. 1-The developers of the game must be making a long list of mistakes that upset the fans. 2-A new and better game that is within the same genre, gets created so it can steal and convert fans in mass waves. If you look at the most recent example. Pub G vs Fortnite this is exactly what happened. Pub G was making a LONGGGGGGGG list of mistakes, that were never being adressed and fixed. The biggest example, being the PC to console transfer, they were introducing greedy money plans and just doing a lot of things that just generally were pissing off a large group of their fans. Fort nite than comes along, avoids the large list of mistakes Their competitor was doing, and than do a near flawless across the board versions of mobile, ps4 and so on. Everything that Pub G was getting wrong, Fortnite was getting right. While Fortnite is not without it's flaws, it was very clear they were making a concious effort to avoid the mistakes of pub G. And because of that, Pub G is a dying game that might not be able to sustain itself in the long run. Fort Nite didn't kill pub G, it fucking murdered it. Riot really needs to look at the story of pub g vs fort nite and realize, it can still very easily happen to them as for the games you mentioned HOTS: was a half assed game pumped out by blizzard in hopes of making a quick buck off MOBA lovers. No one, not even blizzard had the realistic expectations that it would hit dota or league numbers Battlerite?: Same story as HOTS, a half assed game with no future. Smite?: Very healthy community still going strong, problem it had, is it has a clear niche audience focus group and won't appeal to anyone outside of it basically the focus group is people who want a MOBA experience like league or dota but through a third person view with 3D graphics. Now that paragon is gone, they don't even have a real competitor anymore. DOTA2? Strong community, great in depth, honestly what keeps people from playing DOTA is the intense learning curve, the stubborn rivalry of people refusing to even give the oppissite game a chance and a few other factors. The real reason these games haven't killed one another is largely thanks to the fact that both games have very loyal audiences and that both games are pretty different with their own unique traits they bring to the table. League is Enjoyment in simplicity , Dota is complexity and depth. Fact is DOTA does take more skill to play, and this is coming from a avid league lover who doesn't even have DOTA downloaded anymore. That being said. What does a game have to be, to kill league? 1- Simple, not simpler but simply new player friendly, in the same way fort nite is to it's new players 2- Address the core flaws that League has with itemization and classifications 3- Learn to focus on quality not quanity with champions being released 4- a fresh coat of paint (better graphics but not over the top) 5- Focus on seperating the good players from the bad players, basically allow people who are good at the game or even above average, the ability to carry their shitter teamates. 6- A ranked mode that actually WORKS 7- Have the same view point and graphics style as league and dota (you're perspectives in how you see the screen) If a new moba was to accomplish those components, with the state league currently is, League I have without a doubt, would take a serious hit in the numbers. A very serious hit. But the moba would have to be made at a stratagic date, when the game is on a low point, just like fort nite was. And Yes Fortnite did release their game at the exact point PUB G was at a low point on purpose, this wasn't an accident, this was to hit them where it hurts while they were on their knees. This is effectively how you kill your competitors. That would be 20 bucks for the business lesson I Just gave you. Oh, and the moment you can buy them out and shut down the game. HUE HUE HUE EA
