: No, diminishing returns would be getting only .5% EHP against that damage type after a certain point. There are no diminishing returns with armor. The perceived "diminishing returns" come from how the math works. I don't know the specific numbers, so I'll make some simple ones up for the example. Lets say you want to reduce incoming damage by 50%. You'll need 100 armor to do that. Now in order for you to reduce incoming damage by another 50% (so 75% total), you'll need 100 more armor (200 total). Now if you want to reduce incoming damage by another 50% (so 87.5% total), you'll need 100 more armor (300 total). The amount of incoming damage reduction never actually changes. 100 armor will always reduce incoming damage by 50%. That's how the math works, the numbers are more complex, but in essence that's what is going on.

: That's not entirely true. Every 1 armor or magic resist increases your effective health by 1% against that type of damage. The argument to be made is that at some point it is more valuable to invest in health rather than additional armor, and that the more armor you have the more value is gained from the Last Whisper and the Black Cleaver, while more health gives BoTRK a stronger on-hit effect.

That's literally what I said. Diminishing returns exist, otherwise you would be able to reach 100% reduction. Secondly > the argument to be made is that at some point it is more valuable to invest in health rather than additional armor, and that the more armor you have the more value is gained from the Last Whisper and the Black Cleaver, while more health gives BoTRK a stronger on-hit effect. That's marginal gains vs marginal costs....and with diminishing returns from Gold spent per returns back with the additional MR/Armor at high levels comes into a factor when purchasing your 5th and 6th item.
: Why does armor feel useless
Stacking any defensive state has diminishing returns. I don't thnik the extra Gold you spent to get from 200armor to 450 was worth it. Would've been better off getting a brawler item or utility...also you're a tank. your job isn't to 1v1

The only ADC game I've won today was because we had a smurf on our team.
the only time ADC make/breaks the game is when it goes to full build on 10 players. At that point, if say your assassin pulls off a delete on the enemy ADC...Yeah it's basically over in the TF and with the level18 respawn timers, yeah it's GG. But before 30 mins, ADC doesn't "make or break" the game. Most games don't last past 30 now.

: It's because it was a skin bought with a copy of the phisic game, there was money in between. That's the big difference between Judgment and Silver, and that's why it's easier for them to release a skin that was GIFTED to all players that had 10 games on S1 with the honor system than a skin that was bought. That's my take, if anything they will release a versión of Judgment for Honor.
Ok then let them release "Kayle Silver 2019", give the original owners a Chroma and a border. Make 2019 Kayle obtainable only via honor.

: While looking at the match in your match history, did Neeko sell her stuff for Tears at the very end? Everyone on your team did poorly. The enemy team had a gold lead literally from 4 minutes until the end of the game. This one is definitely a gray area. I'd have reported her if she gave up and was a jerk, but I can't give an opinion based on score alone - you all lost together as a team. Sometimes stomps like this happen.
She tilted Trynd and then Trynd wanted to open mid/FF. So he just screwed around. The issue is that the Neeko abandoning lane/kamakaze ganks snowballed other lanes. She admitted it in chat / post game lobby too. So I know she was trolling....because she told us she enjoyed the torment.

: Because they are represented as such and that’s the excuse you are using to justify Kayle being an intolerant piece of shit. Do not derail the discussion bringing up politics and things outside league.
> Do not derail the discussion bringing up politics and things outside league. Yall are having a discussion about morality, good, bad and I bring up an example of what justice is - a perceived and subjective notion. You claim derailment? hahahahah ok. whatever dude. {{sticker:sg-miss-fortune}}
: And why should Kayle being Angel accurate while Morgan’s shouldn’t be Demon accurate then?
Do we even have confirmation that they're angels and demons? All we know is that both are born from Justice. Justice is a moral grey area. Women being stoned to death by Sharia law? That's technically justice. A Predator drone blowing up a terrorist camp and killing some civillians? That's seen as justice from others too.
: Because the lore writers went to liberal arts colleges to be taught nonsense for 4 years. Their brains are so scrambled they can't tell their ass for their elbow, much less something as clean as good and evil. When you spend years reading dawkins and darwin and you've never read anything of the bible that hasn't been cherry picked to be mocked. I went myself to a liberal arts college for comp sci and I can't believe the filthy half baked theories they passed off to the students as fact in mandatory core courses. It's pretty obvious why the writers would know nothing about spirituality and why the lore sucks so bad in general. I mean it's REALLY bad and it only gets worse with each iteration. How can you write a compelling story when you believe in moral relativism? Moral relativism means there are no stakes and nothing really matters, and that's exactly what the lore reads like. The lore feels so pointless and just rehashed drivel that super hero movies put out 10 times a year. It's so painfully generic and uninspired it reads like it was outsourced to people who don't speak English well and don't understand western culture or to spam bots. How can you expect stories to be deep and rich from people who are shallow and dead inside. That's not an insult, that's how I felt myself when I believed I existed by accident, nothing matters and I can do whatever I want. Moral relativism completely falls apart the moment you apply even the slightest scrutiny to it, but people will still accept it but it lets them make excuses for all the shitty parts about themselves. When you hold yourself to the same standard as the bible you'll realize most of us are pretty shitty people, myself included, and any employee who's read in game chat logs would agree. The bible is also pretty aware of this. Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat. - Matthew 7:13 KJV I know most people don't come to the League of Legends boards to talk about morals and spirituality but this is a thread about good and evil in a game that's about to make an insulting mockery in their depiction of a holy angel. I suggest the writers consult actually consult holy scriptures as their source material for writing angels so they don't embarrass themselves and their company with their work once again.
I have a minor in philosophy but I'll be honest with you. I didn't come onto the summoners rift to discuss meta ethics. I just want to destroy the enemy nexus and get LP. I really don't give a fuck if Garen has closeted sexual feelings for his sister Lux and is actually gay, yet executes gay demacians. I really don't. I also don't care if Riven employs Kantian ethics/views of the world everytime she activates her Rune blade. "If I willed R2 wind slash upon everyone, and if everyone did this in the world, would it be okay?". It's a fucking MOBA and every character is a TROPE. Literally everyone is borrowed from high fantasy or existing materials. Demacia scared of magic users? Wow how many fucking times has that been done. Noxus is a meritocracy built on strength? WOW SO ORIGINAl. Jesus, Vayne's parents got murdered by demons and now she's an edgy Demon Hunter? The list goes on. It's best to not think about it or take the lore seriously. Who knows, maybe Sylas's ult is powered by a manifestation of Descartes, "I steal ults, therefore I am"
: Riot writers, what do you have against the "usual" good guys?
> I'm seriously asking why you are so keen in turning the tables with the stereotipes of the good and the bad guys and make any angelic figure as much as unhuman and distant from any kind of common moral while making darkness related characters not only more in tune with the human behaviors but also more likeable and closer to ethics and morals that make them the good guys. And I'm seriously asking you, what makes you think Angels are human like? They're not humans. Compassion is a mortal feature. Ethics and Choice are a mortal choice as well. It is known that humans are born violent. We learn choice. Two year olds are vicious. I remember when I was a kid, I was violent. If Kayle is derived from Justice, then pure justice is obviously blind, authoritative, and "inhuman". I don't think you've thought this out completely.....

When did Vayne Mains ever say that? I knew it would go up 1. Storm razor rushers have a delayed power spike, Vayne isn't a SR Rusher, hence less advantage 2. Crit actually isn't that good on Vayne. LArgest crits you'll get are 600~. Cait and Draven easily push past 1K for Crits (Before 9.3, I've tried 100% Crit builds on Vayne, they're terrible. You were always better off with a utility item like Maw/Merc Scim/Etc than a second Zeal item) 3. That being said, the IE damage modification is nicer for Vayne because we already have true damage and a Guinsoo+BOTRK, no need for the crappy IE 10% True Damage 4. The PD shield is nice, its an item we already make 5. The Tumble Final Hour Buff is nice.... 6. Most vayne players are one tricks or heavily specialized into the champ, any minor buff and obviously our WR% will go up! {{sticker:vayne-pose}}

Tbh...another thing people don’t want to admit: Activision blizzard has approx 7000 employees. Not all of them are good. It’s easier to lay off the 8% slackers/non performers/toxic idiots than to fire them. It’s harsh. It’s mean. It doesn’t sound good, but from a CEO/Corporate perspective, it’s a rational thing to do. I guarantee you those 700 people were either not providing value to the company or “slated to be fired”
: What part of 3-7-2 did you miss? Quin was fed, vayne was far behind. Even if quin was playing g with the intelligence of a monkey, she should have won a 1v1. Stop trying to defend broke bs like this current iteration of vayne. We all know she's busted

We all know she's busted My highest mastery is riven. Quinn does win 1v1 if she’s fed, I can’t survive Quinn combos as riven. I’ve fucked up games. As a vayne main, there’s not much you can do if you get jumped. You take the initial hit and R+Q to wait out the blind, but you’re already at half HP. One crit and you’re dead. Stop spouting irrational non sense over things you have no clue about. Don’t even make be bring rank into this. {{champion:92}}

: When are Vayne nerfs coming? It's actually insane how broken she is
Then you’re bad rofl. I play top a lot, I know Quinn’s damage. You should be able to ambush vayne and burst her. Also, vayne is a hyper scaling late game duelist. What did you expect?
: Activision Blizzard let go ~800 employees despite having higher profits than ever
Don't quote Bobby Kotick, he's already trying to spin it to appease shareholders. This is what happened. > The news comes after Activision-Blizzard reported mixed results for its holiday quarter, and gave guidance that fell short of Wall Street expectations. While earnings were ahead of expectations, revenue fell short. Shares of Activision-Blizzard have just about halved since October 2018. > The firm reported earnings per share of $1.29 on revenue of $2.84B. Analysts polled by Investing.com forecast EPS of $1.29 on revenue of $3.04B. That compared to EPS of $0.93 on revenue of $2.64B in the same period a year earlier. The company had reported EPS of $0.53 on revenue of $1.66B in the previous quarter. This means they sold less than expected. 2.84B vs 2.64B last year. They're barely growing revenue despite selling more products. That's not an immediate failure but it is a red flag for looming issues. Corrective measures have to be taken now. i.e. an organizational shakedown. Cull the weak. This shit happens all in the time video game companies, just not at Blizzard. People need to rear in actual financial facts and consider market trends and other things as a whole too. No one expected Fortnite to take off so well. Blizzard took a gamble on the "Team shooter" with Overwatch, but guess where the Industry is now? Apex and Fortnite. No one cares about OW.

Incomprehensible wall of garbage text.

: How many Cammile and Kaisa mains are there in Riot balance team?
Kai sa got nerfed and she’s not even in the top win rates for adc last time I checked. Calm your uneducated ass down.

With her ult buff, tumble basically is ready to go with one auto and a bit of kiting. Shojin would be a shit item in any build. Would be better off getting a draktharr to cap off a for fun/troll DH IE one shot build than fucking shojin. The attack speed doesn’t matter too much when most builds involve a guinsoo and a PD.
: > Unless you are stunlocked for a literal 6 seconds, you will spike your power immensely with this item. You'll spike after you find 3400 gold to build it. That's an expensive rush. It gives mediocre health with no resistances, so users can be bursted down if they don't build any bulk first. They can be CCd or kited, and the value of the active is ruined if they're not constantly auto-attacking in those first 6 seconds. They also need their ult to get any value at all, which gives them windows of vulnerability. Let's see how it settles.

I bet more than half the people in this thread are in no position to be making comments on game balance. Spear sucks on riven. It’s a shitty item to rush. Unlike black cleaver, BFSword doesn’t give you a needed movement boost or HP. Versus tanks and juggs like Darius, this is kinda an ehhh. Essence reaver was a doable rush because it used caufields hammer. CDR and damage. Great. The original post in this thread makes no mention of build pathing. It’s a dumb criticism.

: DK harvest triggers when they are low on hp; the only way to get many dark harvest stacks/do much damage with it, is when you stomp heavy, but not finish the game on time for some reason. You will do more damage with electrocute, if your champ has a consistent combo that can apply it.
> [{quoted}](name=MLDzXnRRR,realm=EUNE,application-id=3ErqAdtq,discussion-id=Iu0dEYoR,comment-id=0001,timestamp=2019-02-05T10:15:54.055+0000) > > DK harvest triggers when they are low on hp; the only way to get many dark harvest stacks/do much damage with it, is when you stomp heavy, but not finish the game on time for some reason. > You will do more damage with electrocute, if your champ has a consistent combo that can apply it. Yeah, Jhin won't be able to trigger electrocute. DH the only viable Domination rune on him IMO, maybe HOB but I would rather just get Fleetfootwork honestly over HoB. HoB sucks cause it won't do anything in a long team fight for you. Im trying to think what's better for Jhin. Dark harvest (his ult will trigger it, and a lot of 4th shot hits), or Fleetfootwork. For Jhin, the biggest issue really is peel. Maybe I'll go back to fleet footwork.
: is this urf or normals? I assume normals since almost 40 min if so that is really low. It starts to do more near the end of the game so idk
