That feeling when Nidalee is so inconsequential she doesn't even get mentioned in an assassin thread.
: Vote for a Champion VGU for 2020!
I went with Fiddlesticks because he needs everything: new Lore, new model and I guess they have something in mind for his kit (I don't play him so I don't have a strong opinion on his kit). For that matter, the only one on the list that I play on occasion is Shyvana, and I've never thought she was in need of large scale VGU. Her lore is okay, her visuals aren't horrible and her kit is... well it's simplistic, which is not necessarily a bad thing. Maybe give her a passive that isn't tied to murdering dragons so she can actually have one outside of summoner's rift? But if the argument is that she's not delivering the fantasy she was meant to fulfill (the reasons Evelynn and Irelia were reworked), then I guess I'm just one of those old timers that has grown attached to her boring, non-thematic kit. I'm sure the few Volibear mains out there know what I mean.
: She has a lot of bad match ups mid, but it depends on the elo you're playing at. I would say she's highly competitive as a mid laner in low Elo because your opponents are going to be mechanically terrible. The problem isn't her laning phase. She lanes very well. The problem is that her late game doesn't exist. The longer the game goes the more it comes down to a coinflip decided by bot lane difference.
Morg has a late game if she's in a team that has a champ that has the "Just CC them" clause. ^_^
: I am aware, hence why it's in the paragraph talking about the recalls, and not in the meat of the paragraph talking about the VFX.
For some reason I thought you said Exiled and Sinful Succulence. Oi...
: So the 975 RP skins Sinful Succulence Morgana and Transcended Kayle still lack VFX.
Exiled has different color effects. It's not the standard purple. Edit: Oh, lord my reading comprehension really was lacking here.

Mid/late, Leona is not diving the back line to let her ADC die to the enemy front line, mate.

I'm guessing you're an Eve or Ahri player? Everything you just listed Ether has A. High cooldown once used (High being near 1 minute long at the very least) Or B. Only blocks 1 spell which can be played around by throwing your most useless spell first. Does morg shield fits one of these? No. It also doesn't matter if I play those two champs you listed, people will still ban her because her shield makes it hard to get a pick off of someone or shut someone down in teamfights. Heck, if you play these champions {{champion:53}} {{champion:555}} {{champion:412}}{{champion:89}} and don't ban morg you're trolling.
I play Leona and never ban Morgana. She has too much CC in her kit to worry about a single target spell shield. Like seriously, just attack Morg if she shielded the ADC. She's not tanky. She'll die. Leona's R is also AoE, so it's not impossible to get both of them. Morgana is not a Leona counter. A nuisance, but not a counter. Worst case scenario is the lane ends up a farm lane because Morgana decides to sit back, hold her Q and basically wait for you to make a bad engage. So... you don't. And then you end up more useful later in the game regardless. And I'm pretty sure this is also true for Blitz and Thresh. Being semi-tanky front liners, they will be useful if they allow the lane to become passive. Pyke is the only one in that list that might need something to happen in the laning phase. And even then, I'm not sure Pyke would prefer to face a Leona/Blitz/Thresh over Morgana.
: I have a similar experience. Generally when somebody pulls the rug out from under my feet and picks my Morgana I go something like Janna and just completely roll the lane. Morgana is not that strong in the hands of an inexperienced player and a lot of people who pick her only do so because of bandwagon.
Even being my second highest played champion, I'm not very confident with my Morgana. We could be winning bot lane and I still don't feel like a pair of squishes stand a chance if the enemy has any winning lanes/jungle. I mean... if the team needs the support Morgana to ult-engage fights... I think we've lost. I'd rather have my 0/8 Leona with that job over my 4/1 Morgana any day.
: Why do you ban Morgana?
I don't think she's ban worthy in my low elo games. Half of the Morganas I play against don't know how to hold Q and she can only CC immune one person. As her root does not prevent an ADC from auto attacking, being hit by Q does not suddenly mean the ADC can't fight off the other ADC. She can be good to lock someone down during a gank, but ganks are so poorly coordinated that her potential is often wasted. I'm always surprised to see her banned, because she needs so much more help to be effective than other ban options. Then again, I play Leona and Morgana more frequently than any other champs. Being so familiar with their weaknesses makes it difficult for me to understand why they would ever be banned.
: Is this new champ abathur from HoTs but as a cute kitty?
I would chuckle if her "attach" skill causes every champion to suddenly sport nekomimi.

: I hope to god that they change Pantheon's shield in his VGU.
They might give him the Jhin/Annie mechanic so you can see when he will be blocking a skill/turret shot/etc.
: I actually went to practice mode to see what her damage was looking like with the items that she had, and yea it was 600 from ult, 200 from passive, 410 from e, and 450-470 from Q. This totaled up to 1660-ish PLUS her ult refreshing her passive to total up to another 200 damage making it 1860 while only having 221 AP, not including the magic pen she had from sorcery shoes and oblivion orb/Morello. So I decided to look at the replay. Right before I got legit blown up, I had 1,510 HP and 37 MR. So I'm looking back at the replay once again and this is her damage. Passive: 204 Magic damage Q: 405 W: 124 base shield and when it returns it totals up to 248 + the original 124 equaling out to 372 shields. E: 377 R: 566 + Refresh passive = 770 Aery: 34.71 + 22 = 56.71 Scorch: 15 So adding up all these numbers equal out to 1,623 damage. WITH THOSE ITEMS THAT "can't one-shot you with those items" The best part it. I didn't even calculate the Magic pen AT ALL. So with 221 AP, she can do 1,623 damage + Magic pen.
Well, those numbers assume 0 MR so it kind of already assumes the MPen is enough to make the damage into true damage. Without her 33 MPen, she loses a lot of that in any champions natural MR. Like, legit, you could have built Merc Treads (25 MR) and she would have lost a lot of damage output. And yea, I do play a bit of Lux Support so I know there are several marksmen I can full rotation when I'm lvl 16 (maybe earlier if I get two MPen items before that). I'm thinking she could have also done full rotation on your Zoe (no MR items on Zoe either).
Critty92 (EUNE)
: Which supports counter Blitzcrank the most
Nobody really counters him. You can minimize the damage with Morgana's black shield, or take someone tanky that doesn't care too much about getting hooked. But that's only stalling the inevitable late game blind hook that results in a 4 v 5. Like he can even hook a tank late game and they will die so fast that it doesn't even matter that he did not get a carry. He will always be useful, no matter whom you pick. You kind of just have to rely on your teammates actually acknowledging him as a threat at all stages of the game. Or ban him.
: I don't get lux
Super Little? She does have 33 MPen from morello and sorc shoes. And I'm guessing that blasting wand was going to built into the Void Staff. Hmm... Frost Fang (20AP), Morello (70AP), Blasting (40AP), Athene (30AP) and Dark Seal (10-40AP). So 170-200AP without runes with likely her Q+E maxed out. That should be 360 max dmg on E, 390 max dmg on Q and 550 max dmg on a skill lvl 2 R. That's max dmg values if her MPen completely negates your natural MR. Level 17 Varus has 38 MR naturally, and she has 33 MPen. Ignoring runes that might boost MR or MPen. Level 17 Varus should have 1800 health though. Max values on Lux damage without weaving some empowered Auto Attacks in her combo should top out at 1300. Her passive bonus damage on autos is 200 max dmg which doesn't include the actual auto damage. So theoretically she might be able to full rotation Varus with two auto attacks weaved into her combo. Possibly. I doubt I could do it but I have often missed skill shots on stationary targets. I'm wondering how much AP she might have in her runes. I'm not sure how it will boost her initial 1300 up too much higher, but it might be enough to get it that she only needs one empowered Auto Attack instead of two.
: I can't really agree with these soraka changes on PBE
Depends on how you were playing Soraka. A Q maxer will probably not mind the changes, as the heal is stronger with a minor trade on damage. An E maxer will probably no longer want to max E, since the cooldown doesn't drop much, the damage is less and the mana costs go up. And for anyone that was silly enough to max W... well this doesn't change anything. In my opinion, her Q is more interactive and satisfying to play with and against than the safe and instant damage E provided.
Starcall (NA)
: Sona disruptively over powered
I win quite a bit with Sona because people don't know how to close out games. It's nerve wracking to play her though. Practically CC less pre 6. Close range ult when you die to a sneeze. The gimmick of Sheen into lich bane is only worth it if you confirm they have no idea how to punish you. I have opted to simply stacking tear instead. With tear I can somewhat spam the W for my ADC. Otherwise... if they know how to punish you, you can't reasonably poke and are pretty useless to your ADC until like level 11. I could argue Lux is even a better support pre 11. But Sona scales. Like harder than any other support. Like I often wish Soraka scaled this well (though I doubt anybody else actually wants Soraka to be that strong).

So, I guess the idea would be to change those items in a way that would steer your build Juggernaut or Skirmisher. Kind of feels like something is fundamentally wrong if just about every damage based melee character has to build Trinity Force to be relevant. If there is to be changes between Divers, Skirmishers and Juggernauts, I would think it would have to start at the first core item.

A) rework {{item:3057}} and detach it from base ad scaling. the simplest way to deal with this item might even just be to calculate the proc before any base ad increases from items. B) rework scalings of fighter kits - juggernauts: kits scale entirely with **total ad** - divers: kits scale with a mix of **total ad** and **bonus ad** - skirmishers: kits scale entirely with **bonus ad** C) create targeted fighter itemization - general fighter items: {{item:3071}} {{item:3078}} remain unchanged except for the sheen proc changes - juggernaut items: {{item:3748}} {{item:3053}} {{item:3022}} {{item:3005}} all increase **base ad** by flat values or % (the % increase calculated before the flat increases) - skirmisher items: {{item:3074}} {{item:3812}} {{item:3161}} could maybe be reworked to synergize better with skirmisher kits. maybe riot needs to create 1 or 2 more dedicated items for them. the whole point of this would be to make these items more or less effective on different fighter types and steer them towards either squishier or beefier builds respectively. for example divers wouldnt get as much out of stacking juggernaut items as actual juggers, because half their kits scale with bonus ad and dont benefit from the base ad increases. which means they are incentivised to maybe build one of them as a defensive item, but otherwise pick skirmisher items. jugger items would do very little on skirmishers, since they dont feed into their bonus ad scaling kits.
Well, it was my impression that the biggest difference between Juggernauts and the Divers is whether they take Trinity Force or Black Cleaver. : I have one qualm here, and it's that in the clip shown, your entire team got CC'd by a Sona ultimate, making Shyvana's job super easy. Compare, in the same situation, where a fed mage uses their ult and a nuke on a team grouped up together. Neeko, Brand, Lux, Leblanc, maybe even Orianna, etc. The insta triple kill is not surprising here
Hecarim is on the blue team. Sona is on the red team. But yea, there are a lot of late game ults that can wipe a team out that's been CCed by Sona Ult.

Perhaps build a unique passive on Titanic and/or Steraks that doesn't kick in unless you have X amount of health like Warmogs???
: Mid-silver matchmaking
Hmm... I kind of like the your.gg site linked in these comments. Makes me want to stretch my graph to S in all five categories ... well some champs I probably won't ever have S damage on, but there's like not much reason to not have an A or higher on things like Sight and Object. Certainly makes me think I might want to consider turning my brain on when I'm playing Leona, (clearly playing too confident without thinking about other important things).
: Arguably anything can "support" but most of the time, other champs are definitely better at being supports. I bet trying to Orianna support was kind of torturous though.
I was bored with Janna and Lulu and thought it would be a challenge. And it is... but so not worth it.
: Pretty much. There are far more superior options. She is not really a "good" support.
I got level 5 with Orianna support. It can be done, but not something I would ever recommend (seriously just run Janna, Lulu or Karma).
: Even then, there are ADCs who can make up more affectively for the lack of AP than picking a gold hungry midlane mage. Kog'maw, Kai'sa, Varus all do an astounding amount of mage damage. Corki could even work if you wanted to troll. There's no good reason in my mind to pick someone like Lux as a support. I wish Riot would grossly gut mage base damages and up their ratios so that we can finally be done with midlane mage "supports."
Well, we are going with the whole lack of AP in team comp, so that would include a lack of Kai'sa, etc. And I agree, there isn't. There are reasons, but not very good ones. Like... my team needs AP damage ... and then I end up playing her as a mediocre utility mage anyways which meant I should have just ran Karma. Or Morgana is banned and I don't want to be reported for feeding with Zyra. The fact is that Lux is not the best option for any of the reasons you might pick her to support and there are even enchanters that can "jack of all trades" better than her. The only reason to pick her is not owning the better options, or lacking experience with those options.
JuiceBoxP (EUNE)
: To anyone that says lux is not a good support
I haven't tried Athene's on her. It would probably be good if people weren't actively dodging the baton. Normally I run Twin Shadows and Shurelya's. It's nice to have a guaranteed slow from Shadows and Shurelya's is just a fun ms item in general. I find both useful to have when it comes to warding.
: I still dont want a lux. Lux is just the support that people pick when they're autofilled and they arent actually interested in being a support.
Eh, Lux is more of my pick when I see an all AD comp and we might need the option of an AP nuke. But yea, if there is an AP mid or AP jungle, I usually can't justify a Lux pick over Morgana or Sona/Nami. To be honest, most of the time I just run Leona because nobody on my team hovered or picked a tank.

: [Discussion]: Morgana Nerfs
Impact highly depends on how much AP is being built. A support Morg doesn't always run a whole lot of AP, so the impact won't be as notable. A mid Morg loses some upfront burst as well as counter-burst when running against an AP opponent.

Ok, but that buff was something different. It says the bonus damage will crit. It doesn't mean the rockets itself will not crit.
Yea, I was thinking about that, though that buff came back when people were calling Jinx "Junks" because she was not the best ADC. That was also around the time that they bug fixed her rockets as they weren't properly working with Hurricane (something about not doing the proper damage). [Oof, that was 7.15, a whole year before, so I guess not the same time at all.] If we are talking about simply tuning down a few numbers, this would be a worthy start before doing anything drastic like hitting her base AD.

: Hecarim is the strongest top lane in the game
Remember when Hecarim used to be one of the only top laners unaffected by minion block. V5.24 Stats Base health reduced to 580 from 599. Health growth reduced to 90 from 95. Warpath REMOVED PASSIVE: Ghost ghosting. Devastating Charge NEW EFFECT: Hecarim is Ghost ghosted while active. That was also around the time V5.22 when Sheen and Tri-Force stopped giving AP. I recall lengthy discussions how that dumpstered Hecarim. If top lane is the issue, they should reconsider the 9.4 CDR/mana buffs they gave him. Doesn't really impact jungle.
: Those are not number nerfs, the ones you are suggesting are design changes that are not needed to Jinx. Thanks godness the Gameplay Boards doesn't balance the game or all champs would be gutted
You don't know buff history. It was something that was added, that did not need to be added. V8.13 Switcheroo! Switcheroo! NEW EFFECT: The 10% AD bonus damage from Fishbones can now critically strike. Though I should correct my statement in that this buff was not needed.
: Actually Jinx by design does have counters, but all counters go away as real counters when a champ acumulates as many buffs as Jinx has. So yes, she should be tunned down too, and Jinx it's a simple champ that's strong for number issues, she's not Azir Ayaytrox, Riot can number nerf her and she is balanced again easily.
Take away the crit on rockets. Cuts her safety range a bit and her damage.
: Party Ready up Feature
Technically every party member chooses their preferred position to "ready up". You can't Find Match until everyone has a preferred position selected.
: While there are not excessive options available, supports do have enough access to cheap, powerful items in every game. You always want boots and your GP5 item, so compared to other champions you actually have 1 less item slot. {{item:3117}} {{item:3158}} {{item:3069}} {{item:3401}} {{item:3092}} Redemption and Mikaels are items that can be picked up on nearly every support, {{item:3107}} {{item:3222}} While enchanters have access to {{item:3504}} {{item:3174}} {{item:3905}} {{item:2065}} And wardens have access to {{item:3109}} {{item:3190}} {{item:3110}} {{item:3050}} Thus giving both enchanters and wardens access to 6 different items to fill 4 slots. Even though you don't have a ton of options, most of these items are very good and are going to be desired as you progress through each match, just in different orders. Aside from those options, it isn't really a bad thing for supports to claim one or two items from the rest available as their final items. Support items are terrible slot inefficient and if you ever actually find yourself late game with extra gold, buying more efficient items is probably a good way to go. Those games are pretty rare though. {{item:3001}} {{item:3143}} {{item:3022}} {{item:3089}} {{item:3102}} {{item:3030}}
Locket is so... meh. It's shield is based off levels and bonus HP, which you won't have much of when running as a support tank. Even having it as the 4th item after Vow, it still feels pretty weak. That said, pairing it with Warmog's, Randuin's or Visage might make it a worthy 5th item. Haven't had too many games get to 5th item point, but it's certainly a thought.

Even less reason to complain. Lux takes {{item:3117}} if she's going utility over AP. AKA bindbot Lux.
Honestly golden boots are good for champions that don't mind getting hit when they get to their destination (since the passive is lost upon taking damage). I don't really see the value of Lux taking it. If she really wants to roam faster, swifties would be better (naturally pairing this with other MS items like Twin Shadows and Ardent Censor).
: And that BS of a game supposed to be game into high gold
Have to appreciate the golden sneakers strategy on Lux. Never would have crossed my mind.

To be honest, you only get to build like two items other than your boots and gold item. I religiously build Knight's Vow out of habit. It might not even be the best thing to do. The other item depends on what seems to be killing me so fast that I can't peel/tank.
: After opening an account on "low elo" I can't help but notice hilarious stuff.
Fights randomly happen. All the time. Like there could be a 4 v 4 fight at Dragon and the team that wins oddly don't take dragon. And then they all go back to their lanes as if nothing happened. The same dragon is there five minutes later.

: (Poll) Old or New visual of Morgana
Old Morgana was simple and effective. New Morgana is ... well ... kind of a chaotic mess. I love her spin animations for her Q and autos. It feels graceful and since I'm usually moving as I'm doing these things... well it's almost like dancing. I love that. Her W animation is great. And I love when she ults as it picks up those tail wings for a short moment. Seriously, her animations are just the best part of this VU. I've played two games so far with her last night. Blade Mistress was excellent. Blackthorn was... well deleted. Let's just be honest. It's gone. I feel like it has been downgraded to a recolor. Like it barely holds on to the 1350 status because it does have different colored effects. Not saying that the old Blackthorn was much better. It's just this Blackthorn is a very different skin. I am eyeing the chromas for Blackthorn. Really looking forward to that. I don't care for her Icon/Portrait in champion select/mini-map. Doesn't even feel like it fits the new Morgana. I'm kind of meh about the tail wings. I understand thematically this is her choice. If she could have all her wings down/removed, she would. Part of why I enjoy the ult so much as it picks them off the ground. I would have preferred having the two wings parted more, though I suppose that might have made her look twin tailed. Also don't particularly enjoy the over exaggerated facial expressions (though in game I'm usually too focused to care or notice her triple sized scowl/grimace). On a whole, I do prefer new over old. Could it have been more to my liking? Certainly.

So has the Lulu+Kayle funnel been tried yet?
: So Riot has had their worst year in a long time...
Well... this shows League is still the top MOBA. It could be a simple disinterest in MOBA games. It's not like anyone could actually convince me Fortnite is a better game and I have honestly never heard of DFO (slightly intrigued now).
: She will begin going {{item:1412}} > {{item:3508}} or {{item:1412}} {{item:3078}} , depending on the team she's vs. Part of her whole scalability is getting her CDR to take off. And if you're a good jungle farmer, you can buy on her about the same rate you buy on Udyr. If playing well you can 14-15 minute your second item.
Possibly... but ER doesn't have a better build order than Tri Force. Like I could see doing ER if you have a really good back and can buy the thing outright... or upgrade to ER instead of Warrior since you might already have the Warhammer. But if you already picked up Warrior... I think the decision for ER would be made before Warrior. Like, hey, I'm doing well, the enemy comp is mostly champs I can take out with full rotation, so why not. Kind of like when Lethality was stronger, you'd just turn your Warhammer into a lethality item before finishing warrior. Still don't know if you'd follow that up with IE though. Generally the champs you can one shot are the ones that can one shot you back if you haven't built any sort of defense. Not that Tri Force was heavy on defense either, but it is a little more health. And I'm pretty sure you usually follow Tri Force with some defense, be it Steraks, Deadmans or maybe even GA. Definitely something to check out in a play tester. Compare ER+Warrior dmg vs Tri Force+Warrior dmg and maybe a few iterations of the build paths leading up to that.
: Why the F is Riot giving Vi aoe Crit.....
Why is it always six item builds being discussed when it's normally only 3 plus boots? Like is Vi seriously going to build ER/IE as 2nd and 3rd items? Feels like forever to just get Warrior/Trinity Force.
