Aatrox is the kind of champion that never should've had a revive to begin with, even pre-rework. There's a reason revival effects are almost entirely on champions that rely on their allies to make plays, or on massive cooldowns like GA. Being a self-sufficient champion that has a readily-accessible second life, especially when your champion is strong at 1v1ing by design _(as Aatrox is and always has been thanks to his combat healing)_ just makes the revive a win-more mechanic. If you're not strong enough, you'll just die again when you revive _(this is what happened with release Aatrox, when his revive also made him lose all his Blood Well and by extension his attack speed)_. If you ARE strong enough, though, your snowball continues _(and this is what happened with post-rework Aatrox, where if he has a lead he'll just come back and continue cutting down your team with relative impunity)_.

Give it some time. Then what happens when you don't roll any gloves or can't get any on the carousel? Like when I want to counter big healing comps but I don't get any Giant's Belts _(since both grievous wounds items require a Giant's Belt)_.

Where else are you supposed to position Shyvana, exactly? She's melee until she transforms, so she has to be out front to actually deal/take damage.
: The new "Collection" tab is just annoying
Considering they never removed the Trophy/Banner spots for Clash on the main profile page despite the myriad problems Clash has had, I doubt they'll revert this. I'm pretty sure at least 90% of players will NEVER have a trophy or banner from Clash.
: 3 skin suggestions for the clockwork maiden
Why did you put Gnar and not Rumble? How does Gnar + Kamina = a Rumble skin? Especially since Super Galaxy Rumble came out before Gnar did.

I've only gotten to level 8 a handful of times, I can't fathom actually having enough gold to hit level 9 without getting completely destroyed in the meantime. I always end up having to reroll a bunch to fix holes in my team or try to actually get some 2* units in midgame, or I just end up on a massive loss streak due to my underpowered units getting stomped out. I swear if you don't get good initial rolls in the shop, you basically aren't able to econ and expect to actually do well since your mismatched and/or under-starred team will get annihilated constantly.

Swain and Kennen have two origins (Imperial/Demon and Ninja/Yordle respectively). Gangplank has two classes (Blademaster and Gunslinger).
9NexterCz9 (EUNE)
: Which story would you like to move forward after demacia ?
Forget moving their stories forward, Sona and Shaco don't even HAVE stories currently. In fact, I think they're currently the only two champions who have no stories of any kind _(canon ones anyway, Sona has several skins that have lore behind them ironically)_ and no actual lore connections to anybody. How we've gone several big Demacia updates without giving Sona ANYTHING resembling lore is beyond me. It's not like she's an unknown or unpopular champion.

: Noble is ruining this game
It's probably a minor thing, but the fact that completing Noble also gives you a tier 1 Knight bonus on top of that seems a bit excessive. Only 15 flat damage mitigation that late in the game doesn't sound like much, but that's on top of the big resistances from the Noble buff.

I know it can be aimed, but what use is that when you don't know who your next opponent is going to be, and thus where their key units are going to be? Even if it's down to just you and another player, they can shuffle their units around to screw with your Zephyr placement, since you can't watch their screen AND re-position your Zephyr user at the same time. It's also a tank item, so you normally want it on a front-liner, but the whirlwind's ideal use would be disabling the enemy's DPS for a few seconds to give you time to chew through their defenses. Which would require Zephyr to be on one of your own back-rows, which generally isn't where you put the tank. The only real back-row tank is Blitzcrank, and he doesn't want Zephyr anyway.

: Not listening and not doing exactly what you want them to are two very different things. As much as I like to bash Riot for all their huge screw ups with decision making in the last few years, I'll be the first to admit that when you're trying to listen to everybody, you very often end up being pulled in too many directions to make good choices for anybody (or so busy trying to decide that you accomplish anything).

: Quinn love daily reminder
Quinn does need some tuning, though I'm not sure how offhand. She DOES have a critical strike scaling in Harrier's cooldown, so that's a start. For what it's worth, I never got the point of her old ultimate from a game standpoint. I mean, Quinn's a marksman. She builds pretty squishy. Then her ultimate turned her into Master Yi, except without any of Master Yi's defensive capabilities that let him work as a melee carry _(Slow immunity, Q dodge, W damage reduction, etc...)_.
: @RIOT please fix TT, don't end it!
Oh FUCK YOU RIOT. I AM GETTING REALLY FUCKING SICK OF SEEING THREADS LIKE THIS. REALLY FUCKING SICK OF IT. YOU FUCKING INEPT PIECES OF SHIT NEED TO DO SOMETHING RIGHT OR JUST SELL YOUR FUCKING GAME TO SOMEONE WHO GIVES A DAMN. SO DO YOUR FUCKING JOBS RIGHT, ACTUALLY LISTEN TO YOUR FUCKING PLAYERS, AND GIVE ME SOME ACTUAL FUCKING HAPPY THREADS TO READ FOR ONCE IN YOUR WORTHLESS FUCKING LIVES.
: What are the worst full items in the game?
Sword of the Divine's probably the worst completed item solely for the fact that you're throwing away two really good carry item components for an item that might not even do anything. Maybe it's good on, like, Rengar or something.

Much less moving parts, much less things to keep track of and overall a much easier game. There will be detractors but I stand by this point. As the game goes on however, there is less and less room for simplistic, basic designs. League is not the only one doing this mind you: Compare DOTA heroes like Monkey King, Arc Warden and Grimstroke to earlier heroes like Sven, Anti-mage and others. > > If Riot had stopped making ANYTHING at the end of 2012 or around 2013 sure, you could do this. But Riot didn't and with good reason. Which means there will be champs who cannot be viable in PUG without being utterly broken in pro or champions who will be pickable at best in PUG but dogshit in Pro. So now we've come to the crossroads we're at now, which means we need to pick a side and stick with it. Either than or make every champion garen level. {{champion:42}} {{champion:82}} {{champion:25}} {{champion:53}} {{champion:20}} {{champion:24}} {{champion:236}} {{champion:555}} {{champion:246}} {{champion:26}} {{champion:350}} Honestly there's a lot of champs that could be picked in competitive (or just need simple buffs to be more desirable) and are perfectly fine in pro play. These are just the most notable examples. Galio and Ryze are too specifically designed around pro and will never be viable outside of pro unless they just dont have Ultimates because of how strong the ability to reposition to your teammate or to cast a team (and minion) wide Teleport (that doesnt even stop you from moving or casting, mind you) is. I will say this time and time again whenever Ryze comes up - His Ultimate should be a giant meteor that does 150 / 225 / 300 (+9/17/25% Maximum mana) that drops after 2 seconds, and the size scales with current mana or AP.

That's literally Veigar's W but bigger and with mana scaling.
: Aatrox is hated by Rito
In terms of lore, Aatrox himself can't die, but his vessel can. Which leaves the sword that is Aatrox sitting there until someone else grabs it and gets turned into the next vessel. Hell, Atreus 'killed' Aatrox in the new Pantheon lore. The only way a revive would make sense in lore is if, when Aatrox dies, one of his allies can give up their life to revive him. Good luck ever making that useful or balanced though.

People will pick a champion a lot if they're strong, which Aatrox is. That's only true to a certain extent. Unpopular champions still won't have a high pickrate unless egregiously strong because people simply don't want to play as a ugly green blob or gravedigger. Aatrox likewise has been middle of the pack for most of his rework, and yet still maintained a ~8%-12% average pickrate overall. > > How many people actually genuinely like his kit, though? In all the threads I've seen about Aatrox, it's mostly people reminiscing on the unique points of his old design and hating the new one for just being Riven 2.0. People who think Aatrox is Riven 2.0 have literally never played Riven or new Aatrox. Likewise, people reminiscing on the 'unique points of his old design' are frankly delusional because his old design didn't HAVE unique points in practice. He left his W on heal if he wasn't fighting, left it on damage if fighting, and only swapped if he was extremely low health and W damage proc wouldn't kill. Everything else he had was a generic ability. > > I just see these people who want the old one back and can express how much they enjoyed him, and I feel like I can't just rebuke them. It just frustrates me, I don't know how to react to it. There are tens or hundreds of millions of people who play League. There will be people clamoring for a revert of something regardless of how good or necessary a rework was. > > Are they in the right for wanting back a champion they enjoyed? Is it better overall that he got reworked? Who should I agree with? From a game health stand point he needed a rework. He was kept purposefully weak for his entire existence because of how badly designed and volatile he was, and before his rework Conquerer was added + Guinsoo's changed and he jumped to the literal best toplaner/jungler bar none. This wasn't because he was remotely well designed or 'people learned how to play him'; this was Aatrox at 2 items could not be fought. Period. His 2 item powerspike was enough to make him a Burst DPS Tank Bruiser who drained hundreds or thousands of health per second for right clicking. For any faults people find with new Aatrox, he can at least be outplayed (and in return can actually outplay people). Old Aatrox's "outplay" was pressing QER to jump into somebodies face, then right clicking them and leaving to make a sandwich.

If you know/remember patch 4.20 Warwick, that's exactly why Aatrox had to be reworked. Old Aatrox had 2 interesting aspects going for him. His W was a toggle between DPS and sustain on-hit. And his old Q was probably the first champion to introduce the idea of "sweet spot" in an AoE. Riot should've centered their rework around those as his major identity, unlike how they almost remade everything and didn't even get rid of the revive that while technically is one of his signature but is only that because it's exactly what made the old Aatrox broken and impossible to balance. Centering Aatrox's identity on his old W with a dashing use of his old Q in some way, would've made everyone happy. But instead we got Riven v2.

His Q DID keep the "sweet spot in an AoE" deal, though. Like, that's literally the entire point of his new Q. They kept and expanded on this idea because it's infinitely more interesting than a toggled third-hit passive. Hell, his Q3 is literally his old Q but without the dash, and his E lets him add a dash to it anyway. Sure, he doesn't have a toggle, but he does still get bonus damage and healing periodically on autos via his passive. Also, I don't get people's fascination with it being a toggle. You basically just used Price versus champions and Thirst versus minions, or if you drop low in combat. It's not exactly thought-provoking, but what do I know. Another issue I think is that there are a lot of AA-based champions older than Aatrox who also need updating. There are only so many ways you can make a melee AS carry functional, and using any of those ideas on Aatrox means less design space for when the older ones get updated. In fact, I'm pretty sure that if Tryndamere ever gets a rework, it might take cues from old Aatrox. Which would be really fitting considering his lore, and Tryndamere was doing the whole "high-AS undying bloodlusted berserker" thing long before Aatrox was made.

Jaspers (EUW)
: Just add it as another patch on the list. New Aatrox has had 14 patches since his relaunch a year ago, this includes 3 hotfixes. Old Aatrox had 17 in his lifetime (1 hotfix) and this includes the 7.22 buffs to all AD champs after rune changes. Sadly, new Aatrox is a success, he's popular and will sell skins. They'll keep changing him and nerfing him but not change his new style of play. We just need to wait for them to release a new champ who plays like old Aatrox just without the healing (if the healing truely was an issue and it's obviously wasn't looking at the new one and 4 or 5 other healing attack speed melee champs).

I mean, "plays like old Aatrox" mainly consists of auto-attacking. His abilities were mainly for sticking to targets or enhancing his autos, both features that Jax has. OKAY FINE I'M WRONG, FUCKING FIRE ALL THE ASSHOLES AT RIOT AND HIRE SOMEONE WHO GIVES A DAMN TO REVERT AATROX. NO, YOU'RE ALL RIGHT, RIOT DESERVES TO BURN IN HELL FOR DELETING HIM REVERT REVET REVERT
: I used to play Aatrox a fair bit, but was quite confused when his rework came out. He was NOTHING like his former self, and is served a totally different role. Almost all of the reworks ever released kept champions in the same role, and even used slightly adjusted abilities not complete removal. Current Aatrox shares so little with old Aatrox I feel like he should have just been a new champion entirely.

He was NOTHING like his former self, and is served a totally different role. Almost all of the reworks ever released kept champions in the same role, and even used slightly adjusted abilities not complete removal. Current Aatrox shares so little with old Aatrox I feel like he should have just been a new champion entirely. He actually has a lot of his old mechanics in an adjusted form. His passive fulfills a similar purpose to his old W, giving him an enhanced AA that can drain the life of his target. Only instead of being a 3-hit toggle, it's on a timer that Aatrox can reduce by attacking enemy champions. His Q is still a damaging slam(s) that can knock up enemies when you connect just right, just without the unstoppable dash _(which wasn't even unstoppable originally, they had to add it in because his old Q kinda sucked)_, instead the dash was moved to his E in order to sync with Q's mechanics. His new W is similar to his old E, being a skillshot slow meant to help him lock down a target. It's not a poking ability like his old E, but his Q covers that. His R is still a stat steroid, just with different stats. The main difference is that his damage isn't entirely relegated to his autos anymore. That's not to say you shouldn't still be autoing, seeing as doing so can refresh Deathbringer's Stance quicker, and he can still heal off autos versus champions thanks to his E passive.

Then you realize bruisers have 40% CDR without shojin and overcap a ton and waste part of it. It's stats are pretty bad.

It's stats are pretty bad. The version of Essence Reaver that they were building had 20% CDR as well, so I don't see the point you're trying to make.

Yeah, I went ahead and removed it. Here's a replacement Sona I dug up real quick. https://i.imgur.com/0Otlxfc.jpg[/img]
: Theirs is flat. Vayne and Fiora have % Max Health True Damage, a type of true damage that has no counter.

Vayne and Fiora have % Max Health True Damage, a type of true damage that has no counter. Vayne gets target-agnostic damage in exchange for having no AS steroids and being forced to fight entirely within her 550 auto range. Compare her to fellow hyper-carries like Twitch, Jinx, and Kog, who have access to AS boosts and range increases. Fiora has it because it's on theme for her, being the grand duelist who can strike through her target's defenses with finesse, hitting their vital areas. It also doesn't do much damage if Fiora doesn't build a bunch of AD, so she can't exactly go tanky and still abuse it.
: I loved the old Aatrox. I find the new kit boring really, having everything based around hitting with his Q is just plain boring. If it was more like his copy Riven, or Darius where you weave Auto Attacks, or suppose to, in between casting then I'm all for that. Instead it is all in his q, one button, at least before you had to calculate when to stance dance. I'd play him more but people threatened me, and left games whenever I picked him. I'd forgive all of that, all of his failed rework if it wasn't for two things. Firstly screwing up his lore. It is very obvious Riot had no idea what to do with his lore. More importantly they destroyed his epic and devilish attitude. Before he was the calm devil who would entice you into a blood lust. Now he is just an edgy teen emo b**** wanting to commit suicide. In fact it feels like THAT'S EVERY SINGLE DARKIN NOW! It is so depressing just to hear him, and even play him while muted. Old Aatrox never yelled, NOT ONCE! It wasn't his style. Cool, calm, collected, he was a professional. Now he just screams, whine, cries, rages over just wanting to commit suicide. THIS IS NOT HEALTHY TO GAMES, AND NOT HEALTHY TO LISTEN TO!!! Whoever thought of that idea needs to go to the higher ups and ask for some help. I remember Riot used to been very critical with voice over, voices, and attitudes. I remember an article emphasizing that with the release and promotion of Jinx. Why she is so loved and what not.

You do know that you want to be auto attacking for Aatrox's passive, right? Said passive comes up more often if you land your Q properly or are auto attacking an enemy champion. You're supposed to weave Q with his autos, and his enhanced auto is even called Deathbringer's STANCE.
